  1. "Swear my sword? I never sweared my sword per-say, I just vowed to protect the people I care about and those who can't protect themselves. Though I suppose that is swearing your sword in a way." He chuckled to himself for a bit, "As for a name, no. It took me forever to settle on Invoker of Mayhem and you don't want to see the list of the other possible names I've had. Even now I'm lukewarm about it and might change it when something better pops up. I couldn't even imagine coming up with a name for this guy." He holds the wooden blade out in-front of him, examining what wear it has taken. The chip in the wood, the scratches, and even the small singe marks left on it by that mage. How could he even come up with a name for a blade that'll synergize well with the journey it's taken.
  2. "Well you said Blue Lightning uses both Magic and Blade, so I don't see why you can't use a bow and blade." Argos gave a nice smile to the lad, "Many good fighters don't like to fight, there's not shame in that. We take up arms to defend the things we care about. Whether that be family, property or honor. At least, that's how I always saw combat." Argos paused for a moment before he thought of a great idea, "If you're so curious about using your bow in battle we can have a sparring match if you really want to. What do ya say, your bow verses my sword?"
  3. "The Blue Lightning huh..." Magic does sound it'd be fun to use, but he's never touched a tome in his life. Noted though to never use thunder magic, this Flik guy's already got that chosen. What kinda magic could he use? Well snow is super common in the mountains, maybe ice? Oh, but fire could be cool to! Bah, he shouldn't worry about that now though. It's not like he knows the first thing on how to use magic. "So your marksmanship is better than your sword arm huh? Have you ever considered using both in battle? Create your own sort of battle style?" The lad said putting his free hand on his hips while leaning forward.
  4. "H-he thinks I'm... cool. No one ever thinks I'm cool..." Argos was a bit speechless for a moment, "Why yes, I am indeed the swordsman of the allied guard. All folks tremble when they hear the name of... ARGOS THE INVOKER OF MAYHEM!" He draws out his wooden sword from his back and twirls it above his head like a helicopter before having it quickly come to a rest on his shoulder. "...Or at least they will in due time!" "Sooooo, uhhhh, who the heck are you and who's this Flik you were muttering about?."
  5. The cry, that was no ordinary cry, it was a sonorous war cry. Argos, without hesitation, placed his right hand on the grip of his sword that rested on his back. "Awwww yea, didn't even need to seek out an opponent here." When he turned to the source of the cry he was able to see the boy just as he began tumbling down the grassy hill. He couldn't help but snicker at the boy once he stopped rolling. "He's fine Dulcibella, the guy only rolled down the hill." Argos walked towards then squatted down, getting more level with the red-head boy. "Ya know, you should really be more careful with how you swing your sword. Heh, and that shop owner called me green."
  6. "W-what!? I'm not good enough to sell to!?" Argos was piratically fuming out the ears and his arms looked like they were making their own earthquakes. "Grrrrr.... FINE! I don't need you or your metal! Come on Dulcibella, lets get the heck outta here!" Then Dulci spoke up about her getting a new bow. "I don't know Dulcibella, if all shop owners are like this guy I bet they're just gonna bad mouth you before denying you." He did an over exaggerated turn around when he noticed a familiar set of armor. "Oh, hey Michi," The lad gave a friendly wave to his comrade, "When did you get here?"
  7. "N-not ready yet!? Do you know who I am!? I mean it's not that surprising but I am ARGOS THE INVOKER OF MAYHEM! The soon to be best warrior in the land!" He hen heard the smith's last comment. He had forgotten he dragged Dulci with him. His flustered face went back and forth between the two as he arched back wards waving his hands side to side. "W-what!? n-no! Dulcibella and I are just comrades in arms nothing more! Plus, she's more than just 'a women'! Y-you really should really stop objectifying like that!"
  8. "Heh, heh, heh, alright. I wanna see your biggest and bestest sword you got!" The lad spoke to the smith egarly rubbing his hands together, imagining the fine craftsmanship from the village of swordsmen. They have to be the best around right?
  9. Argos got all gitty, they can get new supplies. A NEW SWORD! Alright Argos calm down... aw to hell with that, who cares? He turned to Dulcie with fire in his eyes. "You heard the commander right!? Do you know how many people would kill to get a blade from here!? The books can wait, we got weapon shopping to do! Also I gotta test my metal against someone here at least! Gotta spread the infamy of ARGOS THE INVOKER OF MAYHEM!!! There's no time to waste if we're gonna get all this done, so lets go!" Argos grabbed Dulcie's arm right above her wrist on dragged her along with her and he ran off looking for the sword smith. It was almost like he forgot about yesterday but the events still loom in the back of his mind. However, he doesn't want to make anyone sad or angry by bringing it back up, so he kept silent about it. He could shake this itchy feeling, though, like there was someone or something starring at him. Oh well, who wouldn't want to stare of his awesomeness!?
