  1. Hukuna has dropped the RP. I have no news on murdoc and currently have no means to contact him, but I'm going to assume he likely isn't coming back either moving on to why I'm making this post at all though- I've been thinking about this for a few days, and I've come to an interesting consideration... AS it stands, as you all know, I pretty much have no love left for this plot- but despite this, I still like the OCs and the world and how it's built... and I don't want to abandon it... nor do I want to leave you guys hanging and going "wtf man?" But if this goes on, it won't go well, I'll tell you each that now- when a writers heart just ain't in the story, it never goes good. So to prevent the greif and frustration which I know here and now will result if we try to force this dead horse to get back up... I have a proposal for you all: I hate this current plot, despise it. But this was merely the beginning part of a much bigger story- like the prolouge, you see... Though it is the Title's namesake, Eden was going to have very little prominent featuring in the overall RP. No, my friends... the true meat and potatoes of this tale was going to be the rebellion following the findings of Jace Bane and his team. The massive treason that would be set into motion, a revolution much like that of the American's oh so long ago. This RP was supposed to take place in eden until chapter 5 or 6, then once the objective was acheived, the fireworks were to begin... So this brings me to my proposal: What do you all say- Do you want to end this, pretend this never happened and call a complete mulligan for the whole thing? We can start from scratch, I can draft up a new RP with a whole new storyline set during the rebellion, which was going to be far more interesting anyway. I'm willing to answer any questions you might have regarding this proposal; tell me what you want to do...
  2. So, Zephyr, I'm just gonna take it that's your way of ending the interaction...
  3. Kylie (Zephyr) The girl said nothing through the whole incident, Chikorita leaping up into her arms in fear and Gourgeist leaping defensively infront of them both once she had noticed the flames- her ability still set to Flash Fire from the battle... only to begin glaring at the Litwick's trainer with absolute contempt afterwards, beginning to open her mouth and sing as Raiza attempted to apologize, drawing in a deep breath and preparing to blast full volume- This little shit had tried to hurt her trainer, eh? she defintely wasn't gonna let that slide without dishing out a nasty fate of her own... "Um... Look, look, it- it's fine, nothing see- everyone's fine, no need to apologize." Kylie said before the ghost could begin, though her flustered voice gave it away she was quite more than a bit shaken by... that. with a flash of scarlet she quickly recalled the pumpkin before it could curse the girl with it's requiem, cradling the smaller terrified grass type as she began to back up a little. "but I should... probably get going now...so bye..." And then with that, she turned and began to set off down the hall at a rather brisk pace, fighting the urge to run only out of an effort to not add to how horrible she could see the other girl already felt about the mishap... though she still truly did hope that Raiza wouldn't follow...
  4. alternatively you could do something like getting a google drive (Which is free by the way, 15 GB of cloud storage), upload it there, download onto your other machine, and like in the above, installing it. but If speed or something is an issue, I can uderstand why you wouldn't want to do that. ( and aslo suggest using a Highspeed USB jumpdrive for the transfer.) To copy, (I'm assuming your own windows, I've no other experience besides that OS and that of Chromebooks) simply right click on the file, hit copy, go into your file browser on your computer and find the jump drive, right click again in the directory and hit paste. wait for it to finish and hook it to the other computer, copy and paste again where you want it. Or if you can't click for some reason, select the file you want, hit [Ctrl]+[C], go into the file browser, locate the drive for the usb stick, hit [Ctrl]+[V], wait for it to finish, hook it up to the other machine, select, [Ctrl]+[C] again, then [Ctrl]+[V] again wherever you want it.
  5. Do an egg-run. adds a bit of wildness to things, like playing wheel of fortune everytime you aqcuire a new mon because you have to desposit it in the PC in return for an Egg (They hatch almost immediately after you put them in your party and they automatically level up to the same level as the wild mon you had captured and exchanged for it.) And this is very easy to play around with if you want to get a crap ton more members of your team then you probably would get normally, just catch anything that moves... and cash it in. and it's got a good variety of odds- I've gotten eggs for Druddigon, Absol, Seviper, so on and so forth, all before even the first gym... anyways, You'll get a better idea of what I'm talking about here if you just try it yourself.

Chapter 3's basic beginning plot line is more or less looking good because of this.

I do believe I have found my golden method though... at long last, I'm going home.

  7. Chapter 3 of PSS- gonna start with some MGS type business... let's see how good you are at infiltration.

  8. I will wait one more full month and then half of one more, and then I'm finding a way to kill of his characters. I'm not gonna play this perspective indefintely while he's away doing god-knows what.

