  3. Can't tell you, soldier. whether or not they actually stay in our possesion is going to depend on your actions later in the chapter. But I'm keeping the Ariados regardless...for the time being. cause we need a way to get private Cannon in and out of the subterran, and Private Carter and Myself are going to get tired of heaving and hoing eventually.
  4. Lars and Logan "Look, just stay where you are..." The kadabra ordered, hand held out- Logan found that the air in front of him was suddenly thick as a wall. The next moment the Psychic's leg began glowing a bright gold, the weeping claw marks gradually beginning to seal as the blood stemmed. The female MP looked as if she were about to chew out the Medic, but the Watcher spoke before her mouth could utter anything. "Enough, Second Lieutenant..." He began. "Enough time has already been wasted. If the escape was not intended, there's no point in pressing any charges for desertion or otherwise. As such..." His pupils blazed white. The privates found themselves... suddenly just not standing in the parking lot anymore. The scenery began to rearrange itself as they shifted back into their own dimension, bodies feeling strange from the unexpected teleportation as they both fell lat on their arses on a worn hard wood floor. They were in a building, it seemed, a regal one, fine, baby blue wall paper with intricate patterns of gold, a white ceiling with an overhead light fixture that looked like it had never been used before. The room was rectangular, with a large fire place against the back wall, unlit though a good supply of wood sat beside it. Two love chairs, a sleek blue matching the wall paper, sat atop a neutrally colored carpet, a small coffee table sitting between them. Two large gothic windows made their home in the right wall, a veiw of a very familiar cityscape visible through spotless glass. They had fallen near the door, it seems, a beautifully carved slab of mahogany with a silver handle... that had noticeable knife marks near the lock mechanism, as if... someone had been here... either trapped or trying to get in. Spark Alpha "They weren't abandoned, soldier," Surge called down the hole as Clint moved out of the way upon reaching the bottom, making room for private Carter to descend once the silk harness was pulled back up and stowed in the Staff Sergeant's pack. "This ice field, the smashed capsules, the loose GAOs running around- what happened here was a battle soldier, and whoever handled these things before we came along just now was probably either captured or forced to leave behind equipment and retreat...Doesn't matter though, like I said, their ours now, can't just leave government property in the field without either destroying it or collecting it." The Bridge... "Where the hell are they?" Chang asked, checking his watch as his two Alphas were being patched up by one of Geo's medics. It had been nearly an hour ago that he'd ordered the retreat from the suburbs and gotten reprimanded, and yet... there was no sign of his soldiers anywhere. "They couldn't have possibly gotten lost, not when the route would've been so straight forward and static..." "Then obviously they were captured." A woman's voice interjected from behind. Chang cast a glare back at his allied commander, not liking the implications. "What, you think Spark Alpha wouldn't be capable of it? They have a reputation on base for a reason, Chang, and you said yourself that they forced you into withdrawal from the area. With you teleported back here, whose to say Surge didn't lead his men in full pursuit and detained every last one of yours?" "That's a ballsy move, even for the crazy yet cautious Phoenix Killer," Chang said, shaking his head and looking back towards the streets down below. "I've got a reputation too- and Surge is probably smart enough to go intentionally drawing me towards his team, not when he nor his men have the GAOs to counter my arsenal over there..." He nodded to the Land Turtle and the Blue one. "Seems like they handled them well enough when you weren't looking." "I told you, that was all the damn Fox's doing..." a few moments of silence passed, wind picking up a bit and blowing a few loose papers around in it's gust. The nearby medic called to apprise them that he'd provided the best treatment he could with so few supplies, though neither Staff Sergeants responded to him. Then finally "We have an alliance for a reason..." Chang said. "You act as though I haven't been working on it the entire time," Was all Geo responded with, the Walkie Talkie on her belt humming to life as a voice called. "Mam, I have visuals on Hot Wasabi's holding location, over." "What are we dealing, with, soldier? Over."
