  1. That is correct, We are using Gen 5 mechanics in the RP, so that means no Fairy types. No Mega Evolutions, sorry... But I don't think they would be needed in the RP anyway. many of us learned how to fight battles long before ME was even a thought, so it's not really that special, IMO. *Gags K_H* Don't give away the answers, that takes some of the fun out of it. Relax, I won't kill him off... YET Wait, Damn it! I cant kill him off period, because then it would make no sense as to how he could be met in surges gym... Also, K_H, You just did a... triple post . Please, in the future, just edit your last post if someone hasn't posted after it yet. Not doing so takes up needless space on the forum.
  2. *Meanwhile, Oak and Ray's Phone call to the lab is wrapping up...* "Ok, And you're sure the new fail safes will work?" "Excellent, be sure to keep a close eye on the Phantom Wyrm..." (//OCC: Phantom Wyrm... What could that be?... Hmmm....) With that, Oak turned off the Cell phone and slid it back in his pocket. "We wont speak of this any further until we are back in the Facility, Agreed?" Proposed Ray, who was now scratching Salem under the chin. "Agreed." Replied Oak Just then, Ray's cell began to ring. He picked it up, It was General McCarthy on the other end. "Yes, sir... Another one? What, he just passed the test? well, How long was he in there?" "I see..." "But, Sir... We've already selected the members for Surge's Squad..." "What? Sergeant Tucker is where?.... I see, then that means his spot will technically be vacant for the time being..." "Very well then, We will place him in and pair him with suitable partners..." Ray clicked the phone shut and turned to Oak, still scrathing Salem's chin "Well, It seems that... Tucker has been injured by a suspected Conspirator. they give him an estimated full recovery in Three to Six monthes, And they'll be keeping him in the Med wing here at base instead of discharging him." "And what was that I heard about another Cadet arriving?" "Oh, right. The name is Kenneth Holmes. Apparently he got in the Recruitment process the same time as everyone else in the Squad, but for some reason, he only just passed the final test a few minutes ago. They've decided to place him in Tucker's slot on the team until he recovers." (//OCC: And NO, this does not mean that Kenneth will be second in command to Surge, he's more of just a place holder for Tucker) "Ok, well, when does he arrive?" "This Evening is what they estimated, an hour or two before dinner is served. You have any Ideas on what to give him?" "No, We'll have to look at his Personnel report first. And then there's still the matter of replacing the fallen GAOs of Erick and Surge." "Right, well, I think Surge can wait a while longer, but as for Erick, let's see what we have that isn't already assigned..." It was then that Ray's cell rang again "Yes..." "What, How?! Thats... that is biologically impossible..." *The sounds of a fight can be heard from the cell speaker, the howls of a canine and some strange metal on metal sound.* "Alright... Weak to Fire, is it?" "Alrighty then, get that thing in a capsule, and we'll give it to freeman as his replacement partner..." Ray once again fliped the device shut. "Problem solved?" Asked Oak "Yes," Said Ray "Somehow, the virus... We're guessing a spider or something crawled into one of the machines in the lab... The Virus transformed it, and... It somehow... Fused with the Machinery, actually, here, he sent me a picture..." Ray pulled out the phone again and showed Oak *Back to the clearing*
  3. that's fine, just make sure to edit accordingly. Also, @ K_H, You will be introed in a while (After the story gets back to the Base.) Your existence has been acknowledged by Ray and Oak.
  4. Well, i've worked it out, and K_H will be added into the story soon. As for how soon, I can't give any promises... Also, as for Oak, he'll be back in a while. though I think it just best if Lar's were to try and get to know his partners a little more, since Oak will be caught up in his... Classified Business for a little longer.
