  1. I was thinking up some field effects that might be pretty neat to tack on to the list. If anyone else has any effects that a lot of people agree to be pretty awesome, I'll add on. Feel free to add effects of the field to the thread and I'll add them on if people like them. Here's what we've got: Blinding/Bright The effectiveness of Dark-type moves is reduced by 25%. Moves that deal with eyesight (i.e. Leer, Scary Face, etc.) reduce the user's accuracy by one stage. +More as is suggested Mirror/Reflective The effect of Double Team is doubled (Evasiveness raises two stages). The use of Confuse Ray also affects the user. Moves that cause stats for oneself to drop (Such as Curse or Draco Meteor) also cause the opponent to have the respective stat dropped. +More as is suggested Low/No Gravity Flying-type moves are increased in damage by 25%. (Watch out for Gale Wings) The speed of steel-types is decreased by 10% (Subject to change). The accuracy of moves with 80+ becomes 100, if not already. The moves Hi Jump Kick and Jump Kick do not cause a health reduction if they miss. +More as is suggested I hope people add both new fields and conditions to these ones listed.
  2. Weird. I had encountered it in the wild plenty of times before.
  3. And that special Steel/Psychic type that I so dearly love. 'dat Abra, tho. In addition to the "Vinny's Oversight" list, Spinda can be added. It's found in the eastern grove of Disappearing-Stuff Forest
  4. Kozuto was able to manifest multiple bodies at once: he was a Sand Surfer, a Falcon, a dog, and himself all at once, split among four beings. Using his last Ancestor's Request, he brought up a large wall of stone in a dome shape. He quickly spun into a meditation pose to better control his ties to the creatures he manifested. As the sand surfer, he dove from below the sand onto the back of one scraeth, tightly biting its pincher while the tale of the surfer injected poison into its tail, similar to a leech. From there, it released its grip, diving into the sand again. As the Sphinx Falcon, he dove sharply from the sky, bearing its sharp talons into the sheltered eye of the beast. As the three entities, he did not wish to kill the beasts: his companions would do that. He would simply incapacitate them. While the surfer attacked, the falcon went back into the sky to attempt another strike. Likewise, when the surfer dove, the falcon attacked the scraeth. His bond with the creatures was strengthening. He had achieved complete focus in his Nomad body, which allowed him to better focus on controlling the animals. As the hunting dog,he circled the battlefield, allowing the Nomad a set of eyes with which to watch after himself. Using the abilities and strengths of the four animals, each would benefit. The surfer would be able to pinpoint weak points, the eagle would be able to work on ripping the tail off, and the dog continually gave the other two creatures a perspective from afar. The force connecting all three was Kozuto himself. As long as he retained this state, he could control the creatures. However, that would not last long. A scraeth started to smash its way into his defenses. The stone began to crack.
  5. Welcome. Prepare yourself for sanity jokes. Your move, Tempest.
  6. Gale had only a fragment of the idea Togepi was suggesting. She brought the ball back to him, as if to say yes, but shook her head- rather, she shook most of her body. "Well, we might be a bit late getting home. Or at least what I consider home. You are quite warm, so it is nice to keep you nearby." He picked up Togepi into his arms again and headed back to the entrance of the forest. Having lived in Reborn for all of his life, he was rather used to the climate and geography of the place. It was strange, then, to feel a sudden chill, as if a strong north-eastern wind from the Carnelia had blown. "Gotta pick up the pace, or we'll freeze out here." Gale said. He began to run a bit faster.
  7. I don't "do" adorable, but I think Togepi is just that. I don't think Togepi is Sue-ish. The only thing that is Sue-like is if you used Metronome and it rolls V-Create. But even then, that's unlikely. I think you're good to go.
