Ok, I'm sorry, I think I'm done with RPing. I'm sorry, this topic is just a catch all to alert all the people involved in RPs I'm in. Every time an RP starts now it feels like a cycle. Interesting concept pops up, make a different character, if sometimes generic, wait for the intro to pass... wait for the intro to pass... wait... hang on, what made this interesting again? Oh, I have to get a post out. I still have to get a post ou- Oh, things have moved to to the point where I can't make that post ok. Well, I'll read this post and adju- what the fuck why is there a text wall here to describe 2 important things happening, do we need this much description and insight into why a character looked at their pokemon? Great well, let's slog through thi- oh life, ok, I'll get back to this tomorrow. Next day, more text walls, boom, I'm left behind, confused because everyone seems to be up to speed and whilst I'm trying to catch up lo and behold 2 more pages of text appear. Rinse, repeat Every so often this cycle is broken up by a troublemaker in the forums who grinds my gears a little. Too rarely does it feel like I am able to make a compelling, interesting post. It's so frustrating, it makes the exercise of posting more stressful and boring than fun or even interesting. The only thing keeping me here is a feeling of obligation and to be frank, I'm done. I'm quitting all my current RPs, Deiville is being dropped, my only writing now is going to be independent, if ever. I'm sorry if this is an inconvenience but I'm putting a bullet in the horses brain on this.

Seeing as Jory came to me confused about the hostility and the fact is was meant to chronologically before Jason arrived, I nixed the post altogether, hoping to let things go the way things go and move on. Then the battles started, life got a hold of me in the meantime and boom, the situation where I couldn't really get into the battles and now being confused about the situation at large.

Ok, uh, what do I do with Katie and Roy? I don't really want to throw her in the middle of an already ongoing battle for the second time in a row and I don't know if there are, like, other Patrat hanging around to fight? The situation is kinda hazy right now to me outside of the battles.

No, you're working with what you signed up with in terms of powers in this RP. Any other combat advantages have to be garnered elsewhere. Part of the reason I'm urging some of you to rethink your characters so you have more well rounded capabilities with your characters or to hold back the full scope of your powers usage, so you can develop your skills by honing them instead of adding onto them. My line of thinking is that if you did "evolve" your powers it'd give you too much of an advantage once you know the other main players capabilities, after all why not just evolve your power to counter the big bad more effectively? I'm certainly not going to pick your powers for you after all. Also, it's not going to be a particularly long RP that would require that kind of augmentation to keep combat fresh and interesting and, in the end, I want the story to be consistent and I don't trust myself personally to not abuse that idea with other characters if I feel they're underpowered because I overestimated my own ideas.

Ragnar, biggest thing wrong with that power is that magic, or something perceived to be magic, might exist as a result of powers but magic cannot have created powers. Otherwise I like it, although I'd prefer that rather than simply having prowess with weapons as a result of powers it comes from actual experience using those weapons. It just makes more sense.