  5. Erick and His only remaining GAO partner watched as the other Cadets engaged in various training activities with their Partners. He couldn't help but chuckle a little when Clint's partner, the giant rock snake, burst out of the ground and showered the former airforce pilot- Nathan, Erick beleived his name was, with dirt and stone. He chuckled a little more when one of nathan's partners, an orange lizard with a flaming tail, began to panick, running around in circles while spewing hot embers everywhere; A few patches of undergrowth were beginning to catch fire. But the lizards panicked state got him thinking. There must be some sort of system that took over when the old one fell to the virus... There has to be some order... some way to balance it all out in the way it is now... He felt something probe inside his mind, and a moment later, Virtue's voice rang out in his mind. Weakness. It was so obvious now that he felt a bit silly for not figuring it out himself. He had seen as Logan's turtle creature had gone into the forest and come back with some grass, handing it to it's handler, and even before that, some of the GAOs had been noticeably spooked by the second Storm Encounter just a while ago, while others seemed to not be bothered at all by the massive amount of lightning and thunder, and yet he only now thought anything about it. He looked down at virtue, the two of them hadn't moved since the incident with Lars and Clemont. "So, what your saying is, there is a system that's in place for the new order, and that system has something to do with weaknesses?" Virtue nodded her head. "Well then, whats your weakness?" Virtue looked around the clearing for a few moments, apparently trying to find an example for Erick. Finally, she laid her eyes on the Wolf-like GAO that had come back from the woods after being injured; it was still being looked at by it's handler, who apparently thought that there was still some serious injury to the animal. "So you're weakness is... Canines...?" Virtue shook her head "No? then why are you-" Erick was cut off by a strange sensation in his eyes, it was as if someone had seized control of them, and were now forcing him to look at the Wolf GAO on a far closer level. He had the feeling that this was Virtues doing... "What are You... How...?" Just... W-watc...h Erick watched, and after a few seconds, he could see... strange colors and waves in the air, like almost a rainbow. There were dark waves of inky black flowing off the Wolf-GAO. He was still puzzled as to what this all meant "What is that?" Sighing in what sounded like dissapointment, Virtue undid whatever she had done to Erick's eyesight, and he was able to control it again, the colors and waves in the air vanished. He looked back down at her, only to see her now heading to a tree at the clearing, one that was shrouded in shadows of the near-noon sunlight. she stoped a few feet away from it, then pointed at one of the many shadows at the trees base. "shadows... and those waves coming of the.... Oh, I get it! You're weak to darkness?" Virtue nodded. Erick walked up next to her at the tree base. "so what else are you weak to?" Virtue Shrugged in response. "Alright." said Erick, deciding to let the issue rest for now "Why don't you show me what you can do, besides what you've already done." The ralts turned it's attention to two cadets who were conversing in the clearing; Logan and another man that Erick had yet to meet. Virtue's Eyes glowed with a heavy Scarlet hue, and she began concentrating hard. As Erick watched her. he began catching pieces of the conversation, which would have been impossible for him to hear, as the two were at least a good sixty or so feet away from him: “I’m Logan... Crush, my Sq... remember... Chimchar. It was t...onkey stirr....ak incident.” Virtue's Eyes stopped glowing and she sat down on the hard packed earth, breathing heavily from the exertion. "Well, I think that could be... useful... Is there anything else." The ralts stared up at him, still breathing hard, looking a little irritated. Her eyes glowed once more and Erick gasped as a sudden stream of sudden thoughts and pain shoot through his head, bringing him to his knees, he clutched his head, much as how Lars had been clutching his. It lasts for about five seconds at the most, then the pain, along with the scrambled thoughts, dissapeared without a trace; he felt as fine as he had a few moments ago. "W... what was that?" Virtue gave no reply, just continued to sit there and watch the other teams from the shaded base of the tree. Erick figured that was enough for today, and took out Virtue's capsule, figuring that putting her back inside would allow her to get some rest. Virtue's head whipped around at the sound of the ball's click, and her eyes blazed as the capsule flew out of Erick's hand and landed on the ground next to Virtue. Erick, puzzled by her reaction, reached down and tried to retrieve it, only to see it fly away from his fingers when they got close. finally, though, he managed to get it back in his grasp. Virtue's eyes now showed a fear that had never been there before. Finally, Erick got the message. "You... don't like being inside this, do you?" No... Erick couldn't help but Scold himself God, am I an idiot sometimes! she was human, after all, before she was turned. Of course she hates being inside this capsule thing, she has no freedom what so ever inside! "Sorry about that, then..." Said Erick as he tucked the ball back into his jacket's pocket. He walked over and sat beside the Ralts. "tell you what then, I'll try and keep you out of it every day for as long as I can. How does that sound?" Virtue nodded her head cheerfully, relieved at this proposed alternative to the captivity of the capsule. "Alright then. we have an agreement."
  6. Actually... It kinda does. Well, guess that's one issue with the character maker solved...
  7. *Climbs back up the hill and uses fling on Bibarel, sending him flying through the air and banishing him to some far off land for being so cliche* "We have moved past such simple methods of Conquest for this hill!" *Leans back in lazy boy recliner, begins reading the paper.* "Well, what do you know? Looks like I'm king."
  8. Accepted. I'll start a waiting list I guess, and work out how the intros for people on it are going to take place...
  9. "Friend, Teleport!!" *My Gardevoir teleports Tempest to the bottom of the sea, where he is crushed by the pressure.* That was easy King, once more.
