  1. Yeah, I can't really use more than one Quiver Dance because there really are no good chances to buff. Then again, Lucario is really the only one that might outspeed Venomoth and I plan to use Skuntank's Flamethrower/Toxicroak's Revenge on that one. Toxicroak and Skuntank (possibly Drapion) will really be the ones that take home the victory, I think. I'm also planning on taking a Nidoqueen. It's got more bulky than Nidoking, and can learn Superpower via heart scale as opposed to Nidoking's Megahorn which would be my third Pokemon with bug moves. Nidoking extra power hardly matters with Sheer Force, which is perfect for it's moveset.
  2. The first one is from the newest Blazblue game, whhich oddly enough has better animation than the actually anime, despite being done by the same studio.
  3. Plenty of ROMhacks/RPGmaker games let you talk in some way. Hell,Pokemon Snakewood makes you talk just as muchas any other character in the game.
  4. ........now that was easy. Way too easy. Shade's entire team was swept by Venomoth! Skorupi set (unnecessary) Toxic Spikes and died to Rotom in 3 hits, just as planned. Then, Venomoth used Sleep Powder and 6 Quiver Dances to get to max Sp.Atk, Sp.Def and Speed. It took a while because Rotom kept using Thunder Wave and Confuse Ray, but we got the full buff. And the sweep began. Only Chandelure, the second foe, took 2 hits. Alternating between Psybeam and Bug Buzz swept the entire gym no-prob. Man, I can't wait until Kiki! Until then, here's what I've got!: Venomoth Lv 39 Tinted Lens Modest Sleep Powder Psybeam Quiver Dance Bug Buzz Skorupi Lv 35 Battle Armor Impish Toxic Spikes Poison Fang Venoshock Bug Bite Arbok Lv 37 Intimidate Lonely Screech Glare Crunch Ice Fang Skuntank Lv 39 Aftermath Timid Flamethrower Rock Smash Acid Spray Screech Samurott Battle Armor Jolly Razor Shell Revenge Grass Knot Mega Horn Toxicroak Lv 37 Dry Skin Gentle Mud Bomb Sucker Punch Revenge Swagger I'm not really satisfied with Toxicroak's and Skorupi's Natures, but I got tired of trying to catch a perfect one, so I settled for whatever wasn't terrible. Actually, Magma Kingpin Maxwell was waaay tougher than Shade, although all my team members were around level 35 when we fought. Vulpix was killed by Toxicroak's Swagger and Sucker Punch/Arbok's Glare and Crunch. Arbok almost defeated Charmeleon, which ended up eliminating Arbok, Venomoth and Skorupi, the latter 2 were neutralized in 1 shot each. Skuntank conquered Charmeleon and used 3 Screeches and 1 Rock Smash to almost put an end to Houndoom. Houndoom was actually banished by Skuntank's Aftermath, so that's like 3000+ XP down the drain This has been smooth sailing so far, though I'm still anxious for Radomus. We'll see when we get there. (I should really stop stopping the playthrough whenever the site is down)
  5. Be glad you weren't encountering Toxicroaks:
  6. Togepi/tic/kiss. The anime made me loathe the thing, the thing made me stop watching the anime at some point. Everyone's treating it like it's presence is the best thing to ever happen to the planet while it never does anything, it's completely worthless.
  7. Ri-ight, Accuracy sucks! Shelly was actually the toughest so far, but my issues with accuracy were the main reason for that. Before I fought her, I used 3 heart scales for Arbok's Ice Fang and Venomoth's Quiver Dance and Bug Buzz. I also used 2 Rare Candies on the level 32 Stunky cause Stunky, unlike it's evolution, sucks. Victoria was also the first victim of a Sleep Powder-Quiver Dance sweep. It was glorious. What I also think is worth mentioning is that my game glitched. I was able to use Rock Smash as soon as I got it. Not that that's a bad thing, I instantly went and got the mining kit and mined some stuff, including a Toxic, Mind and Ground Plate :3 Oh well. And now, the team! Arbok Lv 32 Intimidate Lonely Screech Glare Ice Fang Crunch Skuntank Lv 35 Aftermath Timid Flamethrower Rock Smash Acid Spray Screech Venomoth Lv33 Tinted Lens Modest Sleep Powder Bug Buzz Quiver Dance Psybeam Dewott Lv 34 Shell Armor Adamant Razor Shell Revenge Fury Cutter Aqua Jet Grimer Lv 28 Poison Touch Jolly Mud Bomb Minimize Disable Sludge Bomb and a Skorupi I haven't caught yet. Trubbish is gone cause It's bad. So my strategy for the start of this fight was rather pointless. The idea was to send my level 26 Trubbish to set up TS and get killed, but Dwebble kept using Shell Smash spamming Shell Smash and...it was bad, okay? I reloaded until it killed Trubbish in 2-3 turns, then neutralized it with Dewott's Razor Shell. Her next choice was "Heather" the Yanmega. Intimidate Arbok with Glare made it worthless. Almost killed it with 3 Ice Fangs, but she used a Hyper Potion and when it was almost dead again switched for Scyther. For Scyther, Arbok was a tad too weak, so I swapped it for Grimer. Died in 2 shots and Sludge Bomb did next to nothing. The 15-health-remaining Arbok came in, Intimidated, Ice Fanged for half health and fell. So I brought out Skuntank. Oh, boy Flamethrower 2-shot anything I used it on. Scyther-dead. Yanmega-dead. Wormadam- I was expecting the grass form and thought I'd give Venomoth some time to shine. It was Steel Wormadam. Venomoth missed Sleep Powder 3 times in a row. Venomoth died. Dewott missed Razor Shell (95 base Acc) 3 times in a row. Dewott died. Skuntank came back for revenge, secretly laughing at my stupidity, I'm sure. And then came Volbeat. The only dang thing to get Poisoned by TS. Confusion hax got Skuntank from 120HP to 26HP. Man, is Moonlight annoying. It took 7-8 Flamethrowers to kill it, but we got it done. Aaaaaand that's that. Easy enough if we disregard Accu/Confusion hax. The toughest gym so far. Now, I'm off to catch a Skorupi. I've already put Croagunk in my team instead of Trubbish. Who should I switch out for Skorupi/Drapion? I'd say Grimer, but what do you think?
