Under the Hill - Fourth Circle: Greed [IC]
Sutoratosu replied to Notus's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Ethic headed down the corridor from the briefing area, no real destination in mind, he was simply taking a look around the place. He had to admit though... this was all rather weird... but not much weirder than what he had already seen down here. "Didn't Dante write something about a bunch of people jousting with huge weights on their chests?" he muttered to himself as he went. "Hell, did the guy even actually ever set foot in this place? I didn't see any violent storms in the Circle for Lust...which I honestly would've preferred to those Damn Loving Dead. And I saw no castle in the first circle, though... eh, maybe the Library was inside the castle... but still, the inaccuracies are so obvious that you'd think the guy was drunk off his ass and only half awake when he came down here..."- 303 replies

"hmm, amazing... simply amazing..." Fractal said, accepting the items and examining each one carefully, especially the orb. "why, in fact, this seems to nothing more than a common Escape orb or something similar... and yet with what you claim, and your form right now..." "that's precisely why I summoned for you, Fractal," Mira spoke up, breaking the Scholar out of his intrigue. "It seems he is telling nothing but the truth from this evidence. I need you to go..." she paused for a moment, as if dreading what she were about to ask. "Go...find Michael." "Michael?" Mercury looked questioningly at his sister. "Him? after the massive falling out all those yea-" "Ah, yes, Michael," Fractal chimed, cutting off Mercury. "Now he was an intellectual peer and rival whom I could actually respect... shame about the conflict of views though. Very well, My Lady, I shall get right on it starting now. First I'll check the city." with that said he handed the items back to Otto and then rushed through the falls, disappearing from the scene as quickly as he had entered. "Well, I guess that's that for the time being..." Mira said, then looking to Otto. "You should probably change back now... the other castle members will panic if they see like this when you introduce yourself later."

I can see what you're talking about with the Grass VS Dark match up, and I guess the Fighting Type matchup Kinda makes sense in a way of natural Instinct and experience playing a factor... but I think the most fighting should be against Dark types, even with that justification, is neutral since it's justification before that GameFreak came up for it being SE was that it was "righteous" and Dark was "Evil, and literally nothing else besides that.- 1189 replies

Seacrest Just at that Moment, Mercury burst back through the water, this time in the company of a Glaceon. "You summoned for me, Lady m- Dear Arceus!!!!" Fractal leapt back in surprise, nearly going back through the waterfall as a result. He recovered and began pacing around Otto's human form, examining him like he was some old scroll, obviously intrigued... "So... Mercury wasn't lying, there's a human here?" "Indeed there apparently is..." Mira sighed, disappointed she'd have to actually lose a bit of money this month. she had honestly hoped the Oshawott was a complete loon. "Gone on," she sighed again, looking at Otto. "Tell Fractal everything you told Mercury and I..."
-
Seacrest "Well can you offer any proof?" Mira pressed. "Anything at all? I need to see some hard evidence from your story. Understand, I have to take a castle member out of his assigned position in order to send him to go find a reliable source to verify what you've said, which will doubtlessly gunk up the smooth workings of this castle and result in a slight drop in quality of work, thus leading to a downturn in the monthly profit margin. Before I send him out, I need to see something from you that can support your claims, to know that I'm not wasting my time with you, but am instead just undergoing a small loss now to prevent far bigger ones in the future."

