Articuno Articuno felt as something wet it's chest feathers. it didn't know what it was, but it wasn't painful, and so it simply ignored it.... what it could not ignore, however, is when it felt something slam into it's stomach with electrified force. it let out another screech as it fired a beam of energy towards where it thought the object that had struck it would be, barely missing Viscous as it came back down to the ground to stand next to Sid again. shortly after that bout, it felt another blast of water on it's chest, this one a little more force full, but not enough to where it wouldn't be able to just brush it off... then something hard slamed into it's cheek, Shadow Cawed as he went in for another strike, only for Articuno's own wing to glow a pale white and swing up and knock him clear out of the sky, sending him unconscious and tumbling down to the ground by Lionel's feet. the black bird was still seemingly alive dispite the fall, but it was obvious from looking at it's broken form on the icy ground that it would need some serious medical attention to prevent it's condition from taking a turn for the worst. the attacks seemed to just keep coming and coming, because the next thing the blinded avian felt was another weak blast of electricity hit it's cheek, again paralyzing the muscles there and temporarily preventing it from being able to open it's mouth and fire off another beam...

The Awakened - First Pillar (IC Thread)
Sutoratosu replied to Flux's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
The door swung open slowly, revealing a medium sized room with another table in it and a staircase.... but a few feet away from the stairs was the object Anver had been looking for; a refrigerator. he walked over, opening the door and peering inside the freezer portion. now If I can just find a damn stove... he thought to himself as he pulled out a carton milk and of eggs and a container of ham and some shredded cheese. he closed the door, placing the food on the table and glancing around, seeing nothing else in the room besides a small sink basin and a few pots and pans and plates. "Wait..." he began "I can control the temperature... I don't need a stove." It wa true... he could just raise the foods temperatures to the point where they would be thoroughly cooked. he got up from the table, picking up a clean looking skillet from near the sink, he returned and poured some milk into it, then opened the egg carton, picking out several of the white ovals and cracking them on the rim of the pan, spilling their contents into the cookware in front of him as a pale yellow mixture began to appear as Anver began to heat different layers of the substance, resulting in a make shift tide sort of effect that mixed the eggs and milk together on their own, saving him the trouble of having to stir it himself, seeing as how he didn't know where or even if there was any silverware here. he next opened the container of ham and tore up a few slices, tossing the pieces into the uncooked omelet and watching as they too became caught in the circular tide motion as he opened the shredded cheese and sprinkled a hand full or two in, the tide stopping as he did so. with the preparation done, he stuck his finger into the raw omelet, and began to heat it up, using conduction the spread the thermal energy all throughout the mixture and cook it from the inside out. within a few minutes, it was fit for consumption. Anver got up and went back to the sleeping quarters, rummaging through his bag which still lay on the bed, producing a pocket knife and walking back into the kitchen area. he sat back down, flipping open the knife's blade and cutting the omelet into small strips, picking them up with his hands and eating them. How far I have fallen... Anver thought to himself as he ate, then quickly pushing the thought out of his head; he didn't exactly have the best time growing up a a kid in the hoods of Manhattan; the only reason he had ever gotten to the point where he could enjoy the luxuries of the upper class was because he'd been smart enough to take the advice of the adults around him and focused his time on studying and school instead of gang banging and getting involved in the local turf wars on the block... but even though that now he was no longer able to enjoy the luxuries his endeavoring had earned him, his rather impoverished experiences from back then prevented him from bitching and moaning about it. having finished his breakfast, he got up and put the skillet in the small sink basin, turning the water on and beginning to lather up a rag with dish detergent. "Well" he said absentmindedly to himself as he began washing the skillet "Might as well see if there's anything out here after I'm done..." -
Ermagerd... you know what time it is? It's Phoenix Sweep Time! this is a Strategy I call "Phoenix Sweep". It's effective if your team is a bit underlevel, or you want to evolve something (Though, the pokemon in question should have decent defenses to survive combat) I suggest spending all your cash on medicinal items before starting though, as one of the key points of this is to lose... Repeatedly, And it would be a shame if you lost all your cash during this process because you didn't invest wisely... Anyway, here is a basic rundown Before the major battle (I used this strategy to eventually beat Corey after three or four tries), Switch the lead of your party with the pokemon you intend to level up/evolve. (Again, should have decent defenses, as things could go bad and it may be forced to fight it's way out of the battle) Initiate the major battle After your lead is thrown in (Pokemon to be leveled) Switch it out with a stronger pokemon (Ex. For Corey, I sent in my level27 Teddiursa against his Trubish, then switched Teddiursa out immediately for Braxien) Use said stronger pokemon that has been chosen to defeat the Foe. When prompted, send out the intended leveler again, repeat steps 3-5 as nessacary, throwing in other members of the party when strategically valuable (Ex. I sent in Pidgeotto to lower his Skunktank's Attack with Feather dance, lowering it's massive attack stat and making it safer for other's to come in and finish it off. Pidgeotto fainted in the process, but it's like