  1. Eh, it's fine... before you edit though, I have gone through and done a bit of touching up on my own post This is the new version of it- I actually like it a bit more than the last one. just making sure ya see it. And yes, the eye thing is tied to the electric powers... because all cells run off of electricity, the mitochondria is simply... eh, nevermind, don't want to bore yall...
  2. Again- I'm on the fence about this- the instantly iding him as german thing was really the major issue I have, the lightning is honestly just periphery to that. That and the lack of explanation as to how- which speaking of which I will go and fix in my own post.
  3. I'm sorry, but I'm really on the fence on whether or not to call some of this out as metagaming, @Hiss13. Honestly it seems just far too convenient how easily you had your character recognize the fact that Faust is for one, German, and to a lesser extent, absolutely without any doubt the lightning user. Cause honestly, he's said nothing in german within earshot of any other PC and he's worked to make his accent neutral in terms of any suggestion to a homeland. So really, the only thing that your pc could've logically gone off of was either mind reading or appearance- the latter of which is a complete dud in this case because he could literally hail from any european nation in which there was a sizable blonde populace... so yeah, I'm not seeing much how that could've been so easily and readily deduced. Regarding the information about being the lightning user- it's not having people deduce that he is that I necessarily have the issue with here, it's with how you kinda just disregarded what I posted about him giving Nagi NO response whatsoever- IE, no eye contact, no nods, no nothing- as far as anyone should be able to realistically tell, he'd be completely oblivious to her. He didn't make any response, period. It kinda feels like what I've stated about my own characters actions- or lack thereof, more or less were turned aside right there... like you kinda just plowed through and said "Nope, no autonomy for you." Again, sorry, and I'm really on the fence about this whole thing with those last two posts regarding the situation... maybe I'm wrong and somehow it doesn't qualify as meta gaming- but honestly from what I can see with the more or less lack of real explanation in the writing as to how she can just know exactly what he is on the spot, that's really what's this honestly is coming off to me as being.
  4. {Mareek and Claude} Mareek was silent about it for a minute, glancing at the thunder fox, then the poor sap on the floor... "He can't be that much older than me, a year at most... and he looks kinda preppy- chances are his team is nothing with anymore power than my own could muster, though making that exact comparison could be a stretch. But still, she wouldn't just go using that without a good reason. There's something off about this guy..." "Well, she wouldn't dare use what she was trained with unless she felt one of us was in danger, so... I'm on the fence between helping him and just leaving." He glanced back to Claude, sighing as he took his hand away from the electric type's mane. "But I guess... he'll get far worse if he tries anything afterwards...Tara?" The fennec fixed him with a pointed look, as if asking if he were freaking serious. When he held her gaze steady and unfaltering though, she simply sighed, focusing on the injured party. Her eye's closed and what sounded to be a bell chimed in the hall as a few waves of pulsing dark blue began to crawl their way over the other teen... "You know, I can save a trip to the medical center," said Mareek as the victim of the sound torture was slowly recovering his equilibrium, finally able to uncurl and try to rise from the dust of the barren white tiles... with only so much success so far. "She knows Wish along with Heal Bell- give it a minute or two to kick in and I can guarantee that Tyrunt of yours will be fine, if you're willing, that is..."
  5. The Vaporeon is the one of the twin daughters of his mother's Jolteon. The Skarmory is going to be a shiny male he crosses paths with in year two XD. Since Evan's skarmory is pretty plot centric and already has a personality and everything worked out, I kinda wanted to be able to differentiate easily between the two without having to have any characters scratch their heads if the two were to for some reason stand side by side. He will likely be spanish... like a certain hawk from the movie happy feet...
  6. Alriiiight. looking forward to it. I assume all battles for the chapter will be held there from now on- including ones in which mons are caught afterwards/ training matches against wild mons? also, I updated the roster for this kick ass steel team. proud to say that half the members are "Wearing The Silver" and those half that aren't... eh, they still cool, let em be.
