  1. So, Science Fantasy is an actual thing, eh? Well, let's see where this rabbit hole takes me...

  2. guess we'll keep going then... even though only 3 out of 9 players have actually said they want to. just so you guys know, because this has been something that's been ongoing and become a rather large source of frustration for me over several weeks; that's kinda a peeve of mine, I mean, I can understand if your busy with IRL stuff and miss some things that are said/ asked on here, I get that, I honestly do, you all have lives outside these forums and I respect that. But after a while of asking questions of players and always getting a piss poor amount of answers at best out of people... It's been rather consistent, and it goes on IC as well. I try to give opportunities to freely interact with each other and the NPCs, to talk and get some character development opportunities to you guys, and it kinda feels like so far that effort really hasn't been worth it from the lukewarm amount of people actually taking advantage of it. I can't help but feel like I'm talking to thin air sometimes. I mean, I acknowledge people and answer them whenever anyone asks questions of me, so... it kinda just gets to the point where it feels like I'm wasting my breath and shouldn't even bother... Now, understand me loud and clear, I'm not trying to blame you guys or anyone here, maybe these feelings I'm having are unfounded and it's just in my head, I'm just trying to tell you all why I've gotten so frustrated and fed with this RP at this point that I'm honestly ready to quit if you all want to just end it. Again, not blaming anyone, not trying to ostracize or shame anyone, I'm just trying to tell you guys what;s going on in my head concerning this at this point so that you can actually know and perhaps understand the reason for my overall disdain at this point in time and why my attitude is so raw and negative about this compared to every other story I run. So yeah, just figured I'd just put it out there. I'm sorry if I come off as a bit of a dick lately here, I truly am, that's not my intention here, but there is a reason for what I've said, and it's above. and again, maybe it's all in my head and I'm imagining it, but either way, founded or unfounded, it's affecting what I do and say and how I think about this... So I'm going to ask again... should we bother going on? Do you all want to keep going with this? It;s supposed to be something or your own free will, and if you don't want to do this anymore, I certainly won't force any of you to. Go ahead and don't be afraid to be honest, a "no" at this point honestly can't hurt my feelings or my pride. and I mean it this time. anyone who doesn't answer on here by a weeks time will get a direct PM from me asking the exact same question.
  3. "Yes, you would," Jace agreed. "But you also lack the leadership and improvisation skills that Garren Forrest and Lance Quiet have displayed so far on this mission. I've read your profile, soldier. You may be damn good at what you do, but put quite simply, you're people and communication skills leave something to be desired and ergo, you are not fit to have command placed in you. With Forrest and Quiet, Stone and myself at least have a simulation backed analysis that there's a higher probability of the Recon teams surviving than with any other possible commanders aside from ourselves. There's alot more that went into this selection than just how far you can see and how well you can aim, soldier." "Here's what his point is," Stone spoke up coldly, glaring at the sniper. "If you want command, then go down this entire line and list the names of every single one of your fellow soldiers and get at least 3/4s of them right immediately without any assistance. And then when you're done, list each and every last one of their backgrounds and match them to each soldier." He had made his point... chances strongly were that given Whitt's personality, he'd fail that test with flying colors. but then again, everyone here would fail, except of course for Jace and Stone themselves. "The camp was under complete surveillance by the way, We know what each and everyone of you did last night, which of you socialized, which of you put that small amount of time to use and got to know your team mates better, and which of you just basically dicked around and wasted all that opportunity." "You've made your point, Commander Stone," Jace said, turning his attention back to Garren. Quiet had already stepped up long ago. "Get moving, soldier!" The scout broke out of his day dreaming, apologizing to his commander before stepping up beside the mysterioso swathed in black. "Now," Jace continued, looking at the rest of the team. "If I call your name, assemble behind Lance Quiet! Whit Venerman! Sarah Answell! Jack Smithson! Kenshin Amano!"
  4. well that's basically just the same thing I had an issue with in what he did in the first place... EDIT: oh screw it, so long as he doesn't open his mouth at any point and interrupt the conversation...
  5. Sparks The moment he entered the smaller chamber from the corridor, Sparks could see exactly what Driadon was talking about- There, against the back wall, was the platter filled with donuts, though they no longer steamed with heat fresh from the oven... at least he had found them intact. Hell, from what he could tell, the thief hadn't even eaten any. Now the only thing that remained... was to waltz over and take them. ((Use caution here... or not, the choice is up to you. ))
  6. Well... don't know How I missed that. EDIT: fixed. And really, Kenny? really? kinda were trying to have a private conversation there... one that was kinda important infact... then again, whom am I to reprimand someone for sneaking up on folks and listening in?
