Hmmm... I guess.... infact, I can already think up of ways to take out an armored Lance even with Iron Defense being ran... though wouldn't a battle between two steel armored bugs still be more entertaining than one steel armored bug trying to chase around a ninja bug? eh, well, guess we'll just have to wait and see...

Erce would have to be evolved into Scizor just to make it even relatively even or interesting though... XD
-
Just accept the fact that Erce will always be superior to others of her kind, lols... she's got that intelligence going for her. And I'm assuming that Reflect and Lightscreen work more like the move Protect here than it does the games functioning, basically a one shot deal where the user has to be focused on the screen the whole time and can't just leave it up unattended.... at least, that's what I'm getting looking at the anime depiction. anyways, I finished drafting the roles of the next three team members (Who will all appear in year two): Azelstan will probably be the first one obtained in the second year, followed by Delphi and then Melis, all three already fully evolved upon encountering 'cuase... fire emblem. Can anyone guess where Azelstan's theme and character comes from? anyone? Without google?

I just now realized... that I only write serious, darker characters and personas because I want to see some genuine growth and development from them by the end of the conflict. And doing so allows for an easy measurement of such in the end- having a solemn, driven person become someone who has learned what it means to live and how to enjoy the small shit is easier to notice and point to, IMO, than a character who started out all nice and happy... and by the end of the story was still more or...

Guess I just believe to be good, a story must have some deep emotional struggle in it from those acting it out. I realize that's just how I feel at the end of the day, and no one can talk me out of this conviction.
-
Which in turn means:
Fuck it. There's always gonna be a struggle for my OCs, somewhere deep in their souls, there always will be- even if their "Lighter" in overall nature.

The second attempt- the new world... and this time it will be built properly, and magic will function like physics... and sins of the past will begin to repeat themselves as lost things are rediscovered.

oh no, sensai, but we are... for there are secrets in the lost lands... great and terrible secrets... secrets that many a modern nation would like to have at their lips and in their hearts... but yeah, basically it's rocky and... hot as hell during the "Warm" years and frozen and constantly bound in snow during the cold years...
-
If you say so lol. I just personally don;t believe in going overboard lol. There is a point where too much detail is a bad thing. Always keep this in mind. ((not saying this is an issue here, just keep that in mind lol.))
-
For this is beginning of the new age of the world... the era of replicated sin...
It is the Era of Avarsong