I said before, lossing is key) Eventually, you'll be brought to your last stand if you aren't strong enough to finish the fight in your favor. You'll lose. Don't get discouraged, You barely lost any cash because you didn't have any if you followed my advice on buyig medicine. (Note: For steps 1-6, it is vital that you lose little to none healing products, as those should be saved for the real fight.) Get back in there and rematch. Lose again, but you still come out of the fight with some levels gained if you played your cards right. Keep on persevering until you feel your strong enough to stop this charade and actually fight seriously. (By the time I finished with this technique on Corey, Braxien, Emolga, And Teddiursa had gone up by about 3-4 levels, and Teddiursa evolved into urasing. We went in there and Crushed corey in five minutes the next time we fought him.) This should work just fine against any other leader/ Boss battle, some notes though: since corey specialized in poison, I made sure that my ace (The one who was getting swaped in to handle the Foe.) had a good pyschic type move (Braxien had Psybeam, and actually learned psyshock thru gaining levels in the fight) Making taking the Enemy out much easier (Type effectivness is also quite important) Seeing as how Aya also specilizes in Poison, I suggest you get something that knows Either Psychic or Ground moves (Psychic is better, seeing as how her team is rather bulky and will better withstand Physical moves, as most Ground moves are) Teddiursa got a big boost in power after evolving to urasing, which was my cue to crush the enemy at last. As I said before, use the rest of your party as well, don't let them sit there. sent them out when they have moves that prove useful in a certain situation. If they faint, Good then. It will free up a share of the Exp for the others battling. It's called phoenix sweep because you will fail time and time again, but eventually rise up from your ashes more powerful and wiser to the opposing side than you were when you started. I have used this in the past the defeat Corey and Samson (Though my victory against the latter was by accident...) try this out, see if it works for you PS. Level up that Braxien a little, it'll learn the move Psyshock in a bit, which is much more useful against Corey.

Masterweavile898 Aaron called up to Deric as he and Amelia got closer to the library "Deric!" he yelled "What's going on!?" Deric scanned the streets, unable to see where the voice had come from, he knew it was Aarons. his eye's finally fell upon the young man down below on a nearby street, followed by a stranger who appeared to be another young man... at first Deric's protectiveness kicked in immediately and he nearly ordered Aaron to get away from the stranger, but he stopped himself before the words could come issue forth, noticing how Aaron and this stranger were walking side by side, at the same pace. whoever this person was, it was unlikely they we're a common mugger stalking another victim. "We almost caught Lupai." Deric called down as he handed his blade to Decate nearby, who took it silently as he then proceded to remove his sword's scabbard, holding it upside down above his palm and shaking it as something shiny fell out. "He managed to get away at the last minute, though..." Deric tossed the shiny object in his hand to Aaron down below as he spoke, the boy reached out his hand, catching the object smoothly and bringing it up to examine with his eyes, which opened wide in surprise as soon as he recognized it. "this..." he began, a bit uncertainly "This is the Talisman I just finished working on..." Deric took his sword back from Decate after he refastened the scabbard onto his hip, sliding the blade in with a silent Click! "It is." he said simply, another breeze picking up and rippling his hair and clothes "Lupai somehow stole it from you earlier today." Deric then changed the focus of the conversation... he'd given enough mention to his brother. "Whose your friend?" he asked, eyeing Amelia down below, and now that the two were a bit closer, he realized from her gait and the way she carried her shoulders when she walked that she was probably a women. "Or, should I say, Your lady friend?" a slight smirk appeared on his face as he asked the question. Snap Crackle Pop Eric walked over to the ledge and took a seat there, his legs dangling out in the night air as he answered Octavia. "I have a certain enchantment on it..." he said simply "It allows me to mentally track where ever my journal goes." a slight smile broke onto his face as he looked up at the sky "And I've got another on it that'll stop anyone but myself or those I trust enough to give permission to from reading it's contents..." he leveled his gaze back on Octavia, his emerald green eye's glinting in the light of the moon "You know..." he began haltingly "I wouldn't have any issues telling you how I caught the attention of the Guild, If you still want to hear it." ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Shortly after Gideon left the library and the door closed behind him, a bolt of electricity slammed into it, leaving a large blast mark on the mahogany surface. Cesealia lowered her outstretched palm, the electricity there slowly dissipating as she walked out from behind the counter... that little desert rat's last comments had sent her completely over the edge, he was lucky the door closed behind him when it did, because she had fired that bolt of lightning with every intention of killing him. she leaned on the counter, taking a deep breath and trying to calm her boiling rage, with little success. Nix fucking Dirossi vagrants... she thought to herself 'When your logic, laws, and knowledge fail to speak'... please... she glanced over angrily at the door, her eye's stormy and forboding I'd be surprised if that Desert Rat would even know how to fucking read the tombs if I'd given him the materials he was requesting... she decided it right then and there... She would probably kill this 'Gideon' if she ever saw his face again... the sheer amount of disrespect he'd shown not only her, but also the entire office of law she served and even God himself... simply disgusting. there'd be no forgiving it on her