Hello and good luck. That's kind of how I won the first time with a strategy in mind of course.
-
I'm starting to wish I studied programming before game design based on your post. Well nice to meet ya. I like a chat every now and then so maybe we can talk about game design at some point.
-
I like how you always seem to have your stuff together and organized like this. Battle frontier left me with scars in Emerald. I've got no problem with the battle dome, arena, factory, and even the pike sort of but everything else no so much. Cartridges will fly if hear the phrase the Battle Palace returns. I don't really like how mega evolutions work right now so I'd like to see some changes done with that unless they decide to bring us another large cast of mega evolutions then maybe we'll see a larger variety of teams. It'd be nice to see if the story were to expand a bit like with our meetings with Wally and May/Brendan. But I can't shake the feeling that this is just going to be a remake of the same old Ruby/Saphire with more pokemon and extra features like some new match call system. It is interesting though.

I can see bisharp or pawniard being added. I mean it kind of has circus colors with the red and yellow but what do I know I'm just going by a screenshot.

I'm starting to wonder if I placed this topic in the right place. I mean I do refer to Reborn quite a lot but I this topic is also suppose to be open to discussion about the canon series too. Should it have been placed in the Fanclub section? I hope I'm not mixing things up around here. From what I've noticed it seems to help most players a bit too much by giving a whole party experience. It's one of those items that benefits you so well that players most likely wouldn't want to turn it off even if you knock it down to 25%. I think that's why most people don't seem to like it because there isn't much of a downside to it except for players reaching the level cap too soon which in turn speeds up the playthrough for most people just running through it. If this item were in Reborn it would be interesting to see how nonspeedrunners choose to spend their time grinding. Although it is sort of a boost which offers no tough decision making. That's why I took the time to come up with this proposal in my post above which offers a much more limited reward, a time constraint and a requirement for the player to have already failed a gym challenge in order to use it. This is just a place to pool in really well thought out ideas even though they most likely won't happen.

Good point. I hadn't really thought about how the exp. share would shorten the play time by that much. That could be a big problem in Reborns case. I wouldn't quite say that "new areas" would be discovered by players who are grinding but since some of the players join the community or read the forums as guests, it would help lengthen the play time. As for the players who are used to grinding and would quickly run into the level cap, I'm still not sure if it's that bad of a problem. If it truly does abolish the need to grind then I definitely wouldn't want this version of the exp. share implemented. I'm honestly curious about what the experience would be like if the exp. share was implemented in a game that uses level caps like Reborn. Of course the X/Y games were going to be easy as a matter of fact too easy with the exp. share but I still wonder how that would effect newcomers to competitive battle. My problem with the move relearner isn't that its too difficult to earn the heartscales. Its that players spend so much time battling without really getting enough chances to experiment with the pokemon they already have. Of course you probably wouldn't want to reteach ember and fire spin to a charizard with flamethrower but why make it such a hassle in the first place? This is why people came up with a battle simulator like pokemon online in the first place so players could find out what works and what doesn't right away in battle. I'm particularly talking about the canon series in this case not Reborn. I think it would be a bit more interesting to be able to swap in those moves you've previously had by level up. Heck it might be more balanced than having relearnable tms. It would work like this: -From the menu your options would be summary, move, item, swap -In Swap you'd see the list of moves your pokemon previously had -Then you'd be able to quickly switch to whatever moves your pokemon previously had -Hidden moves at level 0 like Gardevoir's Moonblast would NOT be included This is all theory but I'm looking for ways to make it more experimental for players I guess. In one day...I feel slow. I guess most of the players have already gotten used to speed running Reborn. The exp. share from Gen 6 does sort of cause problems knowing that we have 8 or 7 badges to go? I am curious though about your views on how you wish to challenge players. What drives your inspiration behind some of the puzzles you put in and those special bosses like ditto arceus and pulse abra? Any games your referencing that I don't know by chance? It does level up your team quite a bit. After seeing marrilands walkthrough I noticed that his team was on equal footing with the gym leader but his starter was overleveled. Depending on your style of play I'd definitely say Gen 6 Exp. Share is imbalanced though I think it's closer to what I'd like to see. I know what you're saying but it's nice to look for other possibilities as well. I've been thinking about that idea of simply adding in the exp. share and I honestly feel that it was a bit of a lazy suggestion. A while back I had an idea where you could double the amount of experience you earned for one pokemon in your party only for one day. I was thinking of that one episode where Ash was training cyndaquil for a rematch with skarmory. Sure it lessens the amount of time it takes to train something up for a gym battle but I was thinking since it's a small boost for one pokemon a day it might help get players to think carefully about how they prepare they're team for a rematch. I think I should break this down a bit further. -if the player loses to a gym leader only -the player is offered a chance(by an npc maybe) to raise one pokemon in the party/pc with double the exp. for that day I thought it might fit in with the atmosphere of Reborn. What do you guys think? Should it be tweaked to 1.5 times the experience? Are there holes you can spot? I'm interested in your thoughts.....I feel like some host on a talk show.

