  1. Or just a fool who's going to get himself pummeled by entering the wrong dorms like an idiot... Hmmm, what? I said nothing...nothing at all... It would be sad to see a guy possibly get detention on the very first day of school though... XD
  2. Is talking to parents about college and debating about whether to pursue Writing or a government subject... finds out about Double Majors from mom: https://imgflip.com/i/s7jnk

Hey, I did a Double Major in Biomedical Engineering and Pure Mathematics and graduated. Look how I turned out~

      Not crazy yet~

My mother started college in both Law and Journalism courses. At least for her it was a bit too much, and she ended up deciding for Law. Buuut later on she did write an internal newspaper for the office she worked in, so she ended up doing both.

IIRC my mom double majored in something math related and something foreign language related

I have as great memory tho, so don't quote me there

  3. Female Dorms, RM.002 "Yeah, sure thing..." Maya said, watching the other girl from the couch. Even Folie was interested enough to lift up his head- though the rest of him was still as flaccid as a Stunfisk. His head was right back down the moment his trainer got up though... that other panda didn't look like it was gonna be too interesting- not compared to the Dark type he had met earlier. "The name's Maya, by the way. And you're?" She didn't really know what to think of the other girl. She seemed pleasant, at least as far as a first impression. Mannered, courteous. Looked like she had seen at least abit of exercise at some point during her lifetime. A bit on the short side though. More than anything, she was honestly just thankful the other pokemon that would living in the dorm wasn't something that was very big or imposing that Folie would doubtlessly feel the urge to challenge every ten minutes just for the hell of the time; something like oh- perhaps a fully-grown god damn Absol...
  4. Eh, like I said, it's fine. I just wanted to make completely sure since I was confused... I don't have an issue with her having possibly seen maya at some point, I just wanted to make sure it wasn't anything deeper like the "We used to be buddies" scenario or something crazy like that. Afterall... too early for any misunderstandings to happen XD better to speak up when in doubt, I always say...
  5. Yeah but thing is... there's literally thousands upon thousands of people within a city, so the likelihood... I mean, I guess it can work if that was the logic behind it... I'm just not personally one for having any past/pre-exposition connections between my PC and someone elses that weren't planned and talked about ahead of time popping up... ((I feel it makes the story better that way... gives the connections on screen more time to develop along with the characters rather than simply hand waving it as already happened in the past or whatever...)) though I guess it's probably fine in this case... given it's just some minor connection...
  6. hmmm... "The Fast Fingered Mad Men". Does that sound like a good name for a band?

      Yep.

Not sure if for a "music" band tho.

