"Yep. Just toss me at her; as long as the arc meets her path, I should be able to catch her and bring her back." He braced for the impending throw. "Unless you want me to kick you forward a ways," he said, nodding toward Soma.

"Huh." Before he could ask any more questions, though, the girl flitted off. "You want me to, uh, go get that?" he asked, with a hesitant gesture toward the dragon-girl vanishing into the distance.

"2600, huh. . . How'd you guys deal with the seithr vanishing and everything? Or did that end? Do you remember the Six Heroes?" He shook his head. "Sorry, I shouldn't bombard you with questions. I'm just curious." He didn't look to possess the kind of tech he'd expect out of a civilization four hundred years in the future. Maybe the disappearance of the Magic Element had set technology back again? Most modern tech ran off of the stuff, after all.

"Perfect. I love alleyways filled with garbage." Kusuke pulled his hoodie up to cover his nose, which wrinkled at the odor emanating from the dumpsters nearby. "And yeah, I'm from Earth. 2200 AD, you?" The man was probably from an alternate timeline or the far past - it didn't look like he had any ray guns or the like on him, unlike the armored and irritable one. Kusuke followed the aforementioned individual to the end of the alley, poking his head out. "You might not want to just walk around in full armor, by the way. It's pretty suspicious."

"Misjudged him?! He was just using us this whole time so he could tell all his criminal friends that he wasn't as much of a damned shitbag as they thought! And here I thought he was just an asshole." She paused to slam her shoulder against the door again. "Pardon me if I don't feel sorry for you for your thieving going wrong, but worming your way into the royal guard for that? So you can 'redeem' yourself amongst all your criminal buddies? What the hell was your plan after you did that?"

There was no way Kyou could dodge in time. She dropped her knife in startlement as Unit 16 flew at her, letting out a yell of startlement that quickly turned into a grunt of pain. The Eva slammed into her, sending Unit 19 into the ground. In the tangle, she wasn't sure where her knife went, the status of her own Eva (other than that her own chest hurt dully), or even whether Beverly had landed straight on top of her. At least the girl was free of the Angel's maw. . .

"Uh, let me think. . ." He supposed it wasn't too surprising someone was curious, but he'd never quite paid that close of attention to his exact limitations. Mostly since they didn't seem to be entirely consistent; maybe he was getting better over time? "If it's just a few minutes, I can move a person or an object around. . . I think four hundred pounds was the biggest? People feel like they 'weigh' more, if that makes any sense. Direct contact helps but I can manage it from a few centimeters away. And it's tiring to actually use it, and not just mentally; I have to eat a lot more if I'm using the power frequently and I could probably kill myself of exhaustion if I overused it. Uh. . . I can bench my weight, I guess? I rely more on being faster than people if I have to fight."

Kusuke nods. "I can't give you a hard limit, but the further forward or backward I send something, the more energy it takes out of me - it sort of feels like lifting a boulder, if the boulder got heavier the further you lifted it and you weren't actually using your arms. And yeah, I can literally be in two places at once. Or three, or four. I don't think I've ever had a reason - or desire - to go to five, though. I've used it for fighting before. Punting a soldier thirty seconds into his own past is pretty helpful."

"No. Magic is something else. It's. . . Honestly I don't all the academic differences. Magic is a lot more flexible and is incredibly powerful, though, but most people can't use it. The only magic user I can think of is Nine, and I'm pretty sure she died a century ago. There's Magic Formulae, though." He shrugs again. "I just got lucky, I guess. Most people don't have a Drive."

"Explaining abilities, huh?" The teenager took on a pensive expression for a moment. "Sure, why not. If this turns sour on me I can just come back later and fix it. Name's Kigane Kusuke, or just Kusuke, I'm not much of a formal guy. I have a Drive called Wayfarer, I'm not quite locked into space and time the way everyone else is and I can pull people around with me to an extent. Or kick stuff forwards and backwards in time. It's pretty convenient."

"Something about becoming the monsters you fight, or letting people live on in ignorance. For what it's worth, I'm mostly with you on this. Far as I can tell, anyway. Although I don't think people are all that liable to backstab you if you're just honest about your wanting to help them." He shrugged, the various metal bits on his clothing making a miniature cacophony with the slight action. "I also got the bit about why we're here. All the rest, I was checked out for."

