Oh, alright then. Thanks By the way, I think something goes wrong if a status kills something. Twice so far, poisoned Hoothoot set my Ekans to sleep; both times poison killed it, and both times, after Hoothoot fainted, I had an extra turn despite the there being nothing to fight against. Also, the woman at the request board doesn't inform you of the right quest. I took the Loveletter one first and she's talking about a little girl who lost her Pokemon. Speaking of that quest, Cameron says "Tell him I said yes"

By the way, do things with 3 possible abilities get their 3rd? I've come across a few Run Away Oddish but no Prankster Murkrow (playing 4.3 btw) Oh, and can someone list off all available TMs please? Don't need the locations, just what they are.

He said Cotton Candies, a.k.a. purchasable Revives. But yeah, when they come around, you'll find me in the Department Store, buying up their entire stock

How's this? Toxicroak Poison Touch Jolly, Max Attack and Defense EVs Bulk Up Poison Jab Drain Punch Sucker Punch If you set up, you win, and it's not even that difficult to do so. Unlike most set-upers that buff one of their defenses, there's absolutely no reason to worry about special attacker coming in and raining on your parade due to Sucker Punch. Then there's Drain Punch as a healing STAB. Dry Skin is neat, but Poison Touch gives you a 10% chance to poison with any attack that isn't Poison Jab; that one has a 44% chance to do so. But, looking at what we've got already, I'd say get a Tynamo. Now that an Iron Tail tutor exists, Eelektross Coil set is actually really really good. And having no weakness is always awesome. Eelektross Levitate Sassy/Careful, Max HP and Special Defense Coil Iron Tail/Brick Break/Bounce/Crunch You can run any of those 4 moves as you last 3, but I like IT, BB and Bounce the best, since that makes the most out of the accuracy boost, the added effects are nice and it's great coverage, resisted only by a handful of Electric types, but those can't do anything back to you. But thing is, you don't have to think about countering your weaknesses with this thing, so you can run any of those 4 moves. EVs are in Sp.Def since Coil is already boosting your Attack and Defense to very high levels, it's just so you can take a hit from a special attacker without difficulty and OHKO it in return. And yeah, the Dubious Disc is in the Glitch City I believe. Though I don't think you need it, it's really not that great in Reborn, the only attacks it gets that are worth mentioning are it's STAB Tri Attack and Discharge and you've already got enough Electric attacks even without it on your team.

First off, you'd benefit hugely from going back to pre-E13 for moves. My pinned guide in this section explains everything you need to know about breeding for moves including the exact process how to get these moves, but feel free to send me a PM if you have any question So that I can recommend the best possible, I'll assume you will do so with my recommendations here. Welp, here we go! Durant Hustle Jolly, Max Attack and Speed EVs Hone Claws Rock Slide Iron Head X-Scissor Essentially 190 Speed due to Hustle, Hone Claws to buff that even more and remove accuracy issues, great physical defense and Steel typing that lets you set up on anything baring Fire-typed attackers. Speaking of Fire, don't worry about it, this thing swept even Charlotte. For items, go with a boosting item, Steel Plate or something. Or Wide Lens (found on wild Yanma (20% chance of them holding on if you have a Compound Eyes user in the first slot, even if it's fainted) since at +1 accuracy, Rock Slide doesn't have perfect accuracy (it's like 95%)). Ninetales Drought Timid, Max Speed and Special Attack EVs Flamethrower Energy Ball Nasty Plot Hidden Power Ground/Rock Sun boosted STAB Flamethrower hurts. To the point that that alone justifies it's use, but it also gets Nasty Plot and great coverage. It also works really well with the next member... For items, Heat Rock to prolong sunlight, both for itself and for the next member... Heliolisk Solar Power Timid, Max Speed and Special Attack EVs Thunderbolt Grass Knot Hidden Power Ice Dark Pulse As if this thing didn't hit hard enough, it gets Solar Power and we get Ninetales. Surf seems tempting, but HP Ice is superior; same power (cuz Sunlight weakens Water-typed attacks but not Ice-typed attacks, so they both have 90 BP) but Ice is much better