  7. @Hilda, just wanna address it for the sake of continuity since I'm abit confused, but when exactly did either Maya or Helene see each other or even know the other existed before the Dorm rooms? I don't know, just kinda seemed a bit odd to me given Maya's only met James so far and I never saw anything referencing her in any of Helene's posts or anything... aside from the slight detail chim threw in about an admin mentioning a name and Helene missing it because she was preoccupied with her Pancham. though who knows, maybe I missed something trying to keep up with you lot of fast fingered mad men somewhere and there was... if I'm didn't though, and there wasn't, then I don't really think it to logical for them too be anything more than perfect strangers in this present situation. just something I wanted to point out real quick.
  8. Maya, Girls Dorm Mayanna said nothing as she shut the door to the female Dormitories behind her, making sure to drag Folie all the way through before it caught. The little trouble maker hadn't put up much more of a struggle once they left the Registration area. He actually seemed to just enjoy the change in scenery more than anything else, tilting his head every so often as the passed another student or anything of even remote interest. "Room 002" She ordered as she let go of the scruff of neck fur she'd been gripping with knuckles that had turned white as bone, reaching into her pocket and grabbing the key. The spinda wasted no time, hopping to his feet and marching off in the same dignified, disciplined way he had infront of Old man Caid before finally stopping before the first door he came to, going into a tidy Parade Rest. Maya Smirked. "Good. I'm glad to see we've come to an understanding then." The door opened easily once the lock was turned. Folie strode in first, still in parade rest as he scanned the living room area and the small kitchen and sink beyond. It wasn't until he reached the couch that he finally started back into his natural teeter and totter, jumping up and flopping down face first into the cushions- sending up a turbulent storm of quiet dust motes that floated in the beams of midmorning-sun streaming in. Maya said nothing as she walked past and checked both of the rooms stemming off the small hall way, first right, then left afterwards. Both bedrooms seemed identical... so she just tossed both her bags onto the bed of the one she was currently standing in and left it at that. There, problem solved. "So I guess now we just wait now..." She said as she came back into the living room, leaning on the back board of the couch. "Whoever else is assigned here will have to show up eventually..." Folie only gave a muffled, frustrated groaned, face still buried in the soft fabric of the cushions. Here He was- having come to this place, bright eyed and raring to go, expecting to immediately start training like a champion, fighting some tough and worthy foes, and taking names the entire time he was kicking ass; Actually put some of all those hours of lecturing and drilling from Old Man Wilk and that Iron Angel of his to some actual use. And all he had gotten for those expectations so far... were these god damn boring bouts of waiting. ((I pretty much just went ahead and described the basic layout based on how I recall the individual dorm apartments were set up in the original run, so tell me if there's anything new that needs editing or fixing here...))
  9. Setting up premise and motivation for a future battle he think would be interesting through a single point of initial contact; Check.
  10. Maya and James "Maya," Mayanna responded simply, lowering Folie but not letting go quite yet. She passed a quick glance at the absol by the boy's side, then at the trainer himself... "Well, I can at least see why He picked these two... an absol is certainly bigger than most things I've seen running around inside here" "Right, well... I have a roommate to meet and things to unpack. so I guess I'll be seeing you." Without waiting for a response, she turned on her heels and started heading off for the front doors, practically dragging Folie behind her in her wake, paying no heed to the cries of protest and slight indignation the panda offered. Folie eventually gave up and just gazed over at the absol as his almost-opponent grew smaller and smaller... and lifted one single palm, cloaked in the same vibrant, rainbow light as before, before mashing the mit into his other, smirking as he ground an imaginary substance into dust with the tiny hands... They would have their battle, someday...He knew not when, or where, but he knew they would. He had to- the challenge had been issued... and it had been accepted. It didn't matter how pissed his trainer might be right now- none of that changed anything. "Spinda-Spiiiiiiinda!" He called out smugly, waving with one arm in the now all-too-familiar Sayonara Gesture towards the Dark Type.
  11. Hell, I prefer to just have everything either be noises they make and their body language, with a bit of general narration to help out from time to time if there's something deeper about the situation that isn't as easy to actually convey through those methods alone...((Well, more because it saves me time compared to getting all flowery with descriptions trying to do the same job that way)) If I had my choice, I would NEVER even use pokemon cries in the first place (I just have no fucking clue what sound a spinda would even naturally make though...so no choice). Cause to be honest even that never made any sense to me, and still doesn't. So apparently they all have vocal cords, but are literally only intelligent enough to only ever memorize one single word- their own damn name, and never learn anything else? Yeah...sounds kinda NO to my ears...as in no logic behind it or that I've ever seen explained. but tis a necessary evil I guess.... EDIT: And dear lord, I forgot how fast you people can move when you want to XD
  12. Eh... He'll have it worked out of his system... eventually...maybe... though the threat of no freedom gets the job done too. XD Can't evolve him, can't even mega evolve him... has no form changes or anything, but I still gotta do some type of evolution and personal maturation for him at some point... it just can't be literal. XD EDIT: I must admit... quite ironic though... same country, same city even... and the difference in personalities. this shall be interesting... though that's probably the exact reason Chim did it.
