  1. "No, no, I believe I should be the one apologizing." Mr. Taylor said as he couldn't help but glance over at Ace, the enigma of a teddy bear. "It sure is kind of you, ma'am. Taking care of a sick girl in the depths of hell, if that is where we really are. I don't know what you did to deserve being down here, but I can't imagine it being all too bad." The man's face turned to a genuine caring smile and his eyes peered directly at Rose.
  2. Mr. Taylor staggered back at Rose's outburst. Clearly hell had changed even the kindest of souls. "Sorry about all that little lady. Captain Terry Miles at your service," he said as he extended a hand, "I can't say I know what in the hell is going on or how in the hell I got here, but I can assure you I'll do my damnedest to get us out."
  3. Maximus stared for a moment, he was more dumbfounded than upset by the loss of his friends. It wasn't that he didn't care, no it was more that he was in shock do to the insane change of events that were taking place. After a few moments of silence the Ekarder finally gathered his thoughts and sternly spoke to the bartender "What... What exactly is going on Rodriguez. Just days ago you told me you would kill Rossephus yourself if Stratos failed and now you work along side of him? I... I need to know what in the hell is going on." Maximus at this point no longer sounded as strong as when he had first started talking to Rossephus, instead his demands for answers no sounded more akin to begging.
  4. Mr. Taylor looked around the room sporadically trying to figure out what was going on. He knew he'd have to take control of the situation. If Marcus and Ethic killed each other, well that would be about the last thing that would let Mr. Taylor reach his goal. No instead the old man in a not so old body would continue his charade, but he'd add a little pizzazz to it. Years in the military had awarded Mr. Taylor with a particular yelling voice, one he would have no problem employing in his now more fitting body. Mr. Taylor stood up straight, placed his hands behind his back and started to speak in a stern manner, all the while maintaining his southern draw "Now I don't know what the deal is between you folks, but I can tell you one thing. I am not going to be stuck in a bank vault for the remainder of ever. No sir. So how about you two meatballs put aside the muscle flexing contest for the time being. I could care less if you go ahead and rip each others heads off of your necks after this whole little incident is done, but I will not pay for you two chicken-shits mistakes. Now let me repeat that for you both in case you're brain dead. YOU. WILL NOT. FIGHT. EACH. OTHER. Is that understood?"
  5. "Now gosh darn, what in the sam hell are you all babbling about," Mr. Taylor let out. "Now I don't know what happened between you folks, that there is your business. But, what I do know is that being locked in a bank vault for the rest of eternity isn't my idea of a party. So can't you all just put your differences aside for a lil' while?"
  6. Supernovae Though, I am wondering if we'll ever be calling them pokemon or if they'll always be GAOs.
  7. Mr. Taylor rolled over and stood up. The now younger man smirked, it had worked finally he could be the man he wanted to be. But, still becoming younger was just the first part of his plan. For now there was a lot that needed to be done. "Where in the hell am I now?" the man said in a near impeccable southern accent.
  8. Maximus's eyes opened wide as he saw his friend arise from the ground. His hand immediately fell away from his weapon and the defensive position he had placed himself in was replaced by a position showing pure surprise. "Rod...Rodriguez..." The Ekarder began, completely incapable of putting the words he wanted to say together, "But, how... That beast... it killed you?"
  9. "Fine then," Maximus started, never letting his eyes slip away from Rossephus or his hand sleep away from his spear. "If you have something to say, then say it. And while you're at it, you may as well release our comrades."
  10. Oarloff couldn't help but turn his panting into chuckling after seeing the dwarf. "Misturr Thunderbrew, you never tolded me you was a dwarf flower."
  11. Oarloff stopped when he heard Marcus yell out to him, suddenly realizing that he may or may not have knocked over quite a few of the group members. He hadn't ran for long, but he could easily feel a higher difficulty in breathing. Oarloff bent down to his knees and began panting, trying desperately to catch his breath. "Oh..." the half ogre managed to spit out in between gasps for air, "Did ... did me knock Misturr Thunderbrew over?"
  12. Thanks Hukuna, I can't tell ya how much I appreciate that. I have to say after playing some really dark characters like I do in some of the other RP's it's really nice to pick up a guy like Oarloff. I also have to agree with you, it makes it much easier to play and develop a character that may be a bit unorthodox when you're with a group of outstanding RPers and with a wonderful host, like I'm lucky to be with. Also thanks Notus, now I can't stop watching Avengers clips on youtube, >.<.
