  1. Kusuke was startled for a brief moment, but the startlement soon turned to annoyance and exasperation. Subtle was apparently entirely outside their capabilities. "Your turn," he said in the direction of the rest of the group, but at nobody in particular. "I'm gonna head to the bay and try some stuff. I'll catch up to you later." The young man slipped off, trying to get through the growing crowd, and headed in the general direction of the boat graveyard, praying that he could come back to something other than utter, gross incompetence. Teamwork was rapidly turning out to be far more frustrating than he had believed it would be.
  2. I'm glad somebody felt the need to quotebook possibly one of the more unpleasant experiences I've had with this community recently.
  3. Kusuke nods. "Yeah, it's a trick I use pretty regularly. Never really thought of using it on a vehicle, though, huh." The seithr-powered engines on the craft used to travel between Hierarchical Cities rarely had power as a concern, and for the rest he rarely had occasion to use or need for one. He waved absentmindedly at Clockblocker's back as the other time-based hero walked off. "Don't suppose you've got any test subjects around here? I've got an appointment I've gotta make later." He could, actually, be in two places at once, but he doubted he could manage to safely jump the amount of time needed to actually make the appointment and be shipped off to who knows where.
  4. "I see," Kusuke said diplomatically, trying and largely succeeding at hiding the bit of smugness he felt. It was odd to be proud of the power, considering it was something he was born with, and that he had no particular reason to want to best Clockblocker (other than him trying to put a sticker on him, he guessed,) but what he felt was what he felt. His face settled into a somewhat more naturally serious expression as he continued. "Yeah, I'll help with those loops if I can. Worth a shot, right? Although I should mention, my-" there was a slight hitch as he dodged around the term Drive "-power doesn't really affect the flow of things. I can't slow down time or stop it for anything; best I can do is kickstart it, apparently. Though I've been trying to work out how to stop things. . ."
  5. As the battle raged and the heroes were pressed further and further back, two things happened in quick succession; one, with a flash, a group of seven people, none seeming to be associated with their current opponents, appeared in front of the sealed-off drawbridge. The second was a familiar blue glow coalescing into a familiar figure - and a really quite unnecessarily large number of guns, levitating in the air behind the Heroic Spirit. "Excellent work holding out this long, men, but you can leave the rest of this to me, Demon King of the Sixth Heaven, and my Three Thousand Worlds!" With a thundering roar, the conjured weapons blasted at the opposing force, each foe getting two, three, even four or more shots as if they were being aimed by a legion of professional marksmen. Soon enough, what remained of the enemy force was making their way over the hills with a speed one wouldn't have thought was possible. Nobunaga, however, was looking somewhat the worse for wear, judging by how she appeared faintly translucent at the moment. "Yep, just as I'd believed. My reserves weren't up to the task of that attack. It cannot be helped! I'll just have to sit on the sidelines for the upcoming battles. But don't fear, I'll be right back to help you cheese boss fights in time for the last one, just you watch!" She faded into blue motes; Lexiel could tell that she was still there, though the "signal" was rather weak at the moment. The siege equipment sat, now abandoned and idle. Unfortunately, the castle still seemed to be under lock and key; whatever spell had sealed it (however imperfectly) was still being maintained by somebody. Still, the immediate threat was gone. . . for now.
  6. Kyou angrily resumed scrubbing without bothering to respond to Beverly's further comments. She was only not fine because she was stuck in the showers with a bunch of girls, damn it, and having someone continue to call her a rodent with their (faux? she didn't know) concern laid overtop was NOT helping. It didn't take long until she was satisfactorily - uncomfortably, even, given her general state of dress and hygiene - clean, and she stalked off in search of a towel that would ideally be far too large for her. Somewhat belatedly, she realized she had no actual changes of clothing. That's my favorite shirt. . .
  7. "Um. . . are you saying you're going to. . . Nevermind." It seemed like the rogue was saying to let HIM kill the grandson. Why it had to be the rogue, and why they had to kill him at all if they encountered him were things Viola wasn't sure of, but she didn't particularly want to ask the rogue about. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth, as they say.