  8. Gale watched the Togepi eat the berries rather quickly. After seeing what was pretty much the end of the world, he had a right to say this was adorable. After she finished, she paused for a second, then walked up to him, arms raised and made a soft, shrilling noise. He smiled, lifting the Pokemon into his arms. Up in the sky, shades of blue turned to orange. "Sun's going down. We'd best get going." He started walking out from the clearing where he met his new companion. It seemed that, with the Pokemon nearby, he felt more optimistic. "If we want to make it back in time, I gotta start running. It'll be bumpy, but if it gets to be too much, let me know. I could put you in a poke ball or..." Come to think of it, Gale hadn't considered trying to catch the Pokemon. He took a poke ball from his satchel, making a gesture towards Togepi. "I could put you in here. It might be safer, but I don't know what's inside." He set down Togepi, and placed the ball in between them. Cross-legged, he raised his eyebrows as if to ask Togepi if she wanted to go inside.
  9. He had no idea what this little gal just did to save him. But it worked. As the trees left, he heaved a sigh of relief. Gale looked at the Togepi, which seemed a bit smaller in size from seconds ago. He bent down on one knee, and looked at the little creature, which look completely innocent and even somewhat frightful. "Togepi, I think it is? You just saved me from living trees. I don't quite know how to correctly respond, but a thank you is in order. So! Thank you." He pulled his trademark smirk, much more at ease. "I don't know if you understand me, but I'd like it if we stuck together. Sound good? I've got food and shelter." He pulled out a few oran berries, not sure the Pokemon would like it, but it's the best thing he had. Berries were quite rare, and Oran were the most common of the rarities. Gale stretched out his arm, palm upward, berries in hand.
  10. Just before his inevitable demise, Gale heard a soft, rather high-pitched sound from not far away. He looked right to see a small creature- a Togepi- with its tiny arms raised, making noises at the ghost trees. Back at the reconstruction site, there were lists of useful Pokemon: all that were not on the list were considered useless and should be killed off to allow only the strongest to survive. Suddenly, Gale tasted bile in his throat, thinking of how stupid the people there were to think that a Togepi wasn't of any use: it could communicate with threats and had the bravery to do it. Being familiar with the danger of the new world, he was able to slow his pulse among these threats and make himself appear to be no threat. If he proved himself to be innocent and well-intentioned, and this Togepi acted as his wingman, then he could get out of there safely- maybe even with the Pokemon.
  11. Why not do the lvl. 5 Aron method? Get up a Sandstorm, pray she does have any SS resistant types, and cross your fingers
  12. In the forest, the trees seemed to give off a sort of vibe. He had managed to kick and crawl his way through the forest, and made it into what seemed like the heart of the place. Pokemon in the wild were a very uncommon sight now. Either that, or they had managed to adapt to the humans who attacked them. Gale would not allow himself to be a hypocrite: he had killed two Tauros before and sold a Skiddo to get money. They had a reason to fear humans, but now the guilt had shown. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a slight movement. He turned and saw a tree that clearly did not belong there. It had a strange antennae on its head, three shrubs on either arm for hands, yellow scruff markings, and legs. Most trees don't, so this had to be a Pokemon. "Hey. Tree-mon." It stood there as if it did not hear him. "You can probably hear me. Because that's what most Pokemon used to do. I need someone- or someTHING-" he looked at the tree again, unsure if he would regret this- "to guard my place while I search for food. Capiche?" Gale stood there for ten seconds, as if he were really talking to an inanimate tree. Sighing, he shook his head. When he opened them, the tree had come closer. Gale closed his eyes for just a second, then opened, and it was in front of his entire face. Obviously startled, he flinched, falling back on a branch. The tree seemed to chuckle at him, as he got up, prepared to punch the thing. "You are gonna regret that!" The tree suddenly dropped its arms and ran back. A smile crept across Gale's face, but as he turned around, what awaited him was a floating tree stump. Again, he tripped back, but caught himself. He took a look at the ghost-tree hybrid that float in front of him. Two more appeared from his left and right. These things had him surrounded. He stepped back, cornered into a group of large, topped trees. "Oh, shit."
