  1. Soldiers, looking back now, I do believe that My portrayal in the anime was meant to be a jab at Americans. http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Lt._Surge#In_the_main_series

    1. Maelstrom

      Maelstrom

      It's possible.

I thought that was like, a thing. Like a well known thing...

  2. No need for worry, Soldier. Stratos was not that commited when he embarked on this mission. And he also had the hunch that people wouldn't take too kindly to constantly being called 'Maggots' and such.
  3. It's a personal challenge that Stratos issued himself, Soldier. a day ago, he decided that he needed to do something crazy and drastic in order to break the habit he has of instilling too much of his personality into his characters. As such, he cast aside his old persona for a new one and determined that in order to prove to himself that the issue is resolved, he assigned himself the mission of having to maintain a new personality and Persona on the Pokemon Reborn Forums for at least 3 months, starting on October 16 of 2014 and set to end on January 16 of 2015. You got all that, Cadet?
  4. Surge moved down the line and picked up the next pack and rifle as Nathan slung his over his shoulders. "Clint Cannon! Step forward, Soldier!"
  5. "Oh yes, Robertson," Surge said, turning his attention to Jory as he raised his hand. "These will indeed be Live-Fire Exercises...though, not as you might think they are. We will not be using actual guns for this excursion, but instead X19s and old M-16 models that have all been modified to shoot paintballs but retain all of the recoil and handling feel of the true rifles. As this is the GWC, however, obviously those won't be the weapons mostly focused on." Surge suddenly reach down to his belt and retrieved a Capsule from it, depressing the trigger and releasing his electric mouse from it's sphere. It tossed a quick look around at the Soldiers, then wasted no time in scurrying up Surge's leg and taking it's traditional perch on his right shoulder. "The weapons we will be mainly using and testing during these Urban Games, are your GAOs." He turned his attention to Logan next. "As for Allies and enemies, this is a free for all, more or less, meaning that there are no pre-assigned allies or teams. Ergo, we are free to decide who we form alliances with and who we will target." The supplies sat in a neat assembly on the ground, each of the packs expertly assembled to most efficiently use the least amount of space needed, resulting in not one of them looking even the least bit bulky or chaotic from an outward appearance. Surge walked over to one, picking it up along with the Modified M-16 beside it on the ground. He read out a single name from a tag that had been attached to one of the bag's straps. "If there aren't any more questions, and no, I do not know what the challenge is, so don't ask me, then I'll issue out the Packs. Nathan Grey, Step forward, Soldier!"
  6. Oh no, Cadet. Trust me, Claude has demonstrated that he has no fear of the Female Gender.
  7. Murdoc Elybis stopped his pacing as the old bard finished his story, now behind the man. "Yes...this. This would be something capable of igniting your fire..." he circled around to look the highway man in the eye once again, that same blaze from before still in his iron gaze. It seems Matrim's story confirmed exactly what he had been suspecting. "Matrim," Elybis began. "we walk the same paths then, you and I. We have both lost children and mates, failed to seek out and destroy those who posed serious threats to our families' safety before they could act. It is a darkened path, one in which we can only hope that there will be light at the end... but even if there is no light for us, even if all that awaits the end of the journey is the Pit of Darkness, let us walk it together. Let us seek redemption for those we have failed in the past... as rider and steed."
  8. "Spark Alpha," Surge said. "It appears we have no Mission today... nor for the next week." opening the folder under his arm and beginning to read over the text again... hell, even he didn't know what they were going to be doing, only that from what his superiors had told him, none of the Squads were going to be on any assignments for the next week. What he found inside the manila envelope explained everything though. "War Games," He chuckled to himself. "Of course, good old War Games..." He turned his attention up from the de-briefing documents, looking at the assembled men. "We will instead be participating in a base wide Training program, known as the 'Urban Games'. Grey, Freeman, I'm sure you two probably already know what a war game is, but as for the rest of you..." He tossed the folder to the ground, scattering the papers to the warm june winds; after all, it's not like he was going to need them to explain one of his favorite things in the world. "A War Game is similar to a competition, the way it's done nowadays, Several squads are chosen and sometimes combined into units under the two acting COs joint command. The objective can vary from a couple of things; Capture the flag, Rescue the hostage, Kill the Tango Leader, retrieve the Classified data, and on and on. Basically any type of military operation you can conceive of, it's a possibility to be the challenge issued in a War Game. The Urban Games are a special type of War Game set in, as the name makes clear, Urban settings, and revolves around objectives that would be commonly carried out in an urban zone operation." He looked at all of the squad members in turn, making sure what he was saying wasn't just going in one ear and immediately out of the other. "Any Questions so far, Soldiers?"
  9. I'm afraid that might be a mission much easier said than done, Sergeant Chimchain. So, Captain Notus is back? I'm sure he'll be glad to hear that Vermilion's Gym Leader and Finest War veteran has stepped up to the call.
  10. It seems you all tend to find yourselves pinned into various Shenanigans and sticky situations around here, Cadets. That there is one of the perks of not being very social... You won't get pulled into all the craziness.
  11. alright, Spark Alpha, to clarify what is needed in the new IC: you must ask me what the hell you are doing today. It's time to descend into the Rabbit hole, soldiers.
  12. Three long months have passed since the attack on Fort Bexly and the showdown at the Airstrip. In those three months, the good Staff Sergeant Surge and his soldiers in Fox1, the newest and most inexperienced squad of all those within the fort, have become known all throughout the base as Heroes; The slayers of the Ice Phoenix, as many have taken to referring to the mysterious bird, and not only that, but also the ones to locate the man responsible for the attack. On that day, March 18, 2062, Fox1 went from being mere cadets in training, to being fully fledged soldiers in their deeds. On March 21, They cast off the name of Fox1, having finally decided on an official name for their Squadron... Spark Alpha. Their training, though they had yet to complete the official evaluation required, was deemed to be finished by U.S. General Arnold D. McCarthy, Head of the Land Division of the the newly formed branch of the military, the Genomic Weapons Corps. (GWC), born out of the "Genetically Altered Organism Wielder Program" following the US government to give the wing full independence from it's sponsor military branches two months following the assault on Bexly. Surge is not one to allow his men to rest on the laurels of their deeds, however. Quite the Contrary, the work load has only increased since the Ice Phoenix incident. Under his diligent command, Spark Alpha has carried out numerous assignments around the complex and the surrounding areas, from Manning the front gates and guard towers, patrolling the Perimeter and forest, to Guarding teams of Bexly Research Scientist on Field Studies and Dish Duty at the mess hall. Life on the base falls into a steady routine for the soldiers, wake up each morning, report to the mess for breakfast, return to the Barracks, and wait for Surge to arrive with that day's assignment. But the winds of fate are still blowing for Spark Alpha Squadron. One day, they are called out of the Barracks by their CO... but instead of a standard Mission debriefing, what they find is Surge standing out front, a manila envelope in his hand, ten supply packs and various pieces of gear lined up in a row on the barren ground behind him. At first many of the young soldiers believe that they're being deployed to some far off war zone in some country they've probably never heard of before... but then they realize the folly of that assumption; This is not the War on Terror. America has no active war zones anymore, nor has it for the past thirty years... But that still begs the question: What's going on?
  13. Eh, none of that right now, Soldiers! There'll be plenty of opportunities to battle... especially against those damn Terra Omegas...
  14. All right, Soldiers, all that's left to do now is for me to introduce the mysterioso and begin your little march.
  15. Well said, Cannon. Well said... Don't try to rely on brute strength though.
  16. Soldier, why'd you start a new thread for this? all that you had to do was edit a revised title onto the existing one.
  17. Soldier, I should warn you then: by sheer coincidence and happenstance, Freeman's team has developed to posses a near perfect type countering to yours. proceed with caution.
  18. Most excellent, Commander, this is just what we needed around here. Your vision and foresight is sure to lead us all to a better tomorrow.
  19. Here is my team, Soldier: Infantry Lvl 42 Lvl 30 As for Freeman: Lvl 32 Lvl 28 Lvl 27.5 You looking for a potential rematch with Freeman, Cannon?