There is a very big difference between "Days" and months

  9. What dobby said. You can give him hell, but there should still be a feasible way for him to actually win the match. Look at how Zephyr and I did it for example. The odds were stacked against Raiza, but because Kylie had next to no skill in actually reliably controlling her counter-mon, as good a check as it may have been... well, you see the outcome. So yeah. it's a good idea to throw in at least one weakness for the NPC that can be used against them/ will backfire on them to win
  10. The one fact about fantasy everyone and everyone's mother is so misled about: It is physically impossible to draw a sword of more than 2 feet in total length from a sheath on one's back. So all the guys running around with big ass longswords? uh, no. Ain't working in terms of being practical and real.

^^This right here. basically Exactly what I'm getting at with all this.

    3. Etesian

      Etesian

I've seen some solve that issue by having a sheath which is mostly open on one side, so they don't have to pull it out length-wise. The motion is kind of like how Bloodborne's Kirkhammer changes forms.

On the topic of the usefulness of two-handed swords, the German Zweihander actually has a prominent place in history. It was used by a group of German mercenaries called the Landsknechte to combat the popular method of pike warfare. It had enough range to allow them to work their way into close-quarters combat with pikemen so that the pikes could not be used effectively, but the Zweihander still could. It was actually banned by the German government for a time.

  11. Kylie (zephyr) The chikorita backed up a bit as the sightless dragon began sniffing her. And the fact that weird candle thing was practically face to face with her didn't help either- This feeling... it was like something was wrong with it... just the mere presence... She gave an uncertain glance up at Kylie, the girl only giving a reassuring smile in return, slight as it was... still not exactly what she'd been hoping for. knowing she had no choice, the grass type let out a sigh in defeat and shoved down her uneasiness for now. Her focus shifted back to the Candle and the Dragon, her body beginning to shimmer with a strange, Coral glow as she closed her eyes and reared back on her hind legs, forcing them back open, glowing the same color as she sent the light around her pulsing out in a wide mouthed wave towards the deino. Once he had been fixed up she shifted the pulsating waves of energy to Lucifer, the same glow beginning to fall upon him as Raiza held the ghost out in her arms... "See? it's nothing-" Kylie couldn't even finish as her Chikorita bounded away from the two as soon as she was through with Heal Pulse, ducking behind the girl's leg and threatening to trip her up- all the while peeking out with those big scarlet eyes at the Dragon and Ghost like they were incarnations of death itself. "Hey, watch it!" Kylie called, barely regaining her balance. She looked down at the grass type, annoyed by the antics... when she saw the glare it was giving the other student and her team. "Sorry about that," she began, looking back to Raiza. "She's a bit...skittish sometimes around certain types- don't take it as anything personal."
  12. I have found... secrets. will they lead off the frozen peak at long last? Are they the answers I have searched for? only time can tell...time and hope.

  13. thinking of doing a reroll set in the world of surge story using our custom mechanics and tyep match-ups and whatnot...but before I do that, we must first actually finish them...

    1. Commander

      Commander

I actually originally was going to do a reroll. Designing it really helped me find flaws in the mechanics, but I thought it was so well done that I made incorporated it into the RP. Designing characters are quite time consuming though.

    2. Raindrop Valkyrie

      Raindrop Valkyrie

Yea, it is a pain in the bum to do so. But it was another idea of the Reroll project since it gives Hosts a way to dry-run ideas as well.

