  1. 1. what's the next 'lil' dan the [whatever]' topic you'd like to see??? I got a dolphin and koala in mind. choose now 2. favorite selena gomez song if you have one? birthday doesn't count 3. do you believe some people never change? 4. why did you decide to sprite and how'd you start?
  2. deciding to close the thread at the end of july (next sunday), so if there's anything you guys want built, just post here! also feel free to message me your own team, so I can critique it, if you guys want. Don't post teams here please
  3. flynite+adamant lop squad. tbh team don't really need that much of an explanation, but you're just weakening mons like medicham and talon, so dragonite can put in work. adamant lop isn't all that great imo since you lose to torn-t, but this is a fun squad. cb azu for the stallbreaking and ice/dark resist. meloetta loses to sableye stall, so I built the team with mega diancie to have a great offensive dual. slap magnezone to remove scizor/ferro for both mons to destroy the opposition's balance. Meloetta+mag gives good voltturn, which is sweet. chesnaught+rh chomp to stop all physical attackers. finally, add starmie to remove any hazards, since chesnaught is passive at times, so you might get hazards that you don't want on your field if they somehow get past diancie. dragon spam is pretty cool. I always was a fan of dragon spam. just need a few fairy checks and some dragon checks of your own to make a solid team. specs kyurem-black tears down defensive chomp/lando, as well as quagsire. most stall teams are reliant on chansey to check kyurem-b, which zard-x handles very nicely. clef for scizor and skarmory that may be threatening early game or mid game.
  4. team breaks stall very easily. even with fast sr heatran on the team, hp fire on voir is mandatory so you don't lose momentum vs scizor trying to switch in heatran against it (MAKE SURE YOU GET THE SCIZOR ON THE SWITCH). everything on team is pretty standard but very effective against majority of the OU meta, god forbid lando-t get weakened, cause lop can sweep endgame if you play recklessely without no plan. mk so idk where this was going, but this is some dumb pinsir balance. pinsir/keldeo sweep endgame. also i gave sr on exca, so you can get rocks past diancie/sableye. lando-t has toxic though, for insurance vs sand team/exca/ground. random chansey on the team for fat wall and to hw pinsir/keldeo/ w/e you really need healthy if they get weakened.
  5. slowking n' haxorus squad. both mons break down defensive teams really well, as well as lure clefable. i turned this team into a mega sableye balance squad figuring it's something you'd probably more comfortable with the playstyle. talonflame for the stallbreaking purposes and stuff. play with caution vs manectric. don't know if this bullshit works, but you trap something with keys so pidgeot can kill, or whoever else can beat the opp. flynite then sweeps teams when you remove steels, which this team does well at.
  6. So the team idea looks great. I suggest flamethrower>fire blast, unless fire blast gets any notable KOs that life orb flamethrower doesn't? not sure, but lure clef seems like a cool idea. I used Mega Latias since it slows down threats for Clefable to pick at them later. Weavile is the Clef/Azu fairy lure with poison jab, so that's nice. Exca and Lando-T further bring down offensive teams and defensive ones, thanks to sd lando-t. The team doesn't do well against flamethrower clef, but I would say having weakened exca is a fair trade for having Clefable out of the game, since Latias and Clef can win after opposing clef is out. alright so it seems like you're trying to get altaria to sweep late game, with the manaphy set you provided. Psychic>Ice Beam, to hit Mega Venusaur harder than Ice Beam. The team is designed to get rid of most altaria checks/counters. Heatran/Ferro/Skarm/bulky steel/poison.... basically, bunch of stuff. Lots of things on this team should catch most of the Altaria counters off guard, like EQ+HP Fire Latios. I even ordered the team it should ideally be used in. (get hazards up with chomp skarm, break walls with manaphy, pick at other threats with latios and weavile, then sweep with altaria) Team just needs weakened chomp/lando-t and random fat balance so toxicroak can put in decent work. Zam helps break down walls as well so toxicroak can clean up well. Coba Keldeo lures talon so it doesn't 6-0. Torn-t helps the team from being completely demolished by something like Scarf EQ users. Missing is annoying, but can't really do anything about that. Regardless, this is a pretty solid team. Be careful of Manectric, although Zam/Scarf Exca and prolly toxicroak can handle it. Just by merely looking at this team, it's probably one of my better lookin teams here. I changed the EVs and set on Zard, Power Whip Twave>Gyro Tect, Ferrothorn. Also Choice Band Azu so Clefable doesn't breeze through this team. If Clefable is twaved from ferro, it's much easier to break. Sand balance to bluff the zard-y, which is nice. I feel like DD zard-x would be a bit more efficient for this team, so you don't get stopped by Crocune. This team might have trouble against fast electrics if you don't evolve asap. Team has good offensive and defensive synergy tho
  7. well, I've been doing this for quite some time, it's just like second nature to me, that's all, haha. Thanks! EDIT: Teams will be in next post.