Finally I can respond. And after reading your posts I've noticed my mistakes. The exp. share does exist at the game corner as a prize and as a reward after doing DJ Arclights sidequest. I think I'll need to edit that in my initial post . Thanks guys! I guess you could say that the exp. share needs work since like you said one pokemon fights and rewards the whole team with exp. points. I'm with you on the fact that this game is meant to be more challenging than the usual games but I'm more so looking out for players who rotate their teams. I just want to explore other possibilities with the canon game's series in general and not look at it like its a type of game that should barely make any changes, you know? In Reborn Ame did what she could to give us a fresh experience so I figure why not look at what else it could be? I mean gym leaders have six pokemon so now their battles feel like real boss battles straight out of a more traditional rpg except they are a bit more tactical due to the level caps. I want to hear about more changes even if they're really out their like traveling with a party of six trainers each specializing in battle. You might be thinking why six trainers all you need are your own pokemon but the point is to find something that could work. I just like coming up with ideas like this even though I just happen to use Reborn as the example for a game that may potentially benefit from having the use of X/Y's exp. share. Thank you for letting know about the exp. share. Well that's the thing with any rpg you don't really do anything when your grinding except repeat the same thing over and over again until your at a high level or make enough money. To level grind is easy just time consuming. I'm with you for those sections that you don't receive gym badges because she needed to keep the enemy's level reasonable with our current pokemon's levels per boss battle. I'm more so looking at the players who make mistakes with their movesets and the players who like to train more than a team of six pokemon. Of course constantly having to use rare candy on your team could be annoying. Trust me X/Y's exp. share is definetly not perfect but it I do prefer it over the original. What I'm looking at is what needs to be rewarded. I thought it was a great start towards refining the game. Maybe not with all the current rules in the games but with the addition of a level cap it could help balance the gameplay quite a lot. Please don't tell me you actually enjoy switch training a shuckle for every gym battle. I never tried it because of my experience with magikarp and for me it's not very practical. To add, switch training rewards offensive gameplay and not defensive gameplay for anyone who uses toxic stall strategies. No matter what you do it will always take less time to grind a shuckle or chansey by switch training instead of toxic stalling because there isn't an added bonus of exp. points for longer battles. This means that more players will have movesets built around offensive which will further lessen the diversity of team building. I don't know if anyone played final fantasy tactics advance but the game mechanics for earning experience seemed fair to me for all character classes including the supportive ones like the white mage who gained experience everytime he cast cure. Come on, I mean what else is he there for? Not his offense I hope. The same could be said for defensive pokemon where although their are few of them, I think they should give the player these types of benefits. I don't care if an added exp. bonus to pokemon that use recover or wish/protect or what but I think a sufficient reward should be given to the player for stalling the enemy. That's sort of the challenge that I'm pushing for but I've been thinking that some more limitations could be put on the exp. share like maybe not all six pokemon but three or something. That's the problem though. In what ways should we define difficult? I feel like that reason is used to say that it's okay to just bypass something that may be a flaw in the game. In Reborn's case I'm still not quite sure if the exp. share would be OP for it. Theoretically it shouldn't change the fact that you would almost be fighting the gym leaders on even terms in the case of level. I need more problems that players could run into that would make the game too easy for me to see it. I know what your saying and I like that kind of challenge that doesn't give you that instant gratification on the first victory. Still though the exp. share from X/Y lessens the time you'd spend level grinding so I still can't see long periods of grinding as a challenge. The point of adding X/Y's exp share isn't to make the game easier but to support the players who are raising a few new pokemon with better movesets prepared for the boss battle because they're trying to become better players with what they caught. Well at least with players who didn't fight Julia with marshtomp I guess. I just started thinking that probably my biggest complaint with the canon series pokemon games is the fact that once you delete a move it's gone forever until you essentially grind for heartscales in order to pay for older moves. For younger pokemon like pikachu I'd personally make it free and provide a quicker use of moves swapping like right from the menu.(tail whip for double battles maybe? I don't know.) As for gardevoir with moonblast at level 30, that would definitely cost you something. What do you guys think? I'd love to continue the discussion about reborn as well since now I'm feeling a little ify about the exp. share but not totally against it yet though. .