part... and the best part was that she would probably get away with it... she could always simply say it was self-defense or that she was acting to protect the life of an innocent... she was a magistrate afterall, if she said that, and the scene provided sufficient evidence to make it apparent, then no one would question her word... it was while pondering her dark thoughts that a voice called out to her from nearby "Now now, deary, do not let your heart become tainted with thoughts of committing evil... for darkness only begets further darkness; murder begets murder." Cesealia sprang up from the counter, realizing the voice was coming from right behind her. she turned quickly, seeing a kindly old woman sitting in the high backed chair. "H...how..." she began, stuttering a little... "How did you get in here without my noticing!?" the elderly woman simply grinned warmly. "You anger clouded your mind," she began "But even still, you would never have been able to sense my arrival here, for doors and floors are not my method." the scent of wild sage and mint wafted through the air, and Cesealia found that her anger was now completely gone, replaced by a strange sort of... calm. "I...Who are you?" she asked simply, stepping up to the counter. the old women continued smiling warmly "Now that," she said "is a matter for another time, Cesealia." Cesealia took a step back, surprised as to how this elderly woman could possibly know her name. a moment later, she was gone, the smell of wild herbs still hanging in the air. the highbacked chair was now vacant... but her disappearance was not the strangest thing... the seat's cushion had no depression in it as it should've... it was as if no one had been sitting there at all.

^ http://science.howstuffworks.com/life/fear.htm a site explaining how fear works in the human body and what not to help with research if you want. --------------------------------------------- well... might as well share some thought's on Anver's ability... I've figured that the main way I'm going to have him work his ability is that he manipulates the Thermal energy of the air around him or his intended targets, though also have it so that he can manipulate the thermal energy of most liquids with as much ease as he can gases. I've split his ability up into two categories: Convective heat transfer, which is for the most part, indirect on his part and serves as a ranged option in combat for him, and what he uses for Liquids and Gases: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Convective_heat_transfer and Thermal conduction, which is direct on his part and serves as a close ranged option in combat, what he uses to directly transfer heat he generates onto solid, physical objects without having to use liquids or the air as a medium for it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conduction_(heat) Now... theoretically I suppose it would be possible for him to use CHT to heat the liquids in a person's circulatory system, or even to super heat the gases in their lungs and cause death that way... though, for the former I've decided to have it so that something about the chemistry of human blood prevents him from being able to heat it efficiently, taking that option away for the most part... and for the Latter I plan to have him mostly refrain from that due to his personality and basic empathy keeping him from considering exercising such an awful method of death as causing a person to feel as though they burning from the inside out in their chest... so that really won't be deployed unless he is left with no choice but to do it. that leaves tossing blast of superheated/ superfrigid air at targets as his main combat option (how he does it is he heats up a pocket of the air then uses the whole "Warm air Rises" principle to move it towards his target, with the air mass bouncing back and forth as it rises above the colder air and then is sent back down again by anver heating the air directly above it to a higher temperature, and so on and so forth until it hits, which results in the air mass having a somewhat zigzagging path before as it closes in on it's mark. which is why it would take more concentration to send a blast of thermally manipulated air over longer distances, because it is a somewhat complicated process.) I think it reasonable that he can raise things to their Flash points (the temperature at which they catch fire: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flash_point) with either method fairly easily, though he tries not to do so due to the fact that in most situations, a fire would be far more trouble than help. as for the non-combat active related aspects of his ability, I figured it would be reasonable for him to be unaffected by fire, as he can control the temperature of the air and weaken the heat, but to still be susceptible to Smoke inhalation if he doesn't act to stop the fire quick enough (EX. he wakes up one day and his sleeping place is engulfed in an inferno and has been for several minutes before he awoke). the immunity to hot and cold is pretty self explanatory. as for the limits as to how far he can go: for heating things, his bodily limit is the same temperature at which the element of Tungsten begins to melt: 3410 degrees Celsius, or 6170 degrees Fahrenheit. as for cooling things, his limit is approximately -265 degrees Celsius, or -445 degrees Fahrenheit, which places it at a few degrees above absoulte zero, which is -273.15 C or -459.67 F. -
Articuno The bird was trying the find where that torrent of fire had come from, when another arc of electricty hit the side of it's face, this time right on the eyelid. it let out a harrowing screech as it snap it's eye shut quickly, feeling a searing, tingling pain there... then it let out another screech as several small objects hit it's other eye, forcing it to snap it shut as well as a similar pain erupted there. now blind and in a rage, it flew through the air aimlessly, screeching like a banshee and haphazardly unleashing bolts of blue energy from it's maw which hit random spots on the ground below and caused layers of ice to form where they hit their mark... it felt something trying to probe it's mind, but in it's furious state, the presence was easily cast out...