  7. Faust met the girl's gaze, but only in passing, then his attention was more prioritized on the story coming out of the news anchors mouth than the room around him, shaking his head letting out a simple sigh of "It's a damn shame..." as if in sympathy to the report He was by no means oblivious to what was being said though. The others seemed to all be preoccupied talking to one another... except for this one. Hell, from what he could tell, it seemed as though no one else had much even so much as noted his presence here... and yet she alone was glancing at him like that. Blue Lightning had been mentioned, questions made as to who had done it, who had turned night into day for those breif few seconds over that small area? And yet, it seemed no one else felt the need to pay any attention to the blonde man in the doorway... except for this woman here. What, precisely, where the mathematical odds this occurrence, this correlation, was mere coincidence? Faust had been standing here the whole time, and no attention had been diverted away from the socializing because of it- but yet only after this talk of sky fire does even ONE person deign to figure out he's even there? Why so? Why is that? sure, it could be that maybe she was just now noticing the silent man in the doorway, was just now only realizing anyone was even there and was attempting an acknowledgement. But at the same time, the possibility also blared to Faust like a fire alarm that she could well suspect him in relation to his blue bolt for whatever reason. Maybe she truly did suspect him, maybe she did not. Maybe the first train of thought was right, or maybe he should take caution and board the second. maybe Faust was being paranoid, or maybe he was spot on with something. the amount of maybe's piling up about it all could've fed a starving african village for a year if people could eat half hearted deductions of uncertainty stuck half way between yes and no. But It mattered not. For Faust had learned that you hope for the best but prepare for the worst, not the other way around. You go with thine gut if it tells you something, and you only follow the road signs so long as they keep making sense. Either way, whether it was simple curiosity, an attempt at courtesy, or downright actual suspicion, Faust cared not- he would give this woman here no response beyond the passing glance he had already. If he came off as the biggest ass hole in the world for doing so, then so be it- for even that fate was far better than being dead. This was honestly about intelligence and counter intelligence, afterall. it was surveillance in a way- A very, very blatant and frankly not very efficient surveillance, given the fact he was standing right in the god damn room and not listening through a bug somewhere instead- but it was still surveillance none the less. He knew how versatile electrical magic was from his own varied experiences over the last few months... and how that versatility could be mistaken for power, and that perceived power could make many enemies. It would be like a cop going undercover, and then making the blunder of blowing his cover on accident... something he'd had to experience with his father as a boy. While yes, he wanted to maintain the element of surprise if he someday needed it, but Faust also did not want to end up in the hospital with multiple gun-shot wounds barely clinging to life and ending up crippled from the whole ordeal afterwards. Nor did he want to become a mangled little pile of meat under the sword of some other Magi from one of the other factions. He had seen the logic of what he'd been told when the peacekeepers found him. As one of them, he could do as his father once did- keep the peace... just like the name suggested. And as one of them... he could also perhaps avoid a bit of attention he would get as a loner. That was of course, all depending on how well he kept such information as his power hidden. And so unsure whether such a glance as what he'd received was meant as some friendly gesture of acknowledgment to a silent man, or some condemning gesture of a witch hunt, Faust simply stood there like a statue, eyes glued to that television screen, not a single word or look more to the girl as he kept listening to the anchor elaborate. He was going to play it safe here. For it only took one domino to start the fall. And though she might be nothing more than a leaf in the wind- Faust could not ignore the other possibility that she was infact, A domino waiting to set it off. And He refused to die from a single moment of stupidity or lapse in judgement. He would not stand to be killed by a domino. Those were deaths suitable for other men, but deaths he would spend an eternity scolding himself if he dared allowed himself to suffer.
  8. I have decided! it shall be fire/water for the Twins! because I just thought of something awesome in doubles! so... that likely means I will be running skarmory to replace vex and fill Azelstan's slot on the team until such time as he joins late in the story... though I don't know, he might just be chilling out like Ezio- not really doing much fighting since... his entire young life has been fighting and his older life has been more trying to find peace... anyways, I'm liking this team line up. Alot Plus I needed aerial transportation (Beside literally piggy Backing on Erce and holding on for dear life...)! and for the record- I intend to capture my own skarmory, just to clear that up. Don't know if the whole give away from evan is still going on, but either way, I'll be getting one on my own.
