  1. Sure enough, after almost exactly a minute and thirty seconds, a knock sounded from the ceiling in one corner of the room. The hatch swung open toward the wall, and Kyou dropped out of it with a slight thump. Kyou gave a short wave and a "Hey" of greeting before immediately looking around for a chair or other conveniently movable object to use as an impromptu stepladder. "The fastest way to the medical bay is cutting through the maintenance tunnels again, is that alright?"
  2. Mitsurugi landed lightly; she'd taken up a striking position in midair before Assassin had been downed, but as her blade was unnecessary, she simply floated back down. "Is anyone wounded?" She wasn't certain; she'd seen the spider-goddess heal most of the party, but it never hurt to be sure.
  3. Ice "Mer. . .?" Ice couldn't help the slightly startled syllable upon sighting Loki. It was uncanny, the girl's resemblance to Merlin. She cleared her throat in a halfhearted attempt to cover her brief laps."Yes. Please pull up a seat." She prepared her notepad as she waited for the girl to follow the direction. "For the first question, I am to ask if you've felt any of the following things: Extreme sadness, a loss of interest in things you usually enjoy, a loss of appetite, a . . . craving for blood, a fear of the dark, a fear of small spaces, or a panic attack." She put a slight pause at the end of each condition, stumbling a bit at the question about craving blood. It seemed out of place in a set of questions aimed at emotional states, but perhaps it was there to keep the patient honest?
  4. Kyou noded, and then immediately darted off. She took the main halls for a short distance, before cutting to the side at an intersection and prying open a hatch near one corner. Doctor Hashimoto's office. . . The offices are there . . . Right, he's the science director, so he'd be one level above in the VIP ones. . . I know where I'm going. She slid up and down ladders, dodged around the occasional forklift or maintenance worker hurrying to repair God knows what damage, and ducked back out into the main halls before opening another hatch and repeating the whole process again. She called Satomi up after a short time, panting as she spoke into the reciever. "Satomi, it's Crash. I should be there in a minute or two, coming from a hatch in the ceiling. Get ready to slide a chair over or something."
  5. "Âre. Okay." She took a deep breath. Crash had a job to do now. "Where is she? I didn't hear. I'll just take her right to the medbay once I find her, yeah?" She tried to focus on planning out her routes. The main corridors were probably going to be congested - she tried to ignore the crowds, since they only served to unsettle her further - which meant that cutting through some of the maintenance shafts would be faster. Not that she hadn't planned on doing some of that already, since with the ship's size and layout there were bound to be shortcuts regardless.
  6. "No, no, no no no nonono that's not how this works. You're supposed to answer and tell me that you're in the crowd somewhere. . ." She hurriedly punched in another number; this one belonging to her father. "Bâbâ, lotfan. . . pick up, this isn't funny. . ." This couldn't be happening. Not today. Today was supposed to be amazing. She was supposed to make new friends and move into their new home and finally have new places to explore, not. . . She couldn't even think that. She refused to. It wasn't possible.
  7. Kyou's vision started to swim a bit; she clutched the doctor's hands hard enough to be painful for the both of them when Alma grabbed Kyou's. She was safe, for now. She was fine. She wasn't going to be crushed by an Angel. She was back inside, back with the feel of metal flooring under her feet and the comforting whir of electrical motors. Her friends were here. Her breathing slowed as the death grip on Alma's hands relaxed to something less apt to cause circulation issues. After taking a few deep breaths, she let go entirely and stood herself back up. "Um, moteassefam. I don't know what came over me. . ." Her voice still wavered, but she was at least coherent now. "Shit. . .!" She dug her communicator and frantically dialed her mother. "Okaasan? Okaasan? Come on, please pick up. . ."
  8. A black fog seemed to burst out of Assassin as the scintillating rays pierced her - a fog that seemed to coalesce, and then drip to the ground, spattering it with a hiss as if it were molten rock. The torrent of divine light, however, scourged it out of existence entirely. The Servant fell to the ground, clothes tattered and burnt - and different, the party could see, than when the party had first met her. Her eyes no longer seemed to bleed, and her hood slipped back to reveal bluish-purple hair. Her clothes were a dark purple mixed with traces of gold on the edges, instead of the blood red and black they had been before. Even her skin was a more natural shade, instead of the corpse-like pallor it had held before. Medea coughed, and stared up at the ceiling of the cave again, her body glimmering with gold motes that rose into the air and vanished. "And so. . . it ends like this again. Controlled. . . against my will. . . and used until I break. Cursed as a. . . witch. . ." She gestured at the entrance to the cave, and then slowly dissolved, leaving nothing but dust behind.
