  1. Mr. Taylor took in what Nathan had just said, "Perhaps, you're right, whether or not this is real is inconsequential, what matters is my own perception and if that tells me that a horse made of bone is there, than I must accept that," he said taking in that perhaps he was accepting his own insanity, "Well lad, thank you for that," he stopped and looked around, the set up was exactly the same all over the place. "Hold on for a second," Mr. Taylor said, while walking over to a book shelf, picking up several copies of the books, careful not to open any of them, "Just as I thought, each book is exactly the same, just as each bookshelf we pass is exactly the same," the realization then dawned on him, the passage from earlier, he knew it sounded familiar, how could he have been so foolish, he quickly turned to Nathan. "Did you see a stone with some encryption on it earlier, and if you did, can you tell me what it said?"
  2. Mr. Taylor chuckled again at Nathan's comments, "Now, lad I thought we were past the point of making threats," he said in a lighthearted manner, then his tone switched to a more serious one, "However, you must understand my concerns, I've seen a one-eyed lion-like creature, shadows jump out from books, a young man create portals in mid-air, and another young man summon angels from a card. Now I've seen a great many things throughout my life, and magic is not one of them, so I must then question the sanity of my own mind, especially at my advanced age," his tone once again lightened up, "So, you said I can test your reality? Then tell me, why aren't you shaken at the fact that a horse made only of its own bone running around with a man no older then 13 on it?"
  3. Mr. Taylor sighed as Nathan stowed his blade then answered his question as he began walking, "Well, I can't say for sure that this place is set up like the Vatican, but if I've learned anything as an archeologist over the years, it's that human beings all think alike. If you have a library, you're likely to hide something in a corner or behind a particular bookshelf, one that looks significant, but not overly significant. Now as to how I know, which way is which, well we've only been inside for merely a few hours, at most, any good navigator can retain where he last saw the North star, at least to some extent," as he continued walking and answering Nathan's questions he saw the young boy from earlier riding on what appeared to be a horse made entirely from bones, "Do you see there dear boy? That's perhaps the main reason I don't fear you, if you do in fact see a horse made entirely from bone then I know for a fact that I must be imagining you, and if you do not then my mind has withered beyond repair."
  4. Mr. Taylor smirked and turned to Nathan "Now lad, you can surely understand why I feel the need to protect myself, but I have a sneaking suspicion that you value your own life a tad higher than I value mine, so let's make a promise you put your weapon away and I won't pull mine out. Also I'm afraid it won't due if you walk behind me, nor you I. So, I suggest we walk together. I know I may not be as fast as you, but again if your looking to go any deeper in this place, then I can of course speed up your quest, that is of course, assuming you are real," Mr. Taylor then slowly moved his hand away from the revolver as to show Nathan he meant what he said, "Now, if I'm not mistaken this library is similar to the library set up in the Vatican, which has most of its secrets laid in the southeast corner, so I suggest we head in that direction."
  5. Mr. Taylor nodded at his new compatriot, then turned around and began pressing forward, "So lad do you have a name?" He asked while slowly reaching towards his belt, carefully unfastening the revolver he held there. "My name is Michael Taylor, but you can call me Mr. Taylor if you'd like."
  6. I can't help the fact that you decided to try and murder a kind elderly man in his sleep, besides I'd like for my character to not be the first person killed.
  7. "Well my dear lad, I'm an archeologist, I've been through many a pyramid in Egypt, traversed the Amazon, and canoed down the Colorado river right through the Grand Canyon itself," Mr. Taylor said while starting to roll up his sleeping bag, "I may not look like a fighter, but if anyone here can navigate this place it's me, and whether or not you're a figment of my imagination it seems as though destiny itself has decided we shall traverse whatever this place is together," he continued, then grabbed his cane and his bag and threw his straw hat back on, "Well then, if your here for an adventure friend then we best get to it."