Hey, I'm currently looking at Son Jeor's moveset for the future, and I got a quick question: Does the move Superpower cause the same lowering of Attack and Defense afterwards here as it does in the games, or does it function more like the anime and manga's portrayal where there's no displayed drawback to using it?
-
Yeah well, I'm leaning more towards Lucida Sans Unicode anyway... curious quote though XD though in all honesty, after an advanced period of time passes, I'll likely just stop differentiating Java's spoken dialogue with fonts altogether and just use Arial like regularly
-
no. while he could and does, even now, is able to make such noises, to my knowledge the dubious disk shouldn't prevent him from being able to communicate in human languages, only make him act a bit... odd at times. Think of something like that crazed AI from portal, GLADOS, except without the homicidal tendencies and what not. Well, mostly without.... basically he'll just act eccentric and vexing every now and again.
-
BTW, just for future reference so everyone knows: Java's dialogue modes are differentiated by different fonts- With Courier New denoting spoken dialogue, and Times New Roman denoting dialogue appearing in the form of text on screens of electronic devices and the like. The Courier New however will eventually change to a bit more elegant font (EX, Lucida Sans Unicode, or Trebuchet MS, or Comic Sans MS) once he eventually evolves into Porygon-Z and becomes able to generate more natural sounding voices on his own without the medium of an actual device
-
Oh...damn, I see what you mean XD well... for electric resistant rain setters, there's: Quagsire, Gastrodon, Semistoad, Nidoqueen/ King, Rhyhorn line, Mamoswine, Whiscash, Claydol, Stunfisk... that's just naming a breif few. here, look.
-
but chim... one needn't rework it all if one pulls a Pokemon Reborn and simply comes up with ways to counter the weakness... I can come up with a few off the top of my head from what's worked in the anime and common sense (To work against Electricity)...
-
Yeah, not really feeling it for bastidon... I'd be more open to the consideration if it weren't for the mediocre ability to strike back after taking blows... not really seeing the potential here overall. Eh, screw it, I'm going with Aggron... I'll call him Barristan. I can do more with him than with Steelix Hmmm nah...damn... guess I must leave this up to a cast of the di EDIT: In a fight, who would win? Ser Barristan Selmy, or Sandor Cleagane? I know it's a rather obvious question to anyone who knows the lore and characters from asoiaf, but... EDIT 2: Eh... eh...well, Sandor's already dead more or less because... brienne XD so... I guess I must go with... Barristan, which means... Aggron. I can run him like a tank, like with Son Jeor... which he actually makes a better one than the ice type.
-
I might initiate something for it a bit later in the chapter, though it might be a bit hard to come up with a beleivable motivation to just wander into the forest. Depending on time constraints I might just save the entire thing for off screen in between chapter 3 and 4, though I also kinda want her to be encountered while Erce herself is still unevolved because of the ongoing symbolisms I have going on for steel types and the relation to body guards and personal defense (which Is why I want a third steel type, still debating between either Steelix or Aggron, since Erce has a mix of Speed, Physical and Special defense, Brienne is a bit slower but has good Special Defense, and so the third needs to be slowest yet have high physical defense to complete the triangle)... hmmm... I might just have to have Nemo be the initiating factor later on after he evolves and begins to develop the habit of occasionally...slipping away on his lonesome, have Mareek and Erce and Java go looking for him, and...
-
So just out of curiosity, where would one find a Prinplup/ Empoleon? If I decide to have him obtain Brienne a bit later on and levels allow it, I'd prefer for her to already be fully evolved because of the pride thing and whatnot demanding she return the favor. though I can still make finding her as a Prinplup work as well EDIT: most of the join ups for Mareek's team is going to be like Fire Emblem in a way- gathering companions as he goes along as they either decide to join up or become indebted/ convinced to follow by other team members (Most probably Java who will do the talking)

Trust me, he's going to run Delphox in place of Magmortar. There's already enough animosity in the phantom of the relationship with his sibling (Who is honesly the virtual equivalent of Voldemort in his mind) without trying to artificially inject some superficial, trivial bullshit into it about how a certain fire type hates a certain electric type and wants to kill it every opportunity it gets... since some others on his team will have similar reactions anyway.
-
Wait a minute... yes I do: -Delphi This one right here.just saving her for year 2. She's just not meant for defense, but instead for speed and evasive maneuvering. Plus she'll likely be running a fairy type move in the final set, so... anyways... Mr.Mime is a maybe... a big MAYBE, encase hell happens to freeze over and the distortion world fills with ice and fairy types, but I might go for another steel type just to bring the count up to three and continue the ongoing metaphor with the character's development (It should be pretty obvious what it is)... thinking of a toss up between either Bronzong, Steelix, Bastidon, Probopass, or Aggron... though I'm honestly looking a little more at Probopass and Bronzong because of the spec. defense stat EDIT: God damn it... now Mr.Mime is starting to grow on me the more I think about it...I don't know, maybe...maybe... but I still want another steel...XD EDIT2: Or hell... maybe what I might do is this: Swap out Florgess for another steel type, but change Magmortar into a Delphox and keep the same nickname... yeah, think I'll go that route... because Melisandre and the theme I'm gunning for there goes better with and makes more sense with a Delphox anyway. AND Delphox can see the future... yeah, makes much more sense.