[OOC/Sign-ups] Surge Story
Sutoratosu replied to Sutoratosu's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Well... how does everyone feel about the whole "Fairy trump dragon" deal pokemon currently has going? as we have it set up, Dark is Aphotic while Fairies are Photic, and while the whole "Energy field poisoning" Murdoc suggested could plausibly be justified in some way, we would also have to give Dark Types the advantage over Dragon since they both biologically generate special electromagnetic fields which effect waves of the Light Spectrum. Oh, and also... found a Biologic explaination as to how Dragon's could've possibly breathed fire (Which we can probably use for all fire types now...) How? In most stories, dragons are omnivores, meaning they have two different types of teeth: sharp teeth for tearing meat and flat teeth for grinding plants. Some writers have hypothesized that dragons might even use their flat teeth to grind rocks. Grinding rocks doesn’t seem to be an action that would provide any nutritious value whatsoever, but it’s not unheard of in animals. For example, birds sometimes swallow rocks to aid in their digestion. Birds actually have two chambers in their stomach. The first chamber, the proventriculus, acts the same way human stomachs do, secreting acid for breaking down food. But, since snacks like seeds and nuts are so hard, birds swallow grit and small rocks, which accumulate in the second chamber, called the gizzard. The gizzard grinds the swallowed rocks against the seeds, smashing the hard foods and aiding in digestion (“Bird Digestion”). Dragons are known to feed on livestock (and occasionally humans…), so sometimes they might swallow such prey without bothering to completely tear the meat apart from the bones. The hard bones could prove to be an issue for digestion, giving dragons a need to grind up and swallow rocks to aid in the digestion process. However, unlike in birds, this process could actually also be responsible for providing dragons with their fire-breathing powers. If we assume that dragons follow the same digestive process as birds, then dragons will have leftover food and acid remaining in its two stomachs after the digestive processes have been completed. Bacteria in the intestines feed on these undigested food particles and release intestinal gases composed of hydrogen and methane through the process of fermentation (Mayo Clinic staff). In humans, these intestinal gases would be excreted through burping, bloating, and flatulence, but it can be speculated that dragons could actually store the hydrogen and methane in its body in storage sacs and call upon it for later use during fire production. I think a fire-breathing dragon is much more terrifying than a farting lizard. Now for the flint – when a dragon grinds up large rocks, metal-rich rocks would leave residue on its teeth. Then, as the dragon releases its hydrogen- and methane-rich gas, the gas would mix with the oxygen in the air and be ignited against the metallic residue (Dove). As a result, this combination of rock-grinding and intestinal gas storage creates the perfect conditions for fire-breathing. And there we have it! Fire is spewed from the dragon’s mouth.- 1189 replies

Seacrest There was silence in the room. Then Mercury started chuckling, followed by bursting into full laughter. "That...that is simply ridiculous!" he cried out in his amusement, before finally managing to get a hold of himself. "I'm sorry, but did you honestly hear yourself just now? Darkrai's back? yeah, sure, and so is the Dark Lord Garitina. Maybe next you'll go spouting on about some holy Pidgeot or omnipotent Omastar?" he glanced up to Mira as he began hopping over to the group, meaning to usher them out, still chuckling a tad. "Terribly sorry about this, Mira," he said. "It seems these three actually turned out to be nothing but crazy." "No, Mercury..." Mira said, halting the Duke. "Wha?" "It sounds crazy, yes... but we shouldn't go dismissing it so easily, if what he's saying is true... well, no world, no more money, and we can't possibly allow that, now can we? We should at least try to verify what he claims to be going on." "Um...very well then, my lady..." Mercury sighed, disappointed that his sister was actually going to heed the nonsense that otto had just spouted. "Good to see we're on the same page then," she chimed. "Now, go summon Fractal, this is a job best suited for him." "As you wish..." with that Mercury hoped back over to the Waterfall and plunged through again, disappearing from the chamber. Mira looked down at Otto. "So," she began. "You claim to be a human...?" SnapCracklePop "Well..." Torrent looked Alistair over, seeing no obvious sign of any particular affiliation. "Are you part of a team or something? A castle? or are you a rouge like Mr.Kage here?" Tempest The House was gradually thinning out as the team kept up their offensive, Ace and Vincent managing to widen the circle around them while Draidon was busy covering Roy, who had, in his reckless abandon, been hit with a Parasect's stun spore and was now stiff as a board. The crowd around the dragon was a bit weary of attacking, know having knowledge of his Fire Fang attack which had taken down most of those who had engaged him. Meanwhile, around Sparks, several Ariados were closing in following his dispatching of the Natu's two on the ground, crawling at him and unleashing String Shots, while another scurried along the ceiling of the room, letting out a Poison Sting from above... it was somewhat Obvious that they were working in tandem.