  13. Folie's smirk only grew even more smug as he saw the big cat edge closer, keeping up his rigorous regiment of air punches all the while, one after the other. Perfect. Seemed the big guy wanted to brawl too- at least it would be something interesting in this huge snore-fest of complete, utterly soul crushing bureaucracy and paperwork. "Spind!" He called aloud ecstatically, still jabbing as he gazed at his would be opponent... though for some reason he was shaking. "Spin-spinda-spin-spinda-spin daaaa..." Yes. Shaking indeed... with just how much he was going to enjoy this. Within an instant, those air jabs turned into something more as, near quick as lightning, the tiny panda's mit began to glow in a rainbow light as he reeled back for what would've been another routine warm up... then sent it flying forward... Only to feel some fierce force grab him by the scruff of the neck and hoists his little tail right up off the ground before he could even get close. Maya's eyes drilled into his like glaciers as she turned him around in her hand, paying no mind to the meager 11 pounds of weight the normal type was packing. He was done, son. He could tell. Gonzo, Ziltch, Zero. Done like one of Flamie's dinners(and damn could that lady cook...). Annoyed wasn't the right word for this... more like pissed. "uh...Spiiiiiin...?" He uttered meekly, taping the two corners of his mit together modestly... not that it would have any effect here. "Spinda?" "Ten minutes..." Maya sighed, rubbing her temple with her free hand. "Ten whole minutes here, and you instantly go and not only try to pick a fight, but then you even go a step further and try to throw the first punch too?" Folie had nothing to respond with. Just that same, modest facade intended to win Amicability. "Get your act together, or you'll spent most of the semester in your ball. You got me?" The spinda instantly deflated at the not-so-hollow threat, finally giving up the jig and nodding his head as he stared at the floor. "God... he's more a handful then he's worth sometimes." Maya muttered, at least Satisfied he'd behave for now. Hell though, she was so focused on stopping Folie, she had almost forgotten the boy and his absol standing there. "Er...Sorry about all of that trouble just now. I don't think it'll happen again."
  14. "Thank you," Maya took back her ID and accepted the Key Card, sliding both into her pocket and nodding as she moved away from the desk. It was done... a bit simpler than she had imagined it, but, she wasn't about to complain. 002, eh? Wondered who her roommate would end up being... guess there was but one way to find out. There was only one small issue before that could happen though... "Bird Jesus, Where did he manage to wander off to?" She muttered, scanning the crowds. One second. One split, minuscule second to recollect her ID and get the key, and somehow that was literally all the time he needed to vanish into thin air. Poof, gone. One minute, by her side, and then the next, gone again- up and into the oblivion of the night like his name was Batman... Except Batman wasn't a three-and-a-half foot tall panda covered in beige and red fur whose colors were a near dead give away in a crowd of people dressed in late summer attire. Yeah...some real great camouflage Spindas had. Though, maybe that was part of the reason they were all crazy- to scare away the bigger things that might want to nibble on their Giblets. "barely ten whole minutes of freedom..." The girl sighed with a shake of her head, heading off after the speckled crusader. Folie made no sound as he wobbled and weaved through the lower bodies of the crowd, dodging student after student nearly unseen as he traced his way. Yeah, Maya was probably gonna be annoyed that he just straight left her, but... well this just wasn't an opportunity he could pass up on. Not after he'd spotted that big cat just now. C'mon, Big, Dark, Menacing and Brooding. The dark type had looked like it would be the perfect challenge, and to be quite hoenst... Folie already felt like he was bored out of his mind here. Lines were the bane of interest, after all. "Spin! Spinda!" He shouted in challenge once he finally reached the Absol, putting up a pair of tiny dukes and paying no mind to the others at the scene as he threw a few quick jabs at the air and eyed the far larger creature... a sly smirk on his face... But oh how easily that little smirk would've melted if he noticed his trainer locked dead on to his position...closing in fast.
  15. Eh, you can't really be blamed for it... considering it happened many months ago in an entirely different thread and is buried amoungst literally thousands upon thousands of posts... Damn, the old place was huge...XD And even besides, the limits you say you'll self-impose are just about the same (give or take) as what we theorized that they would have to be inorder to keep shit legit... so yeah, I don't really see a problem personally.
  16. Spoils of war (Yuuki) The stones were beyond peculiar, once one actually touched them... beyond peculiar indeed. They seemed to almost be...alive, sentient nearly. The luminescent, vibrant power swirling just within their surface grew even brighter as the scholar handled their glossy bodies. The crimsons were hot to the touch... not searing, not burning, but beyond warm. And as if in divine juxtaposition, the Teals were cold... cold as the depths of the sea. But cold without the raw brutality and fury of winter. A type of cold... that if need be, could still abide life to enter it's domain. But truly, the most peculiar feature... was that each and all of them, no matter size... was shaped precisely as a teardrop. In fact... if the young scholar had done his homework, listened to his parents and seen their research... he may even be able to identify them as they truly were... for the raw miracles of nature he was holding in his very hands... the very miracles people had been using and exploiting for so long... but even so... there was something... off about them... For... even the clutches of death can yield the essence of life...
  17. "Sun Liiiiiiiiiiight!!!!" Whats the easter egg, and what game did it appear in?