coverage. Gourgeist Frisk Impish, Max Health and Defense EVs Leech Seed Will-o-Wisp Phantom Force Protect Now, from the last three, you can already tell I'm not one for stall. Good thing this thing isn't stall (technically). Will-o-Wisp weakens any physical attack so it does next to nothing, Leech Seed heals off all that nothing done to you, WoW and LS together take 1/4th of the foe's health each turn, Phantom Force is a strong STAB but more importantly it and Protect together make you invulnerable while your statuses do damage; your foe loses 3 quarters of their health just to hit you once with an attack that won't do anything.... just, uh, don't get too close to special attackers, but even underleveled, this thing soloed Solaris Garchomp on the Volcano and that still wasn't the most impressive thing it's done. This thing exists to make fun of any physical attacker (sure does fit it's Pokemon Y Dex entry, except for the hugging) For items, you can dig up a link for E9 somewhere and find wild Munchlax on trees in the Wasteland for Leftovers, the best item for this thing by far, I can probably dig up a link somewhere if you want it? Staraptor Reckless Jolly, Max Attack and Speed Double-Edge Brave Bird Close Combat Endeavor Simple, destructive stuff. Bring it in, pick the appropriate move, Endeavor once recoil damage racks up. Many people don't really like recoil moves in-game, but it's definitely worth it. Archeops Defeatist *sigh* Jolly, Max Speed and Attack Earthquake Rock Slide Acrobatics Dragon Claw *sigh* yes, Defeatist. Fortunately, that's about the only thing preventing Archeops from doing work. For the last move, having Dragon coverage will really come in handy when Sapphira comes around, but you can also go for Endeavor since Defeatist doesn't decrease Speed. For items, some boosting items when you don't need Acrobatics or nothing. Also, stack up on some Flying Gems in the Obsidia Department Store since Acrobatics gets the no-item boost even with a Flying Gem on. Gengar Levitate Timid, Max Speed and Special Attack Shadow Ball Sludge Bomb Thunderbolt Destiny Bond Attack or use Destiny Bond in unfortunate match-ups or as a last resort which Gengar can pull of well due to it's high Speed. Empoleon Torrent Modest, Max Special Attack, 80 Speed, rest into Health Scald Ice Beam Grass Knot Agility Set up Agility to outspeed the world (80 Speed EVs to outspeed 110 bases after Agility) and abuse that 111 base Special Attack. For items, Leftovers are pretty good on it considering it's huge defenses. Nidoking Sheer Force Modest/Timid, Max Speed and Special Attack Sludge Wave Earth Power Thunderbolt/Flamethrower Ice Beam I was thinking Mamoswine at first, but this thing hits even harder, especially if you get it a Life Orb since Sheer Force negates LO recoil (still don't get how, leave it to Game Freak to make nonsensical decision) and it has way better coverage. It doesn't have a priority move, but that's the only thing it's inferior in and priority isn't even that necessary in-game. For items, Life Orb obviously. Honchkrow Moxie Adamant, Max Attack and Health Tailwind Night Slash Drill Peck Sucker Punch After Tailwind, even without investment you'll outspeed almost everything so you might as well put EVs into Health for longevity. It's simple to use. Weaken the foe, set Tailwind, get even more Moxie boosts via STABs, Sucker Punch to keep the sweep going once Tailwind is out. For items, give it a Scope Lens so that Night Slash crits 50% of the time. Aaaaaand there's that. 5 of the first 6 are part of my 8-member rotation and 4-0 was the worst I did in any battle. Regarding items, except for Ninetales and Nidoking, boosting items such as Miracle Seed or the Plates work as well. Once again, if you need any help with breeding the moves in pre-E13, just send me a PM. Welp, there you go, hope this helps you out somewhat

Toxic Orb Quick Feet Ursaring with Facade (game corner) isn't bad. Swellow does the same, but better since it can actually afford to run Guts. Curse Snorlax is pretty great, Porygon-Z is always nice to have, every one who's fought Noel knows how annoyingly good Cincinno can be, same goes for Staraptor (well, he no longer has it) and Heliolisk is stronger than you'd think. I'd really not recommend using Tauros since it's movepool is atrocious. If you use it though, Sheer Force and Life Orb is it's best set, but still, it's better to just skip it.