so, I finsihed reworking things for the party members of the first year. Here's the roles and everything: There's something ominously fitting about Java's theme...perhaps it's the dub step, or the part about having lost one's mind... Basic Gist: Erce acts in the role of the Sworn Guardian for Mareek, much like Mars serves as one for Alexandra. She'll be the one always by his side and always keeping an eye out, just like her old mentor with his own ward. She also acts in the capacity of the restraining force and the moral compass, keeping the boy from doing things in certain matters where he absolutely loses his shit and gives into the hate. Java acts kinda in the same role as Miller from MGS- a deputy commander who helps keep shit together and run the place. Nemo acts in the role of your stereotypical government spy/ ninja/ Whisperer, occasionally wondering off of his own accord when he feels something needs to be investigated or examined and gathering intel Brienne acts in the role of an allusion to Brienne of Tarth from Game of Thrones, and is Erce's "Sworn Sword" of sorts, basically a back-up gaurdian (IE, Erce's right hand). Son Jeor's name is an allusion to Son Goku and to Lord Commander Jeor Mormont from Game of Thrones, and he acts in the role of the tank and the last resort/ the last hope of survival. His relationship with Mareek will be one of a reflectively ironic nature of parent and child, and he will ultimately come to mimic his papa, reflecting the facade Mareek puts on to face the world, while at the same time reflecting what is in his inner heart beneath it all. And the Good Doctor Swiss will act as the mediator and the medical professional whose not too terribly adapt at offense and is better with words than fist. Basically he's like Huey from MGS, just with a medical skill set instead of a tech one. EDIT: speaking of Swiss, I'm considering kicking Florges clear off the overall roster since the roles have changed, but I honestly don't know what to replace her with... though, I'm a bit tempted to say YOLO and go with Steelix for her slot... or maybe Klingklang... Klingklang seems a bit interesting...