  18. *Strokes Beard* Hmmm... yes, yes... I do believe I'm going to enjoy writing Folie even more than I did Erce in the original...I think he may even become a new favorite...
  19. "So this is it..." Maya muttered as she gazed up at the open gates. Even the Spinda at her side was focused... just as still as his trainer. He could feel it too... what this meant. how long it had taken them, how much they had worked. Still... but smirking from ear to ear on that insane little mug of his. This was where the real tests began, the real work and the real trials... no more training wheels, no more old man Wilk breathing down their necks and always lecturing and tutoring, no more training wheels... It was sink or swim now. and the challenge... had been accepted. Right from the very moment the little panda had gotten wind of it all. "Indeed it is..." A graveled tone answered the girl as it's owner placed a hand on her shoulder. It was strong... firm, even though he was far from his former prime; despite his limp and the need for the cane by his side. Even his hair had maintained a bit of the vitality he'd had decades ago, that field of bright, fiery red still giving a valiant fight against the grey invaders beginning to take over from the south of his hairline... though sadly the timber-wolf shades of his beard could only attest to war and rumors of war, to the times before it had fallen to the enemy, left it's brothers up north to hold out on their own. He easily had at least a full half-foot on Maya, if not more- so tall that even the Scizor standing in silence by his side had to look up whenever he spoke. Even those eyes still held their ferocity, after nearly three full decades. Twin pools of blue as dark as the depths of the ocean... and unforgiving as a wolf. "You know," He began, jokingly "it's not too late to back out... I'm sure Firon would understan-" "Yeah right," His God Daughter scoffed, glancing back at him with a smirk. The Spinda only glared up at the geezer though, arms crossed across his tiny chest, an indignant frown where his own smirk had once occupied. "If you're going to start something, you should finish it too. Weren't you the one who told me that once?" "Well, at least you were listening..." Sighed Caidmus as he reached a hand into the satchel on his shoulder, pulling out the ID and Registration. "I'll definitely give you that much." He dropped his hand as she took the documents. "So...I guess this is where we say goodbye then." "Yeah...I...guess it is..." She watched the man who had spent four years raising her as his own nod his head, turn around... and walk away. "Spin..." Folie grumbled under his breath, turning on his heels and marching off towards the gates, waving Sayonara with the back of his stubby mit as he went. "Don't be like that," His owner sighed, following... "remember just whose roof it was you've been living under... or that he's the only reason you're able to eat like you do..." "Spind!" The panda chided in response. Folie had no damns to give. It wasn't long until the two entered the main hall and found their way into a line labeled "Girls Dorm", Folie abandoning his dignified, straight as a board walk in favor for his natural teeter along the way. No use keeping up a facade if the target audience wasn't there anymore. The only issue now was the damn wait times... it was some sort of infernal punishment, you stand around like cattle all day, and the damn thing just eternally stays where it is. Doesn't move forward, backward, nothin'. You just stand there... and go crazy... and- "Folie!" Maya's voice broke him out of his own little realm for a minute. Folie glanced around... finally noticing how far behind he'd gotten. The girl was already at the front...whoops. "C'mon, try to pay some actual attention..." Maya thought, sighing as she handed her ID and paperwork to the faculty behind the desk, all the while watching the little ruffian scramble over with a sideways glance.
  20. dobby and Commander kinda have a point... it;s not like he's actually abusing it, given that's just what teleport... does. And even if he has it later on, I'm sure there are copious counter measures Chim and Dobby can concoct to prevent just having it be a constant Dues Ex Machina (*Cough* Shadow Tag! Mean Look! Strange Ass Machinery they make up! Etcetera! *Cough*) That and Commander is completely right about us actually discussing this whole thing in the past about how much energy it would take to accomplish such a feat in the first place... hmmmm... very strange cough just now though. I'll have to see a doctor about that. anyway, I just finished making an update for Avalon, so now with that out of the way I should be able to get something up for this soon, hopefully tonight.
