PokéNations Matchups Thread - Week Five!
Sutoratosu replied to Rooreeloo's topic in Pokémon Fan Club
I am here to confirm Due to Kingklay7 being unable to battle, I subbed in against Pineapple. It was a close and good game, but in the end it came down to who had the most luck. Pineapple indeed defeated me with barely two party members left alive on his side. Congrats to Bibs, old friend. We both fought well till the end. but I have still failed Volcanic Today... and I can not even begin to apologize for that. -
Exodus: Beyond Eden- Interest check
Sutoratosu replied to Sutoratosu's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Guess I'll use this as a general Update thread until it's ready to launch... well, new development: The majority of enemies you all will be encountering will be biological in nature The Virus will no longer be an issue to players upon venturing beyond Eden... (You'll see what I mean... The shields will still be a concept used, Death will still be a very real threat... just not from the Virus. more will be explained at a later date) -

[OOC/Sign-ups] Surge Story
Sutoratosu replied to Sutoratosu's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Behold! Surge has found a Pikachu! Bask in it's adorableness! Bask, I say! also... I think I made a pretty... interesting story for how they met... XD well... I'm currently out of idea of how to get us from this point to the exposition of Chapter 3 and the War Games... Perhaps I'll have some drama erupt at the messhall during dinner... yes, that will be interesting... afterall, three guys died today (The causaltie rate plummeted because a certain soldier had his Blissey use Heal Bell on everyone who was frozen/ comatose... so only three men died this day. that's pretty damn good considering the threat that was being fought...but it would be even better if there had been no casualties at all) you all can talk in the IC for a while. then I'll get the plot rolling forward.- 1189 replies

SURGE Surge broke through the brush underfoot and found himself finally back at the gates. It had been quite the little trek he'd gone off on, and it seemed he was the last to make it back despite being the first to head out. A small squeak on his shoulder reminded him of the passenger he had picked up along the way. He reached and scratched the yellow furred rodent under the chin, glancing over at it as he walked towards the others. "Pi-piiika" he could hear the electric mouse squeak. He had found this little guy while trekking through the brush in the denser parts of the woods, roasting berries and nuts in it's tiny palms. He had been about to leave it be at first, but the thing had started following him. It took him a while to notice it, a long while actually. about two hours or so. This thing had tracked him like it was it's job or something, through thorn thickets, across a large stream, even up into the more rocky regions of the forest. and all the while it had barely made any sound at all. eventually Surge had started noticing charred patches of grass where ever he went, and had started looking for what had caused it... at which point the creature took the opportunity to leap out of a tree and right onto his head. Surge didn't know for sure, but he had a hunch that it was attracted to his hair for some reason... it was the same shade of yellow, so perhaps the rodent had mistaken it as another member of it's species... specifically, it had apparently thought his hair to be a female of it's kind... yeah... Surge really didn't want to remember that particular chain of events. But after he had managed to get a hold of it and toss it to the ground, it had seemed to realize it's mistake... though for some reason it still followed behind Surge after that instead of running off like a normal animal would've done. he had considered stomping it a few times... still a bit angry that it had tried to hump the back of his head. But the thing was pretty damn good a dodging whenever he tried to get close enough, so that put the kibosh on that idea. he figured he'd just leave it behind after that... but the damn thing was too good at tracking him wherever he went. so eventually he just got fed up and decided to take it with him since it wouldn't scram... on the condition that there would be no more... 'Mix-ups' like they had not long ago. Luckily for the little mouse, it seemed to be able to understand what he was saying perfectly... and maybe even be a bit apologetic and shameful for what had...happened. but he still took care to try to keep it away from the back of his skull. But all and all, it seemed to be behaving well enough.... well, except for the fact that the thing refused to stay inside it's capsule after Surge captured it, hence why it was hitching a ride on his shoulder. He hadn't found anything else out there though... so that was a bit of a downer. "Looks like almost everyone's back," he said to the creature as he approached the Squad members who had arrived back at the gates. ENYO Enyo leaned against a tree, just out of sight of the other Team members at the gate. she rolled the capsule for the sea serpent in her palm, watching silently from the shadows as Surge arrived. Her trip through the woods after running into Erick had been interesting to say the least. not long after, she had found a weird little green lizard eating dirt. The thing had been pretty damn feisty, and that sealed it's fate. it was now in one of the capsules on her belt. later on she had come across a Yellow turtle-looking thing in a red shell. it had resisted every attack that the Sea Serpent could throw at it. another fate sealed. it was now in the other capsule on her belt. so just stood there for a while, curious to see what kind of GAOs the others might have found here...