Java((Before Zared's arrival)) Yes, that's right... just let the little dragon keep eating. Java wouldn't be surprised if the fire type didn't even recognize him... not in the least bit; victors seldom took the time to learn the faces of those who had fallen before them. But enough... it was honestly beginning to disturb the normal type how much this was getting to him- just being in the same presence of the beast. He'd never be able to focus on the next fight if he... hey... wait a minute... A small chime reminiscent of what one would get to signify an incoming email rang from Mareek's pocket. "We need to make it to the finals..." blared across the screen in bold size 12 times new roman... So much for not getting overly wrapped up in the vendetta. "So that that thing and I-" "What the hell are you going on about all of a sudden?" Mareek whispered hoarsely... though he took a glance over at the complacent spitfyre nearby and instantly had a hunch. "Oh god damnit. Java, look, it was months ago, you haven't lost since... granted that's because you've mostly been training instead of actually fighting- but still... just let it go already." "Don't fucking sit here and tell me to let something go when here you are, high and mighty, plotting to dismantle the IP from the inside out all because of something that happened years ago!" "..." He glared at the screen, fingers moving to take out the battery of the device. "Wait, Wait!- I apologize... that was low. I... don't know why, but I simply can't just... 'let it go'. Not until I have another chance to face... him. I can't explain it, it's like... I must do it..." "You're not going to let this go until I say yes, are you?" "..." "God, that upgrade might as well have been the Dubious Disk itself..." "Fine." He sighed, shaking his head. Pitch still a whisper. "Fine... but you realize that even assuming we get that far- I'm more likely to use you against that Lapras, right? because both Erce and Nemo are far more suited to deal with the Charmeleon... especially Nemo." "Swap us then-" He was finding it hard to believe what he was reading now- swap them? swap them? why, it had been Java who'd come up with that match-up scenario in the first place, afterall... "Yeah, because Cubone v Lapras went over so well the last time... one of you would have to double up if you're going to pawn off that one on poor Nemo-" "Oh please, the boy isn't defenseless... he has stone sentinels in his arsenal-" "And that lapras has an area attack that could make pretty short work of him; while you're perfectly suited to turn it completely against her-" "LOOK!" Blared across the screen. Java floated over in front of the boy's face, staring daggers. He couldn't just go along with it, could he? What did he care whether or not it worked or failed, he'd already said this was nothing more than a test, and damn it... Java was going to take the test all the way to last question, there was no settling for bailing out before the finale, not to him... "If you're so concerned about your oh so precious little orphan... then I will spend the night teaching him how to generate electricity himself so that he can use Thunder Punch, if that's what it will take... the whole night if needed" "Wait, do you mean that," Mareek asked. "You really think that in a single night, you can teach him that, on top of the work we already have to do with Ancient Power?" "Of course I mean it..." Java responded in the text, eyes beginning to smolder just a bit. "All night long, I will drill him- it honestly shouldn't be too difficult. He has Lightning rod as his ability, and from earlier training he already is versed enough in how to channel Electricity through his body and control it, case and point being Ancient Lightning... I simply need to teach him how to generate the charge himself instead of being reliant on an outside source for it. A few hits from Discharge to prime him, then I'll explain the process I myself use... as many times as necessary, until he starts to grasp it." The scowl on his duck-like face changed into a beam of determined energy as he let off a small charge in demonstration, body beginning to glow a faint golden... "He most likely wont have as much grasp or mastery over the move in comparison to my abilities, but I can assure you, by morning... he will know how to create an electric charge all on his own" "The only question is whether or not it'll be strong enough to actually make a difference... but fine, if you're really that Vehement about it..." "Alright, go ahead Java..." He finally sighed. "Teach him... go on and aim for the finals, but just know I have three conditions- 1: you train him yourself, me and Erce will handle the Ancient Power, but you're on your own on the last front... 2: I don;t care what outcome there is or if we even make it to the finals, but you don't bring this up again regardless of win or lose out there, got me? You said you needed one more shot, you'll get it, but after that you have to stop beating this dead Rapidash. And 3... you have to get Nemo's consent first. And I have to see it, non of this, 'well, he said he was alright with it' crap... those sound good to you? cause if not..." "Fine, fine, whatever..." The program said hastily. "I'll take your terms... just watch me train him..." "God knows how this whole thing is gonna turn out..." Mareek mused, returning his dex to his pocket as a somewhat placated Java went back to staring at the object of his... fixation. One last shot... that's all he had, and he had to make it count... Nemo would learn, oh yes he would... for Java was more than serious about going all night with the training- not like he needed sleep. It helped being a computer program at times... * * * * * * * Mareek Mareek said nothing as the professor finally appeared, though he noted the still absent Lana... though, he could honestly focus on that later, and he wasn't entirely sure whether she knew anything about this even- either way, it was time to get right to why they were there. "So...You gonna get this started, Robertson? it was your idea, after all..." He thought to himself, looking over at Jacob Expectantly. Galen "Years and years after I finally managed to get out of rocket, and I'm still plagued by fools..." He balled the message in his fist, shaking his head in disgust. "It should've been simple, they just had to stay out of sight while they carried it all out, leave no evidence... dumb asses were too sloppy, too careless..." "Eh, all of you," He called suddenly, addresing both Sarah and Matt and the Fox. "Nevermind, Enough. we're done here for now- I'll come back and get more data myself later... our jobs have just gotten harder thanks to few morons who can't even carry out a simple mission right..." "And it looks like Mareek's getting dragged into this afterall, even after I've gone and told the three of them to stay away... so much for that idea, didn't even matter in the end. And here I was, hoping against hope I could avoid that particular encounter..."- 1255 replies

