  1. Belinda nodded, and placed one finger before her mouth in an almost comical manner before hefting her maul a bit. "Right, go in stealthily, until we can see the whites of their eyes, and then. . .!" She clapped a hand over her own mouth, to avoid shouting CHARGE at the top of her lungs as she shuffled over towards William.
  2. Before the spat broke out. . . "Not really. You think the gap hag is playing some sort of joke on us?" Shinobu didn't seem particularly worried; confused, perhaps, but not worried. Rei would know that she took after her mother and by extension traditional oni values, which was to say that she rather enjoyed the prospect of a good brawl. Afterward. . . Shinobu watched the two start going at it, the guy in the coat - was he a youkai? He had the general feeling, if he utterly lacked the politeness - and the outsider with. . . that thing. Seemed like the two had gotten into a pissing contest that one of them was taking a little too far - and the other wasn't having. "Heh, time to knock some heads around," she said at a conversational tone to Rei, before shouting out. "Hey, you in the coat! Why don't ya try fighting someone who's awake and ready to throw back?" To punctuate her statement, she stomped the ground hard enough to send a shockwave rippling across the ground in Terumi's direction.
  3. Getting whisked off was a somewhat unpleasant experience even before the fact that she'd apparently been magically kidnapped to participate in some crazy person's gladiator battles - not that the prospect of a fight fazed her overmuch, but deathmatches were a bit excessive - as she'd been in the middle of punching the ground for practice, seeing how much she could crack it. "Oh, for the love of - is this some sort of prank? By that gap hag, what was her name, she's supposed to love those things." She looked around the area. Creepy, really, no wonder nobody wanted to stick around - wait a minute, was that. . . ? "Rei, where are you running off to?"
  4. It was probably a good thing that the Angel was a gigantic target, as Unit 19 sprayed it with haphazard fire; Kyou wasn't exactly a marksman, nor was she feeling particularly calm and collected at the moment. "How do we do that?" she asked, trying and largely failing to keep the panic out of her voice. Imagine like she was walking, sure, imagine like she was shooting this gun at the thing, yeah she could do that, but she didn't even know what an AT field was, much less how one was generated. Her HUD didn't seem to hold the answers either, though one of the elements that completely mystified her at least seemed to have something to do with their enemy, as it was now attempting to find. . . something.
  5. Cu Chulainn raises his spear over his head. Silef begins to gather energy, heat rising around her. "If they've betrayed me, then so be it. I'll just have to slaughter them when I'm finished here. This is my role to play." As if to punctuate his statement, he throws his spear at Silef, dealing [9] damage to her and Sachi. Navin sends Cu flying with a burst of explosions, stunning him. Solomon delays his action. Jade dodge rolls. Edmond patches up Ritsu for [13] HP. Hikari casts a spell to increase the power of Solomon and Silef, and a second to heal Wyvis for [14] HP. Solomon gives Silef some oddly helpful advice, increasing her DEX by 18 (from Life and Death.) Cu pulls himself back to his feet, seemingly more annoyed than anything. Berserker then raises his spear once again. Wyvis empowers Silef with their gathered energy. Sachi protects Silef once again. Magnum gives some advice to his team for how to best execute an offense against Cu. Cu throws his spear at Hikari, dealing [9] damage. Initiative Status
  6. Kyou still wasn't certain of the situation. A part of her was still half-convinced that they were just trying to get her to come quietly while they carted her off for endangering the Director's daughter and entering restricted areas without even a passing semblance of clearance. It took until she was sliding into entry plug itself for it to fade, and briefly returned again when the thing started to fill with some sort of liquid - this is way too elaborate, there's no way they'd go through this much trouble just to drown you - which she was informed via radio was LCL, and completely breathable. And then, she was synced with the cobalt behemoth known as EVA Unit-19. No pedals, no steering wheel, no clutch, just a couple levers and buttons. . . what kind of