  9. Once they were safely inside, Kyou immediately collapsed to her hands and knees, panting both from the exertion of sprinting for her life and from the continuing throes of terror as she tried to wrest control of herself from the surging emotion. Nothing they'd seen outside was supposed to exist any more. Not the Angel, and definitely not the EVA - though a part of herself was oddly relieved that her knowledge of the things existing on-ship wasn't liable to get her shot going forward. Not that this relief was enough to offset the crushing fear she was still experiencing; it looked like the girl was about to hyperventilate and pass out.
  10. Beverly's grasp broke Kyou's stupor, the touch prompting a loud, wordless scream that seemed to take whatever force had frozen her with it; once she started moving she didn't stop, simply sprinting at high speed while blubbering unintelligibly in what might have been Farsi and crying. The physique she'd developed from climbing around the ship and the various machinery to keep it running started to show as she darted across the landscape, back toward the (relative) safety of the Ark.
  11. Crash had been avoiding going out of the ship for a while. She knew it was irrational, that her parents were probably worried about where she was at this point, but the prospect was just intimidating. Her entire life had been one surrounded by metal and machinery, the hum of electricity being to her what the sound of a breeze might have been to most people. She'd spent the entire trip out hanging a bit too close to the people she'd met that morning, resisting the urge to actually grab their hands. Gradually, though, she'd calmed down, the new experience growing on her already. It was actually really nice, how fresh the air smelled, and the open sky was beautiful - Kyou froze in terror. What the hell were these things? Angels? They didn't look very holy. . . or friendly. Definitely not friendly. Were these the things that had destroyed Earth? And now there were right there and they were going to kill everyone and oh god she was going to die and she hadn't even seen her parents since she left the house today and - The girl more or less remained motionless, as if she'd been petrified on the spot by the monster's appearance, her eyes glazed over with an all-consuming fear.
  12. Ice "I believe I understand; I do have the clipboard." She prided herself on her ability to process information; and besides, she wasn't certain she needed to know about whether the girl was considered a good candidate for. . . breeding. She almost wanted to ask the woman how she'd become involved in something that treated people as objects like this. But, the woman was on their side, and helping care for the children. That was enough. . . for now. She would trust Merlin's judgement. "I may ask later about the purpose behind some of these questions, but I believe I am ready."
  13. Archer & James "A flying ship. . . ? So that has to be Rider, then. A Caster couldn't have set something like that up this quickly. . ." He looked around; there were a few taller buildings around, but climbing up to get a better vantage point would be just as helpful to their foe as it would be to them. "What kind of armaments did it have? Cannons? Archers? I need to know so I can start preparing my barriers."
  14. Kyou relaxed a bit upon discovering she wasn't in that much trouble. "Y-yeah, I'm sorry, Ranga. I, like I said I didn't know anything about this. I just got curious. . ." And I don't want to go outside, she added silently. It felt. . . strange. She'd spent her whole life on the ship, after all. Crash was excited to see Canaan, but at the same time the nervousness she felt was incredible. "And, um, Doctor-" there was a slight hitch as she searched for a name and came up blank "- there are passages like this all over the ship. I can get all the way from my cabin to here without setting foot on a main deck. If, uh, I want to."
  15. Cu Chulainn's spear glows more intensely. Silef does her best to shake off her wounds, recovering 36 HP. She then conjures a Wall of Flame around herself, Sachi, and Magnum, reducing the damage they take by [14] this turn. Cu Chulainn prepares to throw his weapon! Navin defends. Solomon defends. Jade defends. Edmond makes a quick patch on Magnum's bus, allowing it to recover [11] health. Hikari heals Silef for [19] HP. Cu Chulainn unleases the Gae Bolg with another thundering crash. Silef takes [19] damage, Navin takes [10], Solomon takes [13], Jade takes [13], Edmond takes [25], Hikari takes [24], each group of Dragon Teeth is destroyed instantaneously, each soldier takes [27] damage and the third falls, Wyvis takes [24], Sachi takes [10], Ritsu takes [28], and Magnum takes [10]. Cu Chulainn takes a total of [66] backlash damage. Cu Chulainn raises his spear again. The two soldiers make one last push, both attacking Navin for a total of [2] damage. After seeing this, they both decide that this really isn't worth the effort, and turn to flee. Wyvis attacks Soldier D, dealing [10] damage. Sachi takes up a defensive stance, protecting Silef from further harm. She takes [5] damage. She regenerates 6 HP. Ritsu assists Edmond's patch job, restoring [11] HP and sealing some of the leaks in the vehicle. Magnum gives Hikari some advice and Crocodilade, granting her an extra turn. His bus takes [5] damage. Cu throws his spear at Silef. She and Sachi take [2] damage. Initiative Status
  16. Kyou did as she was told, ducking through the hatch with a mixture of lingering anger, sheepishness, and embarrassment. "I just wanted to see where the people I met earlier went." Her gaze slid around actually making eye contact, and her feet shuffled about nervously. "I didn't know it was. . . you know. This important." I really screwed this up, didn't I?
