Would giving something Return be too high powered at this point? I mean for something with as strong a bond as Erce has

I'll have Mareek try to get Java evolved if he has free time later on since alot of his free time up until the festival has been spent teaching Nemo to become a lonely swordsman

Pokémon Academy: Ch 3: Winter Cup [IC]
Sutoratosu replied to Chim's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Nemo stood on a stool at Mareek's end of the stand, having been tasked by his trainer to man the front and help Lana, his eyes following various patrons as they walked by, some stopping to browse, others to buy. He was friendly enough for a cubone, able to draw in some onlookers who looked a bit iffy on dropping cash for one of his trainer's many creations organized on the table top. There was a variety of effigy's to choose from, some of them of pokemon, some of them symbols or objects, all of varying sizes. There were even a few functional works like canes and a few small chairs and benches Erce herself had been convinced to go the extra distance and carve. The last few weeks had been hectic for them all to say the least, Him and Erce and Java. Mareek had been forced to start rationing time in far more stricter manner than usual for training, and had stopped allowing as much nonsense in the process given that free time wasn't exactly growing on trees between having to carve piece after piece of work and setting up and arranging everything to make sure the stand went smoothly. Nemo had received as much basic sword training as his trainer could squeeze in during his sessions, as well as the most time out of the three of them, being taught proper footwork and stance and grip before going on to movement and coordination on the battlefield, something which Mareek had covered by having multiple targets set up in a single area and ordering The Orphan to strike them all with a maximum of two strikes. The results had gone well, with Nemo becoming more and more adept at his technique and footing as he came to develop his own style for using what little bodily stature he had to most efficiently wield Bone Club like a Bokan or Katana. He wasn't fast by any stretch of the imagination, but Detect had proved to be an interesting and obvious stratagem for it to use, Coupled with Stealth Rock, which Mareek had figured out early on could be used as more than just a simple hazard, but a shield and cover of sorts as well... and a very interesting system of attacking and defending, the way Mareek had figured out how to pair it with ancient power. The last thing to be worked on was a few branches off the Ancient Lightning combination, Nemo learning to channel the energy from Ancient Power into his Bone Rush simultaneously. He didn't have many coverages, but at least he'd be able to stand an actual chance in a fight now, much more than he had when Mareek had found him. Java meanwhile had seen most of his sessions within the walls of the training center, Mareek focusing on improving the Porygon's response time and resistance to attacks, placing him in front of type machines and having them launch attack after attack, both physical and special based, and all the while having the Co-Strategist use Conversion 2 immediately afterwards without Mareek having to command it. The next step had been even harder; having Java wait just until an attack makes initial contact, and then using Conversion 2 immediately after initial hit, just like he'd tried during the Torkoal encounter on the trip. The going was tough, But Java powered through and in no time had the entire thing down pat, able to wait and ride out an assault with resistance after the impact. Mareek had him immediately move on to training his marksmanship, making sure to have every offensive Move Java knew be used on target after target without Lock-On, large and small, stationary and moving alike, to the point where his accuracy near impeccable even without the use of Lock-On. They had even managed to get him to learn Icy Wind towards the end, something Mareek hadn't much time to work with, but was sure could come in handy with just a bit of thought. Erce had gotten the least amount of time, but Mareek had made damn sure to use it creatively, having her practice her movement speed by getting her to carve as many sculptures as she could within a few minutes flat, honing her natural speed and reflexes to a razor fine point, not to mention getting their Carvings done in much faster amount of time. She was like a machine when it came to craft, getting work down far faster than Mareek himself could with his own two hands and tools. Along with that a few rounds in the Training center had been done to see how powerful the strength of loyalty really was, with Erce taking the fires that had forged her bond with Mareek and learning Return. Having gotten enough Carvings down ahead of schedule, Mareek had even taken