Ain't nobody strong or weak gonna hax me in this theme tour. I've made a few Serperior teams, and I'm in to win it. EDIT: Never mind. I might not make it since it's going to be on a Sunday. Didn't read carefully. What's with these random sunday tours??

I won't be signing up as a tutor, but I'll be able to help anyone who needs anything if any of our current tutors are not available. I'm a pretty damn good teambuilder as well. Alts: Qᴜᴇᴇɴ Eʟsᴀ / Rᴇɪɢɴɪᴛᴇᴅ'Light / Destructive Skitty

Hi guys. I love how the Onyx Trainer School is filled with meaningful posts. However, I want to stress this point across. Checks and Counters are two different things. Counters are Pokemon that can always beat X mon, no matter the situation. (Unless said counter has 1 HP and faints to entry hazards or a incoming attack) Latias is a counter to Keldeo, as it can come in against Keldeo, take any attack due to its strong special bulk (Even a Icy wind) and retaliate with a Psyshock. Checks are Pokemon that can beat X mon, but are NOT able to switch in against X mon. Talonflame is a check to Keldeo, as it can destroy Keldeo with a priority Brave Bird. It is not a counter, because it will not be able to switch in againat a Scald or Hydro Pump. So before posting, please try using calcs and potential moves that X pokemon can use before determining what is a 'counter'. Keep up the great posts people!

Woops. Technically, Latios is a transformer if it is the Mega Evolution for the team. :] -

Yeah. It's not as powerful as the Life Orb version, but the upside is that it doesn't take recoil when it attacks lol. -

Reignited'Light replied to Raindrop Valkyrie's topic in Pokémon Fan Club
Team looks pretty good! I might change Ferrothorn for a Bisharp. I think Ferrothorn would hold you back. I don't think you need a tank is necessary for this team at all. Bisharp @ Dread Plate Ability: Defiant EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe Adamant Nature - Sucker Punch - Iron Head - Knock Off - Pursuit Maybe with this change, you can run Gothitelle instead of Clefable. Gothitelle @ Choice Specs Ability: Shadow Tag EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Timid Nature - Trick - Psychic - Energy Ball - Hidden Power [Fire] Bisharp gets rid of items with Landorus. Gothitelle traps pink shit like other Clefable and Chansey with the aid of Volt-Turn. Oh yeah, team is destroyed by Zard Y. Hope that your opponent chokes and sacks it to Landorus or Manectric. -

LOL NICE AND POWERFUL Clearly the best one. y/y -
Kam, you're so dumb. Just stop it now LOL

I could make it Explosion. I just don't want to risk using Explosion on a ghost type switch in. Like I said, U-turn is for momentum with Raikou and Jirachi if I really need Landorus. I gave it Scarf so it can outspeed many threats such as a Mega Metagross. I can Fire Punch it and fish for burns, get the fast U-turn against Latias and Latios. I also get off a Healing Wish as fast as possible. Frustration cause Lopunny doesn't show mercy.