how about you keep it confined to being the more scientific theory, and have it so that if Cassidy somehow learns a person's greatest fear/ personal doubt (EX. like her overhearing a conversation or the like...), she can incorporate it into the vision and exploit it that way... I personally don't think it would be even the least bit OK for someone to go probing around in the memories of other characters, trying to discover their fears that way, without that player's specified consent -
Articuno... Flapped it's massive wings hard, shooting upward into the sky and avoiding the Rock snake's attack by a few meters... though the attack had been enough to distract it for a few moments, and the thick frost that had been moving towards the group now retreated as the temperature began to rise a little down below. the bird opened it's mouth, a sphere of pale blue light forming there... but it's focus was again stolen as a bolt of electricity struck the side of it's face, stunning the muscles there and leaving it unable to close it's mouth for a few moments... it stared down angrily at where the bolt had come from, and began to flap it's wings, a small funnel of air forming in front of it, growing into a twister and quickly winding it's way down towards Erick and Logan... ------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------ Erick called out to Virtue as the Twister approached, drawing nearer and nearer with each second. "Get a barrier up in front of us!" he ordered. Virtue's eye's blazed scarlet as the air began to ripple and took on a light violet hue in a spherical shape, surrounding Erick, Logan, and the General as the Twister closed in and collided against the surface of it, a sharp whistling sound could be heard as several small shrubs nearby were torn out of the ground and pulled into the funnel... along with a cracking sound. Erick looked up to see that the Barrier was beginning to fail, hairline cracks appearing in it's surface and beginning to spread gradually... then the Twister dissapated and the cracks stopped spreading as from some where nearby, a torrent of hot flames shot up from the ground and up towards Articuno, who managed to move out of the way of the attack, but had to shift it's concentration from attacking to evading, resulting in it not being able to sustain the twister. Erick called out more commands as the barrier faded away. "Another Electric attack!" he called, his Beldum obeying and again starting to rotate, a familiar rrrrrrrr.... sound being heard as it picked up speed and began glowing in a faint yellow hue.

Under the Hill - Second Circle: Lust
Sutoratosu replied to Notus's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
A glint nearby caught Ethic's eye as he stared up at the scarlet moon in Scott's place of death. he looked over to the stone effigy, seeing that it was now in a completely different position than before, it's sword was now hanging down by it's side lazily, as if it no longer was eager to fight the first person who so much as looked at it funny. it's facial expression was completely changed as well, the arrogant, infuriating look from before had been replaced by one of solemnity and a bit of sadness... it's empty, grey eyes were peering down at it's feet. but by far, the biggest change was what it's arm... which was now outstretched, the palm facing upwards, holding in it a small sphere with a multi-colored aurora blazing shifting inside of it as if it were alive. the light of the orb had been what had caught Ethic's eye. he stared down at it, puzzled by what it was supposed to mean. he looked up at the statue... and did something he had a first thought of as crazy but decided to try anyway... He Talked to it. "Are... are you..." he began, unsure of himself as he continued "Giving this... to me?" he leap back a few feet as he thought he actually saw the statue... nod... he forced himself to snap out of the surprise and crept forward a little bit, the statue raised it's palm a little to him as he did so... what ever the hell it was, this effigy was definitely moving on it's own... and it proved this simple fact even more by lifting it's gaze to meet Ethic's. it held out it's arm a little more insistently. Ethic reached his own hand out, about to accept the sphere, when he paused. "This wouldn't have something to do with what I said about you all were people too," he asked "Would it?" the Statue seemed hesitant, then nodded it's head slowly, pressing the sphere into Ethic's own hand, then drawing it's hand away, letting it fall slowly to it's side. Ethic stared at the object, it felt smooth, as if it were made of glass... there was a gentle warmth to it... he tossed it into the air a little a couple of times, feeling how it seemed to weigh almost nothing, then stopped, scolding himself for not being more respectful of an object that obviously had some significant importance. he looked at the statue, which now stood silently, arms by it's side, eyes grey and empty. "What is this?" he asked simply, to which their was no reply from the Effigy. and so the two of them merely stood there; the man of flesh and the man of stone, locked in a strangely solemn starring match as the silence following Ethic's question dragged on monotonously... until Ethic began to feel a familiar tugging feeling within him, just like the last few times, first outwards, then transitioning inwards towards himself. he knew from past experience that this meant he would be out of here in a few seconds. he looked up a he felt his body beginning to rise higher and higher, his vision eventually fading in the nothing. ------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------ Lucian sprang up, startled as the Eye's of Ethic's seemingly dead body suddenly and it gasped for air. "Little bit of warning next time would be appreciated, my friend..." he said simply as he watched as Ethic looked around from where he sat in-front of the small fountain, glancing at the group, then gazing up at Lucian himself. "What's that?" Lucian asked nodding his head