  7. Galen "Yes, I have... and he's among the most annoying and whinny people I've ever had to meet," He answered the girl's question. "And to make it even worse, it seems the little fool isn't anywhere near as willing to assist us as I was led to believe by teach.... His consideration of the idea is... lukewarm at best and doubtful at worse. Though I think I can get his cooperation if I dangle a certain carrot before him and just keep it constantly out of reach..." Mareek Mareek stopped in his tracks at Henry's words, staring at the stair case in the distance down the hall as he stood to the side of the other boy. He Knows, eh? Well, guess it's not surprising, if anyone it would probably be him, afterall... the guy has a freaking classified report on Cipher in his possesion. "They'd have a pissed off Scyther whose protective as hell to deal with if they did anything to me." He said simply, not turning to face Henry, hands in his pockets. "And the idiots would probably blow their cover if they attempted to take me out of the picture right then and there with witnesses, so likely nothing would've happened at that particular moment." He turned and finally glanced at him. "As for that Kenny guy, I'd like nothing more than to kick his ass for that stunt earlier, but I guess I'll have to settle for just letting Erce beat him down in a battle someday... but that's beside the point here. Tell me, what exactly do you know about this, Baldwin? ....Probably more than I do at this point thanks to that dumb ass..."
  8. alright...let's see what all this is about... he's focused on finding his little Adopted Orphan right now and chooses not to speak out of the sake of preventing distraction, but whatever Henry's going to say, I've a feeling he's going to stop in his tracks...
  9. Mareek "Amazing how that works," Mareek muttered to himself as he started off after his little Orphan. "Me and Java spend all this time searching everywhere, and yet I send out the most extroverted little cubone to ever live, and within less than five minutes, he's apparently found them... guess that's nemo for you." Before he could get to the turn off though, someone a bit unexpected got in his way- Henry... He didn't exactly know the guy all too well, but he didn't have a problem with him either, given how he'd helped him finish his notes on Cipher with that report earlier in the semester, and stepped in when that Dumbass Kenny decided to open his big mouth. Still though, he would have to be quick if he wanted to keep up with the Bone Keeper... the little guy was deceptively fast despite having such tiny legs. Without a word, focused on the current task, he sidestepped the other young man, attempting to pass by him and follow the Cubone... Nemo "Cube...?" Nemo backed away a bit as the candle approached him. Something...won't quite right bout this ghost-thingie... or maybe it was a fire type thingie? He'd have to ask Erce before their battle later; she'd probably know what the hell this was supposed to be, though to him it honestly just looked like someone had carved a face onto a candle stick, lit a violet flame, and just let it melt until it came to life... say, was that even possible? Hmmm... another thing he'd have to ask Erce- or maybe it would be better to talk to Java about that one. "Cube, cubone, cube." He said, gesturing towards Lana and Raiza in the crowd with his club, assuming the Litwick had some ties to the dark haired girl given the fact that he'd never seen this thing with Lana's team. The message he had given the Ghost type was obvious; his trainer was looking for the girl...
  10. no prob. And you can go ahead and find and talk to him out in the hall if you want (He hasn't followed Nemo yet and is still there), I want to see what exactly this "Possible conflict of interest" could possibly be...
  11. So, went back to work on a novel I had started during Nanowrimo and decided to scrap a while ago... and know I'm finding all it needs to salvage it is some reworking and TLC

  12. Wait, Commander, is Henry going into the waiting troom to talk to mareek (That's kinda what I was getting as I go back and re-read your post)? because if so, he's not there, only poked in for a few minutes and left back out to the hall.
  13. TFW you're just so done with it that you ask players if they want to just pull the plug

  14. It started over a week ago. And I announced it on here too... http://www.pokemonreborn.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=12025 ^Chapter 2. And the reason I ask to check for interest is because, not gonna lie to you guys, I'm honestly not too pleased with this thing anymore and wouldn't mind pulling the plug if you all didn't want to go any further. So I figured i would ask before even going to the trouble of taking control of Garren to move us on. At current in the story, we're supposed to be assembling into two teams for the investigation of the complex... but we're waiting on flux to respond and since he hasn't been around for a while, I was going to do it myself... EDIT: aaaaaand we got ninjas.