Come and Get it! By DestructiveSkitty This is one of my best ORAS OU teams. Not even exaggerating. There are some holes and weaknesses, but you got a somewhat good amount of switches before a pokemon dies. This team puts so much pressure from the start, that the opponent shouldn't have time to even set up. Strategy is so simple. Set up Rocks with Landorus-Therian, and nuke the opponent until they have zero mons to sack. Landorus-Therian (M) @ Focus Sash Ability: Intimidate EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Jolly Nature - Stealth Rock - Earthquake - Stone Edge - U-turn Lead with Lando, set up Stealth Rocks, then the plays sink in. If you need Landorus, just U-turn out of there. Otherwise, sack landorus,so one of the guys can come in safely. Keldeo-Resolute @ Life Orb Ability: Justified EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Timid Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Hydro Pump - Calm Mind - Secret Sword - Icy Wind Keldeo is the guy who is just a absolute most on powerhouse teams. This team is no exception. Sweep teams with a Calm Mind, then spam STAB moves. If you're about to die, use Icy Wind so something can outspeed it to revenge kill. Latios (M) @ Life Orb Ability: Levitate EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Timid Nature - Draco Meteor - Psyshock - Hidden Power [Fire] - Defog Latios is something I added in case I get destroyed by those Hazards on my field. Offensive teams usually don't care about hazards, but I'm so paranoid about them. Plus, It's such a great mon to abuse Draco with. Give it HP Fire and Psyshock, than boom. Good coverage besides hitting Heatran. Raikou @ Choice Specs Ability: Pressure EVs: 32 HP / 252 SpA / 224 Spe Timid Nature - Volt Switch - Thunderbolt - Hidden Power [ice] - Shadow Ball Raikou can form the Volt-Turn core with my Landorus and Jirachi if I need it. With Choice Specs, nothing is going to take STAB Thunderbolts. Besides Ground and Grass though. I got my whole team for those types though. Easy. Hidden Power Ice is pretty much a must, and Shadow Ball for stuff like Metagross/Ground types when I don't risk the HP Ice/Electric move misprediction. Good offensive synergy with Keldeo. Jirachi @ Choice Scarf Ability: Serene Grace EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Jolly Nature - Iron Head - Fire Punch - U-turn - Healing Wish Scarf Jirachi is so good with this team. I can revenge kill any Latios/Latias. Also gets momentum for my team, gets potential burns, and the fairy killer. It's niche also let's me pass a Healing Wish for one of my heavy attackers to do more damage a second time. Lopunny (F) @ Lopunnite Ability: Limber Happiness: 0 EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Jolly Nature - Fake Out - Frustration - High Jump Kick - Ice Punch Finally, the mega that is so damn fast. With it's unresisted STAB Combo due to its ability Scrappy, nothing is going to switch in for free against this monster. Lopunny cleans up when everyone of my other team members have done their part in the battle zone. Conclusion: This team is meant to throw powerful attacks constantly. No time to do anything else. I could say this team is a bit Talonflame weak? You can replace Keldeo with a Manaphy to somewhat remedy the issue I guess. Then again, it's not like you should switch in Manaphy on a Talonflame anways. Have fun with the team, leave any suggestions. Yeah. Importable: http://hastebin.com/raw/awohugoban.md

[[: OU SHOWCASE WITH DESTRUCTIVE SKITTY :]] Pokemon of the week is... Viability in OU: A Rank- Mega Latias is one of those Megas that could have been a bit better; however, with the new defensive boosts if got from its mega, Latias is one of the bulkiest Megas. In addition, it got a new move in Stored Power, which, when combined with a relevant boost in Special Attack, makes a sweep from Mega Latias very possible and very easy to set up with. It beats many top tier threats such as Keldeo and Rotom-Wash. Its new bulk and offensive presence will be tough to break. Moveset Latias-Mega (F) @ Latiasite Ability: Levitate EVs: 232 HP / 100 Def / 176 Spe Bold Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Substitute - Calm Mind - Recover - Stored Power/Dragon Pulse The moves attempt to give Latias a chance to sweep late game. Substitute protects you from status, makes prediction easier, and behind a Substitute, Latias can switch out from Pursuit trappers like Tyranitar without losing a chunk of health. Calm Mind boosts your Special Attack and Special Defense to insane amounts of power; It makes the sweep happen. Recover is always needed, as Latias has no way of recovering the damage from Substitutes/attacks otherwise. Stored Power is the spammable move once you reach plenty of boosts. Dragon Pulse is also a option if you rather hit Dark types better instead. Set Details The EVs are to help you outspeed as many threats as possible. It outspeeds base 100 neutral Pokemon such as Modest Charizard Y. 232 HP and 100 Defense EVs give you as much defensive power as possible, making it so that you can set up on Wish Pass Jirachi; it cannot break your Substitutes in one hit. Max speed+Timid is not recommended because you will lose a significant amount of Defense. Another option of EVs are 232 HP / 180 Def / 96 Spe if you do not need to outspeed base 100 neutral pokemon. This EV spread outspeeds Max Speed Timid Heatran and Adamant Excadrill with max speed and lower. Usage Tips Thanks to its good bulk and many resistances, it is able to set up on the majority of the tier. It beats every single Calm Mind user barring any Dark types, as this set is countered by them. Setting up Calm Minds as much as you can behind a Substitute is your key to success. If the opponent has any Dark types on the team, it is best to wait until late game to sweep. Mega Latias generally fits on Bulky Offense and Balanced teams, as it needs support for it to function well. Team Options You must be able to clear all of the Dark types before attempting to sweep with this set. Keldeo and Cobalion are excellent choices, as they pair extremely well with Mega Latias. They can threaten said Dark types due to Justified and Fighting STAB, and get some nice damage on the opposing team to ease Mega Latias's sweep. Plenty of Fairys are also a pain to Mega Latias, as she cannot take Hyper Voices from Sylveon and Gardevoir. One powerful fairy check is Jirachi, who is able to heal up Latias with Wish support. Jirachi and Latias have great defensive synergy. Hazards are appreciated so Mega Latias can clean up better. There are plenty of entry hazard users such as Stealth Rock Heatran and Spikes Ferrothorn, who also pair well with Latias. It is best to set up hazards as soon as the game starts, so the opponent is pressured with hazard stacking. Toxic Spikes are also appreciated as Latias can stall Pokemon out with Substitute and Recover. Other Sets One can also opt for a 1. Draco Meteor/Psyshock/Healing Wish/Defog or a more defensive approach 2.Draco Meteor/Psyshock/Roost/Defog However, Set #1 gets outclassed by regular Latias. The Mega boosts are not worth the absence of Life Orb's power. Set #2 misses Leftovers recovery. Regular Latias is usually the best outside of the Late game sweeper set.