  5. "Good, that's right... focus on little Nemo here. You fell right for it..." His face still gave nothing of his thoughts away as he ordered "Nemo, detect out of the pulse's path and onto Rhyhorn's back- create a dividing barrier with another stone sentinels before transitioning into Lonely Swordsman." Nemo nodded as his shield was gradually broken down by the rhino, eyes glowing as his pupils took on a deep teal hue and he gracefully side-flipped into the air just as the Water Pulse was closing in, at the same time his body glowed a hazy white and fired off another bout of stealth rocks, these ones slamming down directly behind Rhyhorn on Mareek's side of the field, cutting off both it's and Nemo's veiw of the Shellos in the distance as the cubone landed on the Rock type's back like a gymnast. The next moment he gripped his club with both hands and projected a bright blue length of energy outwards before him, bringing down the construct towards the Rhyhorn's neck like a sword to try to begin his assault... Mareek meanwhile, clothes virtually soaked through and through and hair falling in wet strands into his face from the storm, just stood there and looked over at the water type across the field, the memory of what he'd planned with Erce still fresh in the boy's mind... ******** "That's enough Erce, it's time..." He had said once the mantis had executed three more Kamikaze strikes and returned to land on the ground before him and Nemo. The large screen overheard blared the announcment of the final match as Nemo turned and scurried towards the entrance of the stadium... which worked out just fine for what Mareek was about to do. "Erce, you need to know our real strategy," He began, hands in his pocket as the Mantis followed him inside without a sound. "We're going to trick her into focusing her team's firepower all on Nemo- then once she does and that Rhyhorn is on our side of the field and not able to readily support the Shellos... you're going to emerge from the shadows. We're going to isolate the two from one another, and it'll be two split theaters, Nemo takes out the Rock type, while you take out the water type." All erce had done was look at him quizacally. Why had he felt the need to lie to the boy about things then? wouldn't that only- "Nemo thinks he's fighting both sides on his own because I want to drive him further," Mareek said, not even bothering to look back as they approached the waiting room. He stopped before entering though. "I need you to get back in your ball now. better to not have you seen walking out with me onto the field." ******* "Erce, bait's been taken, the trap's sprung... Kamikaze." He said simply, breaking out of this thoughts, satisfied that stage one of the stratagem had been achieved. Within an instant the Mantis appeared in a blur of motion in the air on Lana's side of the field- behind the shellos, tucking in her wings and not letting out even the slightest sound as a tempest of teal winds engulfed her descending form and trailed out behind her like a comet in the night sky, the force of gravity adding onto the speed and force of her full strength Return attack as she hurtled towards her target, just as it had when she'd practiced outside not too long ago...
  6. "If I heard right, we're supposed to find someone either six months older or younger than us." Arya explained. she turned slightly and glanced over towards Vivienne in the distance. "And if you haven't found anyone yet, I might be able to help; See the girl with green hair sitting alone?" hopefully this goes well... I just don't know what I'm going to say to vivienne though...
  7. I'm surprised you people haven't read enough Urban Dictionary to be more or less desensitized to just about everything on there...
  8. Yes, exactly No. Focus on the Riot shields and clubs, soldier... focus on the riot shields and clubs.
  9. "Rainfall won't give her away, Lana." Mareek said simply as Nemo acted on his own initiative and began to glow silvery-white again, calling upon the power of his ancestors and all those who'd come and fought before him to move a few of the stones on the field, lifting them off the ground as they took on a similiar glow and slamming them back down a few feet in front of him, forming a virtual wall that stopped the mini-pulses dead in their tracks before floating back up and moving apart a bit to give Nemo an opening. "What, you honestly think I didn't sit down and come up with all the ways the environment could be used to locate her? I've been training since the beginning to be as fast as she can be, and at a high enough speed, you eyes won't be able to catch any movement unless she wants you to see it, rain or shine. The disturbance of every rain drop she makes as she passes through them- it's all happening too fast for the human eye to even process..." He broke off the conversation and nodded his head to the Shellos, "Ancient Power." Nemo obeyed, body again beginning to glow with a hazy white as a sphere formed before him, shining and casting a strange light onto the rain drops falling around him before he fired it off at the small water type through the opening in the makeshift wall he'd assembled... We need to see if that thing has any Ice at it's disposle though...And let's see if we can lure out the Rhyhorn...