her for extra sessions to work on heat resistance using Vacuum shield and honing her ninjutsu tactic. All in all, things had been crazy for all of them, yet through it all they somehow had managed to keep up with their Trainer's planning. Mareek had gotten back a bit of his old enthusiasm for a battle, and they could all gladly feel it. But at the same time they each knew that what he cared about wasn't winning to tourney; What he cared about was becoming strong enough defeat a very certain someone when the time came; a certain someone whom Mareek felt needed to be brought to the hands of justice more than almost anyone else for what they did. The tourney meant next to nothing to him; He didn't care about the BP prize, he'd get more than enough from the joint stand he and Lana and Danielle were running now, even with splitting it three ways, and it's not like he was all that great a need of it anyway. What mattered here was not power, as they had all come to realize from their training, what mattered was Strength, real strength, the type that comes from within, from the heart and the soul. Mareek knew he would need that type of strength to overcome the man he hated most in all the world, and he knew he'd need that strength even moreso to prevent more people like Galen from getting away with their actions. He had a world to change, and instead of using power or money, like so many terrorist organizations had tried in their own missions, he had already decided he'd go an entirely different route; He would have strength of character, strength of heart, and all the resolve that would come with it. He wasn't going to back down, and he wasn't going to flee from any terrorist of any ideology; he would fight them all. Fight them all to make the world a little brighter of a place, a little better of a place. And his whole team knew this, could feel it in the pace of their training, and more than anything else; They could definitely respect his motivation and resolve, even if two of them didn't exactly know it's cause. And all of their training had paid off big time. Here they were, at starting day of the festival, and they were on the road to someday being ready for the fight that would really count. And Nemo couldn't help but be a bit proud of being apart of whatever Mareek was going to do, what he was trying to attain and become. And that proud gleam shone in his eyes as confidence as he watched other vendors and patrons mill by all morning. Business was going quite well for the stand to be honest, They'd already offset the cost of the wood and other materials, which wasn't much given that most of it had been harvested from the Academy Forest; everything from this point onward would be pure profit on top of what they already had. While true, Mareek would have to split it three ways, not that he had much of an issue with that given that everyone more or less pulled their weight for their share, by the time the festival would be over, he figured he'd have enough to be sitting well for a while. Not that he needed the BP or anything, given his grades and constant training with his team, but it was always nice to have a large surplus... "Looks like my carvings are a major hit," he said to Lana as he carried over a metal tray filled with request carvings from the work space he'd set up not far away, Erce and Java both attending it and churning out requested products as the commission's came in. "Thanks again for agreeing to help out; Nemo here probably would've had a few issues trying to do it by himself... though he does make good security, doesn't he?" as if on cue the Orphan activated bone rush and made a few quick strikes in the air reminiscent of sword strokes, just as Mareek had managed to teach him in those crash courses. A proud gleam, the very same that he had in his eyes the whole morning, shown as he twirled his Club in his hand, ending the show of his budding skills. "I'm honestly surprised though," Mareek continued, taking the new carvings off the tray and placing them into the Commissioned works section of the table after taking a sharpie and writing the client's names on tags tied to the works, while they were churning them out fast enough to the point where the wait wasn't more than a few seconds, some people nevertheless wanted to walk around and browse neighboring stands until it was done, But either way Nemo made sure to keep vigilance and make sure the only people who came and collected them were the ones who had actually paid and requested, prepared to deal with any would-be thieves trying to snatch carvings commissioned by Clients who had decided to walk around. "I never really expected this to go so well so fast. Erce is churning out commissions a mile a minute thanks to all that training and practice I gave her. Heck, by the end of the festival all three of us will probably be swimming in BP like there's no tomorrow..."- 1255 replies