(Giovani is not a known character in the plot as of yet. and rocket does not exist at this point in time) unfortunately, my friend, I'm afraid that we no longer have any open slots in the story... So I'm afraid That's it's too late to join up... Really sorry bout that. But hey, a slot might open up in the future... no promises, though. For now, why don't you read along with the story?- 1189 replies

In the Subterranean Levels of the Holy Citadel: the Chamber of the Sphere of the Dawn The altar moaned and crumbled as more and more of the Great sphere began to crack and splinter, it's ethereal light spilling into the vast chamber housing it. For nine thousand years, this sphere had stood guard over the world of man. For over nine thousand years, it had been connected with the other Five Spheres, forming a nexus, a matrix, a protective barrier of power to prevent an invasive force from walking the earth in a physical form. For over nine thousand years, It had acted...as a part of the Grand Seal... but now that seal is broken... broken by individuals whom no one would of suspected... but they would still not be suspected...because almost no one was aware of the Crime against humanity that had just been committed. but there had been one man, very, very long ago. The old sage, he had learned of what was at stake. but he was murdered by his own guards before he could ever spread the truth to the world. But now... now it was too late to stop this. The Spirits of the Spheres knew this, but even now, they tried desperately to prevent it, to fulfill their duty, what GOD had created them to do. They communicated with each other, the six of them, all trying to devise ways to preserve themselves and force their foeman back to his prison. But it was futile, oh so damn futile now. this was the end of their time, and they all came to realize this quickly. they realized it with great sorrow. The world... horrible things awaited this world. Things that would mirror what had happened to the world that came before it. Another Alpha & Omega War was going to start. people would die by the hundreds of thousands this time. And the Spirits of the Spheres, the guardians tasked with watching over them were now powerless to prevent it. And so they simply gave in to fate. they accepted what was to come... but not before issuing a single prayer to the only individual in the world who had the power to fulfill it... "Kill him," they cried "The world lies in your hands now. Onto you Tomorrow must be entrusted. onto you... Mankind's fate is entrusted... just as it was long ago... Stratos" and they sent their prayer. their last will and testament. And then the Spheres all began to shatter, one by one. in the order that they were crafted: The Soul of the Dusk cried out as he perished. The City of Black shield, on the border between the Papal State and Crayland, was reduced to nothing but pure darkness in the following blast. Next the Soul of the Earth was silent as he fell to a similar fate. and in the Kings chasm, deep within the lands of Renalim, lit up with a light never before seen in the world. Then The Torrent made a final speech before his own Sphere collapsed upon itself, sending the waves into a frenzy and destroying the Kadrus peninsula entirely. Then the soul of the sun fell... and the city of Lithania burned in a hellish fire the likes of which had never been seen. then the Soul of the Gale perished. and the City of Halsburg in the Zrazara grass sea was engulfed in a monster wind that tore it apart in mere minutes... And then it was time for the Soul of the Dawn to fade. he could feel it happening even now. and he took this moment and reflected on mankind. he reflected on their actions over the ages... on their magick. they had always thought that Lenach came from the Spheres, but they had always been wrong. the spheres gave them no magick. They did, Them, the Six Souls of the world, each tasked to guard a certain element. It had been they who had saved mankind by lending him their power, which took the form of magick like it was never seen before. They saved Humanity during the Nix war, not Azuaqyar. even if that Winged imposter had never descended, The Souls would've intervened when things were at their bleakest point. as they had always done for mankind. As Marcelos himself had told them to do. It was a thankless job. but that had been fine. The greatest heroics were those that never received recognition... Dawn was proud of the Work he and his brethren had done. but now the task of the worlds safety had to pass onto to mankind himself. but it was in good hands... it was in the Sky Slayers hands, and the hands of several others as well... as well as in the hands of the Third Heir. and so it was that assured of the Future, Dawn put up no more resistance, put up no more effort to hold himself together. he sent one final message to the Heir... they had spoken much in the past five years, him always giving the child visions to ready him... but now his time was done. "Run." he called into Aaron's mind silently, as well as Stratos's "Run like you have never before... or you never will again." with that final task done, Dawn then released his barely existent hold on his existence... and the Sphere of the Dawn shattered into millions of shards as a wave of light poured forth from the chamber, filling the Subterranean levels of the citadel and rising to the street level. all that touched it burned into nothingness. In the Papal Alter... (Chimchain, Kenny, Super, Sinbad's Group) Stratos took a step back as a sudden message rang through his skull clear as day. The words that these new arrivals were speaking made no sense to him. The world swam and spun with light and color. He could barely recover before his hair turned to a pitch black and his eyes a vibrant green. then The Sky Slayer collapsed to the Ground and went limb, his body shifting in and out of focus before the eyes of all those present. Boho and Atton were on him in an instant. "Stratos!" Boho yelled, to no avail. the Dragoon was completely unresponsive. he grabbed him by the Lapels and tried to shake him. "STRATOS!!!" several seconds later the Drake Thead finally arrived, his body blazing in a fiery orange glow as he descended, coming in for a harsh landing and Crushing the stones of the Altar beneath his form, nearly