PLEASE DO NOT POST ANYTHING IN THIS THREAD EVER! DUE TO THE LARGELY CW RELATED NATURE OF THIS, THERE IS A SEPARATE DISCUSSION THREAD FOR QUESTIONS AND SUCH! http://www.pokemonreborn.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=13666 Introduction and mission statement of this Thread So, with that long ass intro done... let's begin. So... I guess the first entry, begins with PSS in a way. I went through a period where I simply could not accept the many mistakes I kept making in that tale- marked by the second coming of the soldier you all know and love as the good Lt.Surge- which was honestly, that time around, just me trying to escape my own identity and pretend to be someone else for the sake of not having to face what I had screwed up with. This lasted for a good month or so, and eventually, I just stopped caring, took of the mask, and accepted it for what it is, looked at what went on, and ultimately decided to discontinue everything, taking away the lessons I'd learned from the experience. But when I cast off the mask of Lt.Surge, I was still not the fellow whom had created the world of Project Sky Slayer, now, before the second coming of Surge- I was Stratos valgiri, a man who had slain the gods in his own little fantasy realm. When I emerged, I was Zerron, an individual ready to accept the fact that he had fucked up many times, and was willing and ready to learn from his mistakes and walk away with the lessons in tow. And now I am Faust... but it is different this time- right now, I am Faust only because I was bored and had Rupees laying around. So...where is all this heading, you may ask? Well, PSS was, in all honesty, my first ever genuine fantasy story. I mean it, all my life up until the day I started working on that sometime in my freshman year of high school, some two and a half years ago or so, I had always written... Science Fiction. I read Fantasy, I watched fantasy, but never Science Fiction, and yet... Sci-Fi had always been my jam, even back in Middle School before my interest in books really started to increase considerably. I just automatically defaulted to it- I don't know why, so don't bother asking. Now... as I said, Sci-Fi was my JAM when it came to writing myself. But all that time, I had constantly exposed myself to great works of fantasy, and so... when I finally got around to doing a work of fantasy myself- I wanted more than anything else in the world... just to do it well. I wanted to be proud of it, to live up to the expectations I myself had set of so many great fantasy authors whom's beautiful volumes I'd allowed my pre-teen mind to indulge itself in. That was honestly the issue, I suppose. I was young, Ambitious, and hasty. I had no idea of what writing truly was- I thought it to be a simple talent like anything else, like being able to sing or fight or be creative... I thought that some people were just naturally born with the power to write such engrossing works, that it was a simple niche, predetermined at one's birth. I was completely ignorant to how wrong I was- I had no idea... that Writing is not a talent, is impossible to itself be a talent, but is instead the culmination of many skills into a single field of art. The field of writing was small in my mind, and like some country peasant, I was unable to see beyond the green pastures of blue skies of my birthplace. So when PSS happened, actually breathed and took life... I was freaking elated- I thought I'd done it, that I had the "Gift", that if I could get it up, everything would be fine and easy afterwards. Yeah, no. That illusion shattered like tissue paper very fast and very, VERY hard. An enraged bull would've been more merciful than the cutting and stinging shards of what my little reality had previously been. Things deteriorated because I was ignorant, because I was arrogant, and because I, in the end, simply did not comprehend the significance of writing, of creating worlds and giving their peoples life. I understood that when you write fiction, you are taking license to play god. What I did not realize, was that you do not learn how to play god in a single day. Eventually, through my hiding behind the mask of Surge, I came to realize that Writing truly is a craft. that there is no such thing as natural talent in this field, that all writers hate their own work at some points... and that everyone must start from somehwere. What so many around me, friends and fellow roleplayers from the subforums here, finally clicked after a time. And so I cast aside Surge, and I faced my dragon. And my dragon is dead now. But by no means does this mean I gave up on Fantasy. Oh no, quite the opposite. I've been trying rather vehemently to raise another world from the ashes of the dragon's corpse, one that this time, I shall take more time, more caution, and more wisdom as I create it, mold it, and let it live. This... is what I can see for that world: I imagine it as a world where the key focus, is none other than magic, which in PSS was honestly a bit spotty in coverage, lacking consistency because the laws and rules of magic were never truly drafted- a long history had been, but no doctrine to govern it's physical laws. But in this world, I have already done some work for laws to govern and regulate how I must write such magic. I have found the right questions to ask and answered them appropiately. Now, in this world... Magic is everything- the dominant force in the world. The tools of the landed and the wealthy, the power of entire nations. A great and terrible force, which in the past has been used fro great destruction of the continents and the moon, leaving half the world scarred and ugly with weapons of mass magical destruction, and the moon split in twain, a mother torn apart by the birth of her twins. This magic will have it's own love affair with science My intentions