vehicle. . . ? And then she could see out through the EVA's eyes. Hell of a camera system. She still fought off the vestiges of the primal terror of drowning, wondering if the Evangelion was trembling like she was. Gigantic robot or no, the prospect of going out there and fighting that thing was terrifying. Especially if a veteran pilot was already being pressed. That thought was elbowed backward by the bizarre mix of familiarity and strangeness offered by the HUD; it was set to Farsi, which, while the language was comfortable to her, just shouldn't have been the case. Why isn't it in English? I suppose I should be happy it's not German. . . There was some sort of targeting system on the right side of her view, but she couldn't make heads or tails of it at the moment. Maybe its purpose would clear up as she got used to the thing. The asymmetric robot took one hesitant step, trying to avoid the same mistake that Beverly had made. Most of the left arm seemed to be bulkier than the right, and it felt somehow. . . numb. Like she'd been laying on it for too long. There were patches across the thing's torso that felt similarly, and the right foot was the same. Am I not hooked up right? They seemed to move just fine, though, despite the pieces in question almost seeming to not belong to the robot at all - like they'd put some spare parts from a similar, but visibly different model onto the thing. Still, they shared the same color scheme of that strong cobalt blue, with magenta trim separating the plates or forming serial numbers. "I think I'm r-ready to go," she said as she reached out, grabbed a rifle, and then shuffled into the back of the line, clutching the weapon as if it were a precious child.
  7. ". . . Huh?" It took Kyou a few moments to process the statement. She took a few steps toward the admiral, finally moving closer. "Did you mean all of us?" Piloting an Evangelion. . . that was a scary prospect. She'd have to fight that Angel out there, and probably more unless it was somehow the only one on the whole planet. But it was a chance to do some good, and, well, it wasn't every day you got an opportunity to pilot a giant mecha that you technically weren't even supposed to know existed. "B-Because I'll do it." She tried to avoid pondering what her parents would think.
  8. Kyou eventually forced herself to release Satomi (and somewhat belatedly, Ahmed.) She skittered onto the platform as soon as it was available. . . and stopped almost immediately, waiting on the very edge. "I'm sorry, please, I know I was supposed to never come here again but I didn't know where they were taking Ranga and Beverly and I just wanted to make sure they were okay. . ." Her blubbering trailed off, as she ran out of excuses; she simply stood there with clear fear in her eyes, unwilling to approach the man at the end of the bridge.
  9. "This ain't gonna be fun for you! I'm not about ta let anyone here die while I'm breathing!" D9, Attack Troubador with Axereaver, canto to E10 and equip Heavy Lance
  10. Kyou screamed at the top of her lungs when she fell, and likely would have continued to do so for a moment if the impact hadn't nearly knocked the wind out of her. Her hands scrabbled at the hard surface around her before finding Ahmed and Satomi and latching onto their arms in a death grip, trying to draw some comfort and calm from the other two (likely in a manner that was less than pleasant for them.) It took her several moments to process what had happened as she, too, panted with fear, her mind racing around enough to not even notice that a giant robot had apparently moved of its own volition to catch her.
  11. Kyou was still visibly nervous, though she seemed to be keeping it under control for now. She kept switching between staring hard at the Eva that Beverly had entered and staring hard at the screen of her communicator, hoping fervently for a reply that didn't come from one of the people right next to her.
  12. Kyou sighed. "Satomi, come on. He's gonna get lost or fall out of a hatch if we don't go to him." She tapped the other girl on the shoulder and quickly lead the way up and over, navigating in Ahmed's direction. This is just too insane. Way, way too insane. Evas, Angels, my being here for the third time, now Beverly's an Eva pilot for some reason. . . Mom and Dad. . . She hurriedly pulled out her communicator, and tapped out a message while they moved. Are you ok? please answer, sent to both of her parents and her brother at once.