some 5 and a half meters tall upon his hind legs. he swatted Boho and Atton Aside with his tail like they were rag-dolls taking care not to use enough force to actually injure them. he reached down and scooped Stratos's unconsicious (And seemingly dead) form in his arms, extending his wings and preparing to take off once more. he took a moment to direct his attention to all those present at the alter, however. "I suggest you run," He spoke into each of the minds of the men, translating his thoughts so that they'd be able to understand them. "This city will be reduced to nothing before long... do not ask questions, if you want to live, go into the desert... run through the Diran gate. and do not touch the Sea of light." with that Cryptic message of Doom spoken, he again took to the skies, carrying his rider in the direction of the Diran Desert. In the distance, a series of pulsating lights could be seen spreading throughout the city... and then all of the men saw what Thead had spoken of when he had said "Sea of Light", surging through the streets was a tidal wave glowing as hot as fire, the white hue nearly blinding. everything it touched began to glow and flake into the air, dissolving into nothing. it was closing in on them very...very...very fast. Boho and Atton looked every person present at the alter in the eye. there was a frightening sense of urgency there. "Grab onto me and don't let go!" they both ordered in unison. In the Tower... (Snap & Murdoc) Eric sat up slowly and swung his legs over the side of the Cot. his head was beginning to clear from the Fog of pain he was in. "Glad to hear it," He said to Octavia "Be a shame if you went and got killed after what I did..." He then glanced over at Matrim. "And who are you, Sir?" "You can get acquainted later," Interrupted Aaron. his voice was so sudden and solemn that everyone stopped to stare at him. "We need to run... it doesn't matter where, but we need to just get away from this city, or we all die tonight." "What's this, all of a sudden?" Samiel asked "Another Vision?" "No, Words this time." the boy said. "Words saying to run for our lives. They've never been wrong about anything before. So I'm not going to hesitate listening to them now." as he spoke, the flecks of gold that had dotted his iris all faded back into green. The streaks of white in Gray running through Samiel's hair faded to a pitch black. neither of them seemed to notice the change. "Then run we shall" interjected Muya. she moved a bookshelf on a nearby wall, sending it sliding several feet out of the way with just a single touch. beyond was a gaping dark passage, one that apparently ran beneath the city wall itself. She turned her attention to Erick and Matrim and Octavia "I suggest you get in there and keep moving. save the questions for later." she said simply... it was more of a command really. Masterweavile898 "Do you have the Girl?" Decate asked Royce, supporting Marshals dead body on his shoulder... they'd have to get him revived later. "Yes," said Royce. He adjusted Amelia's weight on his back, making sure that she wouldn't fall. "What about Samiel and Aaron?" Decate shook his head "There's no time..." he said "not with that...thing coming our way. and I'm sure Aaron will be fine if he's with Samiel." with that said, he cast a wary glance over his shoulder. They had come here trying to see if anything had happened with Marshall and Aaron after the former had failed to return. they'd arrived here to find Marshall dead on the street and this young woman, the same one who had accompanied Aaron to the Library not long ago, unconscious not much farther down the way, on the steps of Samiel's front porch... seemed she was under a Sleep inducement... They had no idea what the hell had gone on here,, but they didn't have much time to think about it anyway, seeing as how there was a tidal wave of pure light heading towards them, destroying everything it touched. "Are you ready?" Decate called. he had to practically shout now that the Surge of Light was getting closer. "Does it matter?" "No..." with that said, they both stared off into the distance, vanishing from sight along with the two they were carrying. The surge charged through where they had been only seconds later, completing the destruction of the West Market district... DERIC "what the hell is that?" Deric asked. in the distance, the City had started lighting up like wild fire... several buildings were beginning to disappear one by one, but from where he and Jez stood just outside the Diran Gate, the cause was not visible. "I...don't know," Jez said "But let's not wait around to find out..." with that he collected his old weapons from the shallow pit he and Deric stood over, an intricately carved staff with the seal of his country upon the head. Deric reached down and took the two sacks lying in the earth, slinging one over his shoulder, the thing jingled with Armaments and gear that hadn't been touched in over five years. he tossed the other to Jez. "What about Marshall and Royce and Decate?" he asked, glancing back at the city beyond the gate every so often... the glow was getting brighter... and much closer. "They will be fine," Said Jezicalo "They managed to stay alive despite all the stunts they've pulled in the past. They won't die so easily as... whatever this is. But we need to go, now." Deric didn't put up any further argument. he knew that Jez was right. it was now or never apparently. the two men began making their trek down the mountain road leading away from the Diran Gate, the dessert looming not far in the distance. when a voice echoed out in the distance... it was Decate's. "Don't you leave us behind, you bastards!" he called Deric glanced back behind them, seeing him and Royce running towards them as fast as they could, Marhsall was propped up on Decate's shoulder and Royce was giving someone a piggy-back ride, as to who it was, they were too far a way to tell. "Hurry up!" Deric ordered, then resumed his brisk pace down the road, his burden jingling silently on his back as he tried to keep up with Jez's pace. over head, a blazing star soared across the black sky, like a scarlet comet... and on the horizon, another tiny, fiery light could be seen... little did Deric know that this second light was the inferno engulfing the City of Lithania.