  14. and yet when Kenny teleported himself via portal, there was no issue... but for some reason when someone else does it (and let's all face it, teleportation is teleportation at the end of the day, there's really no difference in it) shit happens and the schism manifests physically? yeah, I'm honestly not following the logic very well either.
  15. "You know," Ethic began simply, looking at Marcus after the cheif left, keeping Temperance at the ready all the while and his hand on the hilt of his blade. "That was real fucking low what you tried out there. Next time you wanna send a hitman against me, make sure the little bitch actually has some balls so that he doesn't start pissing himself the moment I confront him in the corridors." He gave rather crooked smirk, fingers drumming on the handle before he stopped himself, shaking his head as he recalled that this wasn't the place or the time for any of that... "Don't even bother trying to deny it, there's no one else around here who would have a motive to do it besides you... but that's alright, I see the game you're playing. I've already dealt with a couple freaks of nature a thousand times more of a threat than you could ever pose, and come time, I'll deal with your sorry self as well. One of us ain't making it any further than the black shores of Dis" Meanwhile...in the Arcane Sanctum... ((Been a long, long time since I've written anything for these sociopaths...)) Waite stood before an open vision port looking down in split screen veiw of the fugitive and the traitor, shaking his head in contempt as he watched both men... these individuals who had so easily defied and began destroying the system and the way of things... these individuals who had brought the entire screen of reality down upon their heads- who had shown them that they too were capable of dying still... and that when they died a second time, there'd be nothing waiting for them. "How many do we have left in our ranks?" he demanded from the window. Within an instant a voice began to list them one by one. Some names stuck ouyt to him more thna others- those who might still be capable of killing Ethic and Maxwell and winning this damn war... but even amoung those, there was one name in particular... "The Fool, Chirstopher McCandless." "Stop." Waite ordered, thinking it over... there were so many glaring similiarities between the two of them, so many courses of action they'd both chosen. Both of them had left home due to daddy issues- even if Ghalen's were far more tangible than Chris's... they'd both adopted outlandish psuedonyms, had both wandered the country as vagabounds... but then there was the differences- Ghalen had been looking for something the entire time. Christopher had just been in it for an Odyssey. Ghalen was forward driven by a mission... Chris just went wherever his feet carried him. and ironically enough, they both ended up having something to do with all this... but the biggest one was that Ethic had been clever in his travels, had evaded death over and over again in even the most tense of situations... while the first time Chris had actually been in any real, deep trouble, he had died... perhaps from bad luck, but one had to admit, there had been a fair amount of stupidity contributing to the incident; Alaska was not somewhere the fool had needed to go- and he'd ignored warning after warning... but it didn't matter, the decision was already made. "Call him here.... It's about time he do some actual service on the front... and i know just the place..." He gave a snap of his fingers. The viewing port faded from Ethic and Maxwell's perspectives and shifted into a map of the fifth circle, the water of styx highly visible... "Yes... I think this might work...quiet well..."
  16. I'm not really interested in a destiny RP at the moment. AS for the second idea, I'm a bit on the fence about it- Commander and Hukuna and Kurostune have all made extremely good points with the major issues that would come about with it, and I more or less agree with them. Like hukuna said, It's just too much work spread out over too many minds- and each mind is gonna have their own way of coping with the load and this will almost definitely cause problems as these differing methods are attempted to be synchronized and mediated into something coherrant and doable that leaves all parties satisfied with the end results. but at the same time, there's also what Kurostone said about walking the middle ground for it and creating the basic framework of the world and incorporating certain pieces of the lore made by players into it... Basically, in the way you're thinking about doing it right now, with completely leaving the majority of it up to player influence, I completely agree that it's highly likely to result in an unproductive mess that will frustrate all parties involved due to conflict of interest and opinion in how the world should work, why A works and not B, etc. The only real way I can see the concept ever possibly working is if you were to do something pretty much akin to what Kurostone has described and lay out the basis for the RP's world and whatnot, and then take certain things provided by characters and their backstories and try to build off of those and incorporate them. But like he himself said, this in and of itself can still end up causing problems in some cases... So yeah, like I said at the beginning, I'm honestly in the gray area with this idea in general, but I honestly strongly disadvise attempting it with as liberal an approach as is outlined in the OP of this thread. that's just my two cents though... do with them as you will.
  17. time to start working on the reroll again, I guess...

  18. Kylie (Zephyr) "No, really, I mean it- it's only right that I do something to help you in return..." Kylie said, looking at the fainted ghost type in Raiza'a hands for the first time and getting a solid idea of how she could do just that. "Um...here," She said, reaching to her belt and replacing Hariyama's ball in her hand with another, depressing the trigger and sending out a Chikorita that glanced around curiously at it's surroundings. "Let chikorita here heal your team, it's the least I can do...I've taught her to use Heal Pulse and Aromatherepy, and she could use some practice with them anyway."

      But wait, there's more!

The fanatic and the cherub hold the keys to life and death at world's end. The power of the lost reaches to the heavens whence more. The flesh of Dragon worn by dragon slayer shall end the dark union. The fallen star watches from the eyes of the shaken and converted. The end comes too late, and a new beginning doomed to repeat...

And through it all, the pot is intent on calling the kettle black, when in fact the kettle is white.

