  1. I was considering having Hyper Beam as one of the final moves for Java- kinda like a Coup de Grace of sorts with Lock-on grade accuracy... he needed a good stab move and for the final arrangement, I wanted something better than Tri Attack... but now... *Scurries off to find a replacement move...*
  2. There's always Google Docs, soldier. an account with 15 GB of space is free and you can keep all you're notes and such in it. At least, that's what I do for all the teams I have, like Galen's, Alexandra's (Ms.Sisto), and for Mareek himself. I also have a doc with every single stratagem he has up his sleeve on it, for each and every individual mon on the team.
  3. yes, yes... well, at this point, I do believe we have thoroughly gutted, ransacked, and utterly destroyed any hope of using a TP based stratagem with absolute impunity. What say you all? has it been beaten into deep enough submission?
  4. Oh yeah, then there's that. It's always nice to get a good Lava Plume or Discharge right to the face as you go in for an attack. I'll go ahead and add attack on everyone to the list of deterrents.
  5. I know, soldier, the post and list has already been edited to include moves that never miss. And then... there's also D-Bond... yeah, that's right, D-bond.
  6. I know, And I completely agree it needs to nipped in the bud before it begins, which is why I'm still searching for ways to absolutely wreck any foolish soldier who wishes to abuse this in the future. Oh, and I forgot to put, but there's also Lock-on and Mind Reader for some mons, I figure even if you TP away, the attacks will act like friggin heat seeking missles and keep following you until either they're intercepted or they get ya. And then there's moves thay never miss like Feint attack and Aerial Ace- those two would probably outspeed/ catch the TPer completely off guard and hit either before it can port or catch it immediately after it does
  7. "I think she was called Lilith, Though I could be wrong..." Arya responded. "I wasn't really listening too much attention to their introduction until after her whole declaration thing, I was honestly more focused on sketching it down. I don't really know what everyone's so shocked about though, what does it matter what she choose or when she choose it- it's her freedom to decide what she wants to believe in, Just like it is for everyone else, isn't it?"
  8. oh Really? cause off the top of my head, I can come up with multiple ways to defeat a teleport spam strategem, such as... Modifying the abilities of Shadow Tag and Arena trap to make Teleport completely unusable when pokemon with those abilities are around/ on the field The moves of Mean Look, Block, and Spider Web have the same effect when used, disallowing for mons hit by it to use TP (none of them ever fails) until the mon who used it on them has been KO'd. But we go a step further and remove Magic Bounces and Magic Coats protection against these 3 particular moves. Even if a mon were TP out of an attacks path and launch an attack from behind, there are priority+ moves which can pretty much outspeed it's counter attack and either intercept or intercept, over power, and hit it, and because of TPing being something that's straining, chances of being able to TP away again from THAT strike will be between slim and none unless we're talking really high level and high experienced fighters, and even then, if the two sides are on equal levels, then... still slim and none. Setting up moves like Protect or detect, which have priority and always go first, after a mon TPs behind, making their counter attack useless and leaving them open to retaliation strikes since they need time before being able to port again. In doubles, having one mon focus on the TPer, and have the other sit back and keep eyes open for when they pop up again and be ready to immediately launch an attack- in other words, expecting an ambush and turning it right around on the user. The moves Lock-On and Mind Reader- moves can never miss if used in conjunction with these two, and even if a mon TPs, they're gonna have to either get hit by it following em or intercept it, which will take away from an opportunity to counter attack. The moves of Aerial Ace, Shadow Punch, Feint Attack, Swift, Magnet Bomb, Magical Leaf, and Shock Wave all have perfect accuracy- as in they do not miss period unless stopped by an interception or moves like protect and detect, so they can hit TPers even if they port away from the attack's initial path/ they'll outspeed it before it can execute the port. The move destiny bond never fails to hit the target, IE, it has perfect accuracy, so beware all yee who doth seekith to knock out the foe with a porter... AoE moves, in other words, moves that hit everyone on the field with the exception of the user (IE, lava plume, discharge, Boom Burst, Earth Quake, Explosion, Magnitude, Parabolic charge, Petal Blizzard, Searing Shot, Self Destruct, Surf, Sludge Wave, Synchronise (this one right here is the biggest threat), and Teeter Dance)can all be used immediately after a TPer comes in to counter, and well... give them a nice blast or two right to the face. And I'm just gonna keep adding on more and more and more as I think up/ discover them. But there are ways to keep this in check, rest assured. And I for one intend not to rely too heavily on it for battle strategy, Mareek will more or less just be focusing some time on training that particular move for utility purposes of getting to places easier/ faster- He won't want to rely on it like an ace because he would see it as cheap and cowardly and just flat gimmicky- to him, relying on it too much would imply that someone doesn't have the skill to fight without using a crutch move, and this is them showing that he's right, ergo, he himself would not exploit it much out of pride in his own abilities, though he CAN recognize that there would be a FEW situations where getting the drop, even via TPing, could have more strategic importance to overcome the cheapness of it, so it won't even be in common battles, but when something important is at stake and he's in a bad bind and losing would spell very bad news... you see where I'm going with this, right? the ends would have justify the means for him.