The sheer amount of lag this would probably cause...would just be horrific in the extreme. Lag was the issue why the option for Animated sprites was removed after EP.9... so I honestly can't see something like X/Y style graphics happening unless some solution to this universal issue is found. It's a cool idea and all, like the Animated Sprites were...but...

Under the Hill - Third Circle: Gluttony
Sutoratosu replied to Notus's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Ethic Withdrew his blade as the Goliath of a being fell before him... Actually... Goliath... that sounded a bit interesting... and everyone knows what David to Goliath's corpse after he had defeated him... a cold grin spread on his face as he held his palm out, His blade again ignited as he walked down the wall and back onto the floor, doing away with the spikes he was projecting from his feet. they had no use now. He eyed the head of the Titan, charging more power into his blade, the Glow intensifying as it again took on a Whip form. Still engulfed in the subconscious relishing of violence within himself, he cast the shining construct through the air, willing it to loop around the Titan's neck in a complete circle. He began to reel back his arm, about to constrict the loop and decapitate the seemingly dead giant... when he stopped mid-motion. The eager glint in his Eyes went away. "Thank God..." he muttered, panting for some reason. "I... managed to stop myself this time... but Christ, was that hard..." He recalled his saber, then looked up at the ceiling... something in the back of his mind had just started nagging him to do it... but for what reason, he didn't know, since nothing was visible except for the darkness above. He looked at Annie from the first time since he'd... entered his little episode. "well..." he said "Maybe it would be a good idea to travel in numbers for now...considering that thing..." ****** Up on the ceiling of the corridor, far too high above Ethic's head to be noticed, stood Maxwell and Lucian. The two men stood upside down, their hair hanging into both their faces, though their clothes somehow remained perfectly in place. "Seems that he has a completely different side to him," said Lucian "though is honestly the first I've seen of it... Back when I was with him, he always fought with a...a reluctance almost. he only did it if he had to in order to defend himself or someone else. I'm not even sure if this is the same Ethic from back in the Gardens..." "Oh, he's the same, alright," Max chuckled silently. "That's the effects of Death on the mind. Turns folks bloodthirsty and eager to fight, turns em into Berserkers most of the time. Though it seems to be coming along in a rather fast pace within Ethic... which is perfect. It just makes it easier for me to sit back and let him take care of those buffoons." this commentary immediately drew Lucian's attention. "How is it that you know so much?" he asked, a bit of suspicion in his voice "I've was on the council before you ever came along, and yet you're always spouting on about things I've never heard of before. What's your source for all of this?" "Aw... starting to lose trust in me, I see." "No, I just want to make sure that everything you say isn't a load of horseshit." Maxwell shook his head as he looked Lucian in the eyes, almost disappointedly "Lucian," he said "That is starting to losing trust in me. But fine... I'll let you in on my sources. Afterall, if one wants to be trusted, one has to trust." "I'm listening..." "there was an Evoker before Ethic came along," Max explained, being rather cryptic about it. "Lets just say... I knew him very well." This response only got a confused scoff from the Magus. "What are you talking about?" he demanded "I remember the Envoker who came before Ethic. He was before your time too. There's no way you could've possibly known him." Max said nothing in response, simply began walking away from the other man, smirking. "Seems that they're completely stupid to what's really been going on..." He thought to himself. "How many men throughout history have been chosen to be Envokers of fate? how many men have built empires and conquered distant lands and carved the world into it's current shaping because the Council directed their attention on them and gave them the tools to form their own destiny? The influence of the Arcana in the World has always been more symbolic than it was tangible... the Things Ethic is capable of now... in this place, hell... not one of his predecessors was able to wield power like he's on the road to gaining... not even myself. all we ever had was the odds constantly staked in our favor. Most of us thought it was because of our own skill, but they were wrong. things were being manipulated in the background to make their success possible... and most of them never had any idea whatsoever. Then I came along... and I wanted to be the master." He directed a glance back at Lucian "He's actually the one that killed me then... And I couldn't fight back...not like Ethic is going to be able to. there was no being able to turn my own life force into a weapon...no being able to manipulate fire... none of these nice little powers existed. All those little luxuries only came into existence when he stepped into this hill. And so those bastards could fuck around with me all they wanted, and I literally couldn't touch them, couldn't do anything but take it. And then the Bastards just went and completely forgot about me when they were done and I was dead and gone... acted as if I had never existed, that they had never chosen me... and eventually the ass holes began to believe it and I faded into the fog of obscurity. But that's alright... it's gonna bite them in the ass soon. They don't even realize that I'm back from the dead, as one of them..." "Payback is a bitch, ain't it... Lucian?" He suddenly called out. The Mage was noticeably caught off guard by his words. "Um...yeah," he replied "I guess..." "Well, you won't have to guess soon..." said Max "No one will have to guess soon..." with that said, Maxwell disappeared into the darkness of the ceiling. Lucian, seeing that their little observation of Ethic was obliviously over, tore open a rift and withdrew himself from the scene. -
PokeNations:The Problem with Lack of Inclusion, Potential Abuse
Sutoratosu replied to Chase's topic in Welcome Center
Pretty much everything Notus just said. I for one tend to take a passive stance and simply place myself on standby when challenges come up, meaning That I don't volunteer myself for combat since I've already gone in the first challenge, and think of it as letting others have a chance to go before I step forward and volunteer to enter the fray again. but even on standby, I still try to stay involved in the nation's business on a regular basis and attend team building and strategy sessions and the like. that's probably the reason why I haven't been called upon to fight since then, because that was actually my intention. That said though, If I am called up to fight during standby, I won't question or refuse it, I'll simply try to serve my nation with my best effort. But enough on that. you've seemed to have spent a lot of time and work on this, and all those reasons that you've put are perfectly valid to be included in this argument, but at this point in PN, I feel that the first reason you put is the most relevant of them all. Especially in Volcanic right now. I do believe that a little while ago, Cow actually compiled a list detailing the in-active members. though I will not flag their names out in the open here. me doing that would only serve to shame the people in question. but just know we have proof that Reason #1 is the prime problem in our particular nation. -
So, I'm reading "Into the Wild" for School, which starts next week... And I honestly kinda think that McCandles was just plain stupid in what he did.