  8. Mr. Taylor rolled over to catch a young man with a knife drawn creeping over to him. "So young man, perhaps I'm not the only disillusioned person in this place after all, or are you just a figment of my imagination?" Mr. Taylor said contemplating why in the hell someone would just kill a stranger, he had been all over the world and no one had ever attempted to slit his throat in his sleep, nor had done any of the things he had seen today. "Or perhaps you're the reaper himself, well young man whatever the case may be if it is my destiny to die here then I won't fight you," Mr. Taylor pushed himself upward in order to sit up, "But, perhaps before you slay me, you can answer me one question, why kill an old man in his sleep when you have no idea what he may have to offer you?"
  9. Clint nodded at Ray, then turned to Logan "Alright, maybe lata man." He may have wanted to battle Logan, but he definitely wanted to eat more. He quickly called back his Tyrogue and Onix, both of which were still recovering then another question popped in his head for Dr. Ray. "Hey, Doctor is there any way you can heal my guys up, other than the lotion? I mean it may take me a couple hours to lather up Pimparella," he asked after Ray was done talking to the driver.
  10. After the bullet had approached Mr. Taylor he saw some boy appear and block the bullet, then one of the other boys called upon seven angels to defeat a group of shadow monsters. Shortly after that the two boys then took off to go and search for the youngest of the boys. "... That's it, I think it has become quite clear that I am tripping something fierce right now," Mr. Taylor sat down, he knew was old, but he didn't think that he should be hallucinating especially since this is the first time he'd ever experienced anything like this. "Maybe, I'll just sleep it off," he said aloud as he took his sleeping bag out, took off his straw hat, and laid down next to a pile of books. While laying down he couldn't help but here all of the strange noises and he thought he may have seen a rat holding a gun jumping on top of the book shelves. "Yes, I'm definitely going to need to leave tomorrow and see a doctor," he sighed to himself while still struggling to fall asleep.
  11. Clint released the empty box of cigarettes to the monkey, then turned his attention to Logan. "I ain't really sure man, all he told me was that my Onix was a chick, so I decided I'd start callin' her pimparella." Clint then looked back over at his sleeping Tyrogue, wondering how the little fighter had slept through the previous battle. "Ya know Rocky and ya monkey guy neva did get a chance to fight."
  12. As Mr. Taylor turned around to make his escape from the one-eyed lion he heard, what sounded like a gun-shot, most likely a shot gun. He turned around to notice a man, who appeared to be old enough to at least be there, but did seem a bit out of place. "Excuse me sir!" He called out to the man, "My name is Mr. Taylor and I was just wondering if by any chance you have any idea of what is going on here, or if you could at least shed some light on why a lion is in a library," he then turned to the two younger boys, "And why in fact are you two here? This is no place for children, you really must be more cautious."
  13. While wondering around Mr. Taylor had been drawn to the crashing and banging of the bookshelves' collapse, and started heading in that direction, assuming, of course, that some other researcher or archeologist was down there. On his approach he noticed two boys, one no older than a pre-teen, the other perhaps near his 20's being confronted by a one-eyed lion. In a hurry, Mr. Taylor reached into his bag and pulled out a leftover steak which he had saved from lunch. He tossed the steak past the lion causing the jungle cat to run in the direction of the food. "Quickly boys, this way!" he called out to the two boys, urging them in his direction.
  14. Clint stood there with his mouth still wide opened staring at his fallen partner as Ray talked to him, barely able to process any of the words he told him. However, through the talk Clint did pick up one bit of information, that his Onix was a female. "Female, huh..." he said to himself, before the realization finally dawned on him, "Wait, uh, in't that the girl one?" he again said aloud, this time loud enough for most of the people around him to hear. "Great, so not only does my big pimpin' lose to a girl, but then I come to find out that she's also a girl, well I guess her name is Pimparella from now on..." Clint then reached into his pocket for another cigarette, "How could this day possibly get any worse," he said while opening the box of his cigarettes, only to reveal that the only one he had left was broken. "Uh..." he then moaned while putting his face into his palms.