  22. All apart of my plan to break the personality mold I've developed... let's see if I can sustain the change...

water hmm... since you like Swampert which is Water/Ground, there are 4 other water/ground-types:

      Quagsire, Whiscash, Gastrodon, Seismitoad

      otherwise:

Lapras or Walrein are solid water/ice types

  25. K_H "Hmm, No speed... but you can make quite a bit of noise, eh?" Wind Tracer stopped circling around the man, puffing out his pridefully. "Very well then... I think this may still work. Yes, I can see it now; the two of us scaring the living shit right out of our enemies as we ride into battle. My glorious, glorious speed and your sudden and random explosions rocking the air and shaking the very earth itself, giving my approach the sound of a thousand cavaliers charging... yes, I believe it's enough to strike fear into any heart foolish enough to face one already as magnificent as me." he nodded to Ko'Luki approvingly, his eyes blazing with imagined glory."Tall man, I shall accept you as my rider!" Murdoc "I am called Elybis," The stout male answered Matrim. His shoulders and back were rippled with muscle under his pitch black coat, his legs looking powerful enough to jump a chasm at least twelve men across if he had to. His face and body were covered with various scars, apparently from countless past battles to protect his pack members. Little did the Bard know he had chosen right on the money... Elybis was obviously a defender of sorts, and a rather old timer to have accrued so many battle wounds. "How interesting..." He circled around Matrim, examining the man much like Wind Tracer had with Ko'Luki, though the older horse took a noticeably calmer gait, far more reserved than the youngster's. He stopped after a few times, looking the Bard square in the eyes."You say you are a bard...but yet I see a cold fire within you. This fire does not belong to one who spends his days merely playing music; but to a fighter who has lost much and gained little to make up for it...It is the fire of one who has been charged to protect others, but has failed that duty in the past." If the man looked back into Elybis' stare, he would probably notice a fire that well fit the description there. The mount's eyes were wary and tired, holding a deep seated sadness, as if he still mourned for those he had failed in battle. And yet they also held a quiet determination, a fury even, simply waiting for the appropriate moment... for the moment that he could redeem himself for his past shortcomings by stopping any more precious lives from being stolen. He broke off eye contact and resumed circling. "Tell me, bard, if you will... I have seen countless Shadow Steeds under my protection slain and eaten by predators over these long years... even my dearest and oldest friend. But ...What have you lost in order to ignite this fire I see? It must have been truly great to yield such intensity..." Chimchain "My name is Blackjack," Blackjack said in a hostile tone. "And you and I will most certainly not be 'teaming up'. Quite frankly, I am deeply offended by the way you continued to patronize me even after my speech became completely understandable to you... like I'm some common, inbred donkey who can't tell earth from sky or bird from fish. So, you sir, may go and find someone else to get friendly with; because you'll find no hospitality from me personally."