towards something in Ethic's hand. he stared down to where Lucian was looking... and saw that in his upturned palm, was the Sphere that Scott's Effigy had given him. "I wish I knew..." Ethic replied as he unsteadily rose to his feet, hoisting his bag on his shoulders as he stared down into the orb... there had to be some use for it... some reason why the statue had been so determined to make sure he took it. he returned his attention to Lucian as he glanced over at the group... seeing some type of conversation going on... he didn't see byron any where, but he did spot kenny... whose entire body was engulfed in fire for some reason. Panicking and forgetting what he was about the say to Lucian, he ran over to his friend. "Kenny!" he called out, stowing the sphere in his pocket and taking off the black Fatigue Jacket Maxwell had sold him and began beating the fire out gradually with it... feeling a strange sense of urgency in his mind as he did so, the fire quickly dying out as Ethic picked up the pace, smothering it completely. Why... why was I so afraid when I saw him burning? he thought to himself as he looked down at the jacket, which seemed to be alright for the most part. but it was a valid question... sure, he didn't want to just stand by and watch as his friend died... but there was something about how he'd silently paniced in the back of his mind... how he'd nearly gone over the edge for a minute as he had been rushing over to help... then he looked down at Kenny, who still lay unconscious on the ground, the memory of seeing him burning a few moments ago flashing through Ethic's mind... and then he remembered how he himself had burned in hell fire a few hours ago... how awful it had been... how painful. he took a few tentative steps back, lost in the memory of the black fire for a few moments. he knew why he'd gotten so panicked now. he could feel a cold sweat on his brow... why had he been sweating? it wasn't that hot here, even when he was near the fire... the run over to save kenny hadn't been that far either... his stomach felt like it was in a knot...his mouth was dry for some reason... he found he was breathing a little heavier than he should've been, that he was having a hard time catching his breath. It must have something to do... with the fire... he thought to himself as even more of a sweat broke out on his brow from remembering the scene. he began putting his jacket back on, Kenny now safe from burning to death, and looked at the others silently, a solemn look on his face as he spotted the bridge up ahead of them, and the large building beyond that. this was indeed the top level of the garden... -

Articuno... This... was getting to be harder and harder... these humans were too persistent... and it was becoming obvious that they may be too powerful as well. It couldn't even try to rest and recover some strength... not with the searing, throbbing pain in both it's legs... landing was completely out of the question... which meant flying was the only option. Perhaps it would not be able to fulfill it's mission...to do as it's master ordered it to. but there was still a chance... this man who had attacked it seemed to be the head honcho around this place... perhaps if it could kill him, then the others would fall soon after from lack of leadership- It's reasoning was cut off as it felt a tremendous force slam into it head first, knocking Articuno off course and sending it crashing into the frosted ground, kicking up stones and dirt and plants as it skidded to a halt, leaving a shallow scar in the permafrost. it tried to get itself back up again... it had to get up again... it would not allow itself to fail, but even with this being true, it's broken legs were of no help in this endeavor. left with no choice, it tried to begin buffeting it's wings violently, trying to get some lift in order to take off again, only to be slamed back down into the earth as an intense blast of fire found it's mark on the back of the Ice Bird's neck, and several more on it's wings and back... this was it... and Articuno knew it... it couldn't move it's body... everywhere was racked with pain. his vision, which was better than any hawk, was now blurry, it's breathing was sporadic at best, and there was a sharp pain in it's abdomen every time it took a breath. there was no denying it, this was indeed the end. there was nothing more it could do to try and further it's objective... and so the bird simply stopped trying, and lay there, seemingly resigning itself to the death blow it knew would be coming soon... or... was it? ------------------------------------- ------------------------------------- McCarthy got back up to his feet as his Dragonite did as it had been ordered and not only met Articuno's attack head on with it's own, but had even managed to overpower it and send it crashing to the ground, followed by his Magmar's attack hitting it's mark perfectly. Weapon, at the ready, he approached the bird cuatiously, knowing that it could just be a feint intended to draw him in. He stood over the fallen beast, staring into it's large, cold blue eyes as it stared up into his own. he glanced around at the area as he moved his finger to the trigger, ready to fire when nesacary, seeing that his Dragonite was lying on the ground unconscious nearby, severely wounded from it's head on collision. without a word, he took out the capsule and withdrew it in a ray of scarlet hued light. taking another step forward, he leveled the barrel of his gun with the bird's eye. the time to end this was now. A blur of blue and white feathers burst into his periphery vision out of nowhere before he could pull the trigger, and he felt as something slammed into him and sent him flying back onto the frozen ground several feet away, where he then slid across the earth and came to a halt as he felt the back of his skull knock into something cold and hard, his vision and conscious fading a few seconds later as the sound of beating wings echoed all throughout the