  15. Clint took a moment to watch as the other cadet, Keaton, was being escorted off of the base. Clint's distraction however couldn't have come at a worse time. The Onix re-emerged as he was watching Keaton walk off base and was immediately bombarded with streams of water, causing the beast let out a huge ear-shattering scream. "SHIT, ONIX HIT IT WITH A ROCK!!!" The Onix obeyed fighting threw it's pain and began to whip back in order to hurl the rock. However, before the rock could be released the pain was too much and the Onix collapsed to the ground, which caused a huge shockwave, knocking Clint on his back. Clint got up after the Onix collapsed, his jaw hung stupidly from his face as he stared at the defeated monster in disbelief. "But .... I ... What?" He began but words weren't coming to his mouth instead only one thought raced through his mind, "That snake is gonna take a loooooooooooooot of lotion..."
  16. Thanks for the ideas everyone. I really like the idea of Aggron, Heracross, and Poliwrath (one of my personal favorites.) Sharpedo and Torterra were options I hadn't considered before and I'm definitely intrigued by using them (especially since I always like to have a FWG core, at least in game not always on competitive teams.) However, I'm definitely going to give Clint at least one cutemon for comedic relief. I also decided to go ahead and put my pokemon their nicknames and levels onto my first post on the thread. I'd encourage everyone to do the same this way when we go up against each other in a fight we can quickly check levels in the first two pages of this thread. Also, I'm not sure if this is right, but I have Tyrogue at level 12 and Onix at level 15.
  17. Mr. Taylor's eyes gleamed when he saw the library, he was excited about all of the literature this lost civilization had left. However, despite his enthusiasm he began to wonder how he got here. In his old age he knew that certain inconsequential moments popped out of his head, but he knew something about this wasn't right, one second he was standing before an arc (which appeared out of nowhere, something he decided to blame on his poor eye-sight), leading into a cave, the next he was standing in a library. "Must have been those mushrooms I had for lunch," Mr. Taylor half-joked, half-worried to himself deciding that these were merely illusions of his old, feeble, possibly drug-addled mind, however that's when he heard something. "This court is now in section. Before you proceed, be warned that no lies are allowed. Answer true and answer right, or your sentence will only come faster." "Who's there!" Mr. Taylor yelled out, he was becoming more and more afraid of this place and was starting to realize why the other researchers had left in the first place.
  18. Ghost type and less happy looking grass type pokes would be good for Lars, specifically Shiftry, Torterra, Carnivine, Tangrowth, Bannette, Victreebel, Vileplume, Dusclops, Spiritomb, and Sableye. Also since Lars likes to paint why not Smeargle? They alll seem like perma-bored outdoor loving type mons. Also, does anyone have any other ideas for Clint's mons?
  19. Mr. Taylor moved slowly through the rain, his old body filled with excitement. An old colleague of his had told him about this place and his mind was racing, "I wonder what new discoveries can be found in this place, it's been a long time since a discovery this huge has been made!" He had heard the news when it was discovered but decided to stay out of it when the initial rush went through, however that old colleague of his knew that there was something to this place and had convinced him to come out of retirement to come here. Despite his initial refusal, Mr. Taylor was now excited at the new opportunity, what secrets could have forced out so many researchers before him? As Mr. Taylor lumbered forward by using his walking stick he stumbled upon a strange rocky arc way, which appeared out of nowhere. The arc way appeared to have some unnatural darkness emanating from within. Was this some sort of ancient technology? On top of the arc way there appeared to be some sort of ancient hieroglyphics. Mr. Taylor couldn't make out which language the hieroglyphics appeared in, but he did understand what they said. "Abandon all Hope, ye who enter here" "Perhaps whatever civilization built these ruins, used this place as a burial ground or even a sacrificial chamber!" Mr. Taylor reasoned, while thinking of some lost religion that this society may have adhered to. "Well, only one way to find out," Mr. Taylor said as he stepped through the arc.
  20. Hey, if you're looking for clever Clint probably isn't going to be your man.
  21. Can someone tell Clint that his Onix is female? He doesn't honestly know at this point, but I'd like for him to have that talk (probably after his defeat, why not rub more salt in his eyes?) So that he can change it's nickname to the more appropriate 'pimparella'
