  1. Notus, you should make a Discord chat for the game. I could set it up for you if you wanted.
  2. Hiroki uses Curtain Fire, deals SYN*1.25 = 14 damage to all targets, inflicts 50% more if they are below 50%
  3. Archer & James "If we can't establish a clear advantage right away, we retreat. First we go directly away from where I've set up my lab, and then we circle back around. We'll use the data we collect on our enemy's capabilites and prepare a trap specifically for them, at a location of our choosing." He drew another sigil, and then stopped for a moment. "We've got to be getting close, right? Could you scout ahead so I know what I'm going to have to be guarding against?"
  4. "Okaaay~! Well, one of the top models in the system is the poster girl for Rhythm Next, so I bet the crowd would love us if we showed up in matching outfits from them." She pranced over to the rack full of them, the expression on her face suddenly going dead serious as she looked between the rack and Yuki. Her eyes flitted up and down Yuki's figure, analyzing, processing, before her face lit up once again and she snatched a coord from among the others. "I bet this one would be perfect for the show!"
  5. Hiroki squeaked a little bit at the caress. She couldn't really say that anyone had been interested in her before, and wasn't sure if the gesture actually meant what she thought it meant but. . . two people? And both of them were other girls. . .? "Um, thank you, I, um, guess." Unsure of what exactly to do, she threw out a quick bow and then scurried toward her discarded cloak and then the exit, hurriedly scooping up the garment. Not that it would be of much use going forward; it was now going to be known that the feared Hellfire Knight was nothing more than a frightened little girl. Damnit, now nobody is ever going to take me seriously again. . .
  6. Nessie defends. Nobunaga, as requested, gives a quick pep talk to Atton that leaves him feeling better, if slightly bewildered. He recovers [32] HP and gains a bonus of [20] to his next roll. "You know, you guys really have to manage your incoming damage better. If the healer goes down, you guys will wipe for sure." Isobel recovers from her stun. The remainder of the first group of archers fires at Bridgett for [5] damage. The second group also lets loose at the bombardment mage, one arrow dealing [5] damage and the other whizzing past her head. Three of the warriors strike at Nobunaga, dealing [12] total damage. Two of them attack Samantha for [0] damage. The last attacks Venus for [7] damage. The mist surges forward again, surrounding Bridgett, Nobunaga, and Venus. Venus is stunned as he resists the urge to create artwork using his teammates. Aurora heals herself and Mitsurugi for [15] HP. She regenerates 4 HP. Bridgett thoroughly ruins Assassin's day. Assassin definitely does not want to be her friend as she deals [157] damage to Assassin, the Warriors, and the Archers. Nessie takes [32] damage. Assassin fires a trio of lasers, targeting Venus, Nobunaga, and Isobel. She deals [13], [3], and [13] damage. Venus recovers from his stun. Mitsurugi continues to strike Assassin with Eruptions, dealing [48] damage. Assassin attempts to bind Atton with strings of magic. [Pass] Using Nobunaga's advice, he manages to evade the attack. The remaining warrior in the second group attempts to find a good striking position. Atton increases his own INT by 14, somehow. Samantha punches Assassin in the face, adding insult to injury for [4] damage and taunting her. Laver recovers from his stun. Friedhold camouflages himself, Atton, and Bridgett. Initiative Status
  7. Cu Chulainn raises his spear once again. Silef sends flames surging over three of the enemy soldiers, dealing [17] damage to each. Cu Chulainn tosses his spear at Sachi, dealing [13] damage to her. Navin unleashes a flurry of blows against Soldier B, dealing [40] damage. The man crumples and flies across the field, crashing to the ground unmoving. Solomon flings an eldritch physics textbook at Soldier C, the incredibly dense projectile inflicting [14] damage. Jade fires another shot into Cu Chulainn's heel for [22!] damage, crippling him again and reducing his INIT by 1. He heals for [26] HP. Edmond welds Cu for [9] damage. The next attack will deal [16] additional damage. He heals for [26] HP. He takes [2] damage from Cu's spikes. Hikari heals Ritsu for [17] HP. She then stabs at Cu for [17] damage and recovers [26] HP. She takes [0] damage from his spikes. Cu Chulainn's face contorts with anger, the first expression of emotion he's shown thus far. "Do you want to die that badly!? Fine, I'll grant you your wish!" He raises his spear above his head again. Three of the first group of beasts attack Sachi, scoring wounds across her sides. [Pass, Fail, Fail] She begins taking 10 points of bleeding damage per turn, for the next 3 turns. Two of them rip out cables and fluid lines from Magnum's bus. [Fail, Fail] It begins taking 10 damage per turn, for the next 3 turns. The second group of beasts swarms toward Wyvis and Silef. Two attack Wyvis for [4] damage. The other three attack Silef for [52] damage; she bats the last one away and brings her sword down on it to deal [43!] damage, destroying it, and does not go down. Hikari's Session activates, dealing [13] damage. Cu Chulainn's spear digs into his flesh as he pulls it back. The three soldiers run forth, attacking Ritsu, Hikari, and Jade. They take [3], [7], and [12] damage. Wyvis strikes the second soldier for [17] damage, gaining 25 blood. The first soldier routs, dropping his weapon and trying to escape while clutching his wounds. Sachi attacks Cu Chulainn, dealing [2] damage and placing her Bonds of Friendship on him. She takes [0] damage from his spikes, and regenerates [6] HP. Hikari's Session activates, and she attacks for [9] damage. Ritsu chainsaws Cu Chulainn for [16] damage, inflicting [20] bleeding damage on him for [3] turns. She heals for [26] HP, and takes [5] damage from his spikes. Magnum grants Silef an extra action next turn. Cu Chulainn's spear begins to glow. Initiative Status
  8. "I, um, didn't think this, um, would happen. Blink wanted, um, Nil to show themselves." She looked down at herself, eyes flicking to the ground on either side of Tai as she stood over his mech. "I didn't actually, um, want to hurt you. Blink said, um, that she would save you if Nil, um, didnt." She almost seemed to physically shrink as she backed away a step or two. "I'm sorry. . ." She started to turn away, toward her discarded cloak and shoes - not that there was a point in retrieving them.
  9. HK vs Supernova(?) Nil was gone. That much was good, at least. She leaned a bit further out of her cover, looking around cautiously, and then skittered up back toward the center of the arena, in the direction of Blink and Supernova - still outside her mech. At this point, it wasn't worth trying to hide herself. Hiroki tried to just ignore the looks of the crowd as she made her way across the rocky field, a vague thought that her feet were going to be dirty later drifting into her mind among all of her swirling concerns. "Um, Supernova, are you, um, okay?" She tried her best to call out loud enough to be heard, but it caught in her throat halfway through, coming out much quieter than she'd intended.
  10. Ayaka looked a bit concerned about the spiel, and definitely deflated a bit upon the "pitiful" bit, but the prospect of dress shopping perked her right back up in no time. Even if they were out of style already, it was still exciting to pick and choose them. "There's so many choices!" She darted from rack to rack, examining each dress as she went. "Oooh, this one would make me look just like Suzuka. . ." She prodded at the gothic outfit, spinning to the other side of the rack as if that would somehow get her a better view. Abruptly, she stood up straight, cleared her throat, and shook her head before moving on to the rack full of cutesy outfits. "Ahm, I mean, these dresses would fit my style as well. . ."
  11. Hiroki nodded somewhat shakily, the motion barely visible through the mech. She stayed still for a brief moment as she disengaged one arm from its normal place and wormed it up along her side until she could reach the side of her face. Just before her mech vanished, Tai heard a little girl's voice over his comms. "I'm sorry." And with that, she turned to run, kicking off her shoes and tossing the cloak to the side, her now-bare feet pattering across the rocks of the cave as she sprinted toward the edge of the field. But. . . wait. What if Blink needs to fight Cardinal right now anyway? It's my fault that Supernova is being attacked right now. . . She ducked behind a stalagmite, peering out to observe the situation from befar, trying to ignore the part in the back of her head screaming at her about revealing her identity in the middle of her home plane.