Mareek wouldn't really care as much about how it looks so long as it's presentable and at least some what respectable in design, so Danielle probably would've had free reign to do what ever she wants for it.
-
So, just to be sure: Chimchain and Darklight: Lana, Mareek, and Danielle still have the partnership for the festival wood carving stand right?

"Some initiation then..." Elemus scoffed as he rolled the dead idiot's body off of him, springing up from the floor after retrieving his other knife. With a quick spin in his hands he sheathed both the twin daggers back into their places behind his belt. He cast a single glance back to Lucille, smug, his eyes questioning her as if to ask if she really still wanted to go in with this charade any longer after this. She simply ignored his look, walking past him and addressing the red haired woman. "So this was a set up..." she began, glancing at the dead men in the room, though not letting her cold gray eyes linger on any of them for more than a second at the most; she would've felt a lot more sympathy for the slain bastards if it hadn't been for some very... obvious implications that had been made earlier on. "And I'm guessing that those who you were willing to sacrifice for this were nothing more than fodder; either just unfit to do their regular job or simply unable to meet your quota?" -

((Short updates, yes, I know. More will come next time though, Children)) Tempest "Why" Ace asked. "This is the first time the entire day when he's actually been quiet, do you really want to make this time any shorter than it's going to be?" Seacrest "sounds like a plan," Mac agreed, taking a few steps back before charging through the falls just as he had before, disappearing behind the other side with a splash. SnapCracklePop Perfect, Torrent thought to himself pridefully, chuckling at his latest bout of manipulation. Another guy around to help me win my meal ticket on easy street... noice! Kage meanwhile said nothing in regards to the Axews decision, though he honestly thought that joining Seacrest would just end up in the kid being burned... it was the boy's choice, afterall, everyone's entitled to it. And everyone's entitled to their own mistakes as. Even though he and Michael and Rodric had made a mistake in siding with the castle, didn't mean that it would play out the same for this recruit. and so it was that the Gengar witheld all comment on the matter, simply carrying The still unconscious Wartortle and Pixi under his arms

Anyone can build a Chassis/ body for a Drone, but the people who make the AIs are of an entirely more elite stock altogether. And I'm liking Sarah Gratas for some reason... kinda like how I liked Mama Nix from PSS... but thankfully, unlike Mama Nix, I don't have to kill Sarah when I'm done with her character XD Edit: wait... just realized rose's PC is named Sarah too. Great, now I gotta go find a different name... :/ Edit 2: Alright, with my magic hosting powers, I have renamed her! She is now Ester. Ester Gratas

Kenshin "Im not sure if that's a compliment or an insult," the girl said. "But if you must now, my name is Ester. Ester Gratas. and about you're comment about being able to match one of my drones... Romulus, Remus!" she called out towards the back of the tent, a silent hum coming forth as a diamond shaped craft about the size of Kenshin's own drone hovered up from a table and made it's way to where Sarah stood. Meanwhile from the other direction from a table towards the front, coming to a halt right beside the first one. The twin machines sat there in the air, their red and blue optical lenses both focused on Kenshin and the mess on the table before him. "You called for us, Ms. Ester?" one of them, the red lensed drone, asked her in a male voice with a tint of a english accent that sounded so clear it was as if it had come from an actual person. The girl smirked as she glanced at the thing. "Yes," she began. "This engineer here says that he thinks his Drone could match either of you." There was silence for a moment... then both the drones AIs burst out in laughter at the boy engineer, hovering around his work station and analyzing his own drone. "This?" The red lensed one asked, finally stopping his amused manner. "You honestly think that this, this piece of soldered scrap on the table, can possibly out power me? My electromagnetic weaponry systems could utterly tear the circuitry of this rubbish apart in just a firing barrage time of ten seconds flat. Or I could simply blast it with radiation from a microwave ray, cook it like an oven. And it will never function again no matter how many repairs you make if that were to occur." It's lenses turned to it's apparent colleague in the matter. "What about you, remus? how poorly would this thing fair against either of us?" "Are you kidding, Romulus, dear friend?" Remus asked, his voice holding a gravelly american accent. "I don;t even have to conduct an analysis, the mere sight of this thing on my sensors tells me that it would be nothing but fodder. I doubt it's AI is even capable of speech, let alone learning through experience rather than having new lines of programing introduced." "Indeed," Romulus concurred, oblivious of Kenshin standing there as they continued to go on and on about how poorly constructed and how botched the boy's prized drone was. it wasn't until Ester snapped her fingers that the two's attention was drawn away from their little conversation. "That's enough, both of you..." She sighed. "My point has been more than made at this point." With what seemed like reluctance, the two fell silent and hovered back over to the girl's side, still gazing at Kenshin and his handiwork. "Do you still think that comment could be valid?" she asked Kenshin, jabbing her thumb at the chest of her exo suit. "You see the color I wear, right? I'm not some random person that was pulled off the street in desperation for this mission; I'm a legitimate agent of the Esperanza Government, just like my parents before me. I've been around drones and other AI operated machinery my whole life, I know them inside and out, better than the back of my own hand, so do you really think anything you could make could stand a chance against my arsenal? Romulus and Remus here are among my most advanced creations yet, I've had them ever since I was a kid, been working on their systems and upgrading them for years and years now, to the point where I'm not sure if they're just programed or actually self aware at this point..." "Ms. Ester!" Romulus said in an exasperated tone, cutting her off. "What shame! to suggest that Remus and myself have yet to attain awareness, conscious of artificial mind, you wound us deeply!" "Do you see what I mean?" Ester sighed, nodding towards Romulus. "It's honestly too hard to tell the difference anymore..."

