Under the Hill - First Circle: Judgement
Sutoratosu replied to Notus's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Ethic cursed under his breath as he saw the she-wolf leap right over the blue tendrils of fire, making them miss their mark. He refocused the energy and again sent the writhing masses of fire flying towards the she-wolf, this time splitting his focus to be equally distributed to half of them, which he split off from the main group and sent headed creeping upon the floor, forming a circle around the She-Wolf... That's when Ix disappeared and reappeared behind him. He then realized that Kenny was here as well... He turned to look at his friend... "Well looks like You found us." He turned his attention back to the She-wolf, sending out his will to the fires he had sent creeping along the floor encircling the wolf and causing them to rise up into the air like the heads of a Hydra. "Kenny, Ix, Get out of here... I'll hold her here for as long as I can." Ethic had a feeling that he was very unlikely to win this battle... But he still was sure as hell gonna try. He saw an interesting tactic in his mind... He reached out to the magician arcana and asked the Keeper, Lucian... There any chance that I can put a command to home in on targets to these things? Lucian replied "Interesting... You're actually the First Invoker to ever ask that about the tendrils... I think it may be possible, with my help..." Well then, let's try it... He could feel a resonating prescence echo forth from the magician and enter his mind, where it began to function in the background... Alright... Let's With that he sent the Tendrils hurtling downward toward their target, the Keeper of the Magician going to work on trying to find a way to induce a homing effect on them... -

Ethic saw as a giant Wolf-like creature came out of nowhere and Seized Ixidor by the shirt collar with it's massive maw, dragging the boy off into another corridor before Ethic could even process what had just happened. "Ixidor...." He Pooled as much power as he could do, yelling out as his anger began to rise... "IXIDOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" He Started breathing harder, his anger rising to far greater levels than ever before "Damn it... and I told Kenny not to let anything happen to him... No... I'm not going to let this happen... Not while I have the power to intervene... And even If I didn't...." With that he dashed off after where he had seen the she-wolf disappeared, rushing past Shelf after shelf, gaining more and more speed... He found them, at the far end of a corridor, It seemed that Ix had managed to escape from the Wolf's maw, but now it was chasing him as the young man hastily scribled things in his Sketch book and tore out the pages, Crude traps springing up from them. But it they didn't look like they would stop a starved chuwawa , let alone a Wolf that was six feet tall on all fours, and the wolf was gaining on Ix much faster than he could run.... There was but one thing for Ethic to do.... He put all the power he had pooled into the Magician arcana, The card flew out of his pocket, Spinning and glowing scarlet, twelve tendrils of fire surged outward, writhing in the air. They awaited Ethic's command. He pointed down range at the She wolf. "Integrity and Courage, House Ytilarom!!!" With that he ordered the fiery tendrils of blazing fury outwards, flying down the Aisle. He used his will to guide them, as if they were arms, making the deadly flares surge completely around Ixidor as he fled the wolf, and flying towards the She-wolf, their heat making the air hiss and pop as they approached... -

"Got it." Ethic watched as Kenny disappeared into the portal he had created in the air, He looked over at Ixidor behind him. "Go on Ix, I'll be there right after you." even with this convenient escape route now available, Ethic was still intent on taking up the rear-guard. -

Ethic saw as Ixidor did as he said, then turned to Kenny... "Alright man, let's get out of here..." -
Well... While I figure out how to get the time to begin my league challenge... Might as well atend Smogon University...
-
Well, might as well get this out of the way now... Since I noticed Ethic is in the match following this one, just out of curiosity, what level would it be appropriate for his partners to be at when he's introduced?