  12. "I've already won and then some. You're not worth the effort." Hiroki was glad for the voice changer. It made her come off much calmer than she actually was. This confrontation, for all the excitement that came with it, made it feel like there was someone pressing down on her chest. Blink could show up any time now and bail her out of this. "Don't push me, though. If you want to push this to the end, I'll oblige you." Please don't please don't I really don't want to kill anyone I just want you to stop I already got my win nobody needs to die
  13. HK, Supernova, & Cardinal The barrage petered out as soon as Cardinal appeared, a few stray shots spattering the arena before Hiroki could fully shut down the automatic fire on her mech. She even disengaged the thrusters that kept the thing slightly aloft as a further sign of the cessation of hostilities; the weight of the Knight was enough that dropping even that short distance was enough to send a clang echoing through the arena. Hiroki kept the mech summoned, however; she didn't know if her foe would come in for revenge. She felt a mixture of emotions, the first being relief: she hadn't had to attack a defeated foe more than once. The second, though. . . "Don't tell me to respect the rules when you're relying on Nil to save you. At least I can stand above the rest without someone propping me up." How dare he cheat against her? Had he no pride? How could you prove your prowess if someone else was winning your battles for you? A strange, third urge rose up in her chest. The whole point of the tournament was earning the right to challenge Nil, right? So what if she just. . . did it now?
  14. HK vs Supernova Hiroki braced herself mentally for a moment. Blink wanted her to try and kill him. It. . . didn't feel right. But Blink said it would be okay, right? And Blink seemed legitimately concerned. . . but could she actually trust the goddess? She was still raw from the situation with Kagari - even if the other woman had the best intentions at heart, the betrayal in the moment still stung. No. I can do this. He'll be fine, if Blink doesn't intervene then someone else will. Supernova's surrender was met with a powerful beam from her main cannon and the shoulder guns, the trio homing in straight toward his chest while the auxiliary guns scattered fire in a wider pattern.
  15. Ice frowned ever so slightly, though it was almost unnoticeable through her less-than-expressive face and the existing strain. She was being left here. . . ? She looked down at herself. Her legs. . . She wasn't going to be of much use securing the facility. She was objectively worse than useless at the moment; her lack of mobility would easily negate any advantage provided by her spellcasting. The woman finally allowed herself to succumb to the pain radiating from the entire lower half of her body, going limp in Bartek's arms and closing her eyes.
  16. HK vs Supernova The hammerblow did indeed spin the Knight around, spraying the entire area with fire as the targeting systems on the Knight frantically tried to resume a normal firing pattern. However, the mech's center of mass and lift was around the chest (and almost dead center in Hiroki's own, a deliberate design choice); a torque, such as the one just applied, would spin it about that point. And so it did, bringing the leg in a three-hundred-and-sixty degree arc, right back down on top of Supernova as the guns continued to pepper him with plasma.
  17. HK vs Supernova Were this any other field, Supernova's tactic would have worked like a charm. It would have been difficult for her to spin fast enough to keep her guns trained on him, if it were possible at all. However. . . The rocky field, for all the cover it had been providing Supernova, now turned against him. The rocks made it so that she could keep pace with him and then some, leading her shots and blasting an arc just wide enough that he wouldn't be able to dodge without stopping his forward momentum. When he dashed in, she aimed a kick right into his path, firing off the gun mounted on the back side of the leg at the same time. He was faced with a choice: land his attack and take the blow on his chin, or cease and try for another approach.
  18. Ice was still struggling to stay conscious. Being carried wasn't actually conducive to that end, as it wasn't humanly possible to be steady enough to stop her bloody, limp, and twisted legs from moving about. She was also fighting to come up with a suitable response to the situation; Merlin was quite obviously bereaved, but handling emotion had never been something she was good at. She felt a twinge of guilt over not being able to help Merlin at the moment - it's not as if she could resurrect Gypsy. There was also the matter of Charity; she was obviously a threat and needed to be disposed of, but Ice had neither the energy to do so nor the will to cause Merlin further grief at the moment. With that, she elected to speak simply, as she always did. "Merlin." A pause, longer than normal. "I'm sorry."