  10. Mareek Nemo was the first one onto the field for the boy's side, running out of the waiting room exit and hurrying to take up his position, peering silently at the opposition as he brought up his bone club into the fighting stance Mareek had taught him. Chest to wall, weapon held vertically to the side, shoulders to foe... making himself a smaller target. Next came Mareek himself, face completely devoid of any emotion as he glanced over at his opponent at the other side of the field- he might as well make this a good show and turn everything off, after-all, make it believable that he wasn't holding any punches... "Like I said," He began coldly, retrieving Erce's capsule from within his jacket and bringing it to full size in his gloved palm. "I'm not holding anything back." With a flick of his wrist, she was out on the field beside the small Ground type, eyes fixed on the Rhydon and Shellos. "So keep up. The only way you walk off this field victorious is if you manage to overcome the bond between myself and my team- the only way you win here... is if you do it with your own power." And then he wasted no time getting started, snapping his fingers at Erce only once and turning his attention to Nemo as the Scyther unfurled her wings and took off in a cloud of dust, vanishing into a blur of motion and then nothing. "Stone Sentinels." He ordered simply. Nemo knew it wasn't part of the original plan, but he could see like his trainer that now would probably be a better place to reveal it rather than later- and arceus knows he wanted to actually use it instead of just practicing over and over and over.... He began to take on a silvery white glow as he followed the order, sparks of the same color beginning to flare around him before firing off to different spots... on his side of the field, growing larger, jagged, elongating into near obelisk-like shapes before slamming into the ground and losing their glow for the time being, as did Nemo... "Go on," Mareek said, face still not giving away anything. "I'll give you the first attack." Because I'm going to have the last one...and so is Erce. Galen "And there he is, kiddos..." Galen said, sighing. "That right there is Mareek Akira Sisto, the one kid here who the three of you must avoid like he's death itself. And I mean it, stay away- the kid won't forget your faces if he sees them... you see all these marks and scars and crap I got?" He jabbed a finger towards his own facial features, specifically at his nose. "I had to rough my own self up just so he wouldn't know me...dye my hair, get freaking colored contacts... put on a damn false mustache and goatee combo- had to change basically everything..."
  11. "No." charizard said simply, barely even acknowledging the thunderbolt from a foe so weak in comparison to his own level. "That was me being merciful and giving you one last chance to save your life and the life of your friend here. But now..." He opened his maw, a roar issuing forth as a sphere of pure hot flames congealed in the back of his throat, their heat enough to begin singing some of Magneeto's fur as the winged lizard drew him closer and closer to his mouth, preparing to bite down... "Enough," the same gruff voice from before sighed. The tyranitar got up from his map and hay bale and turned to Charizard, eyes glowing a silvery white as tiny spheres of energy began to rotate around his body... and form into jagged edge stones. "You need to cool off, damn it!" With that said he unleashed the attack, grazing his partner over and over again with the razor sharp rocks, sending him stumbling back and releasing Sparks as a result before tripping over his own tail. The floor shook as the giant went down, KO'd like it was nothing. "Idiot forgot he had a quad-weakness to my best move..." The dark type sighed, looking at Jolteon on the ground. "Look kid, I don't care where you came from or who you are, but I just saved your sorry butt from becoming dragon chow, so here's what I want in return- you're going to take your buddy here, and get the hell out of my house. Understood? And you're going to act as if none of this here ever happened- you never saw us, understood? Either nod or shake."