  21. VC Gym A knock at the door. Two. Then three. all in quick succession. The Leader of Vermillion put down the copy of the daily paper he'd been browsing most of the morning and glanced at the Ampharos gazing out of the Gothic window into the near barren early morning streets of the city far below. The creature only carried on with it's stone cold stare, the gleam of it's choker casting a rainbow light amidst the shadows of the office. The old soldier reclined back in his chair, running a hand through the graying field of faded, sandy blonde as he sighed. It was too damn early in the morning for little punks to come challenging... "Come in, Amy," The door opened by a crack, just enough for a sliver of a young face and bright blue eyes to peek through. Surge only muttered under his breath. It had been three years now, the kid was gonna have to stop being so shy and timid at some point in her life... and it was better it happen sooner than later. "Um... you have a call waiting from... him...again." Without another word, the slab clicked closed yet again. Surge cursed under his breath as the girl left, reaching a hand out for the Phone mounted on his desk, a scowl on his face as he picked up the receiver. "What is it john? this shit is starting to get old. I'm the gym leader, you're the chief of police- I'm fine with stepping in if your men can't handle it, but damn it, it's not my job to come rescue you every time so much as a freaking Jay Walker shows up..." He paused as the voice on the other end shouted over the sound of sirens, the message barely audible. "Wait, wait, back up..." The old Soldier's eyes grew to dinner plates as he processed it all one more time, nostrils flaring as he moved the receiver away from his ear. "... I'll be right there." he said, getting up and taking the coat off the back of his chair. "So, someone wants to go a rampage in my town? Wants to go burning my damn docks?" He stopped just infront of the door, throwing a sideways look at the Ampharos. "Tesla. We've got a situation." The Electric Ram stayed where it was, it's calm, steady gaze fixed on that one particular spot. and then without a sound turned on it's heels and followed it's master, leaving behind the scene it had been watching for so long... left behind that crimson, pulsing glow in the distance that up until just moments ago had been bright and alive... Yuzuki "An attack." Khan said steadily, quick to hide his smirk as he turned to face the girl. He nudged the remains of the pyro-mancer with his shoe as if prodding a Cadaver with a scalpel. "And ill timed one, judging from the fact that only three members of their unit even made it to the boat. I'm guessing they stormed Tatsuya on the boarding ramp and ran into Jack when they tried forcing their way inside towards the Cockpit...I've no doubt that whatever their objectives here though, Killing everyone on board was definitely some part of the plan." His ghost meanwhile eyed the girl like a lion stalking a lamb... massive maw of it's belly snapping shut and closed before he cast it a single, reprimanding glance. He looked back to Yuzuki after the reaper vanished indignantly. "But regardless, looks like they failed here..." He pointed towards the fallen beast just on the other side of the deck. "Your friends over there certainly did a number on the thing." His smooth demeanor fell apart the minute the monster began fading though.Slowly, shaking, he lowered the shades, revealing eyes like windows into the clear sky as he stood, mouth agape at the spectacle before him. bit by bit...the being was vanishing. Flesh, Bone, and blood replaced with celestial light... "Mother of God...how?" Fall of a Titan There were no words to describe the electric sensation in the air as that final, critical blow was struck. No words to describe the merged and strangely exquisite symphony that was the utter pain, the fury, and the terror of the Living Volcanoid's death keel. No words to describe the shadowed burst of darkness the radiated outward like a bomb as the Electrode collided dead on with the top of the Fire type's skull as it struggled to remove Ishmael... There was only silence. Silence as the beast finally gave in. Finally gave up in it's fight to survive. There was nothing more suitable but silence. Deprived of voice, deprived of will, deprived of freedom... and now finally deprived of even an existence comparable to life as well. But he should've know this would be the outcome. He should've known he was already gone the minute he was overtaken, that he had been gone for a while... and it was just taking Yveltal a while to catch up. The deck shook. The boards creaked. Dust and ash flew. The Titan lay still on his side. Body battered and broken. And as the trainers looked on, already the remains began to fade into a shimmering haze of crimson and teal as warmth and light flooded the area... Warmth that started to burn and light that began to blind... And then it was gone. Light, Heat, all of it. Before them stood no body, no monster... just the Gyarados and the Electrode who had dealt the final blows... and beyond them countless sparkling lights illuminated in the winter sun as they lay on the deck. Jewels, Crystals... a cacophony of red and blue, crimson and teal. Each of them burning with a strange, inner fire... They... had done it. They had truly done it... just as to what it was, though... Watcher "Mother of god..." she muttered beneath her breath in the cold wind. "Just defeating it was... one thing, but... somehow, somehow... they've managed to bypass even that type of power. To be able to slay a Myth...to not just beat it into submission, but utterly destroy something so ancient...so primal..." She shook her head, fighting off the wave of thoughts cascading more and more with each second she watched. She had seen more than enough... seen far more than enough... "So... that power isn't just another fable afterall." Like clockwork though, he was there with his response. "You're just now realizing that, child? We never lied to you lot..." Before she could say anything, the tone of sirens began to pierce the air. Still far in the distance... but too close for comfort. "Nevermind that," She muttered, heading for the boarding ramp, only to stop short as the she heard the pained groan of a man, lifting up her foot to find a mammoth, gloved hand beneath it... "We've got bigger issues on hand now."