-
Yeah, Emolga is not something to take into late game. DD Charizard is pretty good. Also, if you're not running Tailwind on Braviary, Staraptor is superior in every way. There's also no need to run Mantine, it sucks. You can go for Honchkrow, Nasty Plot Crobat, Toxic Orb Guts Swellow or maybe Yanmega.
-
Well, there's nothing special about it, really. I think one or two Pokemon were moved, but you'd already have access to those if you have E10. So unless it's just for a collection, you're good to go.
-
Nope

I had like...6 or 7 re-runs I believe, dunno for sure since I started at E9. I apparently often get to the point where a team kinda starts to bore me and/or I think of something I'd like to use, but it doesn't fit into my team, so I make a new one around it and wanna see how it would fare against everything in the game I already beat......yeah. I have some decent amount of free time. About challenge runs, I did 3. I got bored of a Fire Mono at around Shade, but brought a Poison Mono to victory against Samson back in E12 and lost the save sorta-soon afterwards. Also completed a Grass Mono in E14. Never have nor will do Nuzlockes, I really don't like limiting my playstyle that much and leaving things to luck too much. One crit and your best member is forever out? Nope, not doing that.
-
Can confirm, new players are also unable to catch stuff. Though it seems reloading might work? I was unable to catch anything the first time, reset and was fine, reset another 7 times and wasn't able to catch anything for those 7.
-
^^Yup, learns Rock Slide via level-up. Speaking of breeding moves, instead of Earth Power, you can get EQ if you go back to pre-E13, my guide in this section can help with that.
-
Out of those who are leaders in the game, Corey. Simply because of his story, how perfectly it was presented to us and what we can find via this. His gym was also the first problematic one on my first run, it really made me think "Now we're getting serious!" both gameplay- and story-wise. But if we also count Ex-Online-League-Leaders-present-in-the-game-as-not-leaders, for me, Dr. Connal wins by a landslide. Not only did I find his doubles Discharge+Abilities fighting style brilliant, I also found this, which made me see his character in an entirely new light.
-
^^Agreed though there already are some even better Water types
-
All shiny rates in Reborn are the same, you're as likely to get one from hatching as you are from encountering stuff in the wild iirc. And yeah, it's upped in Reborn, 700/65536 as opposed to the 8/65536 in the cannon games.
-
This is reeeeeeally early for a Team Showcase section. Too early. Especially since you only have 2 things that should really be kept for late-game. And saying you'll do something with Eevee is also not much to go own. Welp, for the 2 you could keep, Serperior is best with Leaf Storm, Giga Drain, Wring Out and HP Fire and Slurpuff is best with Unburden with Play Rough, Belly Drum, Return and something, but Slurpuff is really not that great in-game. For Eevee, all Eelevution but Sylveon are bad in Reborn, the next best being Jolteon and even that one is decent at best. Sylveon is best off with Pixilate with Trump Card, Moonblast, and Hidden Power Fire/Light Screen/Shadow Ball. Other than that...yeah, best come back after 10 or so gym battles and post in the pinned Help Thread if you have trouble along the way.
-
Yeah, but that's not really what it's about. Take a look at other topics here. People show their teams late into the game (mostly at the end of the current episode) or they post about the team they plan to have. At the point of the game you are now, your team at the end of the current episode could be absolutely anything, there's no way for people to give proper advice right now. Just go through the game, post in the Help Thread pinned in this guide and come back at least 10 gyms later I guess. Or if you have a final team in mind, I can work with that right now, but please do look at the other topics in this section and post that possible final team like that.