Under The Hill [OOC/Sign-Ups]
Sutoratosu replied to Notus's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Phantom can sense presence apparently when he's inside his alternate dimension; which I presume to be how he managed to recognize Ethic Taylor and Reily before he actually saw them. Since taylor's presence is more or less the same even though he's a far younger man in appearance now, I'm guessing Phantom is pretty much just saying "Screw it, it must be him even despite that." at least, that's just how I personally am interpreting this whole scene as being. Flux would be able to give you a better answer most likely.- 1735 replies

Really? In PSS, be honest, how much of chance would you all realistically have against that unknown threat you'll have to someday face? If it can kill God...or at least seriously wound him to the point of being worthless... like sensai said, it's just Mostly impossible. anyway, yeah, many tricks, much wow for me. now about the freaking command tent situation...

Those are just the most powerful things I have cooked up; obviously you all won't be suffering the wrath of those weapons until very very late into the plot and even then probably not in a direct -Pointed in your face- manner. that and a little thing called "Moderation" that will be employed. I have many things in my sleeves, many things indeed... I needed resort to absolute force to cause havoc or set up some interesting circumstances; I've got an entire classified armory of devices of various degree of power to choose from.

Now now... no need for that folks. Cause I've got Nukes and Dr.Devices in my arsenal; far better than Bazookas and throw in some predatory Species that may or may not be entirely the product of evolution and adaptation coupled with tech like nothing ever seen before... yeah, I don't need ideas.... I already have them