  23. This right here, to all those youngsters out there who might get ideas... plus, given the fact that we're still going back and forth trying to debate the pros and cons anyway, we're stll not even ready to decide if it's worth approaching the chain of command and actually proposing it to anyone at all. And even if we do by some miracle come to a decision, you don't send small fish to talk to big wigs. And as always, commander has a point as well... I've seen it more than enough times, with a few rare exceptions here and there, whenever any overall action happens around here, it's always the same people doing it- the more experienced, more versed members... I have seen very little attempted by any newbies... and this is from an observation in quite a few different RPs. Hell, the same can said for this thread. Look at it. The same more experienced, more versed members who are doing all the discussing. With two or three exceptions, I don't see too many who can be considered "New" to the forum or who isn't as involved trying to speak up... But Tom has a point that there's only so much of an excuse this can offer. Being new and inexperienced at something isn't an issue that can be solved be merely staying in the corner and acting meek as a mouse. By the very definition of the concept, the only way to stop being new, and stop being inexperienced, is to JUST DO IT. The only solution is to try, because if you try, that opens the doorway for progress, and progress opens the door for grow. So while yes, people being new and feeling abit unsure and intimidated is a factor here, one has to take into account that there is only so much a senior or more experienced member can do to help them and try to bring them out of the corner and learn. We can spend all night and day trying to help them, but if they don't want to take the first step in helping, there's not much we can do for them. We may post all the guides, discussion topics, hyperlink to all the resources we wish, but... if people don't use them, or don't come for further help if they need it, what else are we to do? how else are we to try? You can lead a horse to water, but you can't force it to drink. The excuse only extends so far before one has to ask the question tom Posed; have they at least tried not being a "noob"? tried to get better? Cause if not, well... at the end of the day, people can go blue in the face trying to help you out, but if you don't want to take that first step and lend them a hand, take that first bit of responsibility for yourself and your own improvement, then not much is gonna come out of the endeavor.
  24. Hell Tom, I can't really see anything too glaringly wrong with the layout suggestion. It certainly would help cut down on the amount of clutter and debris floating about here... and if we had an actual plan before we just went to administration about possibly adding subsections, had something we could show them that we've drafted up so that they don't have to rack their own minds... Though rose also has a point about the relative small size of this sub culture here. We don;t have too many RPs like Ymora that get character recruits numbering somewhere upwards of the teens and into the twenties- which is one of the reasons why it stood out so much back during the original. Most of the RPs here are smaller, ten people at the most if they get lucky, maybe more... that small size could be a potential hurdle in a conversation with the Upper Auths about the need for it... And then there's also the matter that alot of the clutter could be cleaned up with just an actually competent use of tags... if people started using them better, that would make the fact that you can't find a particular topic in the main page irrelevant because you could just search at the bottom of anything related to it... but that's beside the point, cause technically... still clutter... but clutter isn't the main objective of this chat... still a potential point we could use though. Right now, I'm trying to just put together whether the plausibility of convincing Ame or Ikaru or someone that this type of addition to the forum would be justified than anything else. Even if we all were to agree that it's needed, it would still be kinda pointless if we had no argument actually put together to present to them...