Myrdwyn paused her ranting and raving. "Good to see there's at least someone in this sorry excuse for a squad of royal guards who knows what it's about! Ya didn't get picked for this job to start mopin' and whinin' as soon as shit went south, you took this job because yer supposed to be the best of the best! And the best don't stop fighting until three hours past when they couldn't do it any more, you got it? And you with the cards, you might not be one of us, but the same thing applies to ya. Now quit your mopin', all of you, or I'll wring your neck after I get done with the bastards that took away Ecquis."
-
Myrdwyn didn't seem to appreciate the advice given to her by the others in the dungeon. "So you want me to quiet down, huh!? Just lay down and mope? Well Eirlys didn't raise no gods-damned quitter, and I'm not gonna stop making a racket until I get out of here or they take my head off!" As if to punctuate this, she drove her shoulder into the door once again. "You hear that, you bastards!? I won't quit! Come and let me out of this damned box and I'll tell you what I think of it!" She charged the door again. "If I've gotta be the guts for the whole team, I'll do it, just quit your damn whining at me for it!"
-
"You'd better pray to all the gods you believe in that I never get out of here, you rotten bastards!" She slammed herself into the door of the cell holding her - this wouldn't be the first time she'd done so. "The wyvern's not the one you gotta worry about! I'll tear you apart with my own two hands!" The woman continued to alternate shouting increasingly graphic obscenities and insults through the bars and slamming herself against them in a futile attempt to break them down - if the repeated impacts were hurting her, it wasn't showing in her voice or behavior.

Kyou jumped back in startlement when the attack began, the strange structures dragging across the chestplate of her Eva before she could get out of the way. She felt a dull burning where it had struck - was that supposed to happen? She forced herself to move again through the fear that threatened to lock up her legs (well, this time it'd be the Eva's legs and not hers) around the white monster and toward the black one. Taking a deep, still unnatural-feeling breath of the LCL around her, her Eva sprinted forward and attempted to leap straight toward the core, knife outstretched. Can't let Beverly get eaten by that thing, I still owe her one. . . !

Kyou, perhaps wisely, dropped the rifle. She was aware enough to realize that continuing to spray fire at the Angel was likely going to do more damage to her friends than she dealt to the monster in the process. Slash it up? She's got a knife, do I have a knife? Her Eva looked down toward itself; no belt or satchel was in evidence. If I was going to hide a knife on a giant robot, where would I put it. . . She started to run toward the Angel, briefly wondering about the sound that Beverly's Eva had just created - robots weren't supposed to roar, were they? - and trying to locate the knife. Her Eva reached up and felt at a shoulder pylon - was that a hinge? Kyou pulled it open and sure enough there was a knife in the robot's hands shortly afterward. Debating between gritting her teeth and closing her eyes, she started to circle around the Angel, trying to find a good place to begin slashing at it.

Shinobu perked up a bit at the prospect of food. She reached down to her waist, and was quite delighted at what she found; though she may have been dragged off to another dimension to fight until she died, at least she still had her sake gourd. The half-oni immediately took a swig from it, before electing to reply to the girl with some sort of plan. "Sounds like a good idea. This place is drearier then Hell." Something about her tone was odd as she said that, rather lacking in emphasis. She held the gourd up in front of herself. "Anyone else want some? You need any to cook with?"
-
"Well, at least that's dealt with. . ." She looked around the place. Lots of people, at least compared to what the surroundings would make you think. "So this place is called Bullet Hell? . . . Shouldn't it be hotter?" If it was any sort of Hell, it was supposed to be hot, right? Or was that only Old Hell? She hadn't ever heard much about New Hell. Maybe they had it set up differently, figured that burning corpses was inefficient or something.

[IC] TFW Chapter 2: Wrath
Chevaleresse replied to Shamitako's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Ice looked at her for a moment with an unreadable expression as she wrote down Loki's answer. "I see. The second question is another list of symptoms. Have you experienced any gaps in your memory, fainting, chills when trying to sleep, vomiting without feeling sick beforehand, drowsiness, insommnia, dizziness - especially after eating, or any chest pain?" She watched the girl for any reactions to her questions; she did know that people weren't always completely forthcoming about their health. Ice found herself unconsciously looking for the tics Merlin exhibited, before reminding herself mentally that this was not some sort of magically miniaturized Merlin before her. -
Shinobu shrugged, and followed after the girl. Human? She looked human. Something seemed a little off about her, though. . . Anyway, she seemed to know what she was up to. "Guess we're following her," she commented to no one in particular.
-
Shinobu frowned at the ground and its evident lack of shockwaves or shattering. "Huh. . . Well, that's probably the second most disappointing thing to happen this week. And also not very funny." She continued to stare somewhat glumly for a moment or two before looking back up. "Either way, we'll have to settle this all later. Rei, you coming down the stairs with me?"