  9. America is also using the name of a german man whose grandpapa was a nazi. Don't point out the contradictions here, honey, cause we could be here for a while. and I considered Umbreon but... neh, if there were some moves that create artificial darkness... but there aren't so... now... what to replace the mime with... since Azelstan will likely come in and fill whatever slot it would be occupying up until then... lucario? Mars? Bisharp? I'd consider aegislash if it had a different ability than Stance Change since... it's kinda deffective in this setting. But... perhaps I could ask chimchain if something like stacking it up evenly for the stats would be acceptable. For example, have a flat base stat set of HP 60, Attack 100, Defense 100, Sp. Att. 100, Sp. Def 100, and speed 60 it would have no ability, and in all honestly, the BST would remain the same at 520... it would just be far more well rounded and less... defective. just a thought though. basically, its a tank.. thingy...though I can totally see if this gets shot down because of potential issues with a combo of Kings Shield and Sacred Sword... though people who are going to cheat/ power play will likely find a way to attempt it regardless of the mon. moving on... perhaps durant... Or klefki... steal yo keys if you piss off his master. or perhaps Fortress... or Skarmory... are you noticing the theme here? what I'm specifically trying to avoid? And if I go with Fire/ Water or Fire/ Ice, I'm probably gonna need to run either skarmory or something with levitate to balance it out... EDIT: And I usually don't speak up much about this type of thing because... i get hot quick about it, but he's right kenny. If you're stuck on what to do, there's no shame asking someone more experienced for advice. I'm sure someone could easily help you deduce a course of action that will be acceptable to the rules. We don't bite, afterall... well, I know that at least I don't. I prefer using electricity...
  10. Eh, screw it... seems that any of the Eeveelutions... are fully capable of pulling off the medic role because of access to wish and heal bell. Go figure I might do a bit of Asofai and go with... literal fire and ice... or perhaps fire and water- since those two could reflect the relation ship between Galen and Mareek rather well (hence the color coding used to head my post- Galen=blue, Mareek=red) I like that combo. Can have a bit of fun with steam... whether in doubles or not. that means Mareek would more or less become more of a steel type trainer with two psychics thrown in to tag along. I could... guess just count java as an honorary psychic type for the sake of trying to balance it out since... he can kinda fill the role of one, but it wouldn't be the same without an actual one. I know! I shall have the theme... be Smithery! Steel, Water, and Fire- he's got those types, and you need all that to work metal and what not. Or I could the opposite route and have the theme be how to destroy steel- Steel, Water, and Ice (Cracking) technically we'd need heat, but... who cares? I can still have a bit of fun with a Vaporeon/ Glaceon duo just as I can have fun with a Vaporeon/ Flareon duo. Or maybe I could do an electrocution theme and have one take after their mother... Joltoen/ Vaporeon. Though that one might be a tragic accident waiting to happen, so.... let's not. (Can't have one sister accidentally killing the other) Of course, If I get rid of the psychic part- I could probably replace Vex the mime... he might be fun to screw with people though... invisible barriers being set up everywhere to create a maze for people who happen to piss off his trainer... and he could seal the tops to, and then the exits, and... But if I run the Ice/ Water, I get two good counters to what the team's biggest weakness would be- ground. Hershel takes out Fighters... so does erce in most cases, and Azelstan could hold his own with one of the planned sets. only one weak to fire is hershell and Erce, but Erce has her quad weakness to it completely nerfed thanks to training that started in chapter one and will continue all the way throughout the story... (I mean it, she will never stop heat training). And Kiyone and her sister will be able to play with mist regardless of whether they fight together or not- because I came up with something involving hidden power... oh yeah... I'm liking this. Liking this a whole lot. probably more than I should.
  11. was this before or after he said something about leaving for "A few days" and then never came back after several months?