Under the Hill - First Circle: Judgement
Sutoratosu replied to Notus's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
The Light on the Radar died all of a sudden... "That's... not good..." Ethic turned to the other two... "The signal's gone... The reception was crappy and grainy... but we could always at least see some trace of it..." The final judgement arcana began to resonate intensely in his pocket, which typically so far had never happened in favorable situations... Something's around here... he thought to himself. The Resonance increased ten-fold, giving off immense light and heat, as if a torrent of power was coursing from the card. Ethic knelt and grasped his chest, quickly finding the card, the heat nearly searing his fingers on contact. How do I make this stop... A familiar voice echoed in his mind... Tell it to. Acknowledge that it is trying to warn you off something, and it will calm down... Ethic did just that, and the Final Judgement's Resonance stabilized, apparently satisfied of the warning of something it had just given. Ethic stood back up. Shit's about to hit the fan... It wasn't anywhere near that bad either times when I ran into the Crowd of Shadows... He took the lead instantly "Ixidor... I want you to get behind me. RIGHT. NOW." He said those last two words with as much strength as he could put into his voice. The younger boy would just have to trust him and obey for now... He turned to kenny as he began pooling his own power into a reserve he could call upon without doing to much dipping into his body's energy. He knew that whatever had set off the FJ's warning, it was close... "Kenny... Start walking backwards the way we came... I'll take up the rear, make sure nothing happens to Ixidor." He stared the other teen hard in the eye, hoping he'd just do as Ethic asked and didn't question it... He didn't know exactly what was around here, but whatever it was... Ethic had the feeling a fight with it wouldn't be very pretty... Best to make a strategic retreat... even If one doesn't know from what. -

"Ahmm.. Okay, Mr.Ethic, don't worry about me, I can handle those shadow men with ease as long my drawings don't backfire on me!" Ethic looked back at him. "Yeah, that's great and all, Ix... But there are greater threats down here than shadows..." He looked down at the Radar with it's crappy reception, and noticed as the red blip on it representing the rat seemed to come to a stop... and it wasn't too far from here... "Hold on guys... I think we may have found something with these things..." He stopped and continued to watch as the Blip remained motionless on the Radar Screen... -

I see the point on making sure that Classes and culture are diverse. I've actually already split up the main continent into seven different Geographic regions which will also double as Cultural regions, a few examples so far: The ZraZara -Split into two areas, The ZraZara Grass sea and the tundra of Zrazara, also known as South ZraZara and North ZraZara, respectively. The area is characterized for it's vast monster populations, overall cold weather and generous snowfall year round. The soil of this region is actually quite poor despite the fact that South ZraZara is covered in long grasses, which has led to the people inhabiting this region resorting to hunting down Monsters and other indigenous beast as the main method of obtaining sustenance, as Farming is an impractical method. ZraZaran's typically wear Clothing made out of or heavily incorporating the pelts of various monsters instead of plant fibers such as cotton as much of the rest of the Continent does, and were the first people to discover that various body parts of certain monsters could be used in armaments and for medicinal purposes. Despite being the most densely populated place on the continent, there are actually few towns or cities in the region, with most inhabitants comprising large villages, which then unite with one another in protective alliances. As life can be hard and sometimes very bitter and short here at times, the ZraZaran's are the second most devout members of the Cithaloc Faith. Warriors hailing from this region are oft times skilled in fighting while on horse-back. The Cradle - Made up of three lesser geographic areas, The Brizzano River Lands, The Kradus Wetlands, And the Kradus Fens, the Cradle has earned it's namesake due to the highly fertile soil here due to the many marshes and bogs in the area. with a rain season lasting for four months of the year, the people here have adapted a specialized type of agriculture by draining marshes and using the water to irrigate crops. The area is also known for it's aquatic based monsters. Towns are more common here than in the ZraZara, and most elect to unite into an over-arching trade alliance to help ensure crop yields as well as protection from the occasional raiding bandit party. Ever a region inhabited by rather superstitious persons, it has the second largest populace on the continent, and the third most devotion to the Cithaloc faith. Warriors hailing from here are highly adept at combat in wet conditions. I've also decided to have a series of "Core" or signature classes. Each Cultural region will have a signature class that is exclusive to it, two of what I have so far: (There will also be several "Generic classes, which will be available no matter which area one hails from.) Hunter- The ZraZara with terrible soil for Agriculture and a staggering monster monster population, It is no surprised that the elite warriors of the ZraZaran are Hunters. These Courageous young men and women specialize in the practice of hunting down and slaying a myriad of monsters and feral beast alike. With balanced physical attributes, the Hunter prefers closer range combat, able to wield both one and two-handed swords as well as short lances and spears (Four to five feet long) however they are also able to effectively utilize the short bow. They often ride on horse back in combat, and are the most adept at horse riding in the land. They prefer to use up to mid-weight armor, and see Shields more as just a hindrance in battle instead of an added layer of defense. Pighdars- The Cradle -With many Marshes, Bogs, Fens, Streams, and Rivers, those Warriors born and raised in the Cradle region are specialized in Aquatic Combat, able to move through thick, sucking mud, and waist deep water with the grace of an angel. they prefer to fight by using ranged tactics to ensnare their foes and then pull them in to eliminate them at close range. They utilize the Whip and the Weighted rope, the latter of which is often used to ensnare far-off enemies, as well as the Short Sword (1.5 to 2 feet in overall length). they've excellent stamina and agility, and prefer not to weigh themselves down more than is necessary, opting for only light-weight armor and no shield in combat. those are the two I have down so far. Well seeing as how this was just an interest check, I think I'm going to withdraw this Idea for now and continue working on it on the side along with my other RP, to get it more developed and ready to go for the day when it can get up and running. @Hukuna, Thank you for your valuable input and constructive critisism, which has helped me alot in this things development so far. I would like to PM you from time to time for help and pointers on this, If of course, That is alright with you. And also, feel free to ask more questions. I'm going to be looking forward to the finished product of this once I'm finally done.