for this world are largely to use Anime Logic to a degree to try to stem the remaining learning curve I still have from being naturally inclined to defualt to Science Fiction. To perhaps soften the landing, help me get used to it all and test the new waters once more- this time equip with lifejacket, unlike my tread with Project Sky Slayer. I of course know that simply using Anime Logic will not be enough, but the issue is, I tried too hard to use realism in PSS, and perhaps by allowing myself to learn to dial back just a little, I will be able to tune to a proper balance in time. More on the magic of this world though. If anyone has seen the 2010 Film, The sorcerer's Apprentice, then perhaps they will recognize this a bit, as I admit to having been somewhat inspired by the interesting explanation given for how Magic works on an electro-magnetic frequency to cause change in the world. Thus familiar with Philotic theory will also notice a few elements of that present as well The most basic units of all matter and all energy in this world, are particles known as "pholtes". These particles actually do not exist within the world itself, but rather outside of it all, in the void surrounding the planet, the moon, the stars. It is pholtes that are responsible for all things in the world- they are what created the first atoms, what caused atomic fission, compounds to form, life to start, fire to burn, so on and so forth, in some premeval era of existance in which there was not but the would. It is from Pholtes that all things sprang forth, and within them are the blueprints for all things that have been, will be, and are currently, and may possibly become. Pholtes are what created humans and all life forms. As such, they are bound to all life forms and all things. Connected like a web. But life... it is just one of the many final outcomes of Pholtes, so far removed from it's origin, that though it is connected, it can not feel the beat of it's own mother's heart anymore- so far removed, that all that most basic life forms now lack the ability to sense the connections between all beings via the Pholtic Force. Humans included. Enter Death Crystals. Small, Black crsytals and gems that from time to time, will crop up in places where great death or violence has transpired. Battlefields, sacrificial chambers, gallows, just to name a few possible places. These crystals are created by one thing- the raw energy given off when a life form experiences death, and thus it's energy, everything that made up it's physical body returns to the Pholtic Force. This energy, strongest in the creatures central nervous system, this electro magnetic, cerebral mind power, circulating throughout an entire being and giving it's brain the power to control the greater body... this energy burst outward at death, and returns to the void in the vast majority of cases (Will discuss later if I feel like it). But when it returns it great, concentrated quantities all at once, such as during battles, mass sacrifices or executions, or massacres... this energy, sometimes, it does not all return. sometimes there is just too much for it all to find it's path back to the void where it may become pholtes once more. And when this happens, that excess force that can not find it's way back... transmute into physical matter once more, and Death Crystals form in the area of the incident. Why are Death Crystals so important? because of the Death aspect. Death allows release and a new beginning, allows for a beings energy to be recycled and reused, so that creation may go on infinitely without end, the universe ever expanding. Under normal circumstances, to protect the integrity of life forms, it is most usually impossible for a complex life form to be able to discharge it's energy, it's life force, you could say, from it's own body. If it tries, most often what occurs if nothing. the energy simply hits the wall of the beings flesh, bounces back, and remains in the system of the life form. When a Life Form comes into contact with a Death Crystal however... this integrity means nothing. Contacting a Death Jewel, the pure, solidifiied mass of released energy from death that should not exist in the world, this energy which because of it's nature, is not bound by the same laws as it normally would've been, is exempt... it allows for a the life form to go into a "Death State" A state in which they are free to expell their energy at will through the medium of the Death Jewel they hold- a state in which the one scientific law forbidding such a thing now means nothing to them. And what happens to the energy expelled at will, you ask? Why, it is what ultimately forms magic. When neural force is expended, expelled from the body, is only done so with a purpose- and with no where else to go and nothing else to do, it follows it's programming, and to the void it ventures. Think of what I am going to describe as a mafia analogy. A mob boss, in this case, the mage, gives his enforcer, IE, the mages energy, orders. The enforcer then leaves to carry out said orders, and to aid him in this quest, the enforcer gathers an appropiate number of grunts (Pholtes) for the job. That is, in a nutshell, how it works. Because expelled life force is in and of itself no longer bound by the constraints it once was, it is far closer to the Pholtic force, and as such, it can interact and direct it to it's own programming. And because pholtes hold infinite possibilities, this ultimately results in magic being possible- this perfect storm of variables. The Energy, now with Pholtes in tow, returns to the area it is to affect, and the Magic comes into being as the "Grunts" of the analogy go to work with the boss's orders. That is all for now. I know not when I shall return, but it will likely be soon... I can feel power in this idea, something good that I like.

