  1. You could just imagine someone playing Reborn and beating their head against the wall with incessantly rising levels of frustration for hours after deciding to do a Water-type Monolocke... (best idea EVAR ) That is, until they're locked up in a hospital or some mental asylum, until their family decides to make an intervention, or until they're dead.
  2. Someone posted about it on the internet; therefore, it is now a thing.
  3. Not anymore; the event's being removed entirely in Episode XII.
  4. 'twas a joke made in jest. ...but kind of a shame that it does tend to be the case (Water-type starters just can't win, and some Pokémon are shamefully outclassed). Oh; also, I'd completely forgotten about Dragon Rage Charmeleon. Thanks for reminding me.
  5. That is an excellent point. That is, if you're using it on its own. It still handles a considerable extent of the adversaries you'll encounter overall, even if it does have trouble against Gym Leaders and bosses. It prevails against nearly all of the opposing Pokémon you face, and, as I'd mentioned earlier, all the Water-type starters are nigh-useless against the Gym Leaders in the beginning. Froakie's the only one that can still be useful even then (mainly with Quick Attack), and it gets even better throughout the game.
  6. ...I believe you meant to type that the affected Pokémon are poisoned by the corrosive mist (in the in-game script).
  7. Froakie doesn't need a good movepool to be bred with; it gains progressively stronger moves as you play through the game (albeit very slowly). Furthermore, its strength coupled with its ability is fantastic. In fact, its strength in Attack and Special Attack in addition to its excellent Speed is good on its own.
  8. Yeah; the Abra in the trade has been replaced by Litleo (what's really screwy is that you get a Linkstone itself before you get the opportunity to capture any of the Pokémon with whom it's actually used).
  9. I'll consider moving Abra up, but it really does take too much time to get that far into the game. I agree, but the point I was trying to make is that Blaziken's held in high regard for good reason; it does do high damage without taking much in exchange, even if it is only notorious due to all the excessive hype. I prefer Infernape over any of the other starters myself. Additionally, Greninja does only begin with Water-type and Normal-type moves, but it's certainly better than any of the alternatives, and it's still quite effective (certainly worthwhile) even dealing neutral damage between the two; what's exceptionally good about it is that it's reliable throughout the game, can avoid facing as much damage as it would otherwise have to take, and ends up being remarkably strong when it was already a capable Pokémon to begin with (and it's going to have even more use seeing how Gyarados has been removed). I also heard that the Azurill event has been altered. I'll take Diggersby into consideration; I've never used it myself.
  10. What with the new changes in the types of Pokémon available in the game, I've decided to create a tier list of my own detailing the usefulness of the Pokémon that are presently attainable. S Rank: A Rank: B Rank: C Rank: D Rank: F Rank: More will be added later, and you're always free to post suggestions; I'll take into account everything substantive that anyone may have to say.
  11. ...without the capability of evolution. List of Pokémon Removed: Abra Kadabra Alakazam Gastly Haunter Gengar Magikarp Gyarados Marill Azumarill Ralts Kirlia Gardevoir Azurill Roselia Budew Roserade Gallade
  12. Official List of Pokémon Added in Episode 12: Feebas
  13. The answer is obvious: Azumarill. ...it's much easier to level than Gyarados, actually.
  14. ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE SKYYYY!!!!111!1! And I actually didn't know that the Pledges had field effects until you mentioned it just recently. And I guess this means Water-type starters finally have a viable and accurate Special move!
  15. She's effectively the same, anyways, in that she starts the game with the intro and gives the region's new Trainers their first Pokémon. A character can fill both roles... but it would be interesting if her character also had some type of degree in Pokémon research and studies.
  16. Ame is the Professor (at least, for all practical purposes).
  17. I'd say he put it in a good position; it's really only average. It doesn't have much type coverage, and its usefulness doesn't compensate for its weakness.
  18. Sunny weather is temporary, and you're refusing to acknowledge that you're losing health with it every single turn, in addition to the fact that you're spending another party slot with another Fire-type you're not even going to use. On top of all that, you could have instead spent both those turns attacking rather than getting a 1.5 times boost at the expense of your health and giving your opponent a free turn. And Samurott is largely outclassed by Greninja (furthermore, Water-type starters suck early-game).
  19. Solar Power's really not that good, and Gyms don't have to have Pokémon of that type for some trainers' Pokémon to resist its moves well enough and have super-effective moves against it. It's especially useless in those recurring fights against Aster and Eclipse if you haven't leveled it well enough. Also, I personally didn't opt to waste Heart Scales on it. On the other hand, if you could get any Charizardite later on in the game, it might actually be more useful; maybe A-tier in the game. Moreover, Solar Power really isn't that useful. Especially with consideration for the fact that you have to waste a turn switching out from another viable Fire-type taking up another spot on your team just for Charizard to take damage in the first turn in the time that could have rather been spent making an attack. ...just realized I had already written that. And please don't double-post... and I might add that you appear to be quite childish, fanatical, and impulsive, even for me.