  9. I was just gonna treat it as being highly strainful mentally for the user, and as such spamming left and right in a fight is going to rack up and cause more or less a black out of sorts. Cuase... they are manipulating the fabric of space, afterall, and that shouldn't be counted as any small feat. But once or twice with a considerable amount of time in between, I imagine something like that in battle would be alright. But spamming it would be like KOing your own fighter from pushing it too hard, like Chimchain has had to force on a few occasions... ((OF course, there's always training...practice and all that to increase endurance for it, but it's beside the main point.))
  10. Galen "To do some observations at the lake," Galen responded, keeping up his purposeful stride as the illusion fox hurried behind him. "So lucky you three, you get to be bored out of your skulls yet again- but this time it's for the sake of the mission. Just don't anything stupid while we're there to piss off any ferals, kiddos. Last thing I need is to potentially have to explain to high command why my three little delinqu- I mean... subordinates, are dead." Whether he meant or was only joking... was anyone's guess. Mareek "Things are going to get interesting, it seems..." He thought to himself while the screen overhead transmitted Brand's announcement. He turned and keep on about his way, Java's capsule in his hand while the other remained in his pocket, eyes staring into the deep white surface of the premier capsule, own reflection staring right back up at him. "I know you heard that just now." No response from the sphere or his dex. "Look, I'm done, you've gone and cowered out of a battle we spent most of the morning going over observations for, made Erce have to pull you're weight when you could've gone out there and made far quicker work of the opponent then her and Nemo's combination, and quite frankly you're acting like some spoiled teenage girl whose locked herself in her bedroom because she "Can't have what she wants.". Whatever you're going through, you'd better start talking to me soon, because I can't help you with it if you keep insisting to lock yourself away like a hermit in your capsule instead of communicating." Again, no response... just his own reflection. "Arceus, and people think I'm asocial..." He was walking all the while before finally sighing and stowing the thing back on his belt. He hadn't even noticed he'd reached the waiting room's arena exit until he spotted the other students in the room, specifically the small group congregating near one of the seating areas. There were a few familiar faces... well no, not familiar, a face to him was either known or unknown, there was no inbetween- either way, he didn't bother paying much attention to Danielle and the others as they conversed, he was asocial, after all- never had been the social butterfly, and honestly had no desire to become one anytime in the for see-able future. Mareek kept walking right past them, heading for the door out of the room without even so much as an acknowledging glance to Slade or Jacob or any of the others he recognized...
  11. shouldn't be an issue if folks just use some sense and only rely on it in a fight sparingly, like I intend to... (Yes soldiers, at this point, mareek's next team member might be Xatu... gotta get me that psychic bird.)
  12. Alright, quick soldiers, does anyone have the link to the download site for that handy RPGmaker FPS program that lets you speed up RPG maker games? My anti-virus decided to be a dick and deleted it just now...

  15. Well, Corporal, RPs generally do not move on to their ultimate conclusion very fast unless the plot is intentionally short like a Reroll or such or there are Total Wipe possibilities (In the later case, chances are it still keeps going even after that, so...). It's not like it's all being written by one person whose devoting most of their free time to it; instead it's got a lot of different authors who all have their own things going on IRL that can affect the flow and pacing of things as things pop up, etc... and so it takes alot longer than say... writing a novel. Plus, the objective of an RP is to ultimately have fun and craft a great story, not get it done as fast as you can- cause rushed writing, 9 out of 10 times, is not very good writing. So yeah, soldiers. that wouldn't be all that surprising at all if Reborn is done (With post game content added even) before this reaches it's climax/ conclusion phase.