"I'm the man who saved you," Deric answered upon reading Shavian's note. "as for that Inn, I assumed it burned down with everything else in the city... that begs the question; Mind explaining how you could've possibly survived those flames? they were hot enough to melt stone and turn sand into pure glass, look..." he gestured over to the City, and Shavian could see he was right. several strange glints of light relected in the illumination from the moon, making the glass that was once thousands and thousands of pieces of shattered stone very visible. The buildings looked as though they had melted like ice, making somewhat of a messy skyline in the distance...

Well, at least he knows its not gonna be a magic ticket out of every situation..."Admittedly, yes, it was," Mareek concurred cooly. "I didn't really see anything else that needed addressing besides the Metronome matter, but I'm sure you already know why it's far from the most reliable type of move one can use for shielding or intercepting." -
"Oh yes, less than a 1% chance of the outcome ever being different, that's nice..." Leon grumbled before answering the Knight's more important question, effectively pocket vetoing the whole conversation. "We head to the city from what I can gather from things. Apparently that's where this little encounter that killed his friends took place. Oh course, Deric would be better suited to lead you all there. it was his buddies that were slain, not mine." "You are truly beginning to piss me off, Sky Slayer," Deric said, before turning his attention to what was left of the outskirts of Lithania. "Last I saw Marca I was retreating from his damn dragons... bastard somehow managed to find two and get them to obey. On the way out I found that bloke over there, somehow still alive despite the flames that had torn through the place." He pointed over to Shavian, who still lay on the ground watching...

"Then enjoy your time as a highway man," Leon said humorlessly. "But it's not as simple as "try hard and hope the future changes" my young friend. We've been shown the likely results, peices of how this war is going to end. Anansi showed us all what is likely to happen when we signed on. We all accepted it. No matter what you, or any of you do" he pointed his finger at each and every member of the party in turn. "The futures of myself and him and the other four will be the same at world's end... Nothing. in the most literal sense of the word. So there's your answer, Deric... I haven't suffered my greatest loss yet, but I will in time." he turned back away from them, like he had been before. "But we knew what we were getting into... and we have a job to do, and damn it, I'm going to make sure that it gets done, and that it is done correctly. Now hurry up and finish your tale so that we can get down to business..." "Tell me," Deric said to Darius Sarcastically. "Do you all have to put up with this Egotistical, mass murdering, mentally insane ray of sunshine on a regular basis?"

A chuckle emanated from the hero, slow and solemn, dark, filled with enough venom and anger to last multiple life times. it was a deep laugh, a laugh that would shake even the most courageous down to their cores. on and on it dragged, picking up in intensity with each moment. Lucian instinctively began moving his hand to his gun, sensing that something may be very, very wrong... Deric just looked at the sky slayer, vexed by whatever the hell the man found so funny from the question. Absalom had the same look of confusion. "You damn fool...oh yes, I keep forgetting how thoroughly Anansi conducts his memory wipes," he said finally, glancing over his shoulder. the glint in his eye was like nothing they had ever seen before, not one of them in the group. It was a thousand times fiercer than any look Deric had ever given them. "Fine, I'll answer your question, old friend... You." "Wait, what?" Deric asked, having no idea what the hell the sky slayer was talking about. "You make no sense, monster... I had never even laid eyes on you in person before this night." "You," Stratos insisted. "Every Last one of you. all five. You, Circe, Mushasi, everyone. The best Friends I ever made, and You're all going to do die in the end of this whole mess... and there's going to be nothing I can do about it, because I'll be dead right along with you." he turned to face Deric and the others fully, his voice strong as steel. "This is the second time for the rest of you, but I've had eight runs in this world... and it ends soon, all of it. no coming back, for you or for me... because all six of us will be gone, nothing once this is over. The future is not bright or pleasant for those of us from the Heroic era, Deric... but you'll come to remember this soon enough. Afterall, it was you who was the first among us to accept this fact..." Deric only stared at the man, then "What the hell are you ranting on about?" "That's a damn good question..." Lucian muttered to himself, not really sure if he would need his gun or not, but he kept his hand hovering near the pocket, just encase...