What do you feel is my greatest strength as a host with this RP? What is my greatest flaw? (Don't hold anything back. I want honest opinions if I am to improve as a host, and I promise I won't be angry or offended.) a strength would be Your detail and ability to make quality posts consistently. Your flaw is honestly the amount of time in between updates that we're kept waiting- though no one can honestly blame you; school is simply a massively time eating machine. With the above in mind, what is your overall opinion of my work as host of this RP? You're doing pretty well keep it up If there is one thing you could change in this RP to make it more interesting and enjoyable for you, what would it be? Hmmm... maybe more group interaction moments? some people ended up getting glossed over a little hard, and while I personally am not one of them, I still know they did because of solo interactions that moved rather slowly in comparison to group ones between multiple PCs Do you like the method of hosting I am using to tell the story? If not, what would you rather see? no complaints here... Do you enjoy the plot itself so far? hells yeah! Which NPC(s) do you find to be the most believable character(s)? (Not necessarily your favorite.) didn't really pay too much attention to NPCs other than as they interacted with Anver himself... in fact, I only read those update sections actually regarding him to tell the truth after a while... Which NPC(s) do you find to be the most unbelievable? (AKA which NPC(s) need the most work in terms of character?) Can't answer it, mate. same reason above, it would be like a shot in the dark Which NPC would you most like to learn more about? *Cough* Alistair! *Cough* Which NPC is your favorite and why? ehh... don't have one. Which NPC is your least favorite and why? Alistair and everyone aligned in Utopia... totally not biased at all here, nope... not one bit. Which character do you feel you would get along with best if they really existed? Worst? (Can be a PC or NPC) lols, I should've read more of the updates... but I guess... Anver himself? as for worst... Bettle, cause the fucker's gonna betray us at some point as you clearly have hinted at Which character do you think is the strongest? (Can be a PC or NPC) Hmm... damn, that's a tough one. theres a lot of chracters with some pretty volatile powers... though I'd thin it would be a toss up between Zues/Poseidon, Victor, and Anver at this time Which of the established groups would you personally like to see succeed? (The government, Utopia, the Organization, Beetle's group... Does not necessarily have to be the group your PC is affiliated with.) ... none. lets have a revolution occur, and no one succeeds... but instead they must come together If you were to make a prediction about something in the future of the RP, what would you say? If you could ask me any question about something related to this RP and I would answer it, what would you want to know? (Not saying I'll actually answer these... but I'm curious.) will finish last two later. I'll get Anver's stuff to you later as well -

"To be honest I didn't even bother looking..." Mareek responded. "Wasn't much point when I was the only one here. I was actually starting to consider going to look for you lot..." He glanced over the other boy's shoulder, noticing nothing but empty hall way. No Lana. No Danielle. and no James... "Speaking of which- given we're the only ones even here, I'm going to guess that either Avis found the professor... or everyone else somehow just got lost on such a straight forward route...which, no offense, I can see happening to some of you, but not really with Lana so much..." Java meanwhile stared at Spitfyre as the young dragon chomped down on the charred crisp... the black hued texture of the object brought back nothing but the memory of his past defeat months ago in his mind- his last defeat, granted, but still the most humiliating one by far... at least against that damn growlithe of slade's, he'd managed to take out the hound with him. But that was alright. For Java, with all the data he had access to whenever he so pleased, knew what Spitfyre here would someday evolve into... he knew the weakness he would someday gain that he lacked now. And he would be sure to pack a special, nasty little move. Just. For. Him. Yes, Java resolved. He would have his vengeance someday, have his retribution for that shame of being charred to a smoking crisp under the scorching heat of the sun, for he had many tricks in his arsenal, and would only continue to gather more as time dragged on... yes, someday. But today, he reminded himself... today was not that day. But perhaps sometime soon, it would be... especially with some of these intriguing terrains the battles were using now...oh yes, he could see it now, how easily he could make some of those fields his absolute playground with just a bit of ingenuity and cunning. Especially one very special one in particular- one whose full possible uses was wasted on the current combatants on the field... ... ... ... well damn. now that he thought about it like that, that last thought was rather...dark. Especially considering everything Mareek had shared with him not long ago. perhaps it was just the upgrade? Afterall, it had already affected him so much this fine day...- 1255 replies