atrium. ----------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------- Articuno... Scanned the area of the Atrium as it managed to get a large another bout of updraft going in order to take off, spying the General on the frozen ground next to a fountain, blood beginning to trickle from where his head lay against the stones. it turned it's attention to the two plumes of smoke that were billowing up not far from there, working it's wings into a fury as it conjured up a feirce gust and blew them clear, revealing the soldiers taking cover in the bushes. the tables had turned... with the lead gone, they would surely fall into disorganization and die from a well placed assualt... acting to make that theory a reality, the bird's body began to charge with a plae blue light as the air in the atrium began to gradually drop lower and lower, a layer of thick frost was beginning to form on the various plants around where the two teams were, rushing inwards towards them fast... ------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------ Erick looked over from his perch behind the fountain as he heard a skidding sound and then a quiet thump! as the General lay there unconscious, blood was beginning to trickle from a cut on the back of his head. Shit... Erick thought to himself as he crept out from where he was to check the cut to see how bad it was... finding that the entire back of the general's head was a shiny scarlet... he knew this was more than the basic med training they'd all been given during training would cover... but then he remembered the medic on the team... "Logan!" he called out "The General's down!" Logan Logan looked over at Erick as he heard him call his name, seeing the other young man kneeling over the general, whom was sprawled out on the stones, with blood begining to form a tiny pool beneath his head. he rushed over as quick as he could while making sure to remain crouched. "Give me some room." he said simply to Erick as he took out some medical supplies from his bag and began attending to the general's head injury, applying pressure first to try and stem the bleeding as Erick stepped back and ordered his beldum to use an electric attack, the thing beginning to rotate faster and faster as a rrrrrrrrrrrrr.... sound echoed forth from it, it's cylindrical body taking on a golden yellow hue and an arc of static electricity bursting out and tearing through the air right towards Articuno... ((You all can get to attacking now...))

I wonder... do the amount of $R that we recieve from our posting in the forums increase in direct variation with the length of the post we make?

I read somewhere that it's based on what section you post in. For example the RP section likely gives less $R per post than in other places due to the frequency of posts per person in each thread.

a word of caution about the Nature resetting thing though; When you get the opportunity to change it with the help of the The nature that you will get will be completely random: IE save before you do, so that you can just soft reset till you get the one you want

I would say Adam because of his nature... but with the fact that ralf's IVs are a bit better, and he has a more useful abillity, Magic Guard: http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Magic_Guard I'd say go with him over the other two (I'm talking about the one called Ralf) Generally Nature tend to be a little bit less important than the EVs and IVs in battle, due to the fact that the EVs and IVs have a huge direct affect on the pokemons stats... so just go with Ralf since he has a better balance and superior ability hope I helped

[OOC/Sign-ups] Surge Story
Sutoratosu replied to Sutoratosu's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
an announcement is following these words... Surge Story Announcement: I am hereby announcing that Operation Surge Builder has been launched. I'm gonna go ahead and say it right now, This RP did not receive the proper world building and consideration that it deserves when it was created... if you all read the second Interest check for my other RP: Project Sky Slayer, then you'd know that this was started in a sense, with a jump the gun method. what this basically means for this RP, is that immediately after the battle with Articuno is resolved, I will be placing this on temporary hold for the sake of integrity and being able to call it a quality story. you may have noticed that the plot so far has felt a bit... unsubstanced, or lacking in feeling of genuine depth... that some of the things that occur may be a bit reeking of spur of the moment, with little fore thought. I have as well. and when I realized this I knew I had two options as the host: A. dissolve the RP completely or B. declare an intermission period for proper world building and story structuring. to me, Option A was not an option. and so I have decided to pursue option B. I would like to personaly take a moment to say to each and every one of you participating in this RP: Flux, K_H, Murdoc, Pineapple, Jory, Typhlosion, Chimchain (Who is currently absent), Maddie (Whom I have no idea what's going on or where she is), and last but certainly not the least, Supernovae. That I am sorry for the poor quality of thought and depth that I have put into this RP. as a Host, I will not allow myself to continue on with such mediocrity on my part, nor will I ever, such is personally unacceptable for me. I have two priorities when I host for RPs: 1. to make an enjoyable experience for all my players 2. to make sure the story grows and develops alongside those participating in it, and that it ultimately reaches it's conclusion smoothly for both of these reasons is why I have made this decision. both for my duty as a host to all of you, and to myself. in closing, here is what this intermission means for this RP: - The Intermission will not take active place until the current final stage of the Articuno boss battle is resolved, meaning that it is defeated, at such time I will officaily place the IC on complete hold, however, the OCC will still be open for activity and discussion. - All of the current rules will for the most part remain the same, as well as most NPCs backstories and profiles, however certain details may be tweaked a little - the guidelines on legendaries may or may not be altered following this - the formatting of Host updates in the IC will most likely drastically change - The OP of this thread will likely be reorganized and reformatted I would also like to apologize for any inconveniences this may cause. Have a nice day.- 1189 replies