"Then what about you, boy?" Deric next asked, turning to Absalom. The boy hesitated with his answer, then finally with a cold tone. "I watched my father be struck down right before me not long ago..." "My condolences then," Deric said, nodding. next was Lucian. "And you?" "My father was a monster, let us all just leave it at that..." Deric again nodded, knowing exactly what probably happened. He glanced over at Leon, truly the only person who had yet to say anything the entire conversation. "And what of him" he asked of the group. "I assume someone with a track record as long as he has probably lost more people than all of us put together." Leon heard the question, heard the whole conversation leading up to it, but did nothing when he was mentioned. He simply stayed there, back to the group. His silence was actually beginning to become unsettling...

Chimchain "I never asked for your help, remember?" Eric corrected Trystane, a bit miffed the hunter had gotten the facts of the night screwed up. "I got dragged into this right along with all of you, we all agreed to help Muya and those other two go save the world or something... I just happened to be the only one who got pissed off enough to neutralize Not-Aaron and then seize control of the mission after they got captured by that thing. You made your pledge to them. So don't go pegging me with making request I never actually issued; all I've done so far is take up the reigns when the imposter was running wild like a spoiled brat and wearing my friend's body like a meat suit, and it was obviously needed, cause I saw no one else making a move to do it." He looked trystane in the eye, something stirring there like a silent, turbulent storm about to be unleashed. his tone was laced with more than just a fair bit of malice. His wrath from the earlier days of his medical career was beginning to show itself. "I guarantee you I can get a thousand times nastier then you ever could muster, my friend, I've got years and years of experience putting up with various forms of Bullshit as an Apothecary and Medical Practitioner; I'd have no choice but to get like that whenever Patients lied to me, it's the only way the problem would ever be solved." He glanced at the Knife in Trystane's hands. "As for the plan, it was relatively simple at first, we drafted it while all of us were walking from the city gates: we'd head to Nix with the rest of you, and if Rossephus didn't die by the hands of those who were leading this nonsensical goose chase, then Cesealia and I would do it ourselves for safe measure. Either we'd get close somehow, separated from any of his men, and slit his throat, or I'd use the old arts to burn him to nothing but cinders. From what I was told and what I had seen prior, the man definitely seemed like a danger to the entire world. The two of us were just plotting to do what was necessary if Muya and her friends didn't.do it themselves. Of course... things got a bit complicated after they were kidnapped. We had to redraft everything while I was restraining the infiltrator; I expected for there to be a sizeable force at the front gates, I expected this to be a trap from the very beginning. We changed things so that the moment Rossephus showed himself, I'd bind my own life to his. After that, depending on how things played out, Either I'd rescind the bind and Cesealia would kill him covertly, or she would kill me and end up taking him out with me. If for some reason she would be unable to act, I would take it upon myself and sacrifice my own life to bring the monster down." He again turned his gaze to Trystane with the same withering glare. "And don't go giving me that 'You endangered us all' Argument; every last one of us was already endangered the moment we agreed to help Muya, you all should've gone into this knowing there was a chance you wouldn't come back out alive, I did. This is the entire world we're talking about, and personally, if a few have to be sacrificed to save countless more souls, what is the vice in that? True, the plan could've easily taken a turn that would've proved to be lethal for the rest of you... but the alternative for not doing anything would've been to let this man go on with whatever he's plotting. We can't trust him, or anyone who chooses to side with him. I've seen far too much evidence that all he wants is to end us all. You remember the whole city that he destroyed? How many do you think perished? How many murders has he already committed?" He glared directly at the Conqueror now, giving a light snarl. "He is what the church must've truly brought forth this night. The Sky Lord and his church was probably a complete lie, merely a front for those conspiring with him. Maybe this is what the Sky Slayer was really fighting against all this time... this beast before us with a silver tongue. maybe the entire world has been nothing but idiots for standing in his way whenever it could, all while he was trying to save us all..."