You've got it all mapped out. Of course that is how speed runs are. I can't wait to see how you deal with getting strength. Good luck.

I've been thinking a lot lately about what goes on with the main series pokemon games and Reborn's game and I thought I'd try to get some discussion going on that focuses on the possibilities of what these games could be with reasons as to how they could be done. Don't worry too much about rpg maker or pokemon essentials or even the main series core mechanics(although I'll bring up some of what I know) just the idea and how it would work/your reasoning. I know I tend to write quite a bit of text but this stuff requires a bit of detail so please bare with me. I won't bring up anything super innovative at the moment in terms of design at the moment. For now I'll start with the topic that's been going around of moving top tier pokemon in Reborn. I can understand removing any pokemon from the early game that has the potential of staying as a prominent even a dominant team member until the late game. If the game requires the player to make changes to the in game team, I see no problem at all with that goal. In exchange I would recommend giving players access to the exp. share right from the beginning. And no I'm not talking about the one that's been used for Ruby/Saphire to Black/White. I mean the one in X and Y where it seemed like every pokemon gamer you could think of(youtube players and followers) said this thing is OP and should be put in after you beat the game. I hate hearing this solution for X and Y with a passion. It always seems like everyone is looking for a quick fix solution to solve game difficulty problems but I can't agree with X/Y's exp. share being OP at all. First lets look at how this item was executed in the game and review its legitimate effects. It basically lessens the amount of time that you would have to spend grinding your team of pokemon by awarding non battlers in your team with half of the battling pokemons experience. That way your whole team can potentially be useful when fighting against gym leaders. Eventually it got to the point where the players pokemon were at higher levels compared to the gym leaders pokemon, elite four, and even the champion. So battles between the bosses were unbalanced. They underestimated the power the players wielded with regards to how useful this item could be so a majority of the people who used this item found Pokemon X/Y to be much easier than the usual canon games. So the problem is simply, my pokemon are at higher levels than the opponents which is making the game too easy. How should developers fix this? Take the easy way out and move/remove the exp. share til later? Sure they can and probably will if they have other plans that take precedence over gameplay balance. This is a possibility for GameFreak considering all the new features they implement in each game, gameplay balance just might not be that important for a kids game. However, I have another solution. Add a level cap for any pokemon traded or not just as Reborn has done and give the leaders more than two pokemon; in Reborns case six. There are some people that love to grind and can do it for hours without a care in the world. A lot of people who play rpg's have patience but that patience varies. Just as a lot of players know the best jobs these pokemon can perform, other players are just starting learn which pokemon are more physical than special attack oriented. If you give players choices between groups of pokemon that will most likely struggle in defeating a gym leader's team, they'll need plenty of opportunities to swap in and out pokemon that don't work well together team wise as well as the freedom to quickly swap in and out the most recently forgotten moves.(I'll try not to focus on moves for now) Look at Reborns gym leaders. From Florina onwards their pokemon stay very close to the level cap some of which include battles where you don't even earn a badge ex. Kiki. After defeating Julia I believe the exp. share would be an appropriate reward and if the levels of Corey's pokemon are an issue, I would recommend it being given at least after defeating him. Please bare in mind that this suggestion is geared towards beginners who are just learning the meta game like myself and not to people who know all the common strategies. One size doesn't fit all. Another thing I want to say is I don't expect to see the exp. share in Reborn anytime soon. This was just a way for me to express my feelings on the general design of the canon pokemon games not so much Reborn and to explore other possible solutions to some things I felt made certain parts of the game not fun at all. Finally, I just want everyone to feel free to express and explain any game design idea you have about Reborn even if you're totally against me and you still think the exp. share is OP and stupid. Just please try to explain your reasoning for why you disagree so that we have a meaningful discussion because if there's one thing I've learned it's that nobodies perfect and my idea is just as likely to have holes in it like anyone else's. That's why I'd like all of us to discover these possibilities together. I'm not asking for huge walls of text(though I don't mind personally ) just an explanation which you never know you might just so happen to do it accidentally. I put a lot of time and thought into this so hopefully you're not bored.