  12. The Hall Way "Please... please..." Kota weezed from the floor. The world was a complete blur, Snarls and background noise all filtering into one with the big golden blur glaring at him. Top was bottom, bottom was right, right was top, and left... left was just over there chilling and being his usual self... such a damn hipster. He tried to stand, wanted to stand- couldn't stand. Nausea rolled over him like a freight train, how he kept his lunch down, he had no idea, but he was thankful he did. He wasn't hurt from as far as he could tell- at least... not physically. His head though... his head felt like it had split. Footsteps approached. They were Strange. one set that stopped, and then another that followed behind it. A guy with Red hair- from what his royally fucked vision could tell him... dark blue eyes... and that- that thing that golden ball of fur was still snarling at him... still letting off a snap and crackle and pop as it's fur blazed with sky fire. And then some guy with blonde hair or whatever- he honestly gave no damns when some idiot thought it would be a superb idea to open his mouth and shout something about 7 hells and ghosts... "Bird Christ... do you have to yell...?" He managed through clenched teeth, voice barely above a whisper as his body curled in a ball and hands clamped over his throbbing ear canals. The pressure and the ringing grew worse by the moment... {Mareek and Claude} "Hyper Voice..." Mareek answered simply, only now even aware Claude had followed. "Trained by my mother to be fired with a pitch control strong and precise enough to do... well, exactly what that guy there is probably feeling right now." He knelt to eye level and gave the Snarling Jolteon a few jostles of the fur before smoothing down her needle like mane, fingers quickly finding the right place behind the ear. Not even a second afterwards, the fox completely pacified, charge dissipating and head nuzzling Mareek's shoulder. If Claude heard right, the thing might've even been purring a bit... "I haven't even heard her use it since I was a kid though..." He immediately glared at the boy writhing on the floor, not a bit of sympathy anywhere in his eyes. "You wanna explain what happened here, bucko? The only other time I've heard her use that attack was when some jackass thought it would be a good idea to break his way in during the middle of the night... and he was all sorts of fucked up by the time she was through with him." He snarled the word Jackass with a special type of ferocity... but all the boy on the ground could manage was a groan.
  13. Ah yes, the symbology of such a thing... oh hell, I'll probably end up doing just that... Either they'll be twins and Acesco makes it over to Mareek first or Acesco will just outright be the elder of the siblings... which can work even better Though if they're both gonna be like that, I can probably go ahead and change Kiyone over from a Glaceon to some over Eeveelution, since... well, I can probably still make the plan work even with another type... but I just like how Glaceon looks though- dat coldness... Damn, if only Eevee had a steel evolution. I might make her into an Umbreon...or a Leafeon... or maybe just keep her a Glaceon...
  14. I just thought up of where Kiyone could come from... *Looks at Joltara...* Hell, I could do the same thing for Acesco if I wanted, just change her name to something Japanese and bingo- their legit sisters. And Dobby- encase you read that post before I could edit, it stops when Mareek leaves the room, I've taken the other part taking place in the hallway out to give you a bit more flexibility to respond.
  15. {Mareek and Claude} "Yeah... I gue-" before the boy could even finish there came a shrill and rather... wimpish scream from the hallway. in an instant Mareek's eyes were off of claude and on door hanging wide open on the other side of the room. A few very distinctive mixtures of high pitched, piercing cries could be heard even from where he sat, and even now, years and years after the fact, they were still far more than enough to raise the hairs on his neck, even if they weren't directed him, just as they hadn't back then... He knew there was no intent to kill behind them, knew for a fact from the frequency and pitch of the gut in it, but damn it... she still did a terrifyingly excellent job of bluffing, even past her prime... "Oh, Tara..." He sighed, shaking his head. He rose from the chair, glancing at Claude "Look, sorry about cutting this short, but... I should really go see what this is about. There's only one thing in the world that I know uses that specific type of cry... and be that loud and precise while she does it." And with that said, he was out of the door way.