  15. Is that the only one who's still interested in this? We can just stop here if you guys don't to continue... go ahead and be honest, won't really hurt my feelings at this point if you don't want to carry on.
  16. then you likely logged out of your forum account (Happens automatically when you close a browser while on the site) too quickly for/ before the forums hit the next two minute mark to autosave. It should work on any thread, in fact there should be a tiny timestamp at the bottom like Zephry said both while you're writting and when you go back for the text later: Here's what I'm talking about: ^^^^^^^^^^See at the bottom right here
  17. You know that the forums auto save what you write every 2 minutes so long as there is new content in the text box by the time the next time interval comes about, right? you don't have to necessarily save it anywhere; the site can do it for you and you can just log back in later and go back to that thread and finish it.
  18. Galen Oh god... here comes the little annoying shits... "Indeed I am..." Augustine said simply, not bothering to look at his young subordinate, instead keeping his eyes glued to Tweedledee and the little narcissist sitting in front of him. "Seems teach wasn't kidding about you three... I trust you've already been briefed about the basics of the assignment?" Mareek "Well, I don't know where they could be..." Mareek said to Java after they finished checking both Waiting rooms. The porygon2 just hovered there in front of his face, looking a bit frustrated at the second failure experience that day; first the surveillance, and now they couldn't even find a girl... though she might be a bit invisible, still, it felt humiliating to the Co-Strategist that despite the upgrade and his increased abilities from evolving, things weren't exactly going as smooth as they should've. "Are you alright?" his trainer asked. Damn... and to top the failures today, there were these troubling occurances going on in his psyche... these damn feelings that were beginning to sprout, emotions he'd never knew it was possible for him to feel before, things vague and confusing, things like curiosity, shame, happiness, the list could go on... they were deep, they were stronger than anger, stronger than pride... and Java knew it was affecting his operating performance. "Java? Java, you still with me, buddy?" Mareek was snapping his fingers in front of the creature. Only at the sound of it did the AI realize he had zoned out into space again... "I need... time... to think. Send Erce in my place..." was the only message Mareek got from him, coming in bold black letters on a nearby tv screen. Before he could get anything further the Porygon2 retreated into his capsule, refusing the emerge when Mareek tried to send him back out. The trigger was being disabled from the inside. No matter what he said, there was nothing that Java reacted too. It was like some teen girl who'd gotten upset with her parents and locked herself up in her room... "Really though?" Mareek sighed, finally giving up and bringing out Erce and Nemo, apparently the team he'd have to use for this match later on today... "Alright, well, change of plans, Nemo... Java's got some things going on, so now... you'll be fighting alongside Erce now." The cubone looked at his new fight partner eagerly, holding up his club and chiming a bit of encouragement. Erce didn't seem too enthusiastic about it, but she also didn't seem to have any real issue with it. "So that means our fighting style is going to have to change... you two know about the Rider tactic..." They both perked up at the mention of the idea, obviously understanding what their trainer meant. "We'll roll with that and use Erce's speed and evasion skills to our advantage while you, nemo, will be launching attacks from the air while she moves you around. We'll strike, meld away, and come in to hit again. sound good?" They both nodded, Erce snickering at the plan while Nemo slapped his club against the palm of his other hand, obviously meaning business. "Then we have it settled," Said Mareek as he recalled Erce yet opted to keep Nemo out; he still needed someone to help find his opponent. "So... you see Lana anywhere?" The cubone looked around the hallway, still tapping his club against his palm- looking a bit intimidating as his eyes finally caught a glimpse of something around the corner...a stair case, with noise... what if Mareek couldn't find Lana because she wasn't even down here? Without a word to his trainer, he rushed off in the direction and up the concrete steps, not bothering to see if the boy followed. "Cube!" He called when Lana and Raiza came into view as he emerged up into the stadium stands, hoping to catch their attention as he wandered closer...