  12. Sparks "Yeah, from the big-ass hole that magically opened in my ceiling." The charizard pointed up rather irkedly at the abyss yawning above, not noticing the series of spark trials coming from above as he fixed his gaze on the boy, grabbing him by the neck fur and hoisting him up to face level. "You know how hard it was to find this place, kid? I had to scour the base of this damn mountain for weeks, digg it out to be big enough to hold the two of us-" "And the decor," the Tyranitar interjected quickly, holding up a single clawed finger as he continued reading the map. "The decor was a b*tch to get in here..." "Yeah," Charizard agreed, looking the boy hard in the eyes. "And the decor was a b*tch to get in here." "Then I bet it'll be even worse to get the blood stains out of when I'm done with you." A voice called, seeming to echo through the whole room... a voice that was very familiar to Sparks. "You can either put em down, or I can take your arm, it's your choice." "I'll put him down once you reveal your pansy self and stop hiding in the dark like your name is frickin Darkrai." "Have it your way!" Draidon said, letting out an unintelligible, draconic roar as he released his grip in the last few feet of the pit's wall, falling into the round chamber head first, claws glowing teal as he brought them about in an X-like manner, aiming for the Fire Dragon's eyes... only for the Fire-type to let a roar equally as fierce and unintelligible- his shaking the entire space- as he reached up quick as lightning and met both Draidon's claws with one teal glowing hand, holding him there in mid air as the Dragon type struggled against the force of his target's retaliation... Without a single word, Charizard gave another roar, bringing up a wing and practically Bitch-slapping Draidon with it, sending him flying against the rock wall hard and sliding down, arse pointed to sky, rather indignant as he lay sprawled on the floor... "D-damn..." He managed, barely able to recover... "what...what the hell are you?" "Kid, you best start talking a bit more," The charizard said, returning his sights to Sparks. "Cuase I'ma bout to flame broil and make burgers out of both of you like you're Milktanks, got me? You feeling lucky, kiddo? Well, are ya?" He leaned in close to the electric types ear... "Are ya?" Meanwhile, all the Tyranitar did was sigh and cast a glance over at Draidon... shaking his head.
  13. Sparks "Name's not important," The Fire Type insisted, dropping Sparks to the floor after ascertaining he was alive. "What is, is that you more or less just plummeted right into our hideout, son. How are you gonna remedy this?" He began stepping a bit closer, wings unfurling... "Hey, don't kill him," A gruff voice said from behind him. not far away Sparks could spot a battle-scarred tyranitar sitting on a large bale of hay, back turned to the two of them, a map unrolled and gripped in one of his claws. "You kill em, and we got another strike added onto the bounty, got me? And we don't want another strike on there... god knows shit's already hard enough." "Oh please," The fire dragon scoffed. "You kiddin me, ya pansy? I could kill this little runt with a single bite, and my flamethrower could melt Officer Magnezone's sorry self like it was nothing." "It's not Officer Magnezone we should be worrying about..." "Who then?" "Michael." Everything went quiet at that. The Charizard still towering over top the electric type, though his attention fixed on the rock type in the back of the chamber, the latter going back to reviewing the map. "You're a dark type, moron, the hell do you care?" "You forget our last spat with them... He knows moonblast. one hit for me, and it's GG, RIP...." Again, silence... then the fire type turned back to face sparks. "Anyways... who are ya kid, get talking before I decide to disregard his advice and eat you."
  14. #Nostalgia That's right, soldier... I just had to do something with the two old team members, couldn't just toss em away...
  15. Draidon caught the plate in his hands expertly, making sure not to drop a single one of the pastries, going so far as to count and ensure they were all there. There came a sharp cracking sound though... and then a crashing of sorts. "Da hell?" He asked, looking up from his count and finding... that Sparks and the ledge were no longer there. "Awwww....shit." He cursed silently to himself, placing the platter on the ground before running over to the edge of the gap, peering down into darkness... and seeing no sign of the electric type anywhere. "Draidon?" Vince asked as he entered the room, finding his leader looking into the abyss. "Hey, what's going on? I managed to patch up Roy and Ace as best I could..." "Look, kid," Draidon said, turning away and pointing to the donuts. "don't ask questions, just take those back down the mountains and return em to the Kecleon Brothers..." He turned back to the hole, bringing up claws and dragging them across his shoulders, preparing for a long, long climb... "I'm going after Magneeto, this pitfall is deeper than any I've ever seen, spans multiple floors at the very least... and if it goes down to the very first one..." He cringed just the slightest as he thought about how Magneeto would likely go splat in a giant mess from the impact force... if each dungeon's level was at the very least over 10 feet in height, and that's for a small one... and they were on the 12th level... Wait, when did I start caring about him? He asked himself, standing precariously at the edge. He's just another freaking electric type... what had he ever done for me? "Maybe the question you should be asking is what he hasn't done to you." "Who said that!?" The dragon turned around suddenly, his motion flinging the two TMs on his tail spines into the darkness, disappearing in glints of light as the fell out of sight. "said what..?" vince said, finishing up the task of collecting the donuts onto his small back, giving the Drake a perplexed look. "What, you hear something?" "So you mean you didn't say anything just now?" "No. All I did was hear you yell." "..." "Draidon?" "Take the donuts to the brothers, and take those two unconscious nit wits with you..." And then with that, Draidon unleashed his sharpened claws, and leaned backwards until he plummeted into the pit...sparks kicking up here and there as he grabbed certain sections of wall, slowly controlling his descent... Sparks "Hey kid" The Jolteon heard as he gradually began to regain consciousness. He could spot a massive hole in the rock cavern overhead. what seemed to be Torch light glowed from off to his left, illuminating a sizable living space of sorts in a round chamber, walls carved with various scenes and various pokemon. The sound of trickling water came from behind him, slow and monotnous... and he realized he was being held by someone. "Kid, wake up! don't you die on me..." A Charizard's face looking down at him. That was the next thing to greet him when his eyes opened fully....