  8. Yeah the average web score is always the same on this site. All my scores for this test were 35-42%, yet the web average is the same as with everyone else here. And I most definitely agree with Doj, leave these kinds of test to a pro. A professional told me that my IQ was 125, whilst the internet spat out various results from 100 to 140.
  9. Well, the Pokemon could be set to Level 1 with it's very basic moves.
  10. I plan on doing most of that, though Baton Passing is something I won't do. Most members of the team I plan to have will be using Physical attacks, so Quiver Dance would only really help with Speed, me thinks. And my desired set for Venomoth would be Sleep Powder, Psychic, Bug Buzz and Quiver Dance, maybe Sludge Wave, though I doubt it. Maybe breed for Giga Drain. What set would you recommend for Toxicroak? I'm thinking of using Bullet Punch, Wake-up Slap, Sucker Punch and Mud Bomb. Also, Thank you VERY much. I completely forgot about the Railnet Skorupi.
  11. Well, our friend the Gator made me pause the challenge for a bit because I didn't want to go too far. I just gotta go through the cave bellow the Grand Staircase and then I can challenge Shelly. Anways, my current team is: Arbok Lv.30 Intimidate Lonely Screech Glare Acid Crunch Venonat Lv.30(almost) Tinted Lens Modest Sleep Powder Psybeam Stun Spore Leech Life Trubbish Lv.26 Aftermath Naive Sludge Poison Gas Acid Spray Toxic Spikes Dewott Lv.32 Shell Armor Jolly Razor Shell Revenge Fury Cutter Grass Knot Stunky Lv.27 Aftermath Timid Slash Screech Smoke Screen Toxic Grimer Lv.26 Poison Touch Jolly Mud Bomb Minimize Disable Sludge Bomb A team that will se a lot of evolutions before Shade. I actually benched Roselia for now. There's really not much it can do against Corey, Shelly, the orphanage, Cal...might be permanent So far, only the Vs.Taka+ZEL fight and of course the Vs.Corey are worth mentioning. The Vs.Taka+ZEL fight was very short once I got it right. Arbok and Dewott started and ended the fight. Arbok paralysed and Screeched once on Lileep to disable the nasty Confuse Rays and set it up for an easy kill, while Dewott 2-shot Glaceon. Then I let Dewott spam Fury Cutter while Arbok provided Glare and Screech support with an occasional Crunch, so I wiped ZEL out to make it a 2v1 quickly. The weakened Lileep and Tangrowth took one Fury Cutter each(200 base), and just as Chatot switched in, Glare hit it. 2-3 hits from FC and it was gone. Rather easy. The Corey fight was a little different, not as "gimmicky", more of a real fight. Actually, to replace Roselia, I caught an Arbok next to Corey's gym. I expected Crobat to be tough, so another Intimidate/glare user would be a godsend. Dewott had some fair trouble against Trubbish and Grimer. it almost died to them, but it killed 'em. Skuntank was actually the greatest challenge of the gym. Grimer's Mud Bomb somehow hardly left a Scratch on it, Minimize hax failed as well and Trubbish was soon to follow. Thankfully, after 1-2 Screech(es), Arbok's Crunch killed it easily enough, though I still had to heal it. Makes me want a Skuntank all the more now. Croagunk was defeated by Venonat's Psybeam surely enough. And the Crobat. I was expecting it to be really tough, but it was a pushover, really. I switched in the weaker Arbok I caught just before the fight to Intimidate once, use Glare and Screech until it dies. The main and currently only Arbok of my team then 2-shot it. It's no Skuntank. I'll have to wait until Byx-land to get some good Poison types, so I'll stick with this team for a while. Though I will ditch Trubbish after this gym. I'm only keeping it for the T-spikes, which Drapion can learn as well. I'm also planning on getting an Aron for the team addition of a Nidoqueen with Iron Tail.