  8. so this is like some weird balance going on, but since crocune beats stall 100%, I tried to make the team around something that can beat offense. This team does somewhat poorly vs them, but it's not impossible or anything like that. Team checks majority of threats in ORAS right now. I normally don't run Unaware clef, as I personally think it's pretty garbage, but cleric helps the team a lot in case Goodra or zard get crippled by burn/toxic/twave. bisharp check=zard-x offensive water+electric is great. I used to run raikou/manectric+keldeo a lot in XY and early ORAS. I added Lopunny to beat threats like bisharp and weavile. chomp+skarm for great defensive coverage which each other. finally, latias is here to defog hazards that may get out of control, if spikes+sr is on your side of the field. watch out for opposing raikou/manectric and weavile, although they can be played around. FWG offense core. added keldeo to revenge kill lots of stuff (tbh scarf keldeo is pretty shit, but it's mandatory so you're not relying on sand rush/talon to revenge kill everything like lopunny/manectric) lando-t rh set so you don't get swept by any exca or lop turn 1. t-tar is choice band to break stall which talon/keldeo have trouble doing (with their particular sets). Excadrill is great for spin/lati check/electric immunity. You can probably go use sub leech seed set on this team instead of hp ground, since the team can handle heatran quite easily, imo. couldn't really find an appropriate mega for the team, not like it's a necessity anyway.
  9. fighting spam is pretty cool. only lando-t is the real check to it, which terrakion can weaken for lop. tbh I'd go power-up punch instead of ice punch lopunny, just so you're more threatening and able to break walls as well. since ice punch really only hits... chomp and lando-t, which both can cripple you in some way (rocky helmet+skin or intimidate prevents ohko with ice punch). either move is ok tho. I would also go quick attack>rock slide on terrakion, just so you can get some priority damage vs things like mega zam.
  10. gameplan: click hurricane as they click x next turn when they hit themselves roflllllllll knock off spam is pretty cool with bisharp/weavile, so yeah. Choice Scarf Lati so you have some way to beat something annoying like, idk, clef. oh and it revenges zam/lop/manectric/sceptile, just fast mons in general. team is pretty well balanced, although flamethrower clef can be a huge problem. Trick Latios usually does the job. If it's not flamethrower clef, it's twave or something that isn't hitting ferrothorn, so you just use your own twave and click iron head against it. try to get a knock off on clef with lando-t, if possible, without taking too much from moonblast. be wary of surprise ice beam sets. offense team lookin pretty heat, altho I would go for stallbreak hydreigon >scarf hydreigon, not like it matters. just personal preference. zor / hydreigon/ lando-t / jirachi just click u-turn for days and send in the appropriate god vs the matchup (manaphy or voir). if you face venusaur team, keep gardevoir and jirachi alive at all costs. no 'reliable' bisharp switch ins, although it's not setting up on anything unless you somehow lock yourself into flash cannon with zone. toxicroak checks keldeo nicely and is a great partner for magnezone. it lures in defensive rh chomp and lando-t when they click ice punch. protect zam so mons like lopunny and medicham can't use fake out for 300 damage at zam's wet paper defenses... I was originally gonna drop focus blast on zam to keep shadow ball since we remove steel types, but some people just love to use tyranitar and bank on the focus blast miss, as a means to beat mega zam lol. I would go for shadow ball, but either move is good.
  11. Ok, finished the teams from the above posts. I got lazy with my explanations at the end-ish of this post, so if there's something you don't understand, just PM me please and I'll try to reply as soon as I can! I originally had stuff like sd no spin exca+scarf keldeo with hp electric to beat offense, but then it would leave you really annoyed by stuff like Tangrowth/Amoonguss bulky offense cores, so I decided to forgo exca for klefki+clefable so you aren't clicking x vs sableye. somewhat weak to specs keldeo/volcanion, then again, it's hard to switch anything in vs one, except lati/slowbro or king, which loses to pursuit trap / weavile anyway. I figured you rather be able to break the bulky offense cores and stall teams than break offense teams slightly better. I tweaked the Tyranitar EVs slightly, so you can outspeed uninvested Heatran or something before it sets up rocks / lava plume burn you. If Sableye hasn't evolved yet, it's a huge threat, cause Azumarill can't switch in safely. Otherwise, this team is pretty good at breaking stall. HP Fire and Fire Punch Lati/Jirachi, so scizor can't setup on you, although it might beat latias if +2 max adamant. everything else is pretty standard. if vs quagsire and you got Metagross in, don't use grass knot right away, so you can lure it later. bluff it so you have an easier time. cool core thing, although the Bisharp is annoying regardless. slap Keldeo for the check vs it. Mega Latias does well for this team, since it's the thundurus check and all. Jirachi is just for wishpassing into Keldeo and stuff, also a pivot/gardevoir and diancie counter. the emboar FWG core team. just hit what's in front of you and you're good. against stall, lead Emboar and Flare Blitz. Idk about toxic stallbreak gyara. The set I have is taunt/scald, but feel free to use toxic>taunt if you want, although weak to stuff like crocune w/o taunt. didn't really know what to do with this set, so I made stall team for this. Gastrodon is the Keldeo counter, so if gastrodon faints and there's a keldeo, just click x.