  17. Beverly achieved both of her intended results; firstly, the panel depressed slightly, just enough for the latch to come undone and for it to visibly rebound open and stick, revealing two sets of legs. Second, the sudden noise prompted a quick, and quite loud "Kuso-!" from behind the now-opening hatch. A hatch that swung open about as violently as Kyou's foot, well, crashed into it, swinging it upward with a shriek. A string of angry-sounding Farsi followed, and then after that a quick and equally irate translation: "What the hell is your problem? I told you it was gonna hurt if you kept calling me a damn rat!"
  18. "Unfortunately, no." She was starting to calm back down; there was no way they could have known they were in there, right? "So. . . foster parents? Why are they talking about foster parents? Unless. . . oh." So Beverly was an orphan, then? She supposed it made sense, the girl obviously had no parents to rein her in. Kyou started to feel a bit guilty; this was a little invasive of their privacy, after all. She didn't want to eavesdrop on something important, she'd mostly just wanted to see where they were.
  19. Kyou gave the other teenager a flat look. "No. The ship's sterile. It'd be a disaster if there were rats aboard." She wasn't entirely sure why the man would reference the girl's attempts to rile her up - successful ones, she had to admit - in this situation. It's not like she'd forced him to do anything but get out of a restricted area that could have gotten them shot or something. Or crushed by the giant robots that weren't supposed to exist in the first place.
  20. The passages eventually circled around as Kyou walked, a bit more quietly than before. The amount of background noise picked up as they went, and their footsteps made slightly more hollow sounds - it seemed that the bulkheads were, indeed, thinner in this area. She mentally berated herself for not paying more attention than she had - at least until she heard a voice she recognized. Not exactly one that she was glad to hear, but that '. . . some fresh air' sounded an awful lot like the girl who'd almost eaten a left hook. "I think we're here. Look for a vent or something, unless you think they won't notice this hatch." Kyou whispered the request, but the tap on the wall that she made was probably audible to the people inside the room.
  21. Kyou simply nodded, looking a bit shaken, and led the way forward. They went up the short ladder and back down the taller one, coming to a bigger, more open room as they had before. She hurried toward the opposite corner of the room, distancing herself from the marked-off area and almost starting to leave Ahmed behind, before she slowed down upon hitting more familiar territory. "Yeah, this is the right spot now. The way forward twists and turns a little, but it should take us there. And, uh, try not to mention anything you saw back there to anyone. Please."
  22. "Well, uh, you know how I mentioned that I got into trouble once or twice? I remember getting into that area once before. It. . . well, I don't think they want anyone to know what's in there. So let's go before they throw us out an airlock or something. Or, well, probably not that any more, but you know. Vaghea’an bad." Since Ahmed didn't seem to be resisting, she continued to tug him backward until they got to the tall ladder leading back downward. "It's, uh, other side of this room. The tunnel we have to take, that is. I got mixed up 'cause it's been a big day. Man ehsas e nakhoshi mikonam. . ."
  23. Kyou squinted into the hangar for a brief moment. "Wait, this isn't righ. . . " The phrase that followed was composed of at least three different languages all trying to insert their choicest expletives at once, in a delightful menagerie of foul speech. "I messed up. We can't be over here. Especially not me. I'll be in so, so much trouble. . . !" She pulled at Ahmed's sleeve, back toward the direction they'd come from. "Come on, this is a restricted area, I don't know what they'll do if they catch me here again. And don't tell anyone about those things."
  24. Laver smacks Mitsu in the face, healing her for [12] HP. Nobunaga, conserving energy, shimmers and fades into glittering blue motes. LOTUS gives Atton a better idea of how to effectively utilize his time. The first group of warriors attacks Bridgett. Two of them miss, but two blades find their homes for [15] damage. Assassin causes the mist to surge forth, targeting Atton, Samantha, and Mitsurugi, stunning all three of them. "Are you insane, soldier? I've tried to kill you already, and I would never let a man such as yourself get near me without stripping the flesh from his bones." Aurora heals herself and Venus for [14] HP with cleansing divine light. She regenerates 4 HP. Bridgett fires a bunch of magical arrows that deal a shitload of damage at Assassin, striking her for a total of [231] damage. Assassin does some of her own beam spam, targeting Samantha, Atton, and Mitsurugi for [0], [11], and [18] damage. Venus shoots Assassin in the face for [22] damage. This somehow heals him for [6] HP. Mitsurugi recovers from her stun, and screams internally about her lost ramp. Assassin begins some sort of magical ritual. An outline of a circle appears on the rock of the ceiling. The remaining Dragon Teeth in the room burst into glowing motes, which fly to this. Atton recovers from his stun. Samantha recovers from her stun. Friedhold also goes with the tried and true method of shooting a motherfucker in the face, dealing [4] damage. Her INIT falls by 1. Nessie hits Assassin with her blade, dealing [82] damage.