  19. "Indeed... with the fog of my anger gone, I can see that now..." Eric agreed. "And you are right, it's more than just a political title... While true, ideally nobles are supposed to be their namesake from the first member of their line until the last, what meaning does this title have when it was one of either two choices given to a man; with the other being death for dishonoring a king by refusing?" "It means the exact same thing," Gilwyn interjected, sounding a bit annoyed. "Whether a ruler hands you the patent over a glass of wine at celebration banquet or they hand you it while they hold a sword to your throat; You are still bound by honor and basic Ethos to act as your title suggests, Nobly..." He moved past Eric and walked behind the counter, beginning to the check the carved spaces in the wood holding supplies. He made no eye contact as he began placing gear he knew they would need on the wood slab. "But...you show something that most misbehaving nobles do not; the ability to see the wrong and the hypocrisy of your actions. You recognize your misconduct and are ashamed by it, and you see that it is your anger that's the root of why you acted that way... and so perhaps you will be able to learn from this." By the time he was done, a good dozen saddles were on the counter, along with saddle bags, large, leather satchels reinforced with wood bracings on the front, looking as if they could just as well serve as personal inventory carriers. Gilwyn straightened himself, leaning forward on the counter and looking at Eric. "But do not allow this mistake to be repeated, Vonters... in the fight we're getting involved in, making the same errors again and again will get us killed before we can stop anything at all. Understand, boy?" Eric said nothing, merely nodding his head though he looked a bit annoyed at being called 'Boy'. "Good," Said Gilwyn. "Where are the others then? Time is a commodity we don't have." "I sent Aaron and Cesealia to get maps," The apothecary answered. "The Dirosi man, Rodriguez, and the woman Esmerelda each headed off somewhere on their own... as for the rest of them, I've no idea, but I told them all to meet at the north gate in about an hour's time..."
  20. Screw it, I'm just going to control Garren until flux shows up around here again. My patience for this is at this point not as much as it should be. but before that, I want to take a tally of whose still in this and interested so that I can determine whether or not it's even worth trying to continue.
  21. Oh, you're back? everything alright now? and like Zeph said, no worry about changing things... I myself rework crap for my RPs on an almost weekly basis :/
  22. Oh, you KNOW I ain't leaving this thing. as for where those three are... Hell if I know, but Super has been gone for over 3 weeks now. Something must've come up on his end. I've got nothing on flux or Riley though. If you see either Super or Flux though, let me know too, since I'm waiting for them in my own RPs as well...
  23. He stood there for a good while, Gaze locked with Matrim's glare, Eyes cold as Polar Glass. There was complete silence between the two of them, both men simply standing there, engaged in a duel of wills, of perspectives... and all the while Eric played through his actions in his mind, seeing for the first time how blind his anger and chargrin at the man's insults had made him act. He had thought he'd been driven by logic while he'd been going about it, that he couldn't be faulted for his course... but now, with the fog of rage beginning to slowly ebb... he realized how petty and childish he'd been- Not to even mention incredibly stupid; the damn stall had cost most of his emergency fund, and god knows how much that could have come in handy on this journey... That wasn't revenge. That wasn't retribution... "It was pure and utter stupidity..." He admitted to himself, turning away from the Highway man and shaking his head in spite of himself. "You're absolutely right... This title destroys my character even as I deny it does; In my rash anger at a few mere words, I allowed myself to become the very type of individual whom I'm always so vehemently claiming I'm not to people, Abused the power of coin and tried to ruin a man, in the process squandering a good portion of a wealth stash that could've easily saved all our lives at some point in the future during the journey... and then when all failed, I was about to commit the crime of Sorcery and kill that man like a coward as he walked away from me." "So you see it yourself then?" Said a semi-familiar voice. Gilwyn approached from where he leaned against the opening of the alcove, Eyes glued to Eric as he removed his hands from the pockets of his torn coat. Obviously he'd been there for a while. A complex bit of Illsuionary magic had kept him out of sight up until now, though given how things had begun to sprial at the end, He'd decided to drop it... just encase intervention was needed. "I saw the entirety of that little interaction Vonters..." He continued. "luckily you had enough control to refrain at the end, but even still, there remains the fact that you allowed yourself to even get that far in the first place..." He turned his attention to Matrim, no expression at all on his stone cold face. "From what I was told by this "Rossephus" and the pope and basically everyone and everyone's mother after myself and the others were captured- There are great and dark times lying in the future... times that for some reason, our little party is needed to help resolve on a favorable note. And if we're to somehow do that, yet the man who apparently installed himself as leader since the incident earlier is so rash and vengeful with just the slightest provocation as he was just now..." He trailed off, hoping the older man would get what he implied: Eric needed to be removed from his place, someone else would need to lead from now on- for a rabid dog was nothing but a danger to everyone.