  8. Kusuke cleared his throat. "Uhm. Anyway. You stop time, I move stuff around in time. I think that little demonstration got the point across, yeah?" Looking at his rather alarmed reaction was. . . honestly rather amusing to Kusuke. "You look like you just saw a ghost. It's not that big of a deal, is it?"
  9. "I ain't celebrating until I get my damned overgrown lizard back. Now come at me, you bastards. . ." P16
  10. "I said I would deck you before if you didn't leave me alone, and I meant it, now leave me alone!" Kyou spun about - turns out she had a good sense of balance - to face Beverly as she practically shouted at the other girl, and almost as quickly flushed and turned to face away from the rest of the group. "What's your damn issue, anyway? Just let me shower in peace. I'm fine. Go away."
  11. "I got my ass kicked. Dunno how. I hit her with my punch and everything, and I've turned trees into paper doing that before. Not literally, they just blow apart into a million pieces, but you know what I mean." She shook her head. "Knew I shoulda practiced more. Gotta keep moving, though, especially if stuff keeps going at this rate." She didn't want to complete the thought; if she kept losing, she'd be dead sooner rather than later, and Shinobu didn't want to worry her sister with the thought.
  12. Archer & James James pursed his lips as he thought for a few moments, falling quiet. "We don't particularly have a way to engage it, do we. . ." A flying ship was rather problematic. An idea struck him, though, after a few moments. "Well, you said it was hard to see anything going on with the ship from below it, right? That means they'll probably have a hard time seeing anything we do below it, either. I could try to set some sort of trap beneath it, but there's no way of guaranteeing they'll sit in one place long enough for a circle strong enough to dent it to actually charge up. . ." That grated a bit; if he had stronger circuits, he could pump more energy into the damned things himself. "You could just attack from underneath. Do you think you can move faster than it can? Basically force whatever Servant is there to get out of it in order to attack you, or else the bottom will just get blown apart. Any thoughts?" Saber Masaru had ranged forward a bit, and was currently, as best as he could tell without dropping out of spirit form, standing atop a rooftop belonging to some ethnic grocery populated with a number of traditional European foods and ingredients. Nadia, he'd left a bit further behind; he wasn't certain exactly what she was doing at the moment, but it's not as if he could just follow the link back to her. We've got to be getting close, right? I swear, the back of my neck's starting to itch. Nevermind that he didn't technically have a neck to scratch at the moment.
  13. Hiroki remained silent. One question sat at the forefront of her mind, but asking it would be an admission of weakness. If you can't beat her, how are we supposed to? We're already as strong as we could possibly get, and she would tear any one of us into ribbons. She wasn't keen on facing the monstrosity she'd seen in the ring with Tai; granted, he'd been depleted of Favor - a decent-sized chord of guilt twanged in her at the thought - but she shouldn't have been able to just rip into him like that, right? The girl shot a glance at the person in question; he still probably hated her for it. I'll just have to find some way to keep getting stronger. Right? If they did it, I can manage it too. Maybe. I hope. . .
  14. Kusuke had started to laugh, when it transitioned to a rather loud and staccato series of profanities in mixed English and Japanese. He looked around for a few moments, eyes settling on the blob of foam where Calvera had been standing previously. Exhaling a breath he wasn't quite aware of holding, he spoke. "She, uh, never mentioned that one. Would have been nice to know. . ."
  15. "Loki reported some negative symptoms. I've detailed them as she told me." She turned the clipboard around and held it out toward Genie, watching the woman's reactions. The symptoms the girl expressed earlier were concerning - but Genie wouldn't have any way of knowing about those unless she had been eavesdropping, which sort of defeated the point of having Ice conduct the interview. Which meant she was worried about the manifestation of Loki's abilities. Why that was concerning, Ice didn't know.