  19. "Mer. . .lin. . ?" Ice's voice was. . . oddly still clear, except for her words. If one didn't know better, one would think she was simply confused and hadn't inflicted an agonizing amount of injury upon herself a few seconds ago. The young woman was doing her best to not pass out or vomit from the amount of pain she was currently experiencing. "I need. . . instructions," she said, not even appearing to acknowledge the fact that she was currently being lifted up by Sense.
  20. HK vs Supernova The fact that he had dodged was frustrating, but not enough to really affect her. She was already clearly at an advantage, and Supernova wasn't doing much but dodging and taking cover from her. She shook her left arm a bit - the hammerblow had bent some of the fingers in the mech's hand further than they were intended to go, and she could feel the increase in stiffness. She took the barest moment to set up her next move on her systems, and then put it into action. The Mantle exploded into a wave of plasma once again, initially appearing to be similar to the first exchange. However, the leading cone was more for show than anything else. The bulk of the stuff was jetted directly backward, shoving Hiroki and her mech forward toward Supernova in a straight line at high speed. As she moved, her guns flared to life, blasting at Supernova and the area around him in an effort to catch any attempts to dodge.
  21. The glow around Cu's spear intensifies. Silef conjures a wall of flames between Cu Chulainn and Jade, Navin, and Solomon, reducing the damage the latter group takes by [16] this turn. Cu Chulainn takes a step back and cocks his spear back further, the spikes digging into his arm and shoulder. Navin defends. Solomon defends. Jade defends. Edmond defends. Hikari activates her jump jets, sending her far above the field, and heals Sachi for [16] HP. "Now, face your deaths! Gae Bolg!" Cu Chulainn hurls his spear, wreathed in crimson energy, forth, taking 60 damage. It strikes the field with a massive shockwave. It deals [0] damage to Solomon, Navin, and Jade, [8] damage to Edmond, misses Hikari, deals [7] damage to Wyvis, increases the damage of Sachi's next attack by [24], deals [6] damage to Ritsu, [4] to Magnum, and [33] to Silef. Sachi takes [8] damage from Tower Stance. Cu Chulainn takes [6] damage from Wall of Flame. Both groups of Dragon Tooth Beasts return to the field. Cu Chulainn prepares to throw his spear again. The soldiers return to the field. Wyvis heals Silef, Edmond, and Magnum for [15] HP and increases their resistance. Sachi attacks Cu Chulainn, dealing [26] damage and placing her Bonds of Friendship on him. She recovers [6] HP. Ritsu heals Silef for [9] HP. Magnum grants Hikari an extra turn next round. Cu throws his spear at Hikari, dealing [17] damage. Initiative Status:
  22. Hellfire Knight vs Supernova Hiroki simply had her mech float a bit to the right, to throw off Supernova's aim as she continued to pepper his approach with plasma fire. He really should try to change up his tactics. The fist caught her just on the corner of her right chest plate, jerking the entire right side of the mech about. A few warning lights went off about the guns he'd been aiming for went off - but she didn't care. Her mech spun about once again, and she aimed another grab at him as she activated the Mantle once more - and this time, he didn't have enough juice left to get out of dodge free.
  23. Ice bit back a cry of pain and the accompanying tears. She still had to fight for Merlin. Assess the situation. Anemone wounded, possibly severe enough to lose combat efficacy. Self: unable to walk. A spike of pain drove up from somewhere in her lower back. Organ damage of some kind. Kidney? Does not appear to be immediately life threatening. Ansuz partially frozen, weapon undamaged: threat not reduced. Shielding disabled or nonexistent, evidenced by efficacy of previous assault. Merlin. . . Her mind slid over that thought, refusing to grasp it. Merlin status unknown. Feardorcha still imprisoned - minimal known combat effectiveness. Optimal course: continue attacking. Sacrifice remaining leg for increased power - will not result in meaningfully reduced capacity. "Breath of winter, cloud your sight." Clouding was perhaps the wrong term, as Ice attempted to drive thorns of ice into Ansuz's eyes, using his currently-frozen arm as a base. "Talons of winter, pierce your soul!" Her voice showed increasing strain with every word, like glass breaking under a high-speed camera as her spark twisted at her still-healthy leg, contorting it until it mirrored its twin. Her second spell attempted to use a similar base to the first, this time aiming to insert a spike of the stuff between the boy's ribs.