Exactly, pretty much all his supplies that he got, he either bought them or received them from the good will of others (He obtained a LOT of supplies the latter way)
If he had been at least somewhat intelligent in his actions in the wild, and Hadn't died, but had managed to ultimately SURVIVE and prove the point he (I'm talking about McCandles, not the author. those two are trying to prove two different things) was trying to make about how stifling conventional life could b...

He was happier living off the land than conforming to society. When it comes down to it, that's what everyone wants in life; to be happy. Sure he had a painful death, and he could've been sucessful and yada, yada, yada, but according to him he wouldn't have been happy with that life.

Game of Reborn: A Field of Ice and Fire
Sutoratosu replied to Amethyst's topic in News and Announcements
I don't really think the Rivals/ Admins really need a field, given the fact that you really fight them in multiple locations throughout the game, whereareas the Gym leaders are all in fixed locations where you have to face them. so it wouldn't make sense unless for every encounter you had a different field effect for the area. and since there are some places, like Reborn City, don't have assigned field effects yet... so yeah... plus it could start to get annoying. -

alright, looks like enough people are still interested. (A small starting group is actually better for this, so the current number of people on board will work well for the story) I'll tear up the old notes on ISP and the idea and get started putting this one into production. -
[OOC/Sign-ups] Surge Story
Sutoratosu replied to Sutoratosu's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
By the way, for future reference, I never said any of you have to fight fairly in battle. Hell, Erick only does it until it serves him better to use dirtier tactics, like with what happened in his fight with Ray... And surge is so proud! so... you could have a three on one battle in your favor or stuff like that. In war, you do what is needed to win. (But only use dirty tactics on enemies, not each other during sparring matches... again, gotta maintain the whole trust on the team) And relax, Bibs, no need for bad feels. At this point, I'm going to actually make battling Enyo a punishment for people whose characters are getting too cocky and need to be humbled.- 1189 replies