Under the Hill - First Circle: Judgement
Sutoratosu replied to Notus's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Ethic took the radar that Ix handed him, casting a quick glance at the horrid looking black rat that had sprang forth from Ix's drawing pad, thinking to himself. What's going on with him? First he apparently draws up some skeletal horse, and now he's popping Diseased looking rats from his sketch pad... what, does he have a preference for darker stuff or something? No, that isn't it. That lion and giant frog he drew earlier didn't have this... same uneasy... presence as these things do... but something's happening here... Deciding just to not focus on it right now, Ethic watched as the rat scurried off into the maze of book shelves. "Well it's something, now we have visual! here you each get one. the reception is pretty fuzzy tho, okay lets go" Ixidor had a point. at least now they did have some way of knowing whats ahead, though the crappy reception on the radars was probably going to lead to issues as to knowing exactly where they were headed. He started walking off again, still thinking... Should I tell him about Mr.Taylor? No...no... He's just a kid, and I'm sure that they'll be plenty enough things down here to stress him out without knowing that... With that, he looked back to Ix as the trio walked onward. "Hey, Ix," he began "From now on, I want you to stay close to me unless I tell you otherwise. Understand?" the three continued walking as Ethic awaited Ixidor's response. -
Well, It really goes unsaid with any type of open gaming interaction that one will encounter the occasional Scumbags and Assholes such as malignant hackers, but honestly, it's kinda an unwritten rule; you know that there's a chance that you'll encounter these type of gamers from time to time, and you accept that by participating. That said, when you manage to open up a can of just-deserts on them, don't get cocky about the moral victory (Not that I'm trying to say you were. just in general don't be.) Sit back and watch as their ass gets a Lethal dosage of Justice via the ol Perma-ban. And sleep easier at night knowing that these sad individuals who are too damn lazy and cowardly to actually put some actual effort into developing legitimate skills in the game are now no longer giving the proverbial "Fuck you." to the entire concept of actually acting accountably while Online gaming