  13. Not sure. probably worried about whats happening right now. your dads the science director right? it makes sense directions going out now. Kyou's fingers tapped out a storm on the screen, trying to get the instructions on how to get to the hangar out to Ahmed as quickly as possible. She briefly wondered if it was a good idea to do so, given that she'd led Satomi here largely on impulse and it wasn't necessarily the wisest thing and that bringing Ahmed in would only make the consequences she imagined even worse. Kyou belatedly realized that she'd forgotten to pull the hatch cover in the doctor's office shut; that was unfortunate, but at least it would let Ahmed find it easier - and give the doctor a better idea of where they went.
  14. "Six," she said to the first question. "I've been in here twice. Ahmed saw too, the second time." At the second question, she looked around slightly frantically. "Uhhh, hold on, there should be. . . I don't actually know this area that well, but if it's anything like the others, it should be around the corner a little bit." Sure enough, ducking around the one of the corners of the rather large room lead to a set of ladders - a set, because they needed to reach several levels of the room and up to the heads of the EVAs. "Well, let's get climbing. . ."
  15. "Heh. My bad." Kyou climbed up into the shaft, and immediately started moving toward where she believed the soldiers were going. It didn't take her long to realize something; she'd been this way already today. ". . . No way. They're taking them to the Eva hangar."
  16. Mitsurugi had been prepared to admonish the goddess further, but kept her silence when she seemed to. . . not quite retract her statement, but come to some sort of realization. At least, that these humans were not so worthy of contempt as the ones she knew. The kami wished to speak with Aurora further, but it seemed it would have to wait - the other goddess was distracted, a thought caught in her brain much like one of her webs might catch a morsel, and it was clear that she intended to devour this one way or another. Turning to the mortals, it seemed they were conflicted. "Listen to Lotus. This is the nature of war. It is not a thing to be sought, but you cannot shrink from it when it rears up before you. Sometimes you must destroy in order to preserve."
  17. Satomi's communicator buzzed; a message from Kyou, who'd stood back a bit when the soldiers entered. If she pulled it up, she'd read the following: Dont worry. I have a plan. Maintenance shafts.
  18. "Oh. Lost family, that makes sense. . ." She tried really, really hard not to think about that. She stared very, very hard ahead of her, and dropped into silence for several long uncomfortable moments, before rounding a corner and stopping. She reached down and pulled the lever on a hatch, which opened up into a somewhat crowded hallway. "There are signs that point the rest of the way, but you can still just follow me." It'd only be a matter of minutes before the pair arrived in the medical bay. As they walked, she took her communicator out and stared at the screen for a while, waiting for the reply.
  19. Kyou scratched her head awkwardly. "Um, I heard about them going to meet foster families. That's all. I didn't really mean to eavesdrop, it just kinda happened. . ." She would have cracked a joke about mad science and making sure they weren't being turned into horrible alien monsters or something, but given that she'd just recently run away from a horrible alien monster, she wasn't particularly in the mood.
  20. "So what, Dracula's goons already? I don't know who else would be attacking carriages without goin' for their things." Belinda had been tumbled about as the carriage had fallen over, but didn't particularly seem to be the worse for wear. "If only I had a shield. . . Everyone else, stay behind me anyway." She prepared to leap out of the fallen vehicle, using the door as cover from one direction. "Just tell me when you're all ready to go."
  21. Kyou, after pulling a small table over to the opening to make climbing easier, climbed in and helped Satomi up, closing the hatch behind her. She lead the other girl through the tunnels at a brisk pace. "We should only be in here for about half the time; once we get to a certain point it's quicker to just take the main halls." After a few moments of nothing but the sound of their footsteps on the floors, she spoke again, trying to avoid silence and thinking about what had happened. "So, uh, what did you talk to the doctor about, anyway?"
  22. Mitsurugi's eyes narrowed as Aurora spoke of her divine powers and what would happen if the mortals attempted to channel them. "Enough, Aurora. Pride is one thing, but mockery and arrogance do not fit a divine being such as yourself." The spider-woman was strange to her in a number of ways; it seemed that her full nature hadn't shone through to this point, though she had always clearly had some divinity to her. And much more power than Mitsurugi herself was capable of bringing to bear, in her present state. . .