  16. Yes, Defeat! embrace her like mother russia! for defeat paves the surest path to victory in the future!
  17. *Chuckles ominously* Step one? Well, regardless, my good man *Again raises glass* Cheers! may ectoplasm soak the field!
  18. Combining WoW with a tackle like attack to guarantee a burn on java then... Either that or Confuse ray- which again... the light can not prevail... And you said Shade's gonna be fighting on his own right? in the IC? And I'd like to correct something I saw about Lock-on: It doesn't require sight, if it did, how would it possibly find foes moving too fast to see or whom were cloaking themselves or invisible? If anything's on that battle field, it can and will be locked on to if it's used. The move does not fail EDIT: You're going to combine WoW and Ray, aren't you? I can do this all day, the bored side of the force has made me strong...
  19. Oh...what did you mean then? Ever since the whole dispute about whether or not Java would logically get shocked by his own move back during the trip, I automatically assume someone's gonna try to pull that defense in their counter argument against every electric based tactic. Hence the eel retort... Let's see... Icy Wind- obviously plays some part in this... My best guess is to perhaps use tackle or something to create a splash then immediately unleash Icy Wind... though, I may be missing something given that the submersion appears to be something you'd want alongside the discharge...
  20. You realize it's like an electric eel, right? Notice how they manage to shock everything but themselves even in the water and everything? Yeah, from what the games and the anime and manga all present, it seems the same basic principle applies. Don't underestimate me, my good man. I have been bored for a very long time and have spend a bit too long browsing bulbapedia! :Kappa:
  21. I'll give you another hint. Discharge V Ice Field, Dragon Trip of October. And the wind chill would realistically only affect the water down to a certain depth, which likely wouldn't be more than a few feet below the surface tops. And it's a deep pool from the measurements given... *Tips own hat* And remember, my good fellow, Defeat can make you more powerful in the end if you are able to learn from it! Hence why I threw the match against jacob on the trip... look how much Mareek learned! He acquired shock tactics and freezing tactics, all from that one bout, as well as ways to deal with confuse ray... Because, my good man, Defeat teaches more than victory ever could. one need only realize that...
  22. And I've more or less made the whole move of Confuse Ray worthless thanks to the fact that it's light based... Case and point old nemo back during the trip. Oh screw it, enough talk of battle- let us save our breath for when it is time to actually FIGHT! *Raises Glass* To our upcoming bout- may it be well written! also: RIP Kota Blood, May Joltara have mercy on your soul (I'm tempted to have her chase him down the hall like a little bitch in my next post...)
  23. Speed don't matter, If Java goes after Shade for whatever reason- he's gonna have time to analyze. And if you're gonna pull shadow sneak tactics, guess whose always gonna be moving after? Java. Let's be realistic, speed is not as important to it as who goes first. Java can and will sit there and let an opponent make the first move and keep doing that and playing second banana on the battlefield if he knows doing so gives him the advantage. And Mareek will order him to do so too. EDIT: here is my proof: http://prntscr.com/6rra5h What matters is whether or not an action has been taken before hand by the opponent, says so plain as day. Patience is a virtue, afterall
  24. Let her down? The sound clip of a shotgun cocking in his ear ground the train of thought to a screeching halt. "Still got cold feet eh? Alright- Let's get bla-" "I just wanted to say-" Mareek blurted out, jamming the mute button in his pocket and killing the music. Too bad Java wouldn't allow it- the damn song was gonna blare in his ear the entire damn time... "I'm sorry about earlier, with me acting like a dick and everything." Java gave the slightest of nods over the boy's shoulder, a satisfied look in his eyes as he ended the music stream. "I guess I let myself get so... caught up in the situation that I... honestly forgot myself and started acted like the very type of person I hate." Meanwhile in the back of the room the Golden Fox's ears perked yet again. Without a sound, her fur bristled, cracked and popped as a cold aura began to form around her... then she hopped out of the chair and headed towards the door opposite the one Claude had entered through, unseen to anyone, fangs barred and ears twitching...
