  1. I'll be away for the next couple of days guys, so if anyone needs to bunny Mr. Taylor along, please do so.
  2. Oarloff stood by silently watching as Marcus, his fighting master laid on the ground dead. He couldn't move, speak, or even breathe. Instead all the generally jolly ogre could do is stand, pale as a ghost staring at the bleak scene. Suddenly and without warning the ogre turned and ran off, tears obviously beginning to well in his eyes. "It's not fair..." the ogre muttered to himself as he ran.
  3. Maximus took the stone from the man and smiled kindly, "Not a problem at all sir," he said while turning away and heading off towards the northern gate.
  4. Mr. Taylor raised an eyebrow at the young psycho killer. "Don't question me, lad. If you head down that way you'll see most of them fighting. amongst themselves. Now, don't tell me you can't handle those fools in that state..." Mr. Taylor looked at the killer dryly and talked as though he were scalding a child. "Now, if you're all done I have business to attend to." Mr. Taylor said no more, he simply turned and started to walk in the direction he was heading, continuing his search for Gestas.
  5. Clint pulled himself up and grabbed his crutches. "Lieutenant," he called out to Surge, "Shouldn't we be pursuing these assholes? They tried to kill our guys."
  6. Oarloff had tried to listen to Miss Juniper, he really did. He followed her as fast as he could, but he was tired from fighting earlier and she was a very quick misses. Luckily that left him a good bit closer to the site when he started hearing the trouble and started seeing Marcus's flare warning. He quickly turned around and rushed as fast as he could to go help Mister Marcus and Miss Helzebeff. The ogre huffed and puffed as he arrived, at where he thought he had heard them. Unfortunately for the jolly giant, he'd have no time to rest. As he looked he saw what looked to be a really big mean wolf running right at Mister Marcus. Thinking quickly Oarloff turned and picked up the biggest stick he could find and threw it over top of the wolf's head, yelling a boisterous and hearty "FETCH!"
  7. Maximus looked around to see if anyone was trying to find him, "Well I suppose I have some spare time... If you need any help I suppose I'd be willing to give it to you."
  8. Isn't there a way to incorporate both ideas into one? What if our pokemon, when they reach a certain age/maturity level, have their bodies shut down and sort of 'hibernate' to grow rapidly. We can determine a time period later (maybe a day, maybe a couple of hours, maybe a couple of days?) Our GAOs beforehand could start showing signs, such as eating heavily, before they're about to evolve to sort of give clues to us trainers. I think this idea gives us the best of both worlds, where we get to have that crazy evolution period where our GAO can undergo a large amount of change, but it'd still make at least some sense biologically.
  9. So, if you're going by the creepy pasta post, what I think they mean by matter-energy transference machine, is a machine that can change matter into energy and energy into matter. This is an idea that came about with the founding of 'modern' physics (which is about 100 years old now.) The idea is that matter and energy are actually loosely related and that the universe has ways of converting one to the other. One such example you may be familiar with is nuclear fusion. The simplest and most important case of fusion is hydrogen fusion. In hydrogen fusion two hydrogen atoms, single proton atoms, collide and create a new helium atom, an atom with two protons. However if you look at your periodic table of elements you may notice that two hydrogen atoms have a greater atomic mass than one helium atom. Well, that extra mass is converted to what we call a photon (a massless, pure energy particle, responsible for light). The energy of a photon is easily calculated by one of the most famous equations in physics E=Mc^2. Basically you take that extra mass you had and multiply it by the speed of light squared and that's how much energy you have. And this is the process that fuels stars like our Sun across the universe with that slight drop in mass from hydrogen to helium we can create huge amounts of energy Another example that human beings can actually accomplish in a lab is pair production. Pair production goes the opposite way, where we can actually create matter from pure energy. I'm not sure of how the process actually works, but pair production is basically when you take a photon and 'break it apart' into two particles an electron and a positron (the anti-matter version of the electron, it's essentially an electron with negative mass and positive charge.) This means that there are ways to take raw energy and convert it into matter. What a lot of science fiction writers do is take these processes a step further and have us creating all sorts of things, like space-ships and food, directly from energy and then turning our waste right back into energy. While, there's nothing that says any of this is impossible at this point converting energy directly into anything other than elementary particles has no basis to it. However, that's why it's sci-fi right? So, while I wouldn't expect to see anything like this in reality I think it's all good and fine for our sci-fi story. But, how exactly does a matter-energy converter create pokemon? The only thing that comes to mind is that it would have to run on fusion (which has the highest energy yield known to physics). Since fusion is a highly violent process it wouldn't be absurd to think that accidents would happen, particularly in the early stages of its development.
  10. "You wouldn't happen to have any throwing spears would you?" the young Ekarder asked. "I'll need as many as I can carry."
  11. "Thank you Miss Helzebeff!" the jolly half ogre chuckled as he took the flowers from the ranger. "Does me do it like this?" He asked as he tried to place the flower in the few strands of hair he had on his head.
  12. Maximus walked over to the first armory he saw and started to look around, searching for a shop keeper or anything of the sort.
