  1. I think this is going to be good... let's see

  2. Lols... it amuses me a little to hear Slade's advice... *Chuckles* I won't comment as to what's wrong with it though... james can just figure out how useless it actually is to him when he faces the real thing.
  3. Bane stood before the smoldering embers of of ruin. His blade hung low in his grasp as his Psyche Jewel initiated the cool down phase, flares of telekinetic force still dying on his fingertips as he turned to face the prospective troopers, eyes cold as the dessert sun as he gazed upon each in turn. Gen stood on the observation platform overlooking the training field, clipboard in hand as she gave a sigh and backed away from the glass, shaking her head. "You failed." Bane said, lifting his weapon and directing the soldier's attention to what was left of the being they'd been testing against. A spindly, silver encased arm twitched ever so slightly as a substance black as night began to leak onto the floor from the mangled carapace... "We're sorry, sir..." Said the leader of the five man squad, a young officer from the look of his uniform, at least a good five years or so ahead of the very man he now addressed. Eye contact was all but avoided by everyone standing except Bane himself, the soldiers shifting in their places, gazes to the ground as they disengaged and removed the Psyche Jewels in their ears. "I can offer you no explanation for this fiasco except my leadership, however." "You understand that if this were the actual field, you're men would be dead, do you not?" Bane asked, thoroughly unimpressed as his brow furrowed. "You understand the fact that if I didn't intervene just now, you'd all be in the same state as this thing behind me, don't you?" "Yes sir..." The officer conceded, before glancing out of his periphery... "Umm...sir... behind-" The sound of crushed metal and cracking stones issued forth as one last blast of force was hurtled into the rising entity without Bane doing so much as acknowledging the being. the officer anxiously glanced back and forth between the warrior and his fallen prey. "Get out, all of you. Out of this room, and out of my sight. And place the jewels in the collection console on your way out." It wasn't an order that needed to be repeated. The five set a brisk pace for the door before he'd even finished. * * * * * * * * * * A Cold autumn wind blows in your face as you wander the seedier areas of the Lower city. The night life of Esperanza buzzes about all around you as crowds mingle and people wander, some of them out for an errand, but most of them out for a good ass night on the town from the look of their attire. as you have wandered away from your residence this night, you could not but notice a men in a navy blue trench coat occasionally popping up in your peripheral vision when you turn to look behind, though in all honesty you find it difficult to figure out if you're being tailed of he's just another PPK officer out on foot patrol. Either way, looking around now, there is no sign of any law enforcement in your vicinity as the glamorous and admirably breath stealing light displays of various Photon Signs blaze around you. Griped firmly in your hand lies a regal looking slip of paper handed to you earlier by sympathizer; one bering on it's pearly white, silver leaf bordered face the name of a Night Club- The Lion's Roar, in Sector eight of the lower city. Though you've never heard of the place before, it doesn't take you long to spot a sign bearing the same insignia as the slip as you look around. The line is long and stretches all the way to the corner of the narrow street, and at the door stands a bouncer looking like he's fresh out of prison, a hulking mass of muscle and dark pants and overcoat, shades over his eyes and his bald head gleaming in the artificial lights as he systematically denies people entry into the establishment, many of them attempting to argue with him... before he briefly brandishes a silver revolver from the depths of his coat and nudges his head to tell them to get lost before he starts blowing hot lead. The memory of your chance encounter with the sympathizer earlier today flashes through your mind as you glance down once again at the ticket, and the words they instructed you to speak to gain entry flash through your mind... "A Lannister always pays their debts." It's strange, you can't help but feel this phrase to be somewhat familiar... perhaps from literary history class way back in secondary school? Either way, it honestly doesn't matter where the hell you might have heard it before. the night is young, and so are you. But it matters not who we are or how old or youthful we might be, for death will deliver us all to the same path if we dare dally. Get moving. ((All PCs are currently separated from another in various parts of the night crowd in the vicinity of the Night club. Interaction with one another is impossible at this point in time. Meetings will occur once entry has been gained.))