-
That is an argument, but it's not even 15% weaker than Fire Blast while the accuracy is way more important. And yeah, I meant mostly for doubles, but also for battles where you likely won't be able to live 2 hits. If I may ask, what for? Everything Water hits super-effectively is much more physically defensive than specially, so a special attacker would be more effective. I'd really recommend you grab a Seismitoad since it's currently the only usable thing with both Poison- and Water-typed attacks. Nonetheless, here you are, all physical Water types I consider viable in Reborn: Kingler- Agility is a must. It's like a Honckrow, the only thing preventing sweeps is it's Speed. Use Archeops for both Rock Slide and Agility. Swampert- Curse is the way to go. Waterfall, EQ, Avalanche, Curse is IMO the best set. Crawdaunt- DD. Nuff said, I guess. Huntail- Currently the best physical Water type in the game IMO. Unlike all other Shell Smashers, it doesn't have that sucky Rock typing while still having great physical defense and it's special defense is actually considerable unlike something like Carracosta. Azumarill Poison Jab is a Heart Scale move for Gliscor, so you can just wait for that. Or if you don't want to wait (and this one was such a pain to figure out), Nincada>Spinarak>Dwebble>Gligar gets you, Rock Slide, Poison Jab and Dig. Yes, Dig. About the same power as EQ (the slight damage drop doesn't matter since you can just Swords Dance it up) and it gets you a free turn for extra Poison Heal health. Dude, you have a Florges! And you can make that Scrafty Specially Defensive nature- and EV-wise since Gourgeist can handle any (non-Fire since they can't be burned) physical attacker while also doing tons of passive damage, you kill any foe in effectively 1 turn after both statuses since you have that invincibility combo in Protect and PF. Trust me, this Gourgeist is a monster. The chain is just Yamask>Pumpkaboo since Yamask gets both Protect and Will-o by level-up. 80 EVs=20 points. After 2 DDs, uninvested Scrafty has 430-ish attack. With 80 EVs, that'd be 470-ish, not even 10% more. Just max it's bulk. Special Bulk, since you'll have a freaking Gourgeist. It gets usable attacking moves from 15 types, it's one of my favorites of all time! Yeah, that'd probably be better actually since you can just set up on physical attackers either way, might as well have some extra Special Defense since Special Attackers can likely outspeed you. They won't hit you more than once, but yeah. Careful is probably it's best nature then. Azumarill and Carbink are the only things you'd get coverage on with Solar Beam, your STABs would be stronger on just about everything else. Not to mention that Sunny Day boosts Fire attacks by less than Nasty Plot and Dark attacks by nothing. Just swap Sludge Bomb for Destiny Bomb and you're good to go. Thing is, you'd die. Even if you pile all you can into physical attack, physical Steel-type attacks are almost guaranteed to 2HKO you. Steel is a rarer type, so you're generally fine setting up, but having a counter to Steel on something slow and weak to it, is no good. Reuniclus is IMO the best. There's also, Bronzong, Exeggutor, Gardevoir, Dusknoir, Cofagrigus, Gothitelle, Chandelure and Malamar.

Oh hey, I still remember your last team topic here, that one was pretty sweet. Seems like you're getting the hang of this stuff now. Well, let's see what we can do here! Stack up on those Normal Gems, like a few dozens of those. There's no reason not to spam Boomburst, like what else is money useful for in-game right now? About the rest of the set, can't do much better. I despise Fire Blast's accuracy and we do have that Flamethrower TM, so.......you decide. The power drop is hardly noticeable, and a little less damage is better than no damage because of misses. Still don't get why an inflated fish has such a great movepool. Ah well. Considering it's main use in comp is hazard-setting, which is unnecessary in-game...that's about as good a Qwilfish as Qwilfish can get, but it's still a Qwilfish. It has decent defense due to Intimidate and decent attack, but you might wanna consider switching it out for something? Sure, you can keep it, whatever floats your weird balloon fish goat, but, for example, Seismitoad and Dragalge also have strong Water- and Poison-typed attacks. They are a slower, but have it beat in all other regards. If those don't