Happy birthday bro. I never really talked to you that often, but you're a badass from what I can see. :]] -
Might as well :]]

It still doesn't change the fact that you would have to sack something to bring in Rotom-Wash. Unless you're predicting the Meteor Mash or something. And Metagross can opt for Thunderpunch as well if Skarmory/Slowbro/BulkyWater are a pain. Of course, no one really runs Thunderpunch on Metagross. It just depends on who you are pairing Metagross with when you are teambuilding. Having so much coverage at its disposal is scary. Greninja will always be a bigger problem since it has so much speed and gets STAB every time it uses a move. Nothing switches into Greninja safely. The same can be said for Mega Metagross. You would pretty much have to scout the entire set of Metagross before bringing in the true "check or counter". I don't find that healthy for the OU metagame. While Mega Metagross being banned or not is debatable, it still definitely deserves a suspect.
-
You would usually have to sack something on your team to even bring Rotom-Wash in safely. Unless you're praying to the RNG gods that Zen Headbutt misses or get the low damage roll or something.Which is a pretty bad trade off imo. Quagsire and Mega Gyara die to Grass Knot and Hammer Arm respectively. Quagsire can not hope to stall out Metagross for long, and Gyara has no reliable recovery to heal off the damage that Mega Metagross has done. 252 Atk Tough Claws Mega Metagross Hammer Arm vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Mega Gyarados: 292-344 (88.2 - 103.9%) -- 25% chance to OHKO 0 SpA Tough Claws Mega Metagross Grass Knot (80 BP) vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Quagsire: 452-532 (114.7 - 135%) -- guaranteed OHKO So you still have to be careful to take out Metagross. It's not so easy to stop with that ridiculous Tough Claws ability. While most people do not run Hammer Arm, it is a entirely possible move for Metagross to utilize effectively. Mega Metagross is so unpredictable. The four moveslot syndrome can help make sure you have some sort of check to it, but only a few pokemon can accomplish that.
-
Mega Metagross. (I don't think I saw anyone posted anything about Mega Metagross. So...) It has a wide range of coverage moves just like Greninja. Mega Metagross has a base speed of 110 reaching with Mega Gallade and the Latias/Latios family. So it's pretty damn fast. There are ZERO checks to this monster. Metagross has plenty of coverage moves it can opt to use for the team. The rest of the coverage is with the other 5 pokemon you teamed with it. You can't Intimidate it before it even Mega evolves, so Landorus-Therian is not a good check. It doesn't even OHKO Metagross. 252 Atk Landorus-T Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Mega Metagross: 252-296 (83.7 - 98.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO While Metagross nukes a standard Choice Scarf Landorus with Ice punch even with -1 atk -1 252 Atk Tough Claws Mega Metagross Ice Punch vs. 0 HP / 24 Def Landorus-T: 340-400 (106.5 - 125.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO Mega Metagross is usually paired with four or five other bulky offensive mons. On top of that, most teams run Latias+Mega Metagross so Latias can heal back Metagross with Healing Wish, giving it another chance to nuke your entire team. Mega Metagross is ridiculous. Not every team is going to run Slowbro or Skarmory to "counter" Mega Metagross. Suspect please.