  13. Oarloff smiled at his new teacher, "Does you really mean it Misturr Marcus! Oh me is so happy. Me was never a good test taker, but maybe me did good because you never tolded me it was a test." Oarloff suddenly stopped, raised an eyebrow at Marcus and smirked, "Oh ho ho Misturr Marcus you sure is tricky..." Oarloff then pulled in his pants and sucked in his gut, "But you isn't going to trick me with a test again, no, no, no you isn't! This is a test of fastness isn't it Misturr Marcus!" Suddenly without warning Oarloff charged forward. He wasn't fast by any stretch of the imagination, but his ability to stay upright would have impressed just about anyone there. He wobbled too and fro, almost appearing to move faster from side to side than he was forward. The half-ogre barreled over anyone unlucky enough to get into his path, which may have included just about anyone since his path wasn't exactly straight.
  14. "I have a question..." Maximus spoke up. He had remained silent for long enough, but he could stomach this no more. "Why in the hell do you expect us to believe you. How many lies have you told and don't bring up the fact that you're men aren't armed or whatever, I mean the real lies, you beast. How many children search for their mothers because of your actions. How many wives grieve their husbands. I could care less to hear your account of the world. I could care less if you fancy yourself some savior doing what must be done or whatever the hell you're about to say. It means nothing to me. To me, you're a monster. Plain and simple." Maximus quickly placed his hand back on his lance, ready to draw it if he had to. "If you mean to kill me then get it the hell over with. If not then let me be on my way because honestly, their is absolutely nothing you could say that would make me join you. Nothing you could say that would make me change my opinion of you." Maximus stared directly into Rossephus's eyes while he said all of this, never taking his hand off of his lance.
  15. Oarloff barely moved from the punch and thought it was quite funny. He in turn responded with a punch to Marcus's soldier, though not knowing his own strength likely would be far more forceful than Marcus' punch.
  16. So did you want us to go through each and every bug type and analyze it separately here? Or should we just move on to talking about dark types?
  17. Oarloff smiled at the old brew master. "Me will cherish this forever Misturr Thunderbrew. Magni was a very, very nice boy me remembers. Me will miss him as well. "The ogre leaned down and embraced the dwarf, giving him another warm hug, unlike the hugs the ogre had given out at the inn and more like the hug he had given to his father after his home had been burnt to the ground. He then stood, placed the ashes in a safe spot in his bag and slung the hammer behind his back, right on top of his harp. The ogre then turned his attention to his new teacher, Marcus. "Me thinks Magni's hammer will be enough for me, though me is sorry for being unhappy." The ogre quickly smiled at the fire templar, "You is my teacher now, me should know better than to question you. But, you is right Misturr Marcus, this will be a very, very good training session."
  18. Would Oarloff know Odin's son? Abraham and Odin seem to be old pals, so what are the chances of Oarloff meeting him?
  19. Oarloff's face wrinkled when he heard Akuma speak, it nearly fell apart when Marcus spoke. He was deflated, all of the energy and desire to begin training, gone. All because of one word 'warhammer.' "Just because me is an ogre doesn't mean me can't use a sabre. Me is not a dumb beast." Oarloff blurted out, his usually jovial tone replaced by a more venomous one. "Me has been called a big oaf all of me life, but me is tired of it! Me just wants to help and me does not want to be treated as a simpleton." Oarloff glared away angrily for a moment before realizing the error of his ways. He had overreacted entirely, it wasn't their fault for suggesting a warhammer, they were merely trying to help. Oarloff quickly turned back to the group and tried to apologize and explain himself before he could really hurt any of his new friends feelings, "Me is sorry for going off like that. It's just... me has been called stupid and simple all of me life. They always say 'oh Oarloff can pick up that heavy thing, but don't trust him with the nice things cause he will break them.' Sometimes it makes me sad." Oarloff sighed, "But, I guess if it's the only way for me to help, then me can use a warhammer."