something entirely different. He joins the team (forces his way on more like it) in year one and thats where everything starts. After torturing the boy psychologically and trying to control him for a short time, Erce and Java and the team becomes privy and Erce, as the boy's protector, takes it upon herself to remove the threat from their midst. Erce royally beats his ass, destroys his ball thus releasing him- and he gets exiled the first time. time passes, during the second year, he eventually evolves into a gothitelle on his own and goes home to the lake in the academy forest and begins stalking people again... including Galen. until Azelstan finds him, gets pissed because he's corrupting the youth, damn near kills him but holds back and ultimately tells him to GTFO or die- He leaves again, this time with no where to go and becomes a vagrant. More time passes, he's finally able to get some type of concrete plan in place, moves against Erce and Mareek and Azelstan somehow. Final confrontation ensues somehow, and everyone knows from experience that exile is not enough- ergo... Sebastian is finally killed because he's proven himself to be too damn vindictive and dangerous to let live. at that point, if they let him go again, all of them will be dead, so it's them or him, and they're gonna choose themselves. it basically is mroe or less the same structure as Achilles de Flandres progression during the Shadow Series by Card. He does shit and proves time and time again he's too damn dangerous to let live, and finally they kill him like is nessacary. his death is a symbol of the past finally being slain and the darkness it was engulfed in with it, and the path to the future finally beginning to open for the red head. (Basically, it's his "vader turns back to a jedi" moment) EDIT: also, I REALLY suggest we all stop talking about moves like Safeguard and Metal Burst and Counter until Chimchain himself gives the ultimate verdict on what to do with them and just drop it for now.
-
*Stares kubrikly for a moment...* Anyways, disregarding safeguard and metal burst and such until chim can say something in regards to it- If you're taking up Avalugg, I can give you the planned final moveset I had for it. I had several infact, one involving... safeguard. but many others that do not. See, I like to think ahead. if one idea gets shot down, I got more and more to fall back to as needed, all thanks to this little notebook of mine... EDIT: ah... it warms my heart to see someone besides myself using vacuum wave...such an excellent move if one knows how to use it... hey, wait a minute... that thing was running Vacuum Wave this entire time?
-
Meanwhile... how many explicitly dangerous mons does Mareek final team have? *Goes and looks*... I bet the answer will be very ironic...
-
Eh, don't feel bad, I got the same situation with Mareek- though I eventually plan to gradually reveal more and more on the topic of his father over time. Since Alexandra is the one still alive though, she's been getting most of the backstory and such shined a bit upon so far... but the ghost of papa will get his own side of the tale soon enough... EDIT: also, for some reason, I would not trust James with a hydreigon... literally any other psuedo, but that one... EDIT2: That's why I'm taking it upon myself to try to balance it out and suggest it be treated like Superpower and tire out the user over time. Like little by little, the strain from using it against so many attacks becomes too much and exhaustion sets in. And Recovery/ Wish won't remove the exhuastion just to nerf any abusers. Basically a mon could be at full health thanks to an abuse of recover/ wish, but it wouldn't matter cause they would still straight up slump over asleep from the exhaustion and be unable to battle