Erick tore the two capsules from the holsters on his uniform's waist, clicking the buttons in unison and sending out Genisa and Beldum in twin burst of white light. Genisa stood before him, Eying the platform. Beldum hovered in the air three feet above the dusty ground, emitting a silent humming sound. the two had grown a lot since they were first assigned to him, coming far from where they once were. he'd figured out what most of their weaknesses to certain affinities were; Genisa had a hatred for anything Aphotic in nature as well as insects, and Beldum couldn't stand a fire. he wasn't surprised that the two had yet to metamorphosis into new forms, though Genisa had begun to a few times before, yet stopped half way through, always reverting to her current form, which completely stumped Ray as it defied all the test results on GAOs that had been gathered over time. The past six months had been even more than what he expected them to be. But he wasn't phased by the amount of training, in fact, he somewhat relished it. with it, he truly was able to become stronger. His PTSD was almost completely treated now, the episodes were few and very far inbetween, maybe an occasional nightmare or flash of memory in certain situations, but despite Ray and Oak's warning, they were never worse than the first one had been. He'd excelled in the leadership and psychology lectures, just as he knew he would. Seems that some of his father's capability as a leader had been passed down through the blood line. He was... OK, when it came to hand to hand combat, but it seemed his father's nack for shooting had also been passed down; when it came to Firearms, Erick was probably among the most proficient of anyone in the whole base, He had excellent aim, scored a bulls-eye on the very first test, and every test afterword, when he did miss, it wasn't by more than a few centimeters, he could assemble a rifle in under twenty-two seconds, and disassemble it in ten. Hell, he'd even found it in himself to begin addressing Surge as "Sir". He stood at attention, hands folded behind his back, Genisa mimicked him, anxious to get started with the evaluation and prove her worth.

Ray stepped away from the Transport as soon as Everyone was in. The driver pulled off back onto the dirt road. *The return trip is short, after A few minutes, The Transport is pulling up in front of the gates of the Base. an entourage of six soldiers march out, all of them in full black fatigues- -They Open the gate, but before the Transport can pull in, A senior officer holds his hand out in a halt gesture. The five other soldiers approach the truck, stopping at the Driver and Passenger doors...* Matt watched as several high ranking officers approached the truck, his hands slippery on the wheel Damn... the black coats are out... that's never good... Surge was riding in the passenger seat beside him. He turned over and looked at Matt. "Well, The place is on lock down after all..." Matt replied back... "Yeah... yeah. can't be too careful after all..." He was begining to panick... Shit! did that guard squeal? The officers in black were now standing outside the windows. the two on surge's side tapped his window. The officer said only one thing. "Conspirator." Surge looked over at Matt "Well, I've got to say that I'm surprised, Matt. Never pegged you to be the traitorous type. ------------------------------------------------------ Matt was in full survival mode now. the jig was up, he was exposed. only one way out now, out of the truck cab and into the undergrowth of the forest. He reached up into the driver side blinder, reaching for the Beretta M10 he had stashed there. Before he could get his hand even half way up to it however, Surge was pointing his own side arm at Matt. "Reach a little more, and you won't have to wait to be court martialed and executed." Matt took his other hand off the wheel and held them both in the air. The driver side door opened, and the officers in black dragged Matt out of the cab, he attempted to break free as soon as he was out of the truck, elbowing one of the officers and breaking free of the other two's hold. He Sprinted off towards the tree line. A single gun shot sounded out. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Matt could fell the searing, throbing pain as a rubber round slammed into his right calf, bouncing off and sending him tripping to the earth. he tried to get back up, he couldn't feel his right leg now, but he managed to support his weight on a near by tree and attempted to hobble away. Another shot, another rubber round slams into his other calf, and he fulls to the ground once again, pain in both his legs. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Major Griffin lowered his side arm, A Berreta M10 modified to fire rubber rounds. he walked outside of the gate, the Gold cord on his shoulder signifying him as an MP shining in the sun light. He growled out his orders "Get him on his feet, and inside an interrogation chamber!" Two MP's hoisted up Matt, handcuffing him, then dragged him back to the Base's gate, soon dissapearing from sight. Major Griffin walked up to the Passenger side window. "Surge, get this thing back inside the base." Surge saluted "Yes Sir." He slid over into the driver's seat, Griffon and the three remaining MP's walked back off towards the base. Surge stepped on the gas and pulled into the gates... -------------------------------------------------------- *After a breif stopping period, you again begin to move, then the truck again comes to a halt and shuts off. the back flaps are thrown open. You all get out one by one. You're standing in front of the mess hall pavillion. Surge leads you inside. Lunch is served. afterwards everyone's partner is healed. You are introduced to your new Squad member, Kenny Holmes, and Erick is Assigned the GAO named Beldum as a replacement partner. you all go to sleep that night. At the wake-up call the next morning, Surge is standing at the barrack door, a box of Uniforms under his arms. After everyone has changed into them, you are all ordered to run two-miles through the forest. Your training has officially begun.* _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ (Time marching onward) Six long months pass by. Six long months of Grueling and unending training. You are taught to march in step, handle a firearm, instructed in basic hand to hand combat, lectured every single day by Ray and Oak as to how to properly wield your GAO's abilities, as well as endure ivy league collegiate level lessons in basic group psychology and leadership, as well as mathematics. Some have shown more promise than others. Some show the ability to command. Your partners are at your side with every passing moment of training, growing stronger alongside you, the bond between GAO and handler grows stronger. Through mock fights with one another and simulations with the mysterious device Ray used on you all the first night, They have been thouroughly conditioned, each one gaining ten levels, some even going through the strange proccess of bio-luminescence and meta-mephorsis, changing to new forms... Six long months. three times what it normally takes for basic training. But yet your training is far from over. the day has come.... the day of the first team inspection... *You all stand assembled in the training grounds.General McCarthy, Staff Sergeant Surge and Dr.Ray stand before you on a raised platform. The Sky is crystal clear, the arid soil of the training ground is blown through the humid air. *The wind howls silently. Ray addresses you all, his voice like thunder.* "Cadets, GAO's out and center, NOW!!"