  4. *Pokes head in briefly* So...been a bit quiet around here for a good while or so... everything alright?
  5. Java Java simply stared at Danielle in utter silence, then cast a glance behind him as the sound of tiny footsteps echoed down the hall at a quick pace. Arceus Damn it, they just wouldn't give up with this whole 'Talk to me, let me help you' thing, would they? And right as he thought that, the same feeling from before grew stronger... because, no, they wouldn't just give up and ignore this, would they? Java shook his head, letting out a glitched, warped sound that was his equivalent of a sigh. It made no sense... this feeling of fault, why the hell should he be feeling like he's at fault for any of this? He'd told the kid to leave him alone, and how much good did that do? Didn't he have the right not to discuss something personal if he didn't so desire to? And then there was that. Yes, that. That right there, it was the same thing he'd spent so many ruminations over in the waiting room- when had he begun... thinking of himself... as himself? "Cube!" interrupted him amidst the turbulent thoughts. Java returned his gaze to the corridor, eyes rolling. Well, look who decided to show up, the little jedi, of all things... Nemo Nemo approached Java and Danielle Slowly, not wanting to go to far into a conversation before Erce got here... actually, where was she? If he'd managed to beat her here... nah, that was impossible, he knew that much from training. Maybe she was just watching from the shadows, anyway... what was he doing here again? Oh, right, right... talking to java. He gripped his club in one hand, pointing off down the hall with the other, a few quick cries issuing from his helm as he stared up at the co-strategist. Java simply turned away, eyes fixed on the far wall. Nemo moved to be in his line of sight. Java turned right around to stare at the other wall. Again, he moved. And again the polygon shifted his gaze away as he continued trying to placate his comrade. Alright... so much for that. Java seems to be a lot harder to get through to than Mareek.... Man, he could really use Erce about now, but... where was she? Why wasn't she appearing about now? "Cue?" He asked, glancing around... after a while with no response, he finally scratched his head and turned to Danielle... if erce weren't gonna pop up and help, and java was gonna act like a brick wall... "Cubone!" He said, gesturing to Java with his club, hoping the girl would catch on...
  6. "If I could go back and right the wrongs committed over a thousand life times, I would. But I can not. None of us can. We are defined and damned by who we were, who we will become, what we did, and what we will do. That's just the sad truth of life, my mortal friends."

  7. It's time... *starts the engine...*

  8. Information regarding mission methodology and the dominance gene have been added to the Third OP The soldier gene exists to explain how individuals such as bane can possibly surpass so many of their peers, as well as to explain how the pcs are going to be able to hold their own even when it's their first time in actual armed combat... because honestly, ya'll ain't gonna have time for a lot of training, soldiers, given circumstances. As of this moment, all PCs are now Omega Variant Dominants. anyways, we have all the mechanics explained that need explaining for the time being. others will be added as they come up and are introduced in the story. I will start the IC sometime very soon.
  9. information regarding the game mechanics of "Briefing" and "Mission Load out" have been added to the Third OP. information regarding stealth and mission fulfillment methodology (How you go about conducting a mission and reaching the objective) as well as a few other things will be added very soon. EDIT: information on Stealth Grade index added

  11. "That was just fucked up man..." upon witnessing the events atop Mt.Apophyll "The dick's just overcompensating for something. Pun intended." In response to/ after any encounter with Fern. in addition to "You call me a loser, but... remind me, who just kicked whoms ass here?" "What the hell are you?" After beating shade and watching as he vanishes into thin air. "Hey, don't mind me, just gonna waltz into your house real quick, cause no one in this city locks their doors apparently..." "Drugs are just bad, M'kaay?" after being asked if they have any "Rare Candy" "It's just amazing the amount of crap you find lying on the ground..." after finding an item "Apparently this city has no liter laws or anything..." While using the Item Finder within the city. "Her husband won't wake up. I know, I'll go out and traipse about the aventurine woods looking for rare weeds instead of just buying some more of the Blissey Medicine from Spinel Town!" "Hmmm... I could use flamethrower or something and just walk over to the other side... nah, think I'll slide across the ice instead."