I'd love to see this even if it isn't that detailed. I checked your other run and I still have a hard time trying to speed run this game without wanting to train everything. Show me how the pros play.

It's possible if you started with totodile. Breed a male aron with metal claw to totodile and then level up the male totodile with metal claw to 48 without evolving it to get superpower. It can breed with corphish to get both.of those moves but you'd need that totodile. That's the only way I can see it happening. You can check serebii.net if you want to see for yourself.

It might not be much work for Ame at all depending on how much support she gets and what kind of help is available. I don't know if she'd need to create the download links herself or not but I wouldn't rule this idea out yet unless of course Ame says it would be too much trouble.
-
I can quote now eheehee.. :feelsgd: A while back I had a concept for how I would make a small interactive experience like this. Of course if you're talking about Pokemon Reborn, what your suggesting is essentially a new feature. At this stage of development when Ame is about halfway there(I think) this would take too long to implement. Mapping. It would simply take too much time. I've seen her sprite tutorials and ever since the last three episodes I've seen her add nice amounts of detail to the game. I'm struggling right now trying to find out how to notice the high quality sprites from the less defined ones before I try to help with sprite recolors. The tough thing about it is that eventually you have to know when to stop being an artist so that you can deliver something to the public at whatever deadline you plan to meet. I love conversations about this stuff and I have a whole bunch of ideas as to what changes Game Freak could make with the Pokemon series. Eventually you have to face reality and look at what resources you have, what you're willing to do, and how much time you have. A reverse dive sounds do able solely based on the scripts of Pokemon essentials and RPG maker. I had something a little bigger in my but I haven't figured out what software I'd use.

@khey I like the idea of two different lists. Pre route 1 and post route 1 might be difficult to constantly playthrough but multiple save files will help with that. I'm not sure if Spritzee should change in tier but I've got a good feeling that Aromatisse could be much more helpful than Slurpuff. This is just based on my experience with Aromatisse though. Right after you beat Shelly you've got access to a link stone which you can use right away along with giving it the hold evolution item. My Aromatisse had high iv's in hp(29) and defense(24) but very low iv's in special attack(3) and special defense(4). Of course its speed is below average. Even so it was able to take hits very well due to its high hp base 101 and deliver a large amount of damage. It's movepool is very dangerous because it starts off with calm mind at level 20 and learns draining kiss at level 21 which worked perfectly for dealing damage and keeping it alive for the long run of the battle. On top of that it learns moonblast at level 31. For late game it learns psychic at level 48. One thing I noticed is that Kiki's team didn't seem ready for an Aromatisse who used calm mind three times and to my surprise it took out pretty much her whole team including Croagunk and Lucario with moonblast and draining kiss. Of course every pokemon has its moments so slurpuff may have its moments however, I used a common type sweeping strategy that I've seen a lot of people use with other pokemon. Normally you wouldn't keep two moves of the same type but in this case Aromatisse seems to have a more dangerous movepool than Slurpuff to me personally. I'm no expert on tiers but I'd say it's a bit better than a Slurpuff. Honestly, it saved me in many meteor battles when nothing else could.