  10. "T-together? I mean sure I guess... I'm not the best reader in the world but I'll try! I spent more time focusing on training lessons then my scholarly ones if I'm being honest. My mother would force me to sit down and read out loud to her. Something like, as long as you can read you'll half the tools you need to be a good business man. The other half were cunning and wits. Which I think I have the latter, or at least in terms of combat."
  11. "O-oh? Heh heh..." The pink stayed on his face, "Well that's a bit reassuring and I suppose we both should do a bit more history checking about the war huh?" He scartched the back of his head. "I just hope I didn't make anyone too mad at me in there... I suppose I have a knack for getting on people's bad side recently, even when I try to do the exact opposite. Have you ever had that problem? You try to do something nice but it ends up backfiring in someway?"
  12. "I know right. All I've ever had to do all my life was protect Goya Village from bandits. At first I thought, just sending back will be fine but then I heard their stories and something about them resonated with me. It almost felt like they were trapped like me, forced to be imprisoned a casted out just for one reason. Although they probably had it much worse in prison and I don't know much about the war or what happened either. It just felt like they were another version of me." Argos lets out a sigh, "Once that image got into my head I wanted to save them even more. Let them know, while few, there are people in this world that care about them and don't automatically assume they're bad." He tossed another pebble into the river and as it's tiny sploosh he just realized what he said and turned bright pink and jumped out from his own burrow. "Oh... uuuuhhhh... I really just said all that d-didn't I? Sorry for d-dropping all that on you out of the blue, y-you can just forget ab-bout it okay." The boy fumbled over his own words in his embarrassment.
  13. Argos turns back, surprised to see Dulciblella had followed him. Though, I guess it isn't hard to see someone having a bit of a tantrum. "Oh um..... yea. It's hard enough knowing what's happened to them, and I know it's probably the best thing to do but I can't accept it." He throws another pebble into the flowing water and tucks his head more into his legs.
  14. Argos passed through the gates, not noticing Dulcie's presence. He took a short walk to the river back where he plopped himself underneath a tree, grabbing his knees and pulling them towards his chest. He starred at the reflection of the moon and the stary sky in the night river water, letting the sound of the river's flow and the crickets chirp ease his anger. Occasionally he picked up a pebble by his feet and threw it into the river.
  15. "Grrrrnnnn.... this is so wrong..." Argos grummbled while he clenched his fist. He wanted to say more, he wanted to save them from their life of torment. But he couldn't, unless he wanted to turn against his own comrades. Maybe even some of the folks he killed trying to get to their commander could have been saved too. If only he was faster or stronger or... GAH! The boy begrudgingly stomps away. "I'm going for a walk! I'll be back later!" He then heads out the village to what seems like the direction of the nearby river.
  16. "No...." Agros couldn't believe this. He can't stand this, he won't stand this! If he doesn't speak up now he could never forgive himself. "Johanna, please! We can at least try to reason with the village leaders! Even if just the girl it's better than nothing, dammit!" Argos tried to keep his compsure when talking to his commanding officer but his passion and fury over took him. His face grew a few shades redder as he continued. "Are we REALLY going to execute a deaf girl tonight!? Was THIS what the allied guard was created to do!?"
  17. Jade kept his focus on the source of the noise, glaring for any sense of movement. Once the swarm approached them he tried to find the head hancho, which low and behold, made himself very apparent. He drew his revolver, deftly swapping the ammo in his gun for his Cryogenic Bullets. He fires straight for the mask of the Silver Scorpion, time to see if he can blast it off. Jade starts with Cryo Ammo Jade fires off Ace of Spades' Basic attack that deals (2d6+26)*1.5 damage and inflicts -2 Init with a 26% chance to crit and deal triple damage Dodge chance: 28%
  18. "How exactly are they responsible for the deaths of the villagers here? Is it guilty by association? If I were to kill an innocent villager right now would all of you go to jail with me? If we were ordered to kill these villagers yet some of us refused, would those who refused also be guilty of that crime as well or would they be guilty of disobeying a commanding officer? This talk of them killing the villagers is nonsense when there is none of the village blood on their hands! The blame rest with the officer that gave the orders, who's now lying dead in the dirt mind you. THAT'S who should be imprisoned, not his subordinates. You can't imprison a dead man though so now you place his sentence onto these people as a way ease your anger but that isn't helping anyone. You are placing the blame of others, who they had no control over, onto them and THAT'S justice? This is only making their living more hellish than it's already been. I wouldn't stand to see everyone here sent to jail for not abiding by malicious orders, so why would I let it happen to these folks?" Argos kept his stance firm and didn't yield. He crossed his arms glaring at the red head.