interest you, we can also figure something else, what should a replacement have? Acrobatics really won't be good for it when it's a Gliscor. Instead, how about Stone Edge/Rock Slide? Rock and Ground together have perfect coverage on all but Torterra, Virizion and Breloom, but if you just set up properly, they should be no problem. Again, I prefer the more accurate move, but that one's up to you again. SD is just fine. For the last move, both Poison Jab and Knock Off work. Looks like what you're going for with this set is more of a defensive set? If you want something bulky yet incredibly damaging, Gourgeist does it waaaaay better. Leech Seed, Will-o-Wisp, Phantom Force, Protect annihilates any and all physical attackers. Also, you can just dump all EVs into Defense and Health since Leech Seed and Will-o-Wisp together take 1/4th of the foes health every turn and the combination of both Protect and PF make you invulnerable every 2 out of 3 turns and Will-o weakness the hits you'd take when you actually can be hit, which'll happen once, since the foe will lose (and partially give you) 75% of their health just to hit you once. This thing soloed Solaris' Garchomp without difficulty and was able to do the same against any other physical attacker, including a good chunk of Luna's line-up. The only thing Trevenant really beats this thing in is physical attack, but damage is no issue with this thing due to the statuses. With EVs and nature, you might as well maximize bulk. DD will get you to outspeed everything anyways and both DD and Moxie will get your attack stat through the roof, might as well go all-out on the bulk to make setting up that much easier. I'd go for Impish and max HP and Defense EVs. Ah, Eelektross, one of my favorite Pokemon of all time. Wish we had an Expert Belt somewhere, it's like Eelektross was made for that item. Though Reborn makes that matter not as much because the thing it's god-tier in, it's movepool, is so limited in Reborn! If you want to keep your current set (sorta), due to it's low Speed, Charge Beam's buffs are inferior to Acid Spray's drops since they have much more of an immediate effect and it also lets another special attacker come in and clean up if Eelektross is downed. But I think you should consider a Coil set. Now that an Iron Tail tutor exists in 7th Street, it's actually really really good. Any combination of Bounce (30% para chance), Iron Tail, Brick Break and Crunch works really well, but I like BB, IT and Bounce the most. Uh, then also Defense EVs are much better than Health ones, since Coil is more effective in that case. Make this thing's Ability Unnerve, we won't be seeing too many Fire-typed attacks I don't think, unless they're STAB, in which case you might as well just use your other STAB. As for Sludge Bomb, I did think it didn't really get anything terribly useful, but did you know this thing gets Destiny Bond? Yeah, me neither, I just looked that up. The chain is either Qwilfish>Inkay>Delibird>Houndo or just Smeargle>Houndo. It's got some pretty good Speed and Sludge Bomb really doesn't do much for your coverage anyways, so there's that. Go with Energy Ball or Grass Knot instead of Flash. Not much this thing can run. You could also consider throwing a Trick Roomer in there, but if you go for Coil Eelektross, you'd be fine without it- or rather, you wouldn't be as dependent on it.
-
Well, if you're using it as a revenge killer, wouldn't Retaliate be better? I mean hey, 140 BP STAB. ...dammit, Sheer Force does affect Flame Charge, I forgot. Welp, you can still just go back for Rock Slide or Dig in place of Headbutt then. Yup, meant Dragon Claw. The main issue of Bounce is it's accuracy, but not only can a Wide Lens give it like 94%-ish accuracy, you don't really have a better item either. Also, dude, STAB, Gyarados is gonna love that, especially since it's its' only Flying type move for some reason? GG Game Freak.
-
Speed and Special Attack are the only things that matter on a Greninja and 21 is pretty good since it's defenses are pitiful anyways. The difference between 21 and max IVs is only a pathetic 10 points at level 100.
-
Eh, it's just one extra point. On things with even defenses, xe could put 'em in Sp.Def for any stray Porygon-Z with Download, but other than that, who cares.
-
Well, both Nature and Ability can be changed post-9th gym. Might wanna bench him till then, then see if it's worth it?