alright, I not 100% certain, but Brienne might start with Metal Burst and just get D-rush much later on (probably as an aggron) if she gets it at all. It's just that with the Anime's mechanics and portrayal of Metal Burst as somr ball that absorbs and sends back the attack with even more power, it would make it easier for me to write about her backstory and her father's actions... in comparrison to having the explaination be that he killed them all with the fires of draconic rage... though with Metal Burst, he would've had a much easier time surviving the fight... since the adrenaline from D-rush is kinda what got him all those inju- ya know what? no more spoilers, I've said enough... I'll figure it out. If I decide to use it in place of D-rush I think i might have it work a bit like Superpower to balance it out- using it in excess tires out the user at a faster and faster rate as the fight drags on. I'd suggest probably doing the same thing with Safeguard because of it's portrayal in the anime as well (go look at it- that shit works better than protect, reflect, and light screen...)

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: The Return(OOC)
Sutoratosu replied to grasssnake485's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
yeah, dog, chill. I got's ya'll, ain't gonna forget bout mah boys... -
hmmmm........dayum... I just recalled that the Aggron line gets Metal Burst...and I want me some heavy metal burst... but I know that for a starting moveset, it would absolmolutely unacceptable to have both D-rush and heavy Metal Burst... I needs to choose between the wrath of a dragon or some hardcore rock and roll... this may well be the most difficult decision I will ever have to make... EDIT: if she gets D-rush, I'll be using her more in a panzer tank role like Miyuki, just minus the cloak of mist and such... if she gets Metal Burst, I'll have to go the more traditional slow american tank pattern, taking hits and dishing them out... but a panzer easily kills an american tank from the same time period... hmmmm...

seriously. I'm beginning to get serious about this whole magic thing. That's the easy explanation here, don't make this fight harder than it has to be...GF logic will wreck ya if ya ain't careful... like with Toxic- the same question goes or almost every species... answer: they create it at that very second by using... Magic. really though, I think that's all it is at the end of the day- Pokemans are just wizards and shit, able to cast some wierd ass magic, and trainers are basically their personal managers who, while unable to use their wierd ass magic themselves, is familiar with it because they've studied them from afar for so long and ergo able to use "science" to help them bring out their full potential and teach them "Spells' they would not have figured out on their own...
-
Gamefreak logic is a formidable foe to face indeed, my friends... do not enter this battle lightly, for he is far more powerful than he outwardly appears...
-
That would be bad ass though if you did... but anyway, maybe we should tone it down a little... this IS gamefreak logic we're up against here, afterall... trust me, I've dealt with such a foe before, am still fighting him in fact, and he is not to be underestimated... he has many fallacies and many tricks to deceive you, and just when you think you've won... he hits you with an Alakazam that can somehow use Iron Tail.

Lols, I love how much this feels like Surge Story right now, with everyone sitting down and putting their heads together trying to rationalize pokeman... Oh the memories... Surge approves this message. Hes in the... opposite waiting room of James, I guess. And you don't have to worry about claude, that fox's eyes are damn good and she won't act unless she needs to (IE, if Erce were to go down and the other two...) she's just being quiet to maintain the element of surprise in such a case. So yeah, she won't misfire or anything because of mistaken identity. You good brah, you good. Same goes with Nemo and Java- The orphan knows exactly what the guy looks like, and Java uses Nemo as a cue to action, so again, you good.
-
That leaves us one question though, Doctor Dobby... how in the hell can these fellows do it? Cause my best guess is that perhaps the same organ structure or whatever that's responsible for causing lightning rod as a possible ability in the species is somehow also capable of generating electricity of it's own... though only enough that it can be gathered on the body but can't actually be discharged in a ranged burst like Thunderbolt or Chargebeam that's literally the best explanation I've been able to deduce (And it's kinda Java's whole justification in how he thinks he'll be able to teach the orphan rather quickly in the art of lightning bending thunder punching) EDIT: However, however however however... (Scuse me, gonna break my own theory here) Rhyhorn and such also has lightning rod- yet can use thunderbolt... so, my thoery may be kibaashed... oh screw it, I don't care, he has access to thunder punch for some reason so I'm just not even gonna question this one... though, in place, I could have him run hid- alright, I'm done... *Leaves the lab*