The Awakened - First Pillar (IC Thread)
Sutoratosu replied to Flux's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Anver stood in what was apparently the front door of the cabin, looking out at the trail leading down to the road below. the bastards left me here... he thought to himself as he walked out of the cabin and down the dirt trail, stopping when he got to the road. like this is some sort of Exile... though, not like I could really consider running away if they hadn't done this... they'd still have my family as leverage... he glanced up and down the road, not seeing anything but trees and asphalt and grass and dirt... no other signs of civilization... knowing that there was a good chance his theory that they'd gotten back in their car and had left him here after talking last night was more than likely true, he turned back to the cabin, making his way back up the trail as he took a burner phone out of his pocket, the same one that had fallen out last night while he was taking inventory of his supplies... it was one of the more higher end models of burner phones, equip with a touch screen and camera, but was powered by disposable batteries. he hit the call button on the screen, bringing up the keypad on the phone. he tapped in Alan's mobile number, holding the phone up to his ear as it began ringing. by the time he got back to the cabin's door a few minutes later, it was still ringing, then finally an electronic voice sounded from the phone's ear piece: "No service available" Cursing silently under his breath, he powered the burner off, stowing it back in his blazer pocket as he re-entered the Cabin, staring around at the room with the table... there were still a few other doors to try... it only made sense that there should be a kitchen or some type of food storage here... as far away as it was from civilization, it would be highly impractical for there not to be one. he walked over to another door, this one opposite the front door, and turned the knob, pushing in on it. ((Flux, Just let me know if you just want me to continue off in the cabin on my own and I'll edit more into this)) -
Snap Crackle Pop The golden scythe blade flew through the air after Octavia tossed it, clattering to the roof of the Library beside Eric's feet. he reached down and picked it up by the retracted handle on the back of the blade, pulling something off the back of his belt; a sheath made of leather and hide, and slide the blade into it, reattaching the thing to his waist, where it now hung in front of his left pants thigh. his black hair and black and gold Apothecary guild uniform rippling in the wind as he looked down at the young women on the street... "I guess I should... apologize for the way I treated you following the robbery..." he began "I am sorry for losing my... composure and being curt with you, miss." Typhlosionrulez Cesealia simply glared hatefully at Gideon as the arrogant young bastard didn't leave, but instead actually walked over at leaned on the nearby study counter. "You won't be able to see the resurrection from here..." she said, her voice seemingly apathetic now "So it really makes no sense for you to stay here. the holy grounds are just across a few dozen meters away from here, you'd have an actual viewing opportunity there." her eyes took on a yellow hue as the chair on the floor shot back upright and positioned itself beneath her as she sat back down in it, taking her hand away from the fusil but still rubbing her temple in irritation. she wanted this man gone, and she wanted him gone now. "I suggest you get going, now, if you're interested in the ceremony... " she continued, trying to convince him to get out while she reached down and removed the gauntlet from her right arm, placing it on the desk next to her fusil and flexing her fingers, as if checking to see if they still worked. "there's barely ten or so minutes before it starts... if you leave now you might be able to find a good perch to watch from." as she spoke, her now bare fore arm and hand began to glow with an electric white energy, a similar, albeit fainter, hue was in her eyes as well... a few seconds later, her palm was alive and crackling with a small sphere of pure white lightning that rotated slowly in the air as she focused on the Aria of the Dawn, maintaining the thing easily... if this man did not leave, and soon, then she would force him to leave with Lenach... and he would probably not survive the latter if he had any metal on his body... ((Cesealia's done playing around. it's best to just take the advice and go to the holy grounds. if you try to stay, I will not have any qualms about her severely injuring Gideon (He won't be killed, but it will not be pleasent for him for the few minutes that the wounds would last before being restored by...no spoilers))) Masterweavile898 Aaron continued to gaze up at Deric and his entourage as Milly spoke. he glanced back at her "the name of the theif who broke into my Mentor, Samiel's, home in the early hours of this morning was named Lupai, not loopy." he said, returning his attention to the roof top, willing his chair to move forward down the street, making sure to go slow enough so that Amelia wouldn't have to walk very fast to keep up, he was fairly confident in his ability to heal, but he figured he might as well give her a break encase the job wasn't fully done and some unseeable internal trace of the hobbling gash still remained "the four men up there with Deric were all sent to hunt him down and recover what he took... I'm guessing that they did just that."