  20. Kylie (Zephyr) Kylie again gazed at the sphere in her hand. Perhaps Raiza was onto something... she'd honestly completely forgotten the fact that there were still several more matches still to come in her all despair out there. The girl had a good point; chances were the crowd would completely push the very memory of their mediocre battle out of their minds to make room for the more epic ones between the class favorites- hell, they'd all be completely and utterly overshadowed by the stronger competitors... Her attention was pulled away by a strange tugging on her shirt as she pondered. Standing there- still burning in a flares of dark violet aura from having used Phantom Force to escape the capsule in the girl's hands, was none other than Gourgeist. The pumpkin seemed to actually be apologetic as she lowered her hairlike arms back to her side; not daring to look Kylie in the eye as she looked down at her, stirring one of her stubby feet in the dust of the floor as she submissively folded her hands behind her back. But the breeder could tell that the ghost was ashamed of what had gone down earlier... "Maybe you have a point..." She finally said, turning her gaze away from her partner and glancing at Raiza. "I... actually hadn't thought about the other matches after ours, to tell the truth. Guess I got so caught up and panicked about what happened I completely forgot about students like Sisto and Burlinski and the Blind guy... maybe you're right, maybe this whole thing won't make any difference afterall." She turned back to her Gourgeist afterwards, staring at the phantom for a while. After a few moments of trying to keep an annoyed look on her face, she finally sighed and relented- the Ghost jumped up a little in rejoice; She knew from their history together that whenever her trainer stopped looking pissed at her, that meant all had been forgiven... she herself was still a tad bit miffed with the fighting type though... "Um, hey..." She said, turning back to Raiza as the thing continued to jump for joy at exoneration "By the way...thanks for that. I Guess I might've... overreacted a little just now."
  21. Sometimes I think I'm better at merely playing rather than actually hosting... cause as a player, you don't have as many opportunities to let ambition get the better of you and end up doing stupid shit with your writing because of that. But as a host? You've got free reign over that rodeo... and that can very dangerous... if you've got the same problem as me, that is.

can't. So...what do I do now? how do I reverse my own foolishness from earlier? Sure, I can fashion a rope of wisdom from all these mistakes, but I ask you, the reader of this, what good will a rope do, if as soon as I reach the earth again, the fire will be back to lead me astray whence more?

    3. Sutoratosu

      Sutoratosu

^^And I mean this right here...

I can try all I want to stop myself, but it's just gonna keep happening over and over again if the past is any indication. And I honestly don't have the solution for it anymore.

    4. Commander

      Commander

While I have no experience in hosting, I've had plenty of experience in the writing world. The best way to overcome this is to simply let your characters dance across the screen and simply enjoy the show for what it is. It may be difficult to understand what that means now, but it'll eventually make sense in due time.

  22. Kylie (Zephyr) "You don't get it..." the girl shook her head, turning away from Raiza even despite the compliments. "You don't get it at all... yeah, sure it might've started out OK, but... you saw everything. Do you even realize how many people were watching that; how many people saw that complete embarrassment in the end?" She glanced at the capsule still in her left hand from the recalling earlier, her grip tight as iron as she cast a glare into the reflective red surface- seeing only the face of a failure starring back up at her. "To make this all even worse; He wasn't always like this, ya know... He used to listen, back when he was a Maukihita- used to actually respect whatever I said- but then it came time for him to evolve, and he started acting like some selfish, overly macho show-off who would always charge off like an idiot as soon as a fight began." She let her hand drop down to her side, staring at the monitor against the far wall as she continued. "I had a strong connection with him; but as he evolved and got stronger, so did his Ego... I've tried everything I can think of, every God Damn thing! and then even after that, I still tried coming up with even more new ways to rebuild the bond... And none of it has worked at all." She whirled back to face the other student, a bit of anger showing in her eyes now; though the majority of it was simply a by product of pure frustration. "Do you know how much of a fool I looked like out there? Before all this, I was a nobody, I was just a fly on the wall, managing to stay under the radar... But this? How the hell am I supposed to live this down!? I'll probably become the school laughing stock; I mean, do you know how fucking ridiculous some of them can be? Just look at that Baldwin guy, they all hate him and hurl slurs at him and call him a dessert rat simply for the fact that he beat a few of them hard and they're jealous of what his team can do; If they do that to someone who happened to be better than them in a fight, then what do you expect is gonna happen when with me, The girl whose own team started fighting each other in a match on international television and instead of stepping in and retaking control, she froze up and turned quiet as a mouse!?" She backed up a little, realizing she had been drifting a bit close to the trainer during the rant. She let out a sigh, turning away and shaking her head yet again; reminding herself that it wasn't Raiza's fault for the incident- but hers, and hers alone. "And then, like that's not enough as it is, there's also my parents at home in Sinnoh too; and I guarantee you they saw their daughter let them down on the battlefield today... I've become the class fool and a failure, all in the same day..."
  23. Kylie (Zephyr) ((This was while Alvin's battle was going on, just to clarify)) "What do you want?" The breeder demanded after she realized Raiza had followed her all the way off the field and into the stadium Corridors. Her face still held that dejected, defeated look from the fight- on the verge of tears though she fought to hold her emotions back. She didn't even bother to try to meet the other girl's eyes; though Raiza could still see they were a bit red. "Oh, what? was being able to watch that little fiasco not enough enjoyment for you? Did you feel the need to come rub it in about what happened, To gloat about how I can't even control my own partners long enough to even actually finish a preliminary battle? Well go on then, just do it and get it over with and leave me alone- it's not like anything else can make it all any worse at this point..."