I apologize for that, Kenny. I allowed my anger to get the better of me for a moment there.
-
Again, I am sorry about the rant, Soldiers, it's just that, after certain events and individuals in the past whom will not be mentioned nor discussed ever again here, I now have a bit of a hot button when I see things like this happen to Hosts I know, because I can emphasize very well with the jobs they have to perform on a daily basis and I know what the job is like, which leads to me getting more than a bit angered when crap happens. I'm not trying to ostracize Kenny here or anything, but I just felt I needed to speak up about this situation, for the benefit of all parties involved. Eh, well, maybe I'm just wrathful nowadays... I quite honestly can't even really tell the difference in myself anymore
-
Sorry soldiers, But I think I need to step in right now: I just...no, nah uh, not gonna stand by and watch that be said. I know you are NOT going to go and actually say that type of crap with that tone to a host while I am sitting right fucking here. Private Kenny, you're beginning to get beyond disrespectful with that last comment right there. Everything about that is just... NO. Soldier, you DO NOT control the story around here, Sergeant Chimchain does, he CREATED this WORLD, and drives the ultimate conflict for us all to participate in, get that STRAIGHT right now, cadet. He gives YOU scenarios and interactions, not the other way around, got it memorized? I have sat here and watch him try to give you interactions time and time again in the story, and you just either side stepp them or ignore them, which has been discussed already. What I'm really hot about right now, is that here you are, Private, going and brushing off every scenario he tries to give you, and then having the nerve to set up your own, which from what has occurred in the past with ignoring the one's he's tried to give you, is somewhat of a slap to the face in a way, and then complain about it when you decide to give him control and something you perceive as a "mistake" is made. While I have not read the actual scene in question, I'm also not going to because at this point, it's beyond the central thing I'm trying to get across here. now, am I saying it is not possible some discrepancy has been made? No, I am not, Everyone's human, even hosts, mistakes happen. What I am saying, is more or less this, Straighten out and fly right, soldier. You need to recall that you are not host here, he is. One of the things that makes Roleplaying so enjoyable is seeing what your host will throw at you in a given situation, but instead of letting Chimchain actually throw scenarios at your PC, you've gone off on your own tangents and set up scenes of your own in this RP... it's just... IT almost looks as though you forget who is supposed to be serving what role here, Cadet. Like you're beginning to forget a bit about who is supposed to be conducting this here train to it's destination. And honestly, I think it needs to stop, Soldier. There. sorry about that rant, but I just could not bring myself to sit by and hear that being said without speaking up myself given the circumstances of this current situation in question with the Goomies/ Dratinis. Because if you had said something like what I quoted above to me if this were a similar situation stemming from similar circumstances and events in one of MY RPs...

I would try to give you a synopsis of recent events, but to be honest, I probably don't know that much more about things right now than even you do. -
I was used to just roleplaying on here, but my Ambition made me think I could handle it because of that; I was already writing a crap ton of words most, if not every, day. Yeah, no, did not happen at all like I was arrogantly thinking it would. I'm just gonna put my ambition back in her cage for now, she's had a bad track record with always burning me in the end lately... but watch, I guarantee you, one day probably not far in the future, I'ma get stupid and choose to let her back out... I tried putting her away after the PSS chapter 1 fiasco, took her back out for this, and...yeah, you see my problem, right? Calling it now soldiers, calling it now.

"None here," Ethic said, stepping forward and taking one of the levitating Radios, stowing the device in his pocket. He tossed one last glance at Not Mr.Taylor and the Killer, then satisfied that not even the murderer would likely be bold enough to try something right now after he left, began to head towards the Exit.
