  1. Snap Crackle Pop "Alright," Eric began "well, Octavia, It was several years ago... The daughter and eldest child of King Mathers of Creylend, Elisia Carting, heir to the Crelish throne, fell deathly ill without warning... nothing that any of the local Apothecary's in the area attempted was able to stem the malady... and so King Mathers sent out a royal decree, any healer who could restore his daughter's health would be rewarded with their weight in Gold and Mythril... my mentor heard of the offer... and so she and I set out to the Hgigasa Highlands..." He pushed off the ledge, landing on the street below beside Octavia, rolling upon landing. he walked up beside the young women, shoulder to shoulder, facing the building behind her as he continued speaking. "We determined... that Foul Magick was involved..." he said solemnly "My mentor... attempted to break the hex she had discovered over her... but... who ever the whore son is who created it made it with a trap in mind for those who tampered with it... my mentor... lost her life." a single tear fell unseen down his cheek, he brought up his hand, wiping it away quickly... he had mourned enough already. "But before the trap killed her, she managed to undo the workings enough to where all that was needed was for someone to finish the job... I did so... long story short, Princess Elisia was cured of her dire ailment... and I was rewarded with my weight in precious metal...." he paused, turning to look Octavia in the eye, his own were darkened and stormy as if with regret and some other dark emotion. "I did not deserve a place in the guild... to be truthful, I still do not. I was only recognized in the first place for an accomplishment that rightfully belonged to my mentor... without her having weakened it, I never would've succeeded in removing that bit of black magick..." just then the scent of wild Mint and Sage wafted through the night air. Eric looked around, recognizing the scent partially from his training as an Apothecary, but mostly from past memories "That... that smell..." he began unsteadily "But... how? it is impossible for either to grow this high up in altitude... in this thin of an atmosphere..." a voice called out just then, "Very good, Eric." it said simply. Eric snapped his attention to the source of it, seeing an elderly woman sitting in a wooden chair on a roof top patio of a nearby home. she looked down at him and Octavia on the street below, smiling warmly as she continued. "But I must make one thing clear, I am very much still alive." Masterweavile898 Aaron turned and answered Milly at a normal volume "You should really calm down," he said "he meant no implication." up on the roof top, Deric shifted a little where he stood, obviously a bit sheepish at how the young woman below had taken his jest just now "Forgive me, Miss," he began, the apology genuine "It was meant only as a jest... Aaron is like a... younger brother to me." he looked down at the two on the street, his face a little red, though in the night air, it would be impossible to see from where Aaron and Milly were "Though, either way, such was highly inappropriate on my part to say something of such suggestions... and so I offer my deepest apologies if you took any offense at all to it" he gave an ever so slight bow, inclining his head and shoulders. Decate stepped forward a bit and whispered to him as he too peered down at Aaron and Amelia. "Ever the White Knight, Aren't you, Deric?" he said jokingly, a slight smirk appearing on his face as he spoke. Deric raised his shoulders out of the bowing motion, whispering in response to the comment yet not looking at Decate as he spoke. "Decate, old friend..." he began "the five of us have no past. we are simply servants of the Carraway household now... and nothing more." K_H after a short stroll through the corridor, the two men finally arrived at the large, wooden door at the other end. Marculo produced a key, sticking it into the knob and turning the handle, only for the door to make a rattling noise and refuse to open as he tried to push in on it. he tried again, looking down at the key as he pushed his shoulder against the wood of the door. "How strange," he began, unsure as to what was wrong with the lock "I'm quite certain this was the correct key..." ((Kenny, it should be simple enough to figure out a way how to get the door open...))

  11. "Who is that?" Ethic looked up upon hearing Rose asking the question, glancing off to where she was looking, and seeing whom she was inquiring about. "I recognize that man..." he began "He distracted the panther back in the library in order to give me and Mr.Taylor time to escape." as he spoke, he couldn't help but have his thoughts drift to how seemingly different the elderly gentleman was mentally now then he had been not too long ago... from a kindly old man to someone who acted as if they were the real world equivalent of Indiana Jones... he had to admit, he was more than a tad bit curious as to the old timers past now; that is, of course, if Mr.Taylor's current persona was indeed based on the person he had been thirty years ago. Ethic pushed the thought train aside after a few minutes, getting back to the current situation. he stared out at the man who was called... actually, now that he thought about it... he'd never learned the guy's name. he watched as this nameless individual slowly picked his way across the bridge to the platform beyond little by little... he decided it was best to simply remain silent, while he didn't know the guy's name, he did know that Minos had said something about him being guilty of murder... Ethic didn't really think the guy would go psychotic on them if he noticed their presence, but this was hell, anything was possible, and he didn't really feel like fighting right now if it came to that. Deciding that prudence was indeed the best course of action, he merely stood there and watched the man as he continued to pick his way across, taking this opportunity to observe and see if there were any obvious traps waiting to be activated by a wrong step.

  19. Articuno Damn these humans... they just wouldn't stop... Articuno could feel it's strength slowly draining away... and then it felt as searing pain erupted across the surface of it's wings as a torrent of fire hit it's mark perfectly, engulfing it's feathers in a hot fire as it felt another hard object slamed into it's chest and several of it's ribs snapping like twigs. in pain, burning, and now severely injured beyond recovery, the fiend fell from the sky like a star, it's pale blue and white feathers glinting in the light of the fire engulfing it's body as the snow storm it had conjured stopped. it hit the ground with a massive crash! where it lay in a heap, flapping about on the thawing earth as the inferno began to consume more and more of it's body. Surge stepped forward out of the bushes, gun raised at the creature as he called out "Fox 1, Stand down!" he yelled as he advanced on the beast with infantry following behind him. Surge looked down at the flareon and simply nodded, and without any commands having to be exchanged, Infantry ran up to the bird and leapt atop it's chest and into the infernal flames billowing there, the GAOs body glowing red as it's fire ability activated. it turned in an about face towards surge, awaiting the kill command. "lose control." he said simply, a moment after wards, Infantry raised it's maw sky ward and let out a far fiercer roar than one would have expected from it, a sphere of spiraling flames erupting from it's glowing body and bursting outward in a wide radius explosion, igniting an inferno that soon engulfed that entire area of the atrium as Surge and all of Fox 1 looked on. the bird was dead. there was no question about it this time. nothing would be able to survive such a merciless barrage. Surge took out another capsule from his fatigue vest pocket. it contained the GAO partner of a soldier who'd been killed in the fight for the side gates. Surge had picked it up after finding it on the ground by his feet whilst walking through the gruesome scene down below. He'd seen the soldier toss it out a few times before, and knew that it had the ability to cause rain fall whenever it was released, which he figured would come in handy to stop this fire from destroying the atrium. he pulled back his arm, pressing the trigger and flinging it up into the air, where it burst in an explosion of white light and released a strange, Green bi-pedal toad like GAO (Politoad) as the sky became dark and a heavy rain began to fall, quickly extinguishing the fire and revealing Infantry, fur soaked and hanging down in wet clumps on it's body, snarling at some strange pink blob like creature that lay in a puddle on the thawed, muddy ground unresponsively. Surge recalled the Politoad into it's capsule, not bothering to give it any commands; not like it would obey him. He then turned and glanced back at the squadron as the rain stopped falling "Fox1..." he began, then turned in an about face, his blonde hair and red beret soaked through, along with the shoulders of his fatigues. a smirk was on his face. "Mission accomplished." ((OOC: You guys can post in here for a while longer to let the action continue to fall from it's climax, but the intermission, along with OSB, will start soon.))