  10. Well, I had one thing up my sleeve rose.... You killed me after I had Cast Chronoshift on myself!!! :Kappa: After dancing in my outsmarting of Rose, I appear back on the hill. Guess the spell malfunctioned, because there is someone new fighting for this hill... oh well, I'ma kill you now, stranger. *Stabs banana in the back, Assassin's creed style, then disbands his pitiful army and exiles them to the northen wall.* And once more, I am king.
  11. Yes, actually, as I decided to toss out that restriction before partners were handed out in the story. You may choose pokemon up to Gen4. But it must be the other side of the breeding pair if someone already chose it. (Ex. say you wanted a squirtle, there's already one claimed, and it's male, so you could still claim one, but it would have to be female
  12. Not at all. Put it up and i'll see if I can can find a place to put you in.
  13. *Goes to rome, gathers up a bunch of pissed off Patricians, comes to the hill.* "Yo Notus!!" *Me and the patricians stab Notus 23 times, then watch as he bleeds out into the grass.* "Very good, but I have something for you, my highborn freinds..." *Unleashes a burst of utter darkness, opening a vortex from which the souls of the lost and the lonely reach out and start grabbing the Patricians, one by one. Leading them is... Julius Ceaser * One of the patricians cries out as he is dragged into the void "Et tu, Ethic? Et tu...?" "Yes, even me. Now shut up and die." *Void closes, I forge a bastard sword out of light, and decapitate Notus for good measure, kicking his head down the hill* Well, it appears I'm king. :Kappa:
  14. "There can only be one winner!!" *Katnis and Petta about to attempt suicide* "You know what, nevermind! We have changed the rules: There can only be TWO Winners now!!"

  15. Well, Glad that other people find my tactic useful as well . @ Omega, good luck with that Noibat, man... I tried raising one on my last play through. It was absolutely awful... The damn thing evolves at level48, which isn't uncommon for a dragon type... But that thing, it aint like other dragons. It will be 48 levels of pure hell; It's stats are horrible all around, making it virtually useless in the mid to late part of the games battles, You're going to spend a very long while babying that thing. Even With the Tactic I proposed above, it will still be rather unsavory raising it, as by it's early thirties(IIC), the thing will need about 4500 exp to go up a level... Just thought it fair to warn you. I myself ended up putting the thing in daycare, then leveling it up by one to see it evolve... Even as a Noivern, it still proved rather useless at that point in my playthrough. Now it rots in a storage PC box on my old playthrough file. Please, my freind, save yourself the grief and frustration. Noibat... It is not like the deino-line, where you'll work your ass of getting it to it's final form, but will be more than happy with the pay off. You'll do alot of work, rest assured, but the payoff from this one will be poor enough to make you want to throw yourself off the Beryl Bridge in utter frustration. Feel free to built your team how you want, however. That review sounds harsh, but it's how I think of Noibat after using it myself, it's Just my two cents. :Kappa:
  16. Against Luna... Hmmm... Maybe so, but there's one of those regenaration star things right outside the chamber where her battle takes place, so if one were to just ignore after the fight with bennet, come back after healing at a center... Well no, because that star has no use in battle. Anyways... I think that by luna's point, it probably would by worthy in terms of ensuring you don't lose money after losing the battle. As for whether it'll be as usefull in terms of leveling... I dont know, it'll probably depend on what one is using on their team, as Luna's team can be pretty merciless if you give them the chance... Making it near impossible in some situations to stick to the strategy instead of trying to fend them off. (Especially that Humpty-dumpty! Stonewalled me a bunch a times before I managed to lucky-shot it and crush luna) I'd reccomend following the economic Advice before facing her, But as you said, It's a good strategy for the Beginning parts of the game. so it's probably not smart to try and use her for a Phoenix Sweep. At that point in the game, It'll be far safer to just take an underlevel pokemon to someplaces like beneath the grand stair and Route1 to train it up in leveled increments, instead of in quick burst in heated battles like the Phoenix Sweep does.
  17. Ray noticed Salem bound off into the trees a few feet a way, snarling. He followed and saw Lionel. "Heel, Boy!" He said to salem. Immedietly the tiger stood down and went back over to where the phone call was still in session. Ray stared hard at Lionel "Listen, Right now, whatever Question you have will just have to wait, we have some very important matters to sort out at this moment." He turned and headed back to Oak, looking back at lionel for a sec "Oh, and don't eavesdrop. This is one thing none of you are authorized to hear about, so turn around, and head back to the group. I promise that either Oak or myself will answer your inquiry later." With that, he strode back over to Oak...
