  1. according to the bem test I scored 58,333 for masculinity, 55,833 for androgynous and 60 feminine. I thought at first that it was a comma and I was hella manly? but a point makes more sense so now i'm wily.

Is this the new status bar? Because I think we need one

  5. something to note, I think there's a statistic floating around out there about how the first time we experience a story we only take in 40% of the details, or something to that effect. Going through a game again can reveal details you never noticed the first time.
  6. Plenty of people replay JRPGs because the genre is one of the strongest examples of writing and gameplay mixed together as a subgenre of the strongest story telling genre, the RPG. The engaging gameplay in most of this genre, note these are NOT necessarily turn-based RPGs a la FF (Tales of, FE, Star Ocean etc), enables people to go through one of their favourite stories with the variation that makes games replayable. Not to stuff words into Coolgirls mouth, just a possible explanation.
  7. 2 Xcom 2 or 2 not Xcom 2, that is the question.

  8. I used Warframe to turn Gregory House into a Smurf.

If we're supposed to guess the game then I'm clueless.

  10. And yet people do play it again and again. Bethesda is known as the company who makes roadtrip games. You go play the games for obscene amounts of time then stop for a while. Maybe a few months, maybe a year. Then you go back to it once you've forgotten mst of the events, make a new character and embark on the same journey again. There's a fairly large userbase for these games that validates this despite the fact that most of the best bethesda RPGs were released almost five years ago. Besides, the fact is your point that they have a huge amount of content proves my point. It's about variation. If you've done one dungeon or quest before and you don't want to do it, you go somewhere else, do something else.
  11. In the end it comes down to variation. Repetition sucks, as the many anti-grinding fans will cry to the heavens. A game becomes replayable when you find a way to play that is just as engaging as the first time and typically that comes from a difference in the gameplay or the story. Maybe the difference in gameplay comes from us, we get better and more experienced as we play and so refine our techniques, providing an evolving way to play the game, see most fighters/mobas. Sometimes we take on a completely different playstyle that we use to get through the world, see bethesda RPGs which are renowned for the amount of time people can put into the game on multiple profiles or Fire Emblem games which feature a variety of unique units to take into each mission at your choice. Maybe a game provides extra content, again see bethesda games for the various mods you can use or the Binding of Isaac and Spelunky which feature daily challenges to bring you back to the game. Those same games are stacked with variety to begin with through the use of systematic randomisation, another popular tactic to ensure people face different situations and challenges in their games. On the story side, we can see how vital variety is to the experience. The Telltale games are renowned for their stories... and that's it. I've never heard of anyone replaying any game from a telltale series because a lot of the time the game is full of false choice. Whatever happens in those games, as much as they flaunt the effects of their choices you still end up at the critical choices in each episode. You still get the same general ending (with the notable excption of the walking dead season 2). On the flipside, let's look at Visual novels, another genre of games that are hugely centred on story. Most that use choice within their stories often have people coming back to see what happens in each individual route, the most obvious one I can think of being Fate/Stay Night. The story in each route is incredibly different and to get to each route you have to make specific choices achieve it. What the novels lack in gameplay they make up for with varying takes on an interesting story.
  12. Of course I'm gonna show interest if I liked the first game. It's more of what I liked, especially if I hear as much from reviews or a friend's opinion and so on. Doesn't mean i'm indentured to following the series. I liked Spyro, I liked Crash Bandicoot, I liked FE:A but I haven't picked up anything else from the series. Even Pokemon I haven't gone out of my way to play everything just because it's pokemon. Same goes for the digimon games.
  13. i hope the focus in DR3 doesn't switch to the second class.

I think it's switching to Junko/Mukuro and their interactions with the 77th class.

  18. Name: Jorgen Von Bashfist Race: . Cyborg/Human Class: Warrior Primary Weapon: When in doubt, heavy metal limbs are great. Backup Weapon: Custom Spaz-12 shotgun fitted to use armour piercing rounds. After all, what's the point of a shotgun if it has less stopping power than your fists? Appearance: Almost every visible part of Jorgen is made of a dark grey alloy with the exception of his face which is left looking fairly human. The only robotic portions are his jaw and his mechanical eye. The skin is pale and sickly, indicative of his condition immediately before becoming a cyborg. The top of his head is completely bald. His remaining eye is a forest green colour. The rest of his body is covered in a green tank top, military khakis and military boots. The buckle on his belt has the symbol of a large yellow star. Physically he's built like, well not a brick shit-house but, you know, a giant robotic man. He's big. Personality Overview: Jorgen didn't come out of his modifications quiiiiiite right. He has a fairly aggressive personality due to a lot of unresolved anger. Aside from one attempt at a yoga class, he hasn't tried to change that and neither have the people overseeing him. His aggression gets him into situations good for testing his capabilities. That said if he decides he likes you, which isn't really hard as he is kind of gullible, then he's likely to kill you with a spine crushing hug. He doesn't do things by halves. Skill Level Overview: Jorgen's bionic limbs are capable of ridiculous amounts of strength. His legs can reach up to 100 feet with one jump. This length strength transfers into faster speed than normal but if he gets running you will hear it with his weight. He could go higher but doing so risks damage coming down. His arms can lift roughly 400kg and his grip can crush a basketball sized chunk of rock and heavily damage a similar chunk of iron. His robotic eye also affords him help towards visual calculations and enabling precise strikes and movement. He is also incredibly durable, being made mainly of metal. His skull has been reinforced by the same metal as his limbs but it's nowhere near as strong as his limbs. It just means if he has to go through a wall head first, he kinda can. He just shreds the skin which is nasty as hell. Backstory: James Weissman was a soldier for the Human army during his normal lifetime. He'd always worked towards it with the full knowledge that he'd probably die. He went through training and several tours with that knowledge. It was fine for him because he had the same reason that encouraged a good chunk of the volunteers to fight. He had someone to protect. So he fought with bravery and skill to make sure he did that. His eight year old brother Alan Weissman waited with his grandparents to see his brothers face again when he returned. Instead, he saw a terrifying face, half metal, half a sickly drawn version of his brother. He had been turned into a cyborg. It had turned out that James's unit had been hit with a nasty explosive set off remotely by enemy forces. James had been in the rear and so least vulnerable to the blast. It was the only reason he had survived long enough for help to arrive. He had spent ages waiting with his team mates, watching them die one by one as their own injuries took them. He had been brought back to base in critical condition and a choice had been made. They had the technology. It had taken some time to return to fight. James refused to go until he reconnected with his brother. After a few months, he came back and he had a new name. Jorgen Von Bashfist. ((Pretty light on details, I'd rather not outline literally everything here and now))