-
Aaaaand now I'm curious. PM me nao Heathen! Just kidding, but breeding for some TM moves is something quite a few people do and there's no real way to remove the difficulty from Reborn, is there? You can make things just a bit easier. TMs will also likely be as available as they were so far: very few and far between. The decision to remove TM-breeding also wasn't really made by the people her, it was just to keep thing sup to date with Game Freaks brilliant idea. Welp, I'll keep that in mind and just recommend both things you can get only now and the time-travel variant. Before all else, I'll say that agree I with the all-out physical stuff, I ran a few of those throughout Reborn and you're perfectly fine, no real need for special attackers. Moving onto the team, you....have a Durant. And a Darmanitan. Well, first off, I like you that's really good, but you can do better. For Slaking, Yawn is really bad. Sleep only lasts 1-3 turns and Truant makes sleep almost pointless. There's Body Slam and it's great para chance from breeding or Crush claw and the defense-drops instead of Strength, Punishment is better than Night Slash due to the huge potential power (check the move out, it's pretty sweet). Or you can run Scope Lens, Slash and Night Slash for the 50% crit chances, but Scope Lens only for NS isn't worth it. To be honest, it's Curse set is it's best set IMO. Curse, Body Slam, Hammer Arm, Punishment. Slaking has great defenses, it can afford the time to set up just fine. ---To be honestly honest, the pre-E13 Bulk Up set is even better. Bulk Up, Retaliate/Crush Claw/Slash, Shadow Claw/Night Slash, EQ/Brick Break is great. With both the Bulk Up set and the Curse set, Defense investment is the way to go, since 100 base Speed is decent enough as is, and defense investment will make Curse and Bulk Up all the more worth it. You can go back to pre-E13 to get Rock Slide/Stone Edge and Dig onto this thing as well as Flame Charge to boost that kinda-sucky Speed stat. It's Speed is still pretty good though, so the new Endeavor tutor can be useful to you. Also, ditch Headbutt. Even if it's 4x resisted, with a Charcoal, STAB and Sheer Force, it still has 70 BP, meaning that even worst-case scenario (which is only against Kingdra), Headbutt is equal in power. I also dunno about double Fire STAB, but if it's to avoid the recoil, then that works I guess. Post-E12 doesn't give this thing much else anyways. Crunch has redundant coverage since Psychic- and Ghost-types have and will be incredibly rare post-Radomus. Instead, having an SE hit against Dragon-types will definitely come in handy later on. U-Turn is also a great move in comp, but it's unneeded in-game. Endeavor is a good move for Archeops since Defeatist doesn't reduce Speed. Pre-E13 also gets you EQ for perfect coverage. Oh, and stack up on some Flying Gems, since they don't interfere with Acrobatics no-held-items boost. Go to Agate later and give this thing it's only possible Flying-type STAB, Bounce, from the tutor instead of Crunch (same coverage argument as above. it also does way more and can para). Also, go Yanma hunting on Azurine Island. Wild ones can carry Wide Lens (with a 20% chance if you lead with something with Compound Eyes, even if that CE-er is fainted), boosting all moves accuracy by 10% (which Bounce really needs). And yeah, give it Waterfall instead of Aqua Tail, the high flinch-chance and the DD boosts really go well together. I also don't think Speed EVs are necessary whatsoever. DD will make you outspeed everything anyways, some health investment will come in handy much more. With Moxie, you can also maybe switch natures too. Don't need no Headbutt. Get Ice Punch via Hitmonchan>Buneary>Scra. Same DD and Moxie arguments as above. Nuff said, I guess. Why not Dig over Bug Bite? You already have X-Scissor, BB does nothing for you. Alsoooooo, Hone Claws Durant is by far better than the regular variant, believe me. Pre-E13 gets you both HC and Rock Slide. To be honest, Venusaur is worthless without at least Sludge Bomb from pre-E13. There definitely won't be any really good moves for Greninja for a while, especially since Ame recently showed discontent with people picking Greninja and Blaziken all the damn time. It's still good, but it's far from peak condition if you don't get stuff like Ice Beam for it from pre-E13. As for Eevee...don't bother. Unlike comp, stally-supporty things really aren't that good, especially since they have their movepools limited in Reborn. Same goes for all Eeveelutions except for Sylveon, which actually has access to a 390 BP nuke useable only really in Reborn. I'd also not really advise running Medicham. Despite it's ability, it's too slow and frail. I guess if you also added a Galvantula or Leavanny with Sticky Web, it could work, but without any support...yeah.