all this is making me realized that I never have taken the time to actually sit down and do some proper world planning for PW;Surge Story no real in depth history leading up to the events of the story except for a single global disaster... no time line before two or three decades prior to the plot... no thought as to the countries of the world are relating with one another, whom are allies, and whom are on bitter terms with each other... then theres the plague arc of the events before the story's opening... never really thought out in depth or accurately even explain how the army drafted new protocols to deal with the threat of Morpher virus and those infected... never expalined how most major cities had some type of barriers constructed on thier outskirts with checkpoints as the only ways in and out... never explained as to how the fighting between the military and Pokemon took place... all in all, I've been skipping out on explaining how modern day society and the world as a whole has been drastically changed due to events... how things are currently in the world. I'm glad this topic was made... It's opened my eyes to the fact that I need to go back and do all of this immediately in surge story. time for some serious revamping.

well, I personally prefer using the mapping method because I am somewhat of a analyzer, and also for a lot of the reasons Ark discussed above. personally, having a basic layout in a visual form allows me to: A. Not have to hold so many details regarding the setting itself in my head, which in turn frees up mental space for plot details. B. Mapping out areas makes it so that the work load in terms of post word count are lightened on me as a host, and frees me to focus my efforts on things in the story that are of a far higher priority, that is, interaction between story generated characters and Player Characters, instead of rambling on for a good two or three paragraphs in which I try (And have mixed success) trying to describe what the area looks like. those two or three paragraphs that would've probably been wasted can be used instead for character interactions and improving the overall feeling of story depth and the enhancing of the experience of my players. for example, in project sky slayer, after the thought came to my head and I started to work on it in depth, the very first task I did was to draft out the world map. then I zoomed in on the largest land mass, the continent rojamaris, and began to devide it up along geographic regions, plotting mountain ranges, deserts, plains, wet lands, piedmonts, and arctic tundras. and after that was done, i did not allow myself to stop, I went further into the world and devidided the continent along cultural regions next, which for the most part followed the same divisions as the lines of geography did, as the various cultures of the world would've been mostly shaped by their surrounding natural environment, almost every aspect of them, what clothing they typically wear there, what type of weaponry is typically relied on for protection, the common physical features, such as darker toned skin in the Diran Dessert and Lighter toned skin in the Zrazara, what the common practices are, how people interact with their neighbors and family. all of it, determined and heavily influenced by what challenges faced them there in the environment they lived in, and how they ultimately adapted to survive and even prosper in the area. Another example from P.S.S. being the map of the City of Cithalos, I drafted the city boundaries, or the outer walls and the gates leading out to the world beyond, then gradually began plotting buildings in a half random- half planned manner, plopping down major structure such as the Citadel and the Library. then I split it into districts depending on what function that area of the city served, such as market places or residential areas, or centers of learning and scientific study such as Alchemy of Botanism. doing all this not only gave myself as the creator of the story a good, well laid out visual platform for the setting in which I intended to start the story off in, but also gave my players the same thing, a basic idea of where they were in the story's setting. I even went a stepp further and decided to draft a map of the library upon the reqeust of one of my players whose character was going to have an extended interaction taking place inside of it. Basically, I feel that making maps is kinder on the players. it gives them knowledge as to where they are in the story, in the world itself, gives them a definite veiw instead of merely taking the creators word for it, allows them to confirm their standing in this strange new planet with their own judgement, their own physical eye sight. I feel it helps to make things more realistic, even though it may take away from the amount of imagination needed to picture what a place is then if it were described completely with the authors words, players must still have some imagination as to the exact appearance of the buildings and people within the city, is this building old and weathered in their mind's eye? is it white and gilded with gold along the roof? is it made of bricks and shabby in appearance, like a place inhabited by seedy individuals? how do the crowds look? the only descriptor is that they are in merriment, as for what that results in the players mind is up to them.