  12. ((@Private Darklight- I was already headed there, so hope ya don't mind, soldier)) Mareek Java floated through the doors of the medical center, eyes rolling and pace quickening when he got into the lobby. Mareek wasn't far behind, more than able to catch up and grab the Polygon by the tail, dragging him back. Another beam of telekinetic force not long after had him shaking and clasping his hand tightly to his chest, the sensation of it being pounded by a ball-pin flaring throughout the limb as he scowled at the Co-Strategist, and got one in return. "Really?" He snarled. "Fucking really? I'm trying to help you with whatever you're going through right now, and you practically run away like you stole something, and then when I try to stop you, you haul off and attack me just for caring enough to try to see if you're alright?" Java gave no response, only turning away and beginning to move again. Mareek's eyes darkened and his brow furrowed as he reached for the two other capsules on his person... "Please, just stop Running away, damn it!" He shouted. "Running won't fix whatever your problem is! And I can't freaking help you with this whole Upgrade thing if you're not going to keep refusing to cooperate!" No response, not even an acknowledging glance backwards. "Java!" No use. The Computer Generated Life form had disappeared down the corridor. His trainer let out a sigh in frustration as he depressed the triggers on both Nemo and Erce's capsules... Java "Java" Was the last thing he heard before he rounded the corner and stopped listening altogether. Yeah sure, the kid meant well and everything, but damn, did he really have to go and turn their conversation outside to the things he'd been experiencing since last night? And did he have to be so persistent about it- Java knew he'd told him more than once that it wasn't important, that they should just focus on the next battle and not whatever was ailing him... but Mareek just wouldn't give up... and what had Java done in response? Run away and then broken the kid's grip with an- Admitably harsh and uncalled for- psybeam when he'd caught up. Another sensation began to bloom within him as he kept hovering though- this one different from all the ones that had come before in the past few hours or so... and it was stranger than all the others, his heart raced a bit faster. His gut and the entirety of his virtual self felt was all sinking, being dragged down by some heavy, unseeable bog. And his actions back in the med lobby couldn't help but float back up to the front of his mind...and then there came thoughts as to why Mareek was being so persistent, why he refused to just let it go and ignore it... yet no matter how much he tried to push any of the ruminations away, they still stayed there, lurking in the background like Absols predicting disaster. By the creation trio, what in the good lord Arceus's name was this feeling? "I guess we will see what they others have gotten, right Avis?" Was apparently his answer to that question. He looked up from the floor, taking in the new space around him and realizing just how far he'd wandered. A quick scan of the room almost immediately revealed the likely owner of the voice- a semi-familiar girl with a murkrow... in fact, if java didn't know any better, she might be the same one who Mareek and Lana had agreed to a partnership with...
  13. I suspect this is all somehow related to his interest in "fully Unlocking a pokemon's heart" that was expressed in chapter 2...
  14. Well, to be honest, I'm not entirely sure as to where exactly Henry stands on the spectrum seeing as how Commander told me earlier that he and Mareek "Aren't exactly on the same sides" or something equating to that. sure, they might both be focusing on the org itself, but it might be for very, very different overall intentions from as far as I've been able to glean and interprerate so far... which again, if that's the case...yeah...
  15. well, looks like I might have a scolding of sorts coming my way, oh joy, what fun... And lols. This has all turned into one big future-murder mystery and conspiracy upon counter conspiracy. I'll be interested to see just how utterly and frustratingly counter-productive everyone's efforts to figure out anything might be to each others. Which in a way, all plays into the antagonizing forces advantage...
  16. Accepted. We've got enough to start now. I'll add you and Typhlosions sheets to the OPs and explain how this all going to work with procedure and all. After that I'll get the IC up, maybe sometime later today or this week/weekend. I'd also like to reiterate- even after the IC begins, new people will still be able to join so long as there's an empty slot. So until/ if we get eight people, registrations will more or less always be open.