  12. Summer teambuilding workshop, haha. 1. Teambuilding for OU only. (mons can be whatever tier they're in though) 2. List the set or core as an importable. Also, please be something fun/unique. Also helps if you have an explanation for the requested set/ core. 3. I may or may not build a team, if the core or set is too common to build around. I'm not saying post some jesus-like innovation or anything, but nothing common, please. I'll start on requests tonight!
  13. Thanks! Yeah, you can bluff a specs or scarf set, which can change how the opponent plays. I chose Mega Alakazam because of its high speed tier. Only loses to pokemon who reaches 293 speed and has either a Choice Scarf or +1 speed boost in some form, like Dragon Dance. Speed ties with other Mega Alakazam (which I don't rely on, I just go Klefki or take a hit with Latios, probably Bisharp plays too). Mega Aerodactyl also speed ties with it, but not like I'm staying in, unless I know it's the Pursuit set and can kill it first. I chose Stone Edge as my default move just so I can always OHKO AV Torn-T after Stealth Rock damage. Rock Slide can't. Not like Torn-T is a problem for this team, but it can be annoying just by using knock off and u-turning whenever it wants. I see the uses of Rock Slide, though, like the accuracy won't mess me up against setup sweepers that might win the game if I miss, like, Lum Berry Volcarona or Swords Dance Talonflame, if I'm extremely unlucky. With Fairy Lock, if used just at the right time, I can trap an annoying pokemon and remove it from the game. For example, if I use Fairy Lock the turn any Garchomp / Lando-T / Hippowdon, uses Earthquake to finish Klefki, I can bring in one of my checks to said mon against it to defeat it, so Bisharp has an easier time to sweep. Clefable is always annoying, but like you said, I do 2HKO with Alakazam, as well as Bisharp being annoying for it just by using Iron Head. I used Smack Down Lando-T before. It's pretty cool, but I'd probably only use it if I was running a more pivot set with U-Turn, instead of Swords Dance. Just because I can't always get a Swords Dance up, I do feel like the power in Stone Edge is much more efficient that hitting things with Earthquake later. Thanks for the feedback everyone!!!
  14. Drag Me Down RMT: by Reignited'Light https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jwgf3wmiA04 Hey everyone! I haven't done an RMT in a long time, and with ORAS slowly coming to an end with the release of Sun and Moon, I thought I should post one of my best ORAS teams that I've built. I've been laddering with the team, too. So, let's get right on it! Preview of team: Mega Alakazam is a fantastic revenge killer and doesn't often need to setup to win. Lando-T so I can have something that is a ground check+SR user+talon check. Keldeo is on the team so I have a reliable Bisharp/Weavile check, as well as something to handle Sableye with. Bisharp for late game sweeper, as well as another Sableye check. Klefki supports the team from being dunked by Draco Meteor's, particularly from Latios. Latios is my stallbreaker and primary Scald switchin. Ladder rank: Team in detail: drag me down (Alakazam-Mega) (M) @ Alakazite Ability: Magic Guard EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Timid Nature IVs: 0 Atk / 30 SpA / 30 Spe - Psychic - Shadow Ball - Focus Blast - Hidden Power [Fire] Mega Alakazam is so good. With fantastic speed and Trace, it makes for a fantastic revenge killer and offense destroyer. Psychic / Shadow Ball / Focus Blast, are moves that I absolutely need for revenge killing purposes and great coverage. The last slot, I experimented with this for a bit, from fantastic support moves like Taunt and Encore, to other offensive moves that hits dark types reliably(Focus Blast isn't always reliable) like Dazzling Gleam and Signal Beam. However, I've decided to go for Hidden Power Fire. It catches Mega and regular Scizor off guard, thinking they are able to switch in safely to tank one of my other coverage moves, them they get smacked by Hidden Power Fire and they faint. This move also hits Ferrothorn for massive damage. fire for a heart (Landorus-Therian) @ Rocky Helmet Ability: Intimidate EVs: 248 HP / 172 Def / 88 Spe Jolly Nature - Stealth Rock - Earthquake - Stone Edge - Swords Dance Lando-T is really great on this team. It checks Talonflame and other Lando-t thanks to Swords Dance, as well as checking Excadrill, which Mold Breaker Excadrill can just click Earthquake, otherwise. Swords