[OOC/Sign-ups] Surge Story
Sutoratosu replied to Sutoratosu's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Enough kenny, you've been a great help in this effort and your work is appreciated, but at this point I'm pulling it back and am just gonna finish the types myself... since it was supposed to be a thing involving everyone in the RP but for a long while it's only been two people (Inlcuding myself in that count) who are actually... discussing it. So, yeah, I'm gonna pre fill out all the charts myself, slap em up here in order and if anyone sees an issue they can voice it. cause at this point, we're just racking up more filler page count in this OOC that has nothing to do directly with events in the RP This will make it go faster because I'm going to do ALL the remaining types before allowing for a public forum debate, so we can literally do three or four at a time and get this done. Also- I have no idea whatever happened to Super, but for some reason I have the very ominous suspicion it wasn't exactly something very good... kinda like a gut thing, IDK... nothing I can do about it anyways though.- 1189 replies

Yeah, even though I've got something similiar with Nemo, I gotta agree with commander considering... Nemo's a ground type, Ferrothorn is not. that and the fact that Nemo more or less has learned to use his ability to channel it around his body, not actually store it and try to supercharge himself, since... naturally, that would make no sense given his typing. Now if he was a pikachu or a pachirisu or any chu/ electric type- it'd be a different story with the charging. So yeah, you're pushing it real hard with that one. Channeling is the least BS way to go, but even then, the auto paralysis would likely be a very likely outcome... because it's not a ground/electric type. Now, I have a few ideas on how steel types can block electricity from notes and things that I've straight up stolen from the anime, but... ha, like I'm gonna actually share them before the time is right.

Pokémon Academy: Ch 3: Winter Cup [IC]
Sutoratosu replied to Chim's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Kota "Hmm...ya, know, you're kinda cute yourself..." The chocolate toned Student mused, a playful twinkle in her as she looked Kota over again. The boy would've been red as a cardinal had he not have gotten used to it long ago... "I could say the same for you, but... sadly I'm already taken... such a shame..." "Uh, yes, thanks," He said, moving to change the subject. The girl's Torkoal and Spinda both eyed him, heads titled as they took turns circling around. Tork gave a heated cry and blew a puff of smoke, snorting... this boy here was nothing special, He'd seen sexier in his day. the Spinda simply gave a loud "Spind!" When exactly was 'back in tork's day'? The stone age? Tork glared at her... before nodding his head. Spinda's ears shoot straight up, as did her eyes as she gave a slight jump back. "But uh... I'm afraid I'm off the market, terribly sorry bout that. But if you could just be so kind as to-" "Damn..." She sighed, shaking her head. "Yeah yeah, fine... Last I saw of Mr. Hotshot- he was in the waiting room talking back and forth to that Porygon of his like a crazy guy or something. I'd show ya there, but, if you're taken... well, I don't wanna get in between any Mrs and her man, just ain't right." She winked, flashing him a playful grin. "Erm... thanks, I guess..." And with that the blonde was on his way again. Half of him didn't want to go though... even if he was taken, this one's personality was rather... interesting- a breath of fresh air in the meadow of snoppy wealth, one could say. "Mother would never approve... but then again, she would never approve of anyone if I didn't absolutely bullshit the degrees of their worldly accomplishments to her liking. If only I'd gotten her name though..." Mareek "How interesting..." The red head said, leaning back in the chair as the next match was just being announced. "Guess I might be facing the blind guy afterall..." "So, Java... that's exactly what they both just said?" Java nodded, confident in the translation as he hovered over the trainer's shoulder. The Cubone and Scyther stood to either side, Erce parring her claws against one another, eye's meandering about the room, searching, waiting... "Alright then, I don't know whats the deal between my mom and this Lucille woman, but if this son of hers or whatever is gonna try something..." He cast a glance to the young swordsman as he tapped the club in his palm mafia style for what had to be at least the third time that very day. "Then he can try it with his bare hands- Nemo, watch the door, if you see the same guy from before, you trip him with bonerush as soon as he comes in- don't break anything though- and i want minimum bruising, understand?" The orphan nodded, eyes gleaming with his first true call to duty. "And Java, as he falls, you confiscate his capsules with psybeam." Java nodded as well... "Good. and now... we wait, I guess." Unseen to any of them though, was the thunder fox in one of the many seats against the wall, head and belly resting on the plastic and eyes fixed on the boy all the while...just within range to hit the doorway with a Pin Missile or two... all she need to see was that ashen blonde hair and those grey eyes...- 1255 replies