  19. "You see, I agree with everything you say Ceridwen but I just can't accept it. It would be just to kill them or send them back to prison, I'm not saying it isn't. However, was it just for them to be imprisoned for fighting on the wrong side? Was it just for their lives to be thrown away in a jail cell for fighting under an opposing banner? They probably have family and loved ones who they just want to see again but we deny them any chance because of the one choice they made that just so happened to be the wrong one. If that's just please explain to me why but there's no way in hell that it's right." He loosens his grip on his headband, his mind finally started to make sense of what's his issue. The sureness in his voice returned as well as his conviction. "What I'm trying trying to say is there's a difference between doing something for justice and doing something thats right. Our justice demands we bring them back into jail and on the other side their justice demands that they can be free from their unfair imprisonment. How many years do you think they were stuck in there? I bet from their point of view, justice demands even more so for their suffering. If I was to keep someone imprisoned in my basement they'd have my head for sure. So then who's justice is right? Are either of them right? If I loved our justice so much I should've off'd myself a long time ago since apparently my existence is an injustice. However, that isn't happening anytime time soon.. So is just to let them go? Absolutely not. Is it right? Hell if I know but I won't blindly follow and become a dog to their justice. I've decided to fight for what I believe is right and at this moment I don't feel it's right to send them back to their deaths."
  20. Moral dilemmas was not something Argos thought he'd have to be dealing with when he wanted to join the Allied guard. The lad a a whirlpool of emotions swirling around inside him and he doesn't know what to do. I suppose the only thing he can do is to just let it all out. "Look everyone, I honestly am really conflicted about this. I-.... I want to let them go. My heart is telling me they all deserve a second chance. Sure they might have fought on the loosing side of war but when I put myself in their shoes I wouldn't want to be jailed for fighting in the Allied Guard if goddess forbid we are defeated. They were desperate... and... I get a bit angry when I don't eat for a long time during the day so I can't imagine what it feels like to be starving. I probably wouldn't be able to think straight, I knew there was food or water somewhere of course I'd try my best to get it, I'd be dead either way. S-so a lot of their choices would make sense if they were that desperate even blinding rushing in and... killing people like Ceridwen said. Please don't hate me for saying this, but I really feel we should let them go..." He pauses for a bit then continues, "But then I start thinking more about it and my mind keeps telling me they should pay for what they did to this town. Their allies killed two innocents so they should be thrown back into jail right? But they weren't the ones swinging theirs weapons at them. If we were ordered to do something similar and we did what we were ordered, would we get thrown in jail? If we were to reject what would the leaders say too? I doubt they just let us refuse to go do it without punishment. So maybe it was just a loose-loose scenario. Plus what are we gonna tell everyone when we get back? Are we gonna tell them some fled? Lie and say we killed them and if we bring them back aren't they just gonna die in prison anyways? When I keep thinking through this my mind just goes in circles. I just don't know what to do... I don't... It was so easy for me fight others during battle because I was defending someone else... but now I just can't imagine killing these guys... Who am I protecting by killing them when they've given up?" Argos placed both his hands on his forehead, grasping his headband. He head shook lightly back and forth
  21. "Nice catch there Knight, just make sure to keep it up." Baldur took a slight jab at the horseman before following behind him. Baldur moves to K4
  22. "I mean I would consider letting you all go but you did attack this village... maybe we can send them to a.. better... nicer.... prison? Do those exist? I don't think we should kill them though, or at least if they'd rather die I don't want to be their executioner."
  23. "I mean I don't expect prison to be all rainbows and sunshine but what exactly happened in there to make you all want to leave this badly? Well, besides the fact that it is indeed a prison." Argos doesn't really know what he expects from this question. If anything they could just embellish the truth making it seem worse than it actually is.
  24. Argos hadn't really been paying attention to past few things that had been happening. Apparently they were victorious. They're also in the town now, neato but is he really worthy of being here? For once he's just kinda kept quite, blindly following along with the group. His mind lost in his own thoughts before he suddenly pulled himself out of his mind to hear them start talking about what to do with the prisoners. "Well, it's not like they've gone anywhere. Let's go right now and ask."
  25. Jade nodded his head along with Cicivexa, drawing out Ace from his holster, "Aye, y'all best prepare yourselves. Can't say how many of them are there but I can definitely hear a large swarm of bugs up ahead. Knowing the Makuta I don't suppose this lot will be friendly either."