  16. Draidon only grumbled a few unitelligible, anti-fire dragon slurs as the electric type carried him out. Aside from that, it seemed he was barely conscious enough to do much more than stumble about with Sparks as a support. The Tempest members found themselves at the base of the mountain when they emerged into the sunlight of the outside world, the forest of Mt. Tempest stretching out before them like a see of brown and green. In the distance lay the distant outlines of town, though... it looked like it would be quite a walk before Sparks reached there, and given he had a less-than-steady dragon who weighed several times his weight with him... Well, it's like they say. A journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step.
  17. hmmm... maybe I should just say screw it and kill the two off at the end of this month. They've had their time...

Hell, in fact, maybe I'll just throw the whole thing out and start over with a clean slate, a whole new world, new magic system, new lore... I'm already building one for another reason, so might as well see about it...

  18. Ha! oh please, soldier, things start now... but yeah, depending on whatever Sergeant Chim has planned, things will probably rise to their crescendo somewhere around that time or so...
  19. Arya accepted the truffle, giving a quiet "thanks" as she stowed it in her pocket. She was a bit torn as to how to continue now... on the one hand, she could keep going and trying to set this girl up with Vivienne, while on the other- she seemed pretty decent, nice enough...Arya could always take her for her own, afterall... Maybe I should just take a step back then... She finally thought to herself, looking at Lyre. Actually do what I claimed and let fate decide things... whatever happens... it happens, I guess. "So," she began casually, ironically reminded of Vivienne's attempts at small talk earlier. "What do you think of the school so far?"
  20. Galen "That's because it's not his battling abilities that's it," Galen said, watching as his brother's strategy broke through at last and sent his opponent packing. "He's a threat because he's borderline obsessed when it comes to Terror and Crime organizations... been studying them for a long while from what I hear, taking notes on everything, memorizing everything he can. He's done his research and then some, and that's what enables him to be an instant death switch for this whole operation- he can recognize certain things a lot faster than others if he sees them. So like I said, just stay the hell away from him- unless of course, you want to have to explain to your higher-ups how this mission failed due to your carelessness." He rose from his seat slowly, the Zoroark doing the same and throwing up an illusion around the group, rendering them unseen yet again. "Anyways, I just wanted you to see him battle so that you'd know what he looks like." He started to walk away, heading for the exits of the stands... "Hurry up and follow me- it's about time to get to work..." Mareek Mareek said nothing as his opponent left the field, merely staring off as his own fighters came in to land before him... after all, he had a reputation to uphold, and there would be plenty of time for words later. The rain overhead finally lifted. The adrenaline started to ebb, and only then did he begin to feel the chill of the outside air- amplified by the fact of his soaked clothing- and so was Nemo, though Erce seemed to have somehow fared a bit better while in combat. "It's over," He said simply, nodding to the two before turning and beginning to head off the field. "You both did well...and here, catch." He retreived something from his jacket and tossed it over his shoulder. Nemo held out his tiny mits as the two yellow, speckled berries landed in them... he knew them well from times after hard training bouts. The two followed behind their trainer in complete silence, Nemo going to work consuming the berries while Erce glanced at the orphan, can't helping but look at the boy in a different light now than before... how much had he changed, since the three of them had found him whimpering in the hills? How far from a coward had he risen, that he could be bold enough to take on a foe far larger than him and not balk? Perhaps the kid had true talent... or perhaps his transformation was all due to Mareek's influence... either way, he'd done the team proud out here, that, she knew. The two were recalled immediately after he stepped back inside the corridor leading away from the arena, their trainer continuing on down the hall to phoebes waiting room, his thoughts only focused on getting back to the dorms so he could change before catching something... God, a fire type would come in handy right about now...
  21. Mareek more or less thinks that they're possibly some splinter branch of the long dead rockets that's trying to come back because of Slade's description of what happened and the bit of fabric he found in the woods while searching for evan. And he was highly skeptical at best with Evan's original explanation about where the skarmory came from. But regardless of what he knows, he won't reveal anything to someone he feels is rash or an idiot... and even after that, he wouldn't even reveal it to someone he thought highly of without being given sufficient reason first... because too many folks leads to people budding in where and when they shouldn't and ruining shit...
  22. "What happens if I die with it?" "The blade returns to me, as it's rightful owner as head of the household." "And you're just going to... hand it to me now, when my reputation's been besmirched and I'm to be sent off for a fate worse than death...why?" "So that everyday that sword is not in it's place in the catacombs... I can know that my only child and daughter is still alive somewhere in the world."