Chim has already said he was somewhat based off of him when I made the inquiry as to whether Pierre was gonna be the Achilles de Flandres of the RP's plot. Speaking of Achilles de Flandres- I've decided to ultimately have Sebastian be killed eventually after being exiled both times. Someday we will see how well Azelstan and Erce can fight together... I'll have Seby be the final step in Mareek's overall journey from a sith the dark back into light like his bro has already made/ is currently making. Kinda like how Vader killed sideous... someday he will have to give the order... and take out the psychotic Gothitelle hell-bent on getting vengeance and destroying all that he loves and holds dear. EDIT: and I did it. the whole adding in the led zepplin to the slap scene XD

Yes. But then again, I just enjoy it when asswipes and psychos and scumbags get what they deserve in general. Would it be bad if I admited that when he choked on his own blood and vomit at his wedding banquet, deep down inside, I was going "FUCK YEEEEEEAAAAAAH!" and wanted to high five whoever was the culprit? Maybe I just hate jeoffrey a bit more than others because... he killed mah boy Ned... Took his head right off dem honorable, noble shoulders *Sheds single manly tear*

She's more for CD purposes like Jeor was, but she's gonna fill the same role as him more or less- a panzer tank that disappears in the mist and uses the cover to it's advantage. Basically, mildly evasive, likely relying on priority quick attack/ aerial ace to manuever, but main focus is on being able to withstand a blow or two... which she can do a more rounded job of than jeor given the higher spec. defense. Well it honestly depends cause I don't know exactly when she's gonna evolve... might be before the finals, might be after, it really depends on a number of factors. And He still has to apologize to cluade, by the way, the whole pompous dick routine from earlier ended a good while ago when Java went full-force Tyrion lannister and proceeded to bitch slap him like this right here: So yeah... if he sees him, that's the first thing he would do. And Java's not the type to let him forget (not that he would, but if he somehow did...) EDIT: you know what? I'm going back to that slapping scene, and I am editing in this song to it. BRB...
-
I've updated the planned encounters for Mareek during the first year in order from the current point onwards Brienne Acesco (will evo into Espeon) Sebastian, you bastard... Miyuki (Jeor's replacement, will evo into Glaceon) whether or not Miyuki is obtained in the first year or the second depends on whether the limit of six mons at the end of year one is dependent on the number of team members who... don't get their asses handed to them and exiled (IE, those who actually stay on the team), or on the number that is actually caught regardless of whether one is... released. In either case, Acesco will be joining before Sebastian for reasons for her own character development and so that the role can be filled even with the bastard gone, as well as the fact that the whole situation will be what causes her to ultimately evo into an Espeon. And sebastian is honestly going to either manipulate his way on or outright pull a stunt of mind fuckery to get in, so... I personally would see it more of an infiltration doomed to fail very soon afterwards than an actual capture... but again, it all depends on how the limit works exactly. EDIT: and dobby, I thought we's was gonna have us a battle of bugs? XD
-
*Uses copy and paste... It's Super-Effective!* Full Team Roster: Nemo will be learning Thunder punch in place of headbutt once the second round is done though. I also plan to have Brienne encountered and join during the same time frame. Also, as for the overall Roster, I'm considering maybe turning Jeor into a Glaceon... the relationship and metaphors could still work just as well... EDIT: Also, natures don't actually matter anything here, right? cause from what I've seen from like every battle in this RP thus far, it appears that's the case...