^I will be going with cultures instead of separate races. I've also drafted up a world map detailing cultural and geographic regions. the world will consist of one major continent named "Rojamaris" and four lesser ones named "Varelus", "Akha-Tinora", "Veleeris", and "Serveli" Also, Allow me to restate, those classes listed are just very basing examples of what will be available, not nessacarilly the end all and be all of what will be offered as a choice of class, once I'm am done with the actual full list I will put it up here

All very good questions Hukuna I've taken special care with this idea since I knew that another high fantasy; Graterras, was around already How it will be unique: Magick has fallen far from where it once was. mages used to be common sights. ships of stone and light once flew across the skies, Men were once able to call forth beings from other plains to assist in warfare, Pillars of Crystal once lit the roads, there burned fires that could not be extinguished with water or sand, men were able to live beneath the sea's surface, people could communicate with each other tens of miles away within an instant, not even the laws of nature itself was safe from man's reach. Truly, it was a golden age... but a golden age built on lies and corruption, and at the cost of mankind's very soul... Now only the most well constructed, the most thoroughly crafted magick relics remain, and their power grows weaker with every passing day...not even divine magick has been spared from this fate, with the few relics of hollowed power resting in the hands of the Church. A backstory centered around the Theocracy of Cilothacism, which reigned supreme over the land without question to it's divine authority granted from the Lord of the Sky himself. a huge host of beast and pestulant creatures inspired by Mythologies from all across the ancient world. A world in which almost nothing is sacred. truly effective large governments are few and extremely far between. Most Villages and settlements either govern themselves with councils or elect to unite in protective alliances with one another. The commoner's focus is to simply survive another day. Honor and fealty are worth nearly nothing. the thing that decides a person's continued co-operation is what you can do for them. a corrupt, broken and utterly bitter religion lost technology. Swords that caught cut through solid steel and stone as if they were butter. Arrows that detonated on impact. even a fire powder capable of launching immense projectiles. Players will be playing both Villains and Heroes, which side they chose and whether or not they view themselves as it will be up to them. The story will be a good 70-85% influenced by the player characters actions. There is an ultimate evil to be confronted, Characters who chose to allign themselves with the darker end of the spectrum will have their own motivations, but their actions will ultimately end up serving the ends of forces far greater than themselves, whether they know it or not... overview of Classes available (this is just a Sample selection) Guardsmen- a basic warrior, mostly trained and employed in the defense of independent villages and towns. trained in basic weaponry such as sword and javelin, as well as shield, but can easily learn to use other arms. Mercenary- a wandering former soldier willing to work for anyone who offers them coin or a room for the night. trained in random armaments. Mercenaries could've been many things prior to choosing this life... A gaurd, an archer, a huntsmen... Hunter/Huntress- Individuals who make their living by hunting down monsters and animals alike. the sole few who are brave enough to still venture through the world's forest without safe-guard. often use spears, heavy bows, crossbows, and pikes. Archer- Soldiers trained to act as ranged guards against attacks, sniping down enemies with bows, heavy bows, heavy crossbows, Ballistas and slings. they are chosen from their peers because of their sharper than average Eyesight. Watcher- though the grand Theocracy has fallen long ago, the church still holds some sway in the land, oft times training young men and women to be their eyes and ears around the land. value confidentiality above all else. usage of knives and other various implements to deal death. Nisassa- The old language's word for "Hit-man or Hired killer". hired mostly by less than forthright individuals and deal out death with knives, swords, daggers, darts, and even poison. Thief- Individuals who chose to resort to petty theft, taking what they want and melding back into the shadows. often times are unarmed. High-way men/ Bandits- Theifs who have gained the courage to hit trade outpost and small villages and townships in force. Priest- An Agent and servant of the faith of the church. Delivering Sermons and parish services by day, and carrying out the churches will by night. (again these are very basic class examples available as the actua fulll list has yet to be completed.) The lone race available to players is Human.

I don't want to go into to much detail, but: the overall goal is to either prevent, hasten, or do nothing about the second coming of the Fallen Ruler of the Atmosphere. how it ultimately ends is entirely based on character decisions the side one chooses is entirely up to them. they provide their own motivations, their own past, their own justifications. no one says that they nessacarilly have to do anything about it.... But it was killed the first time for a reason... And God knows what will happen if it returns...

Well, a day or two ago it hit me after I changed my name. Stratos the Sky Slayer... there could be a genuine story behind this... And here we are. no poll for this idea, unlike the Poke'-war, I knew what the conditions of this should be when it popped into my head. just checking to see if people would be interested in it. (And before anyone get's any ideas. no, I don't have vanity issues.) Let us begin... Conditions: the RP will be primarily Player character driven. Their Actions heavily influence the story and plot. For the most part I'd be providing the occasional narration for clarity and keeping order and organization. This will be a High-Dark Fantasy Genre of RP. the world might be surprisingly terrible in some places. Magick will for the most part be a lost art, with very few relics of knowledge remaining. No Leveling system. for the most part this will allow a lot more freedom and fluidity, as well as reduce the work load. a story of ends and means, Horrible actions justified with good reasons... the plot will be taking place in a world currently without a name, several hundred years after an Event known as "the Bleeding Sky" in which the largely worshiped ruler of the atmosphere was struck down by one sworn to his service. Several things changed when it fell, the skies turned scarlet, the mountains became inhospitable, the winds ceased forever, the sea's turned cold and forbidding. the land suffered and many died. still recovering from several of the effects of the "Bleeding Sky" the world has grown dark and hostile, the ability of Magick was all but forgotten, the inhabitants damn the one called the "Sky Slayer" with their every breath. in this fallen realm a group chosen by chance embark... well, that's pretty much an overveiw... Questions? Anyone Interested?