Kenshin The young drone expert rubbed her temples upon hearing Kenshin saying he was using scrap metal, of all the things she had heard of noobs doing... This was likely the dumbest screw up yet. "There's your first problem right there..." she sighed, taking the electronic welding torch out of Kenshin's hands and shutting the thing off before tossing it to the ground. "You're using metal to try to reinforce and shield it; when a far more lighter and efficient solution would be the same Exo Shield tech used in these suits and on star ships." She again pursed her lips as she glanced down at the drone lying on the table before Kenshin, pieces of scrap welded onto the thing in a fashion that suggested the person using the torch was either insane or had taken no consideration for the thing's weight capacity, or possibly both. "Just... just get up and move away from the drone..." she sighed, shaking her head in utter disappointment. "The thing is botched at this point with all the excess weight you've put on; Top of the line T2 Hover Drives would be needed just to get it in the air, and you can't juryrig it for higher grade tiers with the small power capacity this one has..." She took her gaze off the pitiful failure and looked back at Kenshin. "I'm sorry, but as it is now, this thing is utterly worthless. You're better off simply extracting the computer drives and software memory banks and implanting them into a new model, and no, simply soldering off the metal you've added on isn't an option unless you feel like destroying it completely; A plasma torch would be far too powerful and end up cutting right through to the circuitry." Vixen and Garren "but for a few," The two suddenly heard from yet another mimic in the trees, this one talking in Quiet's own voice; obviously this one had been too stupid to flee with it's pack members. "I'm afraid I will have to eliminate them. The danger of them simply being pawns of the Council when the time comes... well, you see my reasoning here. Especially the sniper, Whitt, as I'm sure Stone has apprised you of the Roster change... He's cold, soulless even-" The mimic's speech was cut short and morphed into a simian roar as the thing dropped from the tree tops, fangs brandished and mouth opened wide to take a bite out of Garren's face from above. The only thing that saved him was the Guard Talker picking up a nearby broken branch and flinging the limb with as much power as it's arms could muster, impacting the side of the Chimp's face like a freight train and caving in it's skull as the beast fell off it's course in the air and tumbled to the earth, twitching as blood and grey matter leaked from the grievous wound. The collared Chimp walked over with a look of disgust and gave this mimic a complimentary lethal neck message like he had the other two. A sharp snap echoing out as the Mocking little furry bastard was finally put out of his misery. The Primeape guard cast one last glance at Vixen and Garren, it's eyes holding even more arrogance and pride than before. Then without another noise it gracefully scaled a nearby tree and disappeared into the forest canopy, leaving the two standing there alone with the three Talker Corpses... Notus and Dobby The mess tent was just as white and sterile as the Decontamination center had been, albeit with several compact foldable tables and chairs arranged in rows throughout the place. Not a soul was inside though, not a soul except for the Man walking around in a Blue Exo Suit signifying a ranger corp operative, pushing a cart and setting MRE bags down upon the table tops along with knives and forks and spoons, along with pitchers of hot water, three per every table. He noticed the two and tossed bags at their feet before going back to his work, a look of boredom marking his face. "Dinner won't be started for another half hour or so," he said dejectedly, eyes dull and lacking in life or luster. It looked as though he were a zombie in a way. "But hell, it's the same shitty MRE crap almost every single night; all the good shit is back home in Esperanza for the fucking ESFAs to enjoy..." whether the man's apparent depression was other this sad fact or something else though, was unclear. "There's water on the tables, ah hell, forget it, I'm sure you probably know how to prepare these stupid things already..."

Leon watched as Zoliver the fool made his way down to the melted street, spear at the ready and ears open for the roar of the two wyrms in the area. All around him and the young knight tiny, spherical lights of a sky blue began to flicker and flare, seeming to move idly from place to place like wraiths of some sort, each one casting an ethereal glow in the night air. Twas like watching tiny lanterns of azure flame hover to and fro randomly. "And so it begins..." Leonidas sighed, obviously familiar with whatever was going on here. A few of the lights hovered over to him cautiously, halting and stopping behind walls before peeking out and moving closer. Even more were beginning to gather around Zoliver... "The rest of you, get down here!" The hero ordered up the slope, his tone suggested no time for any nonsense. "Especially you, Deric!" the magistrate was already making his way down, his sword at the ready in his hands, expected to find some opposition that would've warranted Leon's sudden shouting. "The hell is this?" He asked Leonidas once he was on the melted stone and glass. The lights surrounding the two men turned their attention now, seemingly drawn by the Magistrates voice, noticing his very presence, like a beacon to them all, for the first time. They could sense it, this man's soul, he was a bringer of salvation for them in their lost nature. And so it was that the lights did the only thing they could... they flocked to the light. "They're souls..." Leonidas said a bit dejectedly, the look on his face seeming as though he dreaded this situation for some reason. "If you had your memories, you'd remember quite clearly all the times we came across this type of thing...it's always like this after a mass death..." He turned to the slope and those still on it, finding Lucien and Absalom now scrambling down, the gun slinger reaching out and pulling the Dirosi boy back to balance before he could trip at the base of the hill and carve his face up on the broken shards. The only ones Leon could still see was Sinbad and Darius and the Mute boy who had been making strange hand signs as if he were casting some spell. "ALL OF YOU!" he shouted once more, a bit of anger palpable this time at having been ignored the first two rounds of orders. "Unless your legs are broken, you will get down here, and you will do it NOW!"