  18. Whoops... sorry bout that. I never actually went through with the trade with her, and so when she said she was willing to exchange a morphing pokemon, I took it at face Value and assumed she ment ditto ._. Though, now I realize that Castform also fits that description... Ame should really change that so in the next Episode, so She actually states that she's willing to trade a castform, because it's just plain miss-leading when she says "Morphing pokemon" (Actually, Her father called it that, but still, she didn't say exactly what it was...) Anyway, why not try a good steel type, as beleive someone above me said already, Magnezone should do (Or empoleon, if you chose Piplup as a starter.) aanother is a Strategy I call "Phoenix Sweep". It's effective if your team is a bit underlevel, or you want to evolve something (Though, the pokemon in question should have decent defenses to survive combat) I suggest spending all your cash on medicinal items before starting though, as one of the key points of this is to lose... Repeatedly, And it would be a shame if you lost all your cash during this process because you didn't invest wisely... Anyway, here is a basic rundown Before the major battle (I used this strategy to eventually beat Corey after three or four tries), Switch the lead of your party with the pokemon you intend to level up/evolve. (Again, should have decent defenses, as things could go bad and it may be forced to fight it's way out of the battle) Initiate the major battle After your lead is thrown in (Pokemon to be leveled) Switch it out with a stronger pokemon (Ex. For Corey, I sent in my level27 Teddiursa against his Trubish, then switched Teddiursa out immediately for Braxien) Use said stronger pokemon that has been chosen to defeat the Foe. When prompted, send out the intended leveler again, repeat steps 3-5 as nessacary, throwing in other members of the party when strategically valuable (Ex. I sent in Pidgeotto to lower his Skunktank's Attack with Feather dance, lowering it's massive attack stat and making it safer for other's to come in and finish it off. Pidgeotto fainted in the process, but it's like I said before, lossing is key) Eventually, you'll be brought to your last stand if you aren't strong enough to finish the fight in your favor. You'll lose. Don't get discouraged, You barely lost any cash because you didn't have any if you followed my advice on buyig medicine. (Note: For steps 1-6, it is vital that you lose little to none healing products, as those should be saved for the real fight.) Get back in there and rematch. Lose again, but you still come out of the fight with some levels gained if you played your cards right. Keep on persevering until you feel your strong enough to stop this charade and actually fight seriously. (By the time I finished with this technique on Corey, Braxien, Emolga, And Teddiursa had gone up by about 3-4 levels, and Teddiursa evolved into urasing. We went in there and Crushed corey in five minutes the next time we fought him.) This should work just fine against any other leader/ Boss battle, some notes though: since corey specialized in poison, I made sure that my ace (The one who was getting swaped in to handle the Foe.) had a good pyschic type move (Braxien had Psybeam, and actually learned psyshock thru gaining levels in the fight) Making taking the Enemy out much easier (Type effectivness is also quite important) Seeing as how Aya also specilizes in Poison, I suggest you get something that knows Either Psychic or Ground moves (Psychic is better, seeing as how her team is rather bulky and will better withstand Physical moves, as most Ground moves are) Teddiursa got a big boost in power after evolving to urasing, which was my cue to crush the enemy at last. As I said before, use the rest of your party as well, don't let them sit there. sent them out when they have moves that prove useful in a certain situation. If they faint, Good then. It will free up a share of the Exp for the others battling. It's called phoenix sweep because you will fail time and time again, but eventually rise up from your ashes more powerful and wiser to the opposing side than you were when you started.
  19. Ray was halfway to the treeline. following Oak, when Sid came out of nowhere and tugged his sleeve, asking for help. Ray examined him, seeing the heavy paralysis in the young mans body, He reached into the medical bag on his side and pulled out a container, unscrewing the lid and dumping two small, blood red pills into his hand, each one labeled Cheri. He pressed both of the pills into sid's hand. "Take those pills with some water..." He took out a bottle of water, and tossed it at Sid, it landed at his feet. "And that paralysis should clear up soon." With that, he continued after Oak to the treeline, not waiting for Sid's response. He could hear the conversation continue as Oak stopped at the trees "Tell me, What Are you seeing in it exactly..." Salem came over and waited at Ray's side as the call continued on speaker phone, The Large Tiger making sure to be watchful for any eavesdroppers...
  20. Oak listened as Nathan thanked him and asked for leads "Well, Grey, I'm afraid we have no leads for this, unfortuanately." He looked over to clemont, who was still in a deep slumber on the ground. "I would have him try and find what it was that tried, but we might have the same situation on our hands if I did that, and next time might not end well..." Oak walked over and pulled out clemont's capsule, calling him back to it in a flash of red light. "Though, perhaps an answer is right beneath our noses... Dear mother of God..." Oak pulled out a phone and called the base. "Yes, Reginold, it's me, Oak. Tell me, what's going on with #156...?" Oak walked away as the Call continued, signalling Ray over, the young Doctor came running and listened in as the two approached the treeline...
