  1. "Oh, you're down there," Marisa says with a slight start, looking down at Blue. "Interesting offer. . . Let me think, I might have something worth messing with in my bag. That core is rare and valuable even where I grabbed it from, though, and pretty dangerous to handle. Speaking of, I can't really let you guys have both this mask and this tome. It's just begging for something bad to happen. So if you're interested in both, or you know someone who's interested, you might want to talk to them before you buy either." Then, her response to Stellio. "So, various schools of magic, some martial magic techniques, and information on your world's demons and demon lords. . . I have to say I'm mostly interested in the latter. I am a demonologist. Not that I tell most people that. They get a little, you know. Touchy. And murder-y. I don't suppose you could put together some notes for me to go over?" "Self-resurrection?" She looked quite interested in Freya's offer. "Yeah, that'd probably work. What's the catch, though? Bringing anything back to life tends to have a lot of costs attached, especially when that thing is yourself."
  2. "Selling knowledge is something I can do, but I'm not going to trust just anybody with demon binding. How did that one guy put it. . .? Oh right. Shit's dangerous, yo. They'll chew you up and spit you out and then eat your family if you're not careful. And the rest of what I know is basic survival skills. And the beam. But I don't think the beam would work for anyone who's not a Planeswalker and I don't particularly feel like trying to see if you've got a spark. Since that would involve me trying really, really hard to kill you and seeing if you popped off into a different plane." She shrugged, and turned to Stellio with a questioning look. "No offense, but I thought it was pretty obvious I know how to channel mana. And do dark magic," she said, gesturing at the demon, who at this point was looking somewhat upset about not being able to stab anything. "I can't let this stuff go for free; I'm not that nice," she said with a laugh.
  3. Marisa "Mostly just random crap I've come across that I thought might be interesting. Some of it might be demonic, though; stuff varies from plane to plane. Here, let me show you." She reached into a pocket and started to draw a few things out of it, including a couple items that seemed to be far larger than should ever properly fit inside a pocket. A dark pearl-like object, a set of massive, powerful jaws off of some reptilian monster, a book, a mask, some sort of tiny black sphere, and a metal-and-glass container with some variety of crystal suspended within. "If you haven't got anything on you, you could whip up a set of notes or something. Or teach me one of your tricks. I forgot to mention that my collection is knowledge, for the most part." Lucine The girl nodded. "Yeah, that might help, I think. I, um, don't actually know much about how to tap leylines or anything. I only ever practiced working with Opal or making Mystic Codes at home." She started to shuffle along toward the direction the sniper had indicated.
  4. Marisa "I do, but I'm not sure I should share what they are. You did, you know, talk openly about stabbing me? Anyway." Her head quickly pulled back behind her demon at Nader's gesticulations; she wasn't from a world where firearms were common, but she knew enough about them to know that them being pointed at her was generally not a good thing. "I'm Marisa, and I swear to whatever god or gods you believe in that I'm not here to turn you into a newt or whatever you're aiming those damned things at me for! I don't even know how to cast polymorphs. Or curses. None of that. I just want to sell you my crap." Freya could see the woman definitely not cowering behind her demon. "Every single time. Did they do this to you?" Lucine The girl looked a little confused at the sniper's response. Evidently, Amelie had misinterpreted which hardware the girl had been eyeballing; Lucine was far more interested in the curves of the gun rather than the woman it was draped over. Not that she was unattractive, but Lucine wasn't exactly invested in ogling anything other than military hardware. She blinked, though, when Vitor spoke to her. "Huh? I guess I've never really worried about it. . . Opal does run off of my mana, though; she doesn't actually collect any energy herself." She pondered the question, but seemed to be having a difficult time with it. Vitor could probably deduce that it was, in fact, mana depletion.
  5. "Yeah, I gotta make a living somehow. Though if you had anything for my personal collection, that'd be good." She didn't respond to Leo's last line, save for a set of gestures she started making with her hands. "And yeah, demons are bastards. That'd be why I don't feel bad about binding them. Technically I can bind other things; works best on extraplanar beings and stuff like that, that need a connection to a material plane to manifest in one, but technically they work on people too. Just. You know. Not well. And I wouldn't use it that way anyway." Her hands stopped, and a figure about eight feet tall, seemingly made of ashes and fire, with dark platemail and a large, heavy sword, appeared between her and Leo; the demon did not look particularly fond of the golemancer. Or anything, as demons are wont to (not) be, but Leo in particular. After a moment, her head poked around the side of the thing. "What was that last part?" she asked innocently, eyes nearly closed with a wide smile.