  23. Sorry Soldier, but I'ma afraid I'll have have to ask you to go a bit deeper here in pretty much every category after "Jewel Type" A well thought and fleshed out character will provide a much better experience in general than one that doesn't have all that many details to it, trust me... if a PC is well faceted and well described and designed, it gives a player a hell of a lot more to work with and by extension expands what they can possibly do with their writing of them and their development. The more effort put in, the more satisfied one feels to be able to hop behind the wheel and finally take the PC for a drive. Starting with Personality- That's far too short to be accepted soldier. All I know is that he's "Calm and reserved, semi-introverted" I don't know any hobbies, habits, fears, aspirations, any in-depth details about how he handles himself in society or social situation, what his values or morals or vices are, nor overall what his view of the world as an individual even is. I know nothing of his persona but a few words Come on soldier, I know you can go deeper than that. Think, who is John Smithson as a person? How does he think, act, what does he believe in, why does he believe in it, what does he fear, why does he fear it? what does he aspire for, why? All this and more soldier. Answer these questions and the points I made above, and that should get you well on your way to better fleshing out your PC personality wise Now then, the Personality, leads us directly into the next category to be address- Backstory. The backstory and the personality are closely intertwined for every character that has ever been made in the history of ever; for the back story serves as the explanation to the character's life prior to the plot, the things they went through, the things they did and were done to and for them, the people they met (Or didn't meet, etc.), the things they saw... Everything. Ergo, Because people are shaped by their experiences, the Back story must have some way of leading to the character being the person who they are today. Now, for John, there's a number of things you can do to flesh out and expand his rather bare backstory- in Exodus: Beyond Eden, Jack's backstory was pretty short, only explaining his reason to fight but not how life was like at home, how his life was, etc... You can take that bareness from jack and use it to flesh out John here- you can take this opportunity to explain the brother's relationship and home life. For example, you can touch upon how similiar or disimiliar they were to one another, how they veiwed one another, and then you cna go on from there and focus more on fleshing out john's history specifically from that point. Lastly, Appearance. I don't really see as big an issue with the shortness of it compared to how I did with Personality and backstory, but still, you can go deeper. Give us more detail, what's his facial features look like, how does he carry himself in terms of body language, what's his typical attire? Anyway, soldier, wish I could give a bit better or more in-depth suggestions, but the short length is kinda... preventing me from accurately being able to do that. So... these are more or less just things to help get you started. At the very least you should have a full paragraph for the Backstory and Personality each, at the very least. If you get into a flow and feel like writing more, than by all means, go ahead, no one's stopping you. But yeah, as it is now soldier, your profile still needs a bit of work... Also, the true identity of Archangel remains unknown at the time of the plots exposition. It is only speculated that Jace is on the other side of the screen, but many people shoot down this theory because he never exhibited any talent or interest in persuasive argumentative writting. So yeah, Archangel= Mystery Author basically
  24. "It's over now," Mareek thought to himself as Erce finally appeared behind Nemo on his side of the field, eyes fixed on the last remaining opponent. "Even if she wants to try and tank that things physical power and defense- It's still piss poor against special attacks, and with Erce's speed... I have to say though, I'm impressed... had I gone out here underestimating, half-assing my effort, then this fight's course would've gone so much differently..." "Targaryen." He said simply. Nemo spared no moments, glancing behind at his "Dragon" before glowing with ancient power's link yet again as he scurried over and she knelt to accept the ground type onto her back- the Bunker Stones blazing all the while, beginning to tremble. "Clear the bunker, take off." was the cue the lonely soldier had been waiting for. The stones broke up their wall formation and shot off out of the way towards the sides of the field, useless as a possible barrier to be used against it's maker now. Erce's body took on a pale glow and she loosened a few muscles in her back, wings unfurling yet again as she stood, giving a cocky cry to the Rhyhorn across the way. then she and her passenger were both in the air, her speed seemingly unhindered thanks to the Agility... though she knew from experience that she'd have to have a bit of restraint now, if Nemo was going to be able to stay on.... "Well, Lana, It's been fun," Mareek admitted, hands in his pockets and his typical aloofness back at the surface. "But he who controls the air...- Erce, go. Nemo, be prepared. Just like we spent all that time practicing." Erce began strafing hard to the left like a chopper, scythes prepped in a harsh teal wind as Nemo focused intensely on the Rhyhorn, eyes peeled for any movement that might suggest an attack... the next moment, a Technician boosted slice of vacuum pressure was fired and hurtled off directly for the Rhyhorn, like it's Shellos Partner before it...
