that is the exact reason why I don't like them. other than haruhi and maybe one or two more shows, they only focus on cute girls, fanservice and recycle a bunch of ideas, rather than writing a decent show. I enjoy laid back series which you can watch without thinking that much about them in depth, but watching a bunch of cute little anime girls pissing around for no reason isn't "enjoyable" to me, especially if the comedy is bad. as for erased, I haven't had the time to watch the first episode yet but I have very high expectations. a volume per episode seems brutally rushed, but that really depends on how the dialogue is done and how much pages each chapter has. furthermore, a-1 pictures is famous for butchering shounens and condensing about 100 chapters worth of story into two cours. still, somehow, some of their adaptations don't turn out that bad and remain relatively consistent (magi, nanatsu no taizai). script writer is also experienced in properly adapting manga (shounen manga, if that counts), so i don't think they'll fuck this up. i hope so, at least. ah, btw, the show isn't necessarily mystery, just seems to me like a mature psychological/seinen, but you should be ok either way. also, not sure if anyone else has noticed yet, but thursdays/fridays are looking pretty fucking amazing to me.

why is kyoani a popular studio again? ah yes. couldnt care for the generic show. still gonna watch this only for those 10/10 boobs physics. other than this, the only other show that already aired an episode is prince of stride, i think. honestly, the only thing currently stopping me from continuing that show is that i can already see the amount of generic friendship/nakama bullshit coming, which is so common on sports anime. and the fact that tumblr and the retarded fangirls who watch it only for the hot dudes will most likely ruin the show as they have been doing with every popular sports anime in existence. except for free. free was ruined to being with. the original one's quality is better, so you'll be pleasantly surprised once the first episode comes out :]. don't watch this unless you've played the games it originates from, muv luv and muv luv alternative. the spin-offs are average, but alternative is a fucking masterpiece. more a-1 pictures shounen ln garbage, sure why not. no offense to good a-1 pictures novel adaptations tho, such as shinsekai yori.

divine gate might end up being pretty average, considering it's a game adaptation and studio pierrot is doing it. still gonna watch it just to have an excuse to listen to this awesome opening every single week.

MAN WTF IS UP WITH 2016? BERSERK ANIME ADAPTATION MIGHT JUST BE A THING TOO. http://berserk-anime.com/ edit: inb4 spice and wolf III becomes a thing too. my poor memes, they're all dying.

Still found nothing that could answer that question, but I will guess a continuation. Then again, there was a poster where the art style was very different and since the manga is far from over, it could be a remake. Either way, I'm excited to see this. Also read somewhere that it's scheduled to air on fall.

IT'S. FUCKING. HAPPENING. Just when I thought 2016 couldn't be a better year, oml.

Surprised this hasn't been created yet. So what did you guys think? I found it pretty good. It was somewhat similar to the original trilogy, but the nostalgia I felt while watching this was too real ESPECIALLY WHEN CHEWIE AND HAN MADE THEIR APPEARANCE. At first I thought BB8 would be a shitty R2D2 knock-off, but he turned out to be even cooler than either R2D2 or C3PO XD. The scenes where he pulled out that taser sold me for him. Also, the minor comedy relief moments weren't cheeky like the original movies, which was pretty nice. Now, onto the actual plot.

"god what a pussy, you need to be a real man like ja'far I SWEAR TO GOD IMA FLASH YOU WITH THE PROOF i don't want to see ur dick ja'far GOD FUCKING DAMN IT" also purpleeyeswtf = abridgment lord

First and foremost, if you've never seen this, get out. You're not welcome here bruh. Now, onto the actual thread. Abridged series are basically fandubs where the original script is altered in order to turn even the most serious shows into ridiculously fucking amazing comedies. And they're one of the reasons why I'm so glad anime exists. Some days ago, I was hanging out with some friends and one of them mentioned the code ment soup clip and how he found it so funny. Since then, I started rewatching a bunch of abridged classics and even found new ones that are just as funny as those. Needless to say, all I come across on my youtube front page now is this. Here are some of my favorite abridged anime: Also, this one shouldn't even classify as an abridged series because it's an official english dub. However, the script for this was just so fucking well done, and to me, it's one of the funniest comedies of all time. It is godlike and perfect in every single way and stands above every single abridged series that has been made. Ghost Stories Dub. I'm leaving some of the best parts here so that you can witness how godly this shit is, but please watch the anime episodes instead, it's two cours of pure greatness. Feel free to share any abridged series you enjoyed. Any fandub that you think applies to this, even if short, is welcome here.

it's more a kyoukai no kanata type of kyoani show, action/supernatural. it's called musaigen no phantom world. man, every single time kyoani or pa works does some sort of anime set in school or with supernatural elements, i just refuse to get hyped for it. every time i do, they turn out to be so much worse than they seemed to be, and by the end of it, it's just another show that combines a bunch of cliches/ideas already seen before in anime with terrible execution. that said, i will expect just that from musaigen no phantom world and haruchika. it's just unlikely they'll actually be good, at best they might be decent. not worth getting hyped about and then experiencing disappointment. edit: also the female lead has big bouncy tattas. i dont know why i thought that would be relevant.

prison school only gets crazier on the next arc, believe me. and i dont know if shingeki no bahamut's second season will also air in 2016, but i doubt it because studio mappa usually doesnt release many titles per year (1-2 on average) and they're already doing the manaria friends spin off, so yeah.
-
DAMN IT SOMEONE BEAT ME TO IT so far 2016 is looking pretty amazing, might be one of the best years we've had in a while. not sure if there's any confirmed date for this yet, but if it does air in 2016, then it'll be joining this already awesome list: - shingeki no kyojin season 2 - nanatsu no taizai season 2 - magi: sinbad no boukuen (magi spin off) - shingeki no bahamut: manaria friends (shingeki no bahamut spin off series) - ass class season 2 - kizumonogatari and koyomimonogatari - erased (boku dake ga inai machi) - boku no hero academia (not yet confirmed, but i could see it airing on fall 2016) edit: confirmed for spring 2016 - steins;gate 0 (not confirmed either) - durarara final cour - phoenix wright - persona 5 - kiznaiver (studio trigger) - sousei no omnyouji (binbougami ga author) - mob psycho 100 (one punch man author) - arslan senki season 2 - dimension w (darker than black author) - gate 2nd cour - akagami no shirayuki-hime 2nd cour - jojo these are probably not gonna be as good, but i'm still interested in seeing how they turn out: - terra formars 2nd season - schwarzesmarken (muv-luv alternative spin off series) - big order (mirai nikki author) - rewrite - ajin now all we need is prison school season 2 and index III. jc staff pls make it happen. also rokka no yuusha volume 2 adaptation
-
this guy knows it. i also recommend boku no hero academia, shokugeki no souma and three more recent ones that don't have much chapters available yet, but are already doing pretty good: - smokin' parade (deadman wonderland authors) - platinum end (death note authors) - kyokou suirui (zetsuen no tempest authors)

on other news, a danganronpa anime sequel was announced correct me if im wrong, but i dont think it's related to any of the games. interested to see how this turns out.
-
same stance here. the original anime was alright and even the movie sequel took an interesting twist, rather than just being a cash grab sequel that doesn't add much to the original story (looking at you steins;gate movie). however, from this small teaser, it doesn't seem to me like it's going to be any decent. urobuchi is pretty good at what he does, but when it comes to sequels, he doesn't seem to give a shit about anything as long as they dont have a proper ending (looking at you psycho-pass 2/movie).