  12. What worked for me was to give Crobat a Focus Band, keep reloading until it survives a hit so it can use Screech, then send out a Scrafty which can tank a hit and use High Jump Kick with a held Fighting gem. reKt
  13. Only if I can't get past Radomus after 10 tries. And certainly not before Radomus. I'd like to keep the whole "like Cain" thing going the way he was for 95% of the game and would have stayed if not for Radomus' gym's type. But if I'm hopelessly stuck, I guess I'll catch something.
  14. Dewott Lv23 Jolly Shell Armor Tackle Fury Cutter Water Gun Razor Shell Stunky Lv23 Timid Aftermath Slash Screech Smokescreen Poison Gas Trubbish Lv23 Naive Aftermath Sludge Poison Gas Toxic Spikes Acid Spray Arbok Lv22 Lonely Intimidate Screech Glare Poison Sting Crunch Grimer Lv23 Jolly Poison Touch Mud Bomb Minimize Disable Sludge Roselia Lv20 Timid Natural Cure Mega Drain Magical Leaf Leech Seed Stun Spore Ok, Flo-bot was pathetic. Trubbish set up 2 TS layers, then killed Cacnea in 2 Acid Spray uses. I then switched to Grimer who Minimized 3 times, then either used Sludge or healed with Potions (about 6 of 'em). All but Cradily died to it, though Grimer Disabled it's Curse according to plan. After Grimer fainted, Cradily was at 1/3 Health and I sent out Dewott who killed it with 2 Fury Cutters. Laughably easy. Now, the Poison types I could get are Beedril (meh) and Venonat/Venomoth (yay). So do you think should I switch for Venonat? I'm thinking Arbok, but what're your opinions on this?
  15. Hot damn, time to get a Frisk Noibat then.
  16. Alright, just beat Julia with this team: Dewott Lv18 Jolly Shell Armor Tackle Water Sport Water Gun Razor Shell Stunky Lv15 Timid Aftermath Scratch Screech Smokescreen Poison Gas Trubbish Lv12 Naive Aftermath Pound Poison Gas Toxic Spikes Acid Spray Ekans 16 Lonely Intimidate Wrap Glare Poison Sting Bite Trubbish poisoned Helioptile, then set up 2 layers of Toxic Spikes right before fainting. Ekans then handled Helioptile, Voltorb and half of Emolga's health. Emolga was finished by Dewott. Stunky also completely debuffed Electrode's accuracy and Defense which then switched right before my first attack against it ._. Stunky's Scratching and Aftermath Almost killed Blitzle. Dewott then killed it and the by-toxic-almost-killed Electrode with 2 Razor Shells. Although Ekans, Stunky and Trubbish fainted, Dewott got out with full health. Now I'll go friendship-grinding with Budew before I reach Tangrowth.
  17. I'd recommend Water or Grass, though Grass would be tough for Corey, Shelly and Aya. Also, how would I add sprites like those you can see in other monotype threads?
  18. Do they hold them in Reborn? I often use Trubbishes(?) to grind and have yet to see one.
  19. While being bored and at the end of E11, I decided to create another savefile. One which I can use to try a Monotype-challenge as I have seen many of you on the forums have done. However, this is the first time I'm giving myself any extra Challenge/Handycap. And I really like Cain's character, so I'll be copying him. That means, Poison types + Oshawott/Dewott/Samurott. Other than that, the typical rules apply. A Pokemon may only be used if it is or becomes a Posion type. Dual types are allowed. Pokemon used for breeding or item-hunting (Frisk-ers and Thiefes) are also allowed. I'm about to challenge Julia. So What do you think?
  20. I do know, I'm subbed to like 30 people on YT. Still, asking for 18 minutes of our time out of the blue is still...y'know.
  21. The title is what's written next to the attachment button, thus disabling any attachments. I've only noticed this today. Sooo, what now?
  22. Ok, are you really blaming us for not watching an 18 minute video? Also, let's just assume that when someone enters the Region, they get a starter. But they only get that chance once, which is why Victoria is an exception. They could be doing it to attract people who wish to live there and tourists.
  23. I'd say Pyroar is good, but not enough. It's a godsend early, especially for Corey, but it has very bad defenses. There's better ones, such as: Arcanine Nature:Naughty Ability:Intimidate Flare Blitz Outrage Thunder Fang Extreme Speed Great Speed and attacks, decent Defences and health. Flare Blitz for amazing STAB, Outrage vs Dragon types, T.Fang to deal with Water types, and Extreme Speed for the priority If you don't like recoil damage, use Heat Wave OR Ninetails Nature: Modest Ability: Drought Nasty Plot Heat Wave Extrasensory Shadow Ball Nasty Plot is obvious, Heat Wave is better than Flamethrower IMO because it hits both foes in double battles at the cheap price of 5 less base power and 5% less accuracy. Extrasensory and Shadow Ball for some coverage. ...or if there's some way to breed Solar Beam onto it, do that instead of Shadow Ball/Extrasensory.
  24. THIS RIGHT HERE. Although Leavanny's typing is rather unfortunate if we take into account what gyms are currently implemented, it is certainly one of the best in Reborn. Also, I'd go to the Move Tutor to get Screech instead of Slash.