  17. Explosion might be just a little... unethical here, all things considered and all, but it would be kinda funny... till it got used on you XD Anyway, I think I'm going to change Nemo's role from "The Enforcer" of Mareek's team, to the "Jedi Knight", and call him "The Apprentice" while he's still a cubone... Because the more I think about it, the more and more the fighting style he and mareek have developed in battle reflects that of lightsaber-swinging force wielder... hmmm... or maybe I should just outright change it to "Starkiller" or some title along those lines after he eventually evolves...
  18. Ya know what would be really fun though? An Alternate Earth version of the American Rebellion... with all world mythologies and magic

given that they were -technically- here first, I wouldn't be annoyed by this, but the guy stopped logging in after only a month and never came back, so...

  21. You sure? this looks pretty good for someone who doesn't know what they're doing.
  22. Galen "No use standing here guessing," Galen said, his hand producing a red and white capsule from inside his coat, tossing it into the air as his Crobat emerged in a burst of light a moment afterwards. "See that cave over there? go check it out, see if there's a lapras or anything." The bat simply stayed there giving him it's perpetual scowl. Then with a simple undetectable nod, she flew off across the surface of the lake, skimming the water before rising up and folding her wings around her self, feet clinging to the mouth of the opening as she looked inside, eyes peering through the darkness as she glanced around... Mareek & Java Java stared at the boy in utter disbeleif as he kept walking towards the stadium entrance area... did he just hear him correctly back there? Was he really going to go and do this? No, no... it most be something related to what he was going through, there's no way Mareek would just... "Oh, looks like someone decided to venture out of their cave," His trainer joked, glancing behind. "What, did that little bout back there draw your attention?" "Did you mean that, what you said to them?" Was the only response he got- via bold black words scrawling across the screen of his dex. "That you were going to break off things regarding Evan?" "Yeah, I did," Mareek said simply, not that surprised when Java started glaring at him, hovering closer and smacking him with his bill in outrage. "Calm down, it's better this way...just let me explain-" "Why!?" Chimed an electronic voice over his earbuds, Java again coming in to hit him, though he caught this one with his hand. "After the work we've done to try and keep tabs, you're going to just throw away all that effort and let those pissants take over!? What are you-" The Polygon's stare only intensified as Mareek gripped a bit firmer on his bill, a finger held up in gesture to silence him. "Because," he began. "Java, I actually realized something back there... Evan's just the tip of this whole iceberg. Neither of us managed to see it earlier, but chances are, there's a lot more going on here than just what happened during the trip and everything, and if we keep all our focus on Evan, we might be missing a few signs and clues about the bigger picture." Java made a noise that sounded like a computer's stalling dial-up crashing, using a weak psybeam to slap away the boy's grasp. "Or Reeves could be the key to everything and you could've just done something incredibly stupid!" the earbuds snarled. "Maybe he might not be too important to the overall bigger picture, but he's still the only link to the bigger picture we have here!" "Neither of us knows that for sure, we just jumped to the conclusion of that at the beginning and rode it home." Mareek turned and kept walking, almost to the front doors of the stadium. Java's gaze softened as he hovered there, processing that point... Mareek spoke again, pushing open the door before him as a cold wind drifted in. "Java, for all we know, whatever's being planned could be well beyond it's first stage, which I have to assume probably was the stampede and Evan going missing. And like I said, if it is, then there's no way we'll catch any signs if we're focusing on just one tiny piece of the puzzle. So I decided to let them go and do whatever they want with him- it's better this way, with them distracted with trying to figure him out, they probably won't dig too much deeper... or at the very least, we'll have hopefully managed to figure out enough by the time they do that it'll be hard for them to come in and screw something up." Java held his glare for just a bit longer. Then he finally shook his head, hovering over to the boy. "Fine... Let's see where this path will lead..." He glanced around as they walked out of the building, realizing for the first time that they'd been moving the entire conversation. "Where are we going?" "The medical center," Mareek said. "Figured Lana will be there about now getting her team healed... though of course, you might have known that if you had bothered talking to me earlier."