Dance helps breaks stuff like Sableye-Mega if I need it to, just in case they're predicting SR, while I hit them with a powered up Earthquake! river for a soul (Keldeo) @ Coba Berry Ability: Justified EVs: 16 Def / 240 SpA / 252 Spe Timid Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Rest - Scald - Secret Sword - Sleep Talk Weavile / Scizor / Bisharp check. What's really nice about this Keldeo is that it can 'lure' Talonflame and Mega Pinsir, in the sense that, I can tank whatever flying move they throw at me, then retaliate with a Scald. Scald doesn't kill Mega Pinsir, but it does beat Talonflame. Coba Berry has saved me tons of times. shell of a man (Bisharp) (M) @ Lum Berry Ability: Defiant EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Jolly Nature - Swords Dance - Knock Off - Iron Head - Sucker Punch Late game sweeper. Nothing much to it. This pokemon is skill-less as it can get. Literally just click Swords Dance or click Knock Off vs setup sweepers so no 50/50 shenanigans happen. Of course, it all depends on the situation, but I'd never play safe with Bisharp cause I find that too predictable, but again, it depends on the situation. all these lights (Klefki) @ Leftovers Ability: Prankster EVs: 248 HP / 248 SpD / 12 Spe Calm Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Spikes - Thunder Wave - Fairy Lock - Flash Cannon One of the best partners for Mega Alakazam. Thunder Wave support as well as Spikes spam leads to success for Alakazam to sweep teams. Also my Fairy check, beating Diancie and Gardevoir. Fairy Lock traps tons of stuff like Mega Diancie (if I lead with Klefki as they lead Diancie trying to get off a Protect...) and Starmie. with your love (Latios) @ Life Orb Ability: Levitate EVs: 32 HP / 224 SpA / 252 Spe Timid Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Draco Meteor - Psyshock - Calm Mind - Roost Stallbreaker for the team and the Keldeo and Scald switchin. Calm Mind is mandatory, otherwise I have zero ways to break down full stall. It's also nice to setup on Keldeo or Calm Mind Manaphy. It can sorta take on Assault Vest Tornadus-T as well as Mega Venusaur and Suicune. Threats: - If Calm Mind, go Bisharp and Swords Dance, then follow with Iron Head spam or fish with burn on Keldeo. Latios might be able to win against it, too. If Utility Knock Off/Foul Play, again, fish for burn with Keldeo's Scald. Bisharp can sorta deal with it, but not vs Foul Play variants. +- SkarmChomp balance is probably the most annoying thing for this team. Keldeo should annoy them+hazard spam. Bisharp can then sweep up later. - Thunder Wave Thundurus is very annoying. Only Alakazam and Latios really check it. If it's Defiant set, it's a bit easier, although if I get lured, I might lose something in the process. For Defiant Thundurus, Alakazam / Klefki / Bisharp, can check it. - No switchins to this thing. Chip its health with Lando-T Rocky Helmet+Hazards. Latios/Bisharp/Alakazam can revenge kill it, too. - Hard to switchin against this thing, but if Alakazam is already Mega'd, it beats it. Latios also wins. Bisharp can win if I switch in vs Intimidate. This can be played around. - If it's defensive Excadrill, it'll be much more of a challenge to beat, since I can't just drop Draco Meteor's with Latios vs if it was a Choice Scarf variant. Choice Scarf variants are much more easier to break. However if Lando-T is too low or it's dead, the team will have a hard time. Hax- Missing Focus Blasts/Draco Meteors costed me so much games. Stone Edge misses are also annoying. Luck happens at the most unfortunate times. Importable: Huge shoutout to Kamina for testing this team with me!
  15. Alright, this post has been long due. There are LOTS of people that I do really appreciate for things, but this list is probably gonna only be a select few people, maybe. I might just continue on and on... Anyway, here's the song that I've been listening to while writing this! Appreciation List
  16. http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/reborn-ou-62784 got unlucky with the dark pulse flinch against Jirachi (had Moonblast on it). Oh well. gg! Gonna quit nations now. Not because I lost, but because I can't be bothered to build for these kinds of challenges anymore. I'll speak to my nation about a new leader, if possible. GG Everybody!
  17. wtf, it's obviously a piplup/dragonite, one of those two
  18. mega sets that probably aren't in the ou factory.
  19. just have this on your team(s) and win 100% EZ against stall