  6. "Australia? Wasn't that. . . shit. Anyway - wait, where did that come from. . .?" She peered around a bit, apparently not seeing Blue. "Um. As I was saying. . . Name's Marisa. I'm just here to look around, and see if anyone wants any of my junk. I would be a professional explorer if anyone actually paid me to do it, heh." Her eyebrows went up at the mention of necromancy, and she stole a quick glance at the reanimated biomechanical creature in the background. "So you're a necromancer? That means you won't freak out at the mention of demon binding, right? We've both got terrible PR, I'm sure you know."
  7. Shit. What kind of strategy was this? She just plowed straight through her fire like it wasn't there. Was she absorbing it, somehow? Were the gods really just that powerful? She fought the panic that kept trying to rise. She didn't have much time, but there was one thing she could think to do. She kicked at the ground, numerous cannons seemingly firing at nothing, as she somehow twisted the bulky frame of the mech around the attack, barely sliding sideways out of the way. Hiroki used the momentum of the maneuver (which had spun the mech around slightly) to finish turning around, swiping the Knight's free hand at Lord and attempting to grab her. As she did so, she activated the series of vents on her mech that controlled the Mantle, wreathing her in plasma as she did so. 2 point Reflex bonus used to dodge, special ability activated
  8. A faint smell of brimstone suffused the air for a few moments, before a burst of black smoke appeared a few feet away from the payload. When the smoke cleared, it revealed a woman competing with the one that the other team had found in terms of looks, dressed in a simple but functional black and white dress, and that style of hat known universally as the one witches wear. She looked around for a moment, noting the obvious signs of battle. "Um, I didn't pop in at a bad time, did I?" This place looks a little less hospitable than I was expecting. . . Did I land in the wrong spot? "And, uh, what's this particular region called again?"
  9. Myrdwyn seemed to be muttering to herself about something. The only intelligible words were "Belros" and "kebab." E20
  10. Hiroki uses a Basic Attack for 2d6+11+2 damage, 50% more if the target is below 50% HP
  11. "Thanks, Harry." He wasn't exactly going to be catty with the man currently patching him up. He quickly assessed the field; looked like this "Soma" (that was an odd coincidence) could use some help, too. "I'll get that one." Recall Soma. "I just popped your body backward in time a little, don't freak out. This is going to be slightly more uncomfortable though so uh, have fun." Doubleshift Soma twice.
  12. "You seem like you know what you're doing. This might be a little uncomfortable. . ." Donate three turns to Lidow. Loadout
  13. Lucine considered the offer for a moment, then shook her head. "No, I can walk just fine. I've just never done this much fighting in one day before, so I'm kind of tired. . ." She slowed down as she actually made it into the derelict. The woman inside was a bit intimidating, but didn't seem to be overly hostile at the moment. Lucine found herself forgetting some measure of her tiredness as her eyes were drawn toward the woman's gun. It looked a lot more advanced than most of the guns she'd seen, though looks weren't everything in a gun. Really, she just stared at it outright once it came into her line of sight.
  14. Lucine shook her head a bit, returning to her more natural mannerisms - though the odd outfit doesn't disappear quite yet. "Is it over? Did we win?" She peered about at the area, looking a bit uncomfortable as her gaze passed over the remnants of their combat. She hesitantly picked her way across the field, trailing the rest of the group as they moved toward the ruins. "We must have fought hard, because I'm so tired. . ." Indeed, her feet seemed to be dragging quite a bit as she walked, and almost immediately after speaking she nearly fell over on her face as she stumbled over a bit of shrapnel.
  15. "Well, I hope the leaders of the city don't find honor, justice, and the Goddess too challenging." She frowned for a moment. Was he making fun of her? No, of course not; it was hard for anyone to stand up before the goddess's chosen hero. "Did you have any other advice for us?" She elected not to comment further on the tome for the moment; Terrin seemed to have come up with a good method of handling such.
  16. Ice shook her head slightly. "If Merlin has notable family, I am not aware of their existence." Not that she would likely share such. The woman was helpful, but she would not place her full trust in the woman. Not yet. It wasn't right, what the woman had been part of previously. Though Ice could see why she would wonder. . . the resemblance the girl had to Merlin was uncanny. Not to mention the unusual, and potentially quite powerful, magical ability. Her intuition told her that this was simply one of those bizarre coincidences - she'd seen one or two who looked enough like her to act as a body double as long as the person looking didn't know her personally, it wasn't much of a stretch to imagine looking even closer.