  13. Can Pokes have more than four moves? Because that could get interesting
  14. Alright. Throw yourself in and I'll see if I can't find an opening. I suppose I'll be catching you first. And as a side note/question, are moves determined by the trainer or the Pokemon? Because you mentioned Metronome, and the only other "normal" level-up moves it can have as of level 14 are Metronome, Sweet Kiss, and Yawn. I suppose you can add a TM or egg move to have at least one attack
  15. So much for a home, Gale thought. He walked on the ceiling of an overturned Poke Mart, so it was technically the floor. He had to pull himself up to even reach the door to leave that morning. If it was even morning. The day of The Cataclysm, he was on his way to catch his first Pokemon. Never before had Gale owned one, because his cocky attitude led to a bet that ended in his cousin getting the last Poke Ball in stock. The next restock of Poke balls would come the day the world turned round. About a week had passed since the event, assuming time still worked out. Now, he lived in this sorry excuse of a shop. Rested and ready from running away hours before, he climbed out from the door, hit the rubble-strewn ground, and weighed his choices. To his right, a large forest stood, though many trees were overturned, and fissures and cracks lined the path leading into it. To his left, the city laid in destruction. Most buildings were wrecked, but some had a slice through the whole thing, as if a giant had taken a knife to it and removed the sliced half. In the shelter he used to live in, an analyst said that this event was caused by a legendary Pokemon, able to control even space, and the town's elder said that it was also caused by another that could control time. This was obviously a lie: that could not cause such a huge apartment to warp into what it now is. At any rate, Gale needed to move. He had enough food to last about a week, but needed to either get more or find protection. However, if he could not defend himself, then it would matter not how much wealth he had in food. On him, he carried three poke balls, one great ball, plenty of berries (mostly oran), and a small, glossy stone he found along the way to the mart. He turned towards the forest, jogging.
  16. Alright. My character is currently in between a forest and a city, so that's two places to search. I was thinking of catching Blaze (Flux), as he left off saying he was in a forest. Would that work out for you, Flux? On a related matter, my character, Gale, used to live somewhere close to Route 1, where there were Tauros and Bouffalant. But now, he is in between a city and a forest. So, he could be in Jasper or Beryl.
  17. Name: Gale Colriedia Species: Human Age: 19 Appearance: Fond of the color blue, he tends to wear a sea-blue overcoat (larger sweatshirt) over his dark grey shirt, along with jeans and simple, dark running shoes. His hair is blonde, about medium length, reaching his ears, covering his forehead, and almost covering his neck. Typically, in fair weather conditions, he will wear one sleeve up and the other down. He wears a single, thin blue and orange-colored band on his left wrist, the arm with the sleeve up. (If I could draw, I would, but I cannot to save my life) Personality overview: He is a focused person, but is quite active. He holds his pride quite high, so any challenges that come to him are always accepted, even in the face of complete humiliation. Always looking to be the very best like no one ever was, beat the odds and leave a legacy, Gale wants nothing more than a story to tell and a giant honorary statue to prove it. He is quite cocky, but knows when to shut up and tends to have a cocky, angled smile when he's feeling good. (Like Athena Cykes with her fist in hand) Backstory: Living with his cousins for the past 10 years, Gale had come to a personal consensus that he dislikes them. However, he was quite dependent on them since The Cataclysm. They lived in a shelter along with almost 500 other people who had only recently been able to build shelters in the rubble and manage to make gardens. His responsibility was to search for Tauros, Bouffalant, or Skiddo to use to food and milk. While only mildly successful in catching three in recent history, two Skiddo and a Tauros, he once was attacked by a Bouffalant and had to kill it to save himself. For this reason, he has attempted and succeeded in leaving the shelter. That was two days ago. Gale had found a PokeMart, completely overturned with the front door upside down, between a forest and a rubble-filled town. There, he gathered the remaining 6 poke balls and 2 great balls. He has been able to survive on food that was in the mart, but enough only lasts for one week's time.
  18. You'll want to post the natures, items, EVs, and all that jazz as well. It's difficult to rate the team without knowing its build and its role. We can't really do an accurate RMT without that information. And if you're going against the League, you can have no Megas, so that Scizor cannot hold Scizorite