@Amethyst(quote button isn't working) Good point. It is a minor thing for this kind of a game especially since its a fan game. That must have been a really difficult episode to work on. I mean there is a lot of stuff going on and somehow you just made the plot flow really well one event after another. This is kind of my favorite part of the game since on my first playthrough I swapped out my team including my starter Samurott and learned to use a different one with because of the level cap. Anyways I liked it a whole lot and I appreciate the work you put in.

I just redid the HM strength chapter. Now I feel kind of stupid for making that post earlier because there's more than one instance where you're quest to save the kids at the orphanage is mentioned. Maybe Cain is a little too upbeat at times although it does make sense that he would be since that's the kind of character he is. I honestly think that this part of the story played out really well. This whole thing could have been called a large chapter in the story. A big journey for the HM almost The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker style you know when you're collecting jewels in order to obtain the master sword and defeat Ganondorf which should finally allow you to save your sister. Maybe I was looking for more cutscenes or so where the characters talked about the kids at the orphanage or something. I 'm particularly thinking about Victoria when she say she's "sorry that she won't be able to travel with you any more." I'm just wondering how did she manage to get to the island? Was she on the baooat with us and then decided to walk around the beach on her own to meet Cal alone maybe? I guess I'm thinking that a boat ride scene with you and Victoria is missing or something where you get to tell her more about what happened. Maybe I'm just rambling but who knows maybe it would help build the relationship between Victoria and the player since she always seems to be rushing towards something urgent. Any thoughts, opinions maybe?

I seem to always bring Kriketune however Ekans didn't do half bad until I had to fight sierra. At that time I had to say goodbye to him for a Togekiss with aura sphere. I sort of got attached to that Arbok though. Now Trubbish gets reused in my playthroughs as I try out new members. I miss my snake sometimes.