  17. Kusuke nodded. "I see. I don't really have all that much of a notable family or a clan to speak of. The latter thing ended up dying off eventually in my timeline. I did have a group of people that I used to work with, but. . ." He looked sideways and downward. "That ended. For the most part I've just done my own thing, mostly bounty hunting. The NOL - that's pretty much what covers for a large-scale government where and when I'm from - doesn't actually do much police work themselves, so they rely on people like me to track down criminals."
  18. "I'm ready to put on the show." The solemn tone of voice Ayaka used was slightly spoiled by the forced "regal" expression on the girl's face. Especially since it wasn't that easy to get a good look at said expression, given that she was halfway through pulling on her Rhythm Next Coord and it was rather difficult to look dignified while doing so.
  19. Lucine spun wordlessly to face the incoming missile. After a few quick glances at her teammates to note the seemingly preferred strategy of trying to shoot it down, she raised both of her guns toward it and let off a rapid succession of shots herself. Big Blast on the missile. Eternal Arms Mastery applies.
  20. Well, fine then, if she doesn't want to dodge. . . Her slightly blustery thoughts were mostly Hiroki shouting over her own doubts mentally. There had to be a reason that Lord wasn't even attempting to move - but whatever that reason was, there had to be a way to overwhelm it. She wouldn't get anywhere by ceasing her assault, and there was only a chance that continuing her attack would turn out badly. She shifted about and spoke a few quick commands to her mech; the spread of fire emanating from the Knight tightened up into a narrow cone spraying almost directly at Lord. She still made sure that the spaces to the left, right, and above were covered, but the majority of her barrage moved directly toward the god. She continued to strafe sideways, figuring it was better than trying to retreat directly backward and getting pinned against a wall.
  21. LOTUS points out a few weaknesses on Lahmu B! Bridgett barrages the first monster for [109] damage! Hikari follows up, killing it. Lancer charges forward at Samantha. She drives her lance toward the woman with a flash of blinding energy, dealing [85] damage! Lancer, after recovering from her strike, rides about, trampling Ritsu, Dackly, Bridgett, and Gozer for [1], [15], [7], and [8] damage. Hikari uses a spell to increase the power of Ritsu and Samantha. Officer A targets Isobel with a flying shard of ice, dealing [13] damage and reducing her initiative by 2. Dackly gets into position to parry a lance strike, and gets a hoof to her face for her trouble. Gozer is marginally more productive, slamming into the mounted woman for [1] damage. The first group of soldiers forms up, and charges forward, attacking Ritsu twice, Morgan, Katsuo, and Hikari for [12], [Miss], [20], and [11] damage. Morgan deals [24] damage to them. Katsuo taunts Lahmu B. Lancer winds up for another charge at Dackly. Fortunately, she anticipated this one correctly, and deftly deflects the strike, interrupting the attack and stunning Lancer. The flying monster swoops at Gozer, battering him for [13] damage. The second officer sends an ice spike flying at Bridgett, dealing [3] damage and reducing her initiative by 2 due to the chill. The remaining ground-based monster skitters toward Friedhold and stabs at him with a sharp limb, dealing [2] damage. Samantha still manages to ward herself in powerful psychic energies, somehow avoiding burning herself up, and increases her RES by 42. The second group of soldiers attempts to take advantage of the opening created by Lancer, but finds that their attacks have a similar effect to a gentle breeze against Samantha. Ritsu chainsaws the Lahmu for [29] damage. The smell of brimstone momentarily suffuses the field. A burst of flame announces the arrival of none other than the party's second favorite Planeswalker. "Some weird guy with all these swords in him told me you guys might need help. Looks like he was right." Marisa has joined the fray! Friedhold knocks Lancer and the remaining Lahmu over for a moment, but it doesn't seem to have much of an effect. Morgan focuses, and channels void energies into his blade, increasing his SYN by 14. Initiative Status
  22. Hiroki looked about at the combat, trying to steel herself for fighting the people there. At least most of her targets this time seemed to be inhuman. . . Best not to spend too long looking at them. Her cannons roared to life, and sent a prodigious amount of plasma hurtling in the direction of their enemies. Curtain Fire
  23. Hoshiko continued to be red, for a number of reasons. "What?!?" She looked between Terrin and the man incredulously. "You want us to go to a royal audience and steal a rare and valuable book for you!?"