  16. "That'd be me," Kusuke said, reaching out to return the handshake. "Well, technically it was Linebacker, but whatever. I can't say I'm a master of time, but I've definitely been fiddling with it a bit. I'm not exactly up to speed - that's a long story - but what exactly do you do?" It was fairly obvious that he had some sort of time-related power, but past that he wasn't quite sure.
  17. Once Kusuke stepped into the ring and played with the system a bit in order to figure out how to get it set up to not blow giant holes in his squishy non-Brute body (he could probably recover from those but didn't particularly feel like having to do so), he hit the button to start the routine he'd set up. It largely consisted of having it fire ammunition that wouldn't actually hurt him if it hit, and then Kusuke dodging the shots by either moving out of the way before they were fired (it was set to randomize the timing so he couldn't plan based on that) or by blinking to the opposite side of the thing firing it. He eventually had it step up to having it try to hit him with a laser pointer, which he continued to dodge in much the same manner. Once he'd run through the whole program, he turned to face Linebacker again. "Uh, there's a bit more to it than that, but I'm not sure how to actually show that I'm sending things back or forward in time without messing with anything important."
  18. "I'm just trying to wash up, okay?" Kyou's tone was surprisingly heated, though some of the effect was lost in her not actually turning to face the other girl. "Moteassefam. Forgive me if I'm not taking everyone's measurements as I do so. . ." What the hell did Beverly want with her, anyway? Wasn't it enough to go and bother Satomi AND Ranga? The situation was obviously an uncomfortable one, and unlike some of the others her tension levels were still through the roof; sure, the Angel was dead, but that didn't mean there weren't more, and that they couldn't be on their way here RIGHT NOW, or that her parents were even alive. . .
  19. Everyone currently on the comms was treated to a gutteral roaring with the occasional loud chittering intermixed, a masked, roaring alien taking up his allotted portion of their viewscreens as Sigurdr opined on the new arrival. Loosely translated, the alien's statement in Basic would sound as follows: "You pathetic [Derogatory reference toward a Ganglari who has lost their arms in a ritual amputation], you dare to threaten our force with your pathetic excuse for a vessel? I have seen children that made more convincing pirates than you! You insult my entire species with your flimsy display! Power down all of your non-life support systems or be slagged!"
  20. "Uh, let me think here. . ." Damage and durability weren't things that were quite covered by his power. He wasn't some freak of nature like the Black Knight, and his Drive didn't particularly cover actually hitting things or getting him to hit things. Mobility, sure, that was a thing it did. Though not directly or consistently until recently. "Guess I'll run mobility testing? I'm not any more durable or stronger than any other person. I just get more hits in."
  21. "I'm seriously not a - you know what, nevermind. There are so many things wrong with everything coming out of your mouth that I'm not even going to bother." Viola sighed. She briefly thought about whether the girl was going to try and spread some sort of rumor about her, and then immediately cut herself off by reminding herself of how ridiculous of a thing that was to worry about at a time like this. "What are we even doing now, anyway?"
  22. "I'm not a pervert! You don't know me, why would you even say that? Wait, why are you even here?" She glanced about semi-frantically at the rest of the group, tome held as threateningly as one could hold a large and rather heavy book as she tried to figure out just how she was supposed to responding to the sudden appearance of the. . . maid? "I don't THINK we're going to kill you, though, unless you try to get us caught again. . ."
  23. "I'm ready to show off whenever you're ready to watch." He tried to force a smile despite his displeasure with how the day had gone thus far. "Seriously, though, what's that Piggot's problem? I've actually met friendlier mass-murdering criminals."
  24. "I didn't say I didn't think I was special at all! Magic is hard. It's just weird for you to talk about knowing all my deep dark secrets when I don't have any. Unless my dad being a little crazy counts, but everyone knows that."
  25. "I'm pretty sure I've met automatic weapons that were friendlier than her." He idly waggles his extra form about, the paper seemingly already filled out. In it, he'd stated that he was willing to help investigate these loops, and attempt to break them, though with some fair notice of when he was expected to do so.