  16. Make it a part-time job and you're in soldier. cause. remember, he would've still had to finish high school and everything until age 18 And just a word of warning... not being able to hear your surroundings on missions can end very, very badly for you. But do as thou wilt, just be prepared for the consequences...
  17. Lars and Logan "Yes, yes..." The Fox Man sighed, eyes glowing a strange teal all the while. "And so is this." Within a second Sleepy became engulfed in a identical light, beginning to stir and fidget in the Private's arms, only stopping when the Kadabra's eyes- and his own body as an extension- lost the shine. "You won't be doing any place-hopping for the rest of the War Games, I'll tell you that right now. As for oth- Gah... damn it!" He stopped short as a tearing sound forced him to one knee, thick bouts of crimson pouring out of his Achilles' heel as a monkey's cry was heard and Ace whirled about and landed atop a car roof behind them, hands coated in scarlet as he mocked the Fox man...claws retracting back into his finger tips. "I'm assuming this belongs to one of you..." 2nd Lt.Borne said, her cold glare shutting the Symbian's laughter right up as the thing backed up from the barrel of her pointed rifle, putting up his hands and shaking his head vehemently as if to say 'Don't do it'... though the MP looked more than tempted...
  18. "Arceus, how long does it take, Magneeto!?" Draidon called from down the corridor as he walked in, carrying with him two TMs he'd found stashed in the tiger's mane... only to stop his ranting short when he finally noticed the massive gap leading deep into darkness in the floor. "Oh... I guess that's what's holding you up." He brought his tail around and placed the disks on two of the spines jutting out, freeing up his hands before turning back to the Electric type. "Toss em..." He said, palms open and ready to catch... But little did this Jolteon know that while true, he'd gotten his wish, the vibrations from the dragon's shouting had caused the ledge to begin to crumble bit by bit.. destroying the stability that had allowed it to so staunchly survive his leap. perhaps it would have been better to just chuck the donuts over to the other side one by one... but hey... What he didn't know wouldn't kill him. Cripple him, from a fall at this height, sure, maybe... but kill? no, no no no... either way, he didn't have very long... he had better get chucking.