Which pkm do you think will disappear in Ep.12?
Saber12 replied to gutten_tag's topic in Reborn City
@Blinding Guardian This is the kind of stuff that I'm looking for. I remember reading a few posts about a couple of monotype teams that made it through the first few gyms easily and neither of them had a Gyarados or Gardevoir. I think the monotype runs I saw were normal, bug, and dark but I know they got through the first two gym leaders to start. Its really hard for me to say whether any pokemon given early on is op because of there are so many factors to consider besides the competitive aspect. Like how you brought up how tedious the level grinding for Magikarp can be early on and the fact that you're blowing pretty much all the money you earned. Just look at how much you have to sacrifice for it now. And even though Ralts can do more fighting than a Magikarp, its defenses are very low even when it evolves into a Kirlia. There's also the fact that you won't have a level 30 Gardevoir unless you give most of the experience you're earning to Kirlia or you just plain grind it. Then there's Trapinch which you basically have to gamble or play a game repeatedly to get it. My point is that pokemon like Gyarados, Trapinch, and even Swirlix require you to give a lot in order to gain. That includes the event that you are going through as well as the grinding you'll have to put in after receiving the pokemon. I totally agree with the fact that we have more options other than Gardevoir and Gyarados for getting through the game though. I think we'll need an analysis thread for obtainable pokemon in reborn pretty soon.(although I think we already have one around here somewhere though) Oh and to stay on topic with the thread. Rattata's getting banned. :ph34r:That's right the one you'd least expect. Can't have endeaver Rattata users now can we? OP I tell ya! -
Which pkm do you think will disappear in Ep.12?
Saber12 replied to gutten_tag's topic in Reborn City
@Dobby I don't know I think Jigglypuff is at the bottom of the list to even consider using as a fairy type or normal type. I feel that its stats are really weird and its move pool is in my opinion just plain boring. Worst part about it is you start with Igglypuff so you have to increase its happiness first to get a Jigglypuff which is very time consuming now unless you take all the hidden proteins and calciums you can find and feed the puff ball. Then do everything that involves increasing its happiness before it reaches level 17 in order for it to learn round so it has a fighting chances against some of its foes. I personally don't like the idea of Gardevoir getting moved since Ralts and Kirlia are really frail early on almost as frail as Noibat. However, if I find myself catching Swirlix and Spritzee just for the heck of it then maybe it's best if Ralts were obtainable at least sometime after getting those two. I mean they are options but I see more teams using gardevoir with moonblast so these two may never be used or at least considered. In that case, I'm all for moving Gardevoir until later. As for Azumarill, Granbull is somewhat similar offensively but I wouldn't worry too much about Azumarill's huge power behind aqua tail. It's slow so it'll wear out eventually like most tanks. We've got a few fair psychic options early on like Mime jr., Spoink, Woobat, Smoochum(not very good) and Chingling(again with the annoying happiness mechanics) a little later. As for Gyarados users well looks like there's no need for Goldeen, Finneon or Surskit from the beginning. Honestly though, these options are hard for me to want to invest my grinding time on. Yeah maybe Trubbish, or Kriketot but a Goldeen without lightning rod for the first gym and then having to fight the grass gym leader next can get really annoying if it gets ko'd on the first turn against every pokemon. No one wants to invest time into training a pokemon that won't get used at all. I think Surskit is a bit more reliable but I haven't tried it yet. Now I'm wondering if Mawile should've be moved. It was helpful for me early on but definitely not over powered when I used it in version 8. I think it wears itself out easily even up against Florina's grass types. Of course now its steel and fairy but it's stats never changed well that's a story for another time. Maybe ame could put in manholes for us to use as shortcuts to get near the pokemon center or the grand hall. Or those alleys could have openings that lead to certain landmarks in the city so they're not just dead ends. Either way it would cut back tracking in Peridot ward notably and it would let the pros be pros. Those who know the streets know the shortcuts I guess. Might not be teleport but it could be fast and interesting. The game already had some great graphical improvements after the 10.5 release so maybe its a possibility. -
I took it out at that time in the game but my method isn't a guaranteed win though. I just took a plusle that had the ability lightning rod and thunder waved it. Then I used charge beam until plusle ran out of pp and the rest of my team to finish it off by attacking it with special attacks or supereffective moves. It was only by luck since it kept using charge beam on plusle and not mirror shot which finished me two times I think. I agree with espy though since I just happened to beat it on the third try. All of its stats are hard to get around and you really can't do much to weaken it. I mean it had clear body so fake tears didn't work so the best move I had to take advantage of it was thunder wave's speed drop on the opponent and the chance for it to be unable to attack. I think most people will find fighting it at this stage in the game to be too time consuming.

I'll try it. So just click register under Themetour XXXI right?

I definitely think it is necessary to have a reason for fighting these leaders besides collecting all the badges but timber dragon has a point. That was a lot of stuff to do before saving the kids. By the time we got to the base I'd expect the doctor to have already used his shock therapy on every single one of the kids. unless that wasn't part of the deal he made with the meteors. (I can't remember) I guess it just feels a little awkward to go on this long quest and to seemingly not mention a feeling of worry for the kids except with kiki because I do remember her mentioning your reason to save the kids from the orphanage so there is a reminder during this journey.(they are gym leaders but you know) Well, a couple of rpg's do this sort of thing where the heroes have to hurry up and stop something dangerous from happening but end up going on a sidequest or two. I admit this quest was pretty distracting but based on my memory alone it seemed to flow from one event to the other pretty well. This is one of those things that seems to have both strengths and weaknesses but neither seems to dominate the other. Actually, I change my mind I think the end justified the means in this one. It's just difficult finding where there could be improvement. I have to go through it again.