  20. "Oh, thank you so much Misturr Marcus, me just knew you would be the bestest teacher! Oooh me is just soo excited to learn how to be the strongestest fighter ever. I can be brave Misturr Marcus, even though me has never fought before me knows me can be brave if me has to." Oarloff continued on for a while, rambling about how he would be a great warrior and how he wouldn't run away as soon as trouble came. He fully intended to prove himself to his new teacher and intended on keeping talking until something stopped him.
  21. Alright well I guess the resisting ghost isn't going to fly for bug types, though we now have a serious problem. Bugs would be weak to 5 type, resist only 2 and would still be a bad defensive type. I think we all knew going in that some types would be considerably weaker than others, but right off the bat we have a type that's almost left in the dust. So how about it, do we leave bug where we left it or is their another type that bugs can succeed against?
  22. Oarloff smiled, he knew Marcus would be the right teacher. "Umm no me only has me harp for a weapon and me has never had a weapon. Papa said that me didn't need one at the bar," Oarloff looked away for a moment as though he was thinking of a dream he had never been able to fulfill, "Though me thinks me would be good with a sword. But, one of those small skinny swords that pirates always have in the books, oh yes they is my favorite!"
  23. I guess I worded my argument for ghost being not very effective poorly, but the hive mind wasn't the main point. The main argument was similar to why psychic would be weak against bugs, they don't really think. Since bugs are almost entirely instinctual I can't imagine them having any real reactions to fears (I think ghost types base most of their moves off of fear or 'magic' from the occult.) To clarify, because bugs rely entirely on stimuli the creepy and ominous aura that a ghost would rely on in battle would be gone, the bug would see what it really sees and react simple as that. The real reason was a balancing act of course, but I think it makes sense to an extent, though this is just my opinion.
  24. So looking through the bug typing I noticed something unique about just about all of them. The bug typing is incredibly agile. Of course there are exceptions such as forretress and shuckle, but as a whole the bugs (just like their real life compatriots) are difficult to squash. Now their biology will also play a role for them. Bugs as we all are aware have an exoskeleton rather than an endoskeleton. While we can imagine this making them more 'squishy' we can also imagine this making them physically stronger. Then we have the moth/butterfly pokemon. These generally rely on unique powders and tricky attacks. This gives us a nice distribution on what a bug can do, most are agile but incredibly susceptible to strong attacks (with notable exceptions such as Shuckle and Forretress), while on offense they can either play hard hitter or play the role of spore carrier. Now onto the type effectiveness. I'm going to sort things by Always Super effective, Generally Super Effective, Generally Neutral, Generally Not very effective, Always not very effective, Sometimes Immune, Always Immune. Something like Always Super Effective would be something that I'd imagine the biology of the type to be weak against, whereas something like Situationally Super Effective would be a nice match up in general strategy (something like the 'dark vs fighting' match up.) I'll also be sure to provide reasons and examples for each of my listings, though if something is 'Generally Neutral' I won't include it to save time. When attacking Bug: Always Super Effective: Fire (It's easy to imagine a bug as flammable), Poison (like Surge said bugs are highly damaged by pesticides) Generally Super Effective: Rock (Rock's may be capable of squishing bugs, but they have to be hit by said rock first, a bug's elusive nature should be capable of annoying a rock type for a decent period of time.), Flying (As an element air isn't a natural enemy of bugs, however many birds hunt bugs so I feel as though it works here), Fighting (Similar to the rock type a fist may be able to squash a bug, but it'll have to hit it first.) Generally Not very Effective: Fairy (Cutesy things generally don't like bugs.) Always Not very Effective: Psychic (Bugs rely on instinct and commands, not brain power. It only makes sense that the least intelligent type takes less damage from the mind controllers.), Ghost (If the bulk of a ghost's attacks relay on fear then how effective could they be against a mindless hive creature?) Immunities: None When Bug attacks: Always Super Effective: Grass (Bugs eat plants, simple) Generally Super Effective: Psychic (I like the idea that Psychic is weak to common fears, if a bug can't break your concentration I'm not sure what can), Fairy (Again the lovable cute mons have a fear of our icky bugs.) Generally Not Very Effective: Fire (It'd be difficult for a bug to actually make contact with a fire type), Poison (Poison types would also weaken a bug far too much for them to make contact and since they are already diseased would not feel adverse effects from spores) Always Not Very Effective: Steel (Bugs don't break steel, non-organics don't feel the effects of spores), Rock (Bugs don't break rocks either) Immunities: None