  19. Lars and Logan ((Lols, soldier... that gun is modded to only shoot paintballs, remember?)) "I'm one of the watchers who are supposed to be monitoring the games..." A voice suddenly called in both their minds. in an instance, the light faded to nothing and once their vision adjusted... they saw a fox-man standing before them, looking a hell of a lot like Clemont actually, though a bit shorter, red markings across his belly and his mustache nowhere near as majestic or grandiose. He was flanked by a middle-aged woman in full black fatigues, assualt rifle resting across her shoulder as she glared at the two privates from behind pitch black shades. "And this is Second Lieutenant Borne," The Kadabra continued, forcefully directing the soldier's attention to her... specifically the gold woven bangle-cord on her arm... "What, did you beleive that General Clemont wouldn't have various delegates to monitor different sectors on a closer scale? Well, your wrong my friends, very wrong." He turned his attention to Sleepy specifically as the GAO lay fast asleep in his handler's arms. "Now explain yourselves, Privates. You went and managed to teleport yourselves all the way across the country- that's all I was able to detect before I had to scramble to report to the General and find a MP to pursue you." "He's bein' real nice to ya, ya know?" The female MP interjected- apparently able to hear his voice as well. "I'm personally all in favor of just slapping both your wrists with cuffs and letting the higher-ups deal with you..." She spat on the ground, disgusted. "Tch... goin' AWOL like this, I outta shoot you dead and save them the trouble of even Court-Martialing you. have you dolts even heard the news over the past day or two?" "Finding privates Walker and Kaiser" "Watch yourselves down there," Surge called into the subterran as he coaxed more silk out of the spider he'd just finished tranquilizing, handing the lengths over to Private Carter as Infantry kept watch for anything else that might come at them. With a stroke of his knife the stuff was cut cleanly and Private Cannon hobbled over on his crutches, looking at the silvery rope expectanatly. "It's exactly what you think, soldier..." Surge said, himself and Carter beginning to work the substance into a suitable harness... * * * * * "Private Cannon's coming down, guys" Was the only warning those soldiers who had already descended got from Lionel before he and surge began lowering the injured E-1 into the underground, slow and steady, Lionel serving as the mouth of the pulley while Surge stood several feet back as the base. on non-frozen ground. The staff sergeant cast a glance over to Nathan meanwhile, nudging his head towards the various capsules laying on the ground- some having been there when they'd arrived, some there from Surge subduing and recapturing whatever had escaped and attacked them. "Grey, go ahead and collect those GAOs for us... whoever their old handlers were, they all belong to Spark Alpha now... It's tough, but... it's just the way it is."
  20. Es done, soldier. Old Torkoal turns back, sees his partner isn't fighting anymore but instead is chilling with Lisa... and he says "Oh hell no!" and storms off the field in a tissy. But yeah, ya only won because her Torkoal is a temperamental geezer And Mareek's team's quality of training > Lisa's team's quality of training... so... EDIT: And PS- the laugh was not intended to be a friendly one just like it wasn't a friendly one she gave when the fight started either.
  21. Azery "Hell's Gift!" Lisa ordered as the combination headed for Torkoal- figuring she'd counter it with her own. Torkoal stomped his feet to the barren, charred earth around him, eyes flaring a deep crimson along with the various holes in his shell as he tossed back his head, maw open. From the slots in his shell emerged two ghostly orbs of fire, burning scarlet as blood as he threw down his head, unleashing the fierce combustion he'd conjured in the deepest levels of his gut, the twin spheres spiraling around it like a double helix, surging forwards across the field to meet the combination. The explosion was deafening as the two collided mid field, sending a cloud of thick smoke blowing in all directions before dissipating. Neither the hellish blast nor the electrified pulse of water was anywhere to be seen. Torkoal meanwhile went down to crumpled knees on the charred dirt, breathing heavily as the fires of his shell died back down to their normal intensity. Damn, fights usually weren't this demanding from him, but Lisa... the kiddo was asking to much of this old geezer, he just was too old to keep it up much longer out here, even with the fires of rage pushing him forward... "Tork..." He protestd weakly to his trainer, envious of the youth of the bunny hiding behind her leg. Hey, wait a minute... when had that little wretch just run off the field and abandoned him! So what, while he was busting his old chops making hot salad-ala-steel, she was nuzzling the kid's leg like a cat? Oh, no no no... what the hell happened to team work, did these kids know nothing of honor? "Tork! Torkoal!!" He shouted indignantly, a few rather inapro-pro word not quite fit for the ears of one as young as the Spinda... condemning her as a coward and disgrace for leaving him hanging. And then he marched over to- and past- Lisa and the rabbit, headed back towards the waiting room as he indignantly blew puffs of white smoke from his nostrils... "That's my Tork for ya..." Lisa sighed as she watched the fiery turtle leave, before giving a brief glance back at James across the field. "Well, once he's done, he's done, so I guess the two of ya won... congrats." She started to follow behind the turtle, casting a final farewell wave of her hand as he turned. "Though... I'm kinda disappointed. I wanted to fight Mareek and see what he's really made off. Oh well, but hey, have fun trying to topple that beast in my place!" She laughed as she walked away, and it sounded just like the one she'd given at the start of their fight...
  22. Whose gonna win, soldier? Whose...gonna...win? shit's getting a bit intense out there...