@Snow whoops I was thinking of Kira from the manga Death Note not Kyra as that names spelled. My bad. @Mikzal step one is taking a break from the laptop. I can't really say much for step two other than to try and open your options a bit more if you can. Something else should appeal to you if you look hard enough. Maybe karate? Eh eh eh you know you want to! @RubyHeart I wish I could do more than just give suggestions but I guess that's one of the limitations to the internet. I don't want you to end up in a dark place when bad things happen around you or to you either. Now I know I may not be able to give you the best advice but I'm sure that person is lucky to be able to keep you from going over the edge. I'd feel special if I were that person and I knew that whatever I did kept someone important to me safe. Sometimes I wish my words of encouragement would get my little brothers to loosen up and not become antisocial like me but eventually I just gave up since whatever I said couldn't even crack a smile on there faces. I don't want to put up a huge wall of text if what I say sounds similar to everyone else so I'm personally rooting for you to be strong and caring for your friends. I'll see if I can get on the server sometime when my internet stops acting up. -

@Bluewolf I think I understand what you mean. Its after you develop that filter in your head so when you speak you don't hurt anyone's feelings. In my case however I barely have any friends who I keep in contact with. That's sort of the reason why I'm a little antisocial to begin with because I hate to say something and in response hear something that makes me feel embarrassed, stupid, or even a little awkward. It's the same thing with me man. I want to live a life with no secrets just me doing my thing, talking to folks, and learning from mistakes in some cases by experience itself but it's that fear that seems to lead you right back into being someone who simply does what he does because he thinks he'll bring everyone down. People will know about how you really feel when your ready to tell them but it's up to you to decide when. I can't even say just do it because I don't know what your thinking specifically but it's tough living in secrecy for too long when some of the things you want to say are best left unsaid. You'll probably need someone that you can talk to privately so that you're prepared to clearly express yourself without saying something that could hurt the people around you. @Tempest I've been through that kind of cycle. To be perfectly honest though, you're not alone; I'm going through something like that now. Let me first say that its great that you have these goals or hobbies: good grades, lacrosse, golf, being the mod who'll take care of business when he see's it. I've got my own set of goals: draw everyday, practice martial arts, find a new part time job, learn Japanese, go back to college and get a bachelors. No matter what it is you want to do, all of these things take some time. However, if there is a change in your schedule or everyday lifestyle, then everything could fall apart. Let me see if I can paint a clearer picture. If your normal priorities in your free time are something like this: 1st study with reborn server open, then take care of chores, next get a little exercise from playing golf, finally open reborn server again now to beta test the reborn game until curfew, any other events or vacation may become easy to get used to especially if you now have less responsibilities. Another thing to watch out for is your speed. Sometimes you need to slow down with the multitasking(not saying you do multitask) workload and focus on one thing at a time until you can speed up again. Everybody wants things to get done fast but it's not always easy to move at 100% if you're continuously getting 4 hours of sleep a night or are so busy in the day that you don't get a chance to just relax and take a break. When I say take a break, I mean you just sit down for a good half hour to an hour or so and enjoy it as if time doesn't even exist. Like think of it as your time to come up with crazy ideas while watching T.V. or don't even think at all. For that time period you have no duty and are free to just wander where your mind will. Most I can say is combat an odd change in your lifestyle with another one. The best advice that I can give is to try to slow down until you can get back to speed or give yourself an hour for your mind to relax and not think about a schedule. And finally don't try too hard to be a perfectionist. It's good to aim high but if you beat yourself up too much, that negativity will slow you down like it did me. I don't claim myself to be a professional on fixing this problem since I sort of have it too but I think it's worth trying until you find out what works for you. @Mikzal Try using a kitchen timer or an alarm to keep yourself from going overboard on the internet. Non of us can handle browsing the whole thing in a day. Not saying you browse the whole thing but try using limitations as painful as they might feel at first. It'll only get easier as you remember less about what you saw those nights or better yet were curious about seeing. No promises but at least when you turn off the laptop you'll have no choice but to find something else to do. @RubyHeart I'm so at ease. For a moment there I thought I was too late. @Kyra, Rogue, Snow You'll make me choose one of these names right? In all seriousness though, why do you hate everyone? why notsay a lot of people in Reborn annoy you if they do of course? Sure everyone's just about lost their sanity including me but hate can be so harsh. And of course, love is a strong word but we can all get along right?