Galen "Because-" He was about to respond when the poison-type caught his attention, flapping there in the wind. "Hold that thought, Matt..." He turned to face the Zubat, looking at it expectantly. "What's this about? You sent to bring something for me?" He knew it probably did though... it wouldn't make sense for them to have just sent out one for the hell of it. Mareek and Java "I... see then." Java said solemnly. Mareek still slouched against the wall, hands in his pockets, eyes an unreadable storm as The Strategist tried to meet them once more, yet finding it oddly hard.... "I see... then the reason we even trained at all over the past while, why you even bothered to spend the BP on the entrance fee even though you said multiple times that you don't care..." "Yeah," Mareek said, shrugging. "Ya got me... in a way, I'm just using this to test you three- provide some kind of challenge. I knew Erce wouldn't have issues, but Nemo and you kinda had me worried there for a while in your own ways... though, he managed to pull it together and then some in the end." "Then everything you've said..." said Java, ignoring the implications "everything about Interpol and how you want to become the head of it someday...all of that had nothing to do with morals or justice or right or wrong..." "I guess not..." responded the boy. He turned his eyes to the ceiling evasively. "Go on, call me shallow if you want, call me a hypocrite, rail on me like you did back in the med ward... but just know it won't change anything. They had the power to do something, and they decided not to, sat around and let shit happen as it so pleased... and my dad's dead and my brother might as well be too at this point too because of it..." He glared at the Program... though Java could tell the anger wasn't meant for him. "They're worthless... lazy and utterly worthless. If they're not going to do their damn jobs, why do they even exist at all? why_not let all those resources be allotted to the regional police forces, who at least actually try to fulfill their duties, instead letting it all sit around stagnating and collecting dust?" A long silence ensued. Java realized it hadn't been just a rhetorical question a bit too late. "You, know, it's almost ironic..." He laughed. Bitterly. "They're so disorganized, that from what I can find, they don't even have an official head... I've looked time and time again for years, Java, YEARS, and not once have I ever found a single name, a single person who can be called the face of the organization... they're supposed to maintain the civil peace, establish and facilitate communication and interaction between all the Regional Forces to keep things like Silph Co. and Mt. Cornet and... and everything from happening, and yet... they're so sloppy in their structure they apparently don't even have a leader. It's like some god awful joke that just won't die... so maybe it needs someones help to finally kill the failed experiment it truly is? Maybe it needs someone's help to deliver the final punch line...so why_not let it be me, since I don't see anyone else stepping up for the job?" Java hovered there, silent as he tried to grasp the teen's reasoning. All this time... he couldn't believe it, how well the boy had pulled it off at all times. How well he had lied, over and over and over again during all that training... how many times he had looked all three of them in the eye, and spouted nonsense about everything... but yet... Java could not find himself angered at the boy. He could not find himself feeling betrayed, not knowing what he knew, not after hearing the argument he'd been presented and all the evidence along with it... for it was obvious to him now... that the book he kept, the notes, the observations, the meticulous studies all compiled between leather and paper... it was not simply a record, a guide... it was a weapon- a banner, a rallying point for a crusade... A compendium of grave, worldly sins. Of sins, not just for those who had committed them, but also for those who had willingly stood by and watched as they were committed. And yet even despite this realization... even despite seeing this darkness cast by the illusion and the lie of light, if darkness was truly what he could call it, for in truth it did look more like day than night in it's reasoning... He still found that after all of this, he could not bring himself to feel a desire to leave the boy for it. For, in a way,... this was justice, one need only look at it a... special way; for when a Dragon that you had enlisted to defend your people instead simply ate your crops, left your people starving as a result, and then promptly proceeded to nap as raiders take you home to hell in a hand basket... would it not be logical for one to slay the dragon after dealing with the raiders? would it not be logical to deal retribution not only to those who committed the act in question, but also to those who willingly allowed it to transpire in the first place despite an obligation to intervene? And what better way to kill the dragon... then to do it silently, to allow oneself to be swallowed, and strike from within? Java felt it to be logical. Completely logical, as simple as A=B, B=C, ergo, A=C. If A had acted in a preventative manner, B would not have transpired, and C would not be the result, ergo, A is just as much at fault as B... it was just math... nothing but hard, cold math. "Anyway..." Mareek continued, breaking the Programs long analysis as he looked at the time. "How long does it take to walk from outside to here? where the hell are they?" "Does Erce know?" Java asked, disregarding the attempt to change the subject. Mareek was quiet... very quiet. Java felt almost certain what the answer would be at this rate, pondering just what it would mean... if not even s... Mareek chuckled, ever so slightly, shaking his head. "Or course she does, Java. Since the very beginning."- 1255 replies
