I have both of these banned in every single Pokémon game that I play through, so I welcome this. It encourages people to strategize and beat boss characters on more equal footing, since NPCs can't pre-counterpick after a KO or survive almost indefinitely with Revives. I think they're saying that they're having trouble reading your jumbled mess of illegible text.

If your laptop has double uses assigned to its function keys, then there should be a key in the bottom left that says "Fn" or something similar. If you hold that button down while you press F8, then that should work. (Assuming that your focus is on the Pokémon Reborn window, of course) If that doesn't work, then there should be a "PrtSc" (Print Screen) key right above your Backspace key, which takes a screenshot of your, well, screen. If you go into MS Paint or something, you can paste this image there and then crop it and save it as an image file. (This latter method is how I create my Reborn screencaps)

Game Freak removed the ability to breed TM moves onto Pokémon in X and Y, so Reborn followed suit. It's a shame, because in doing so, Game Freak inadvertently ended up making Reborn harder.

My strategy was pretty much: Lead with Growlithe, get an Intimidate Switch to Mightyena, get an Intimidate (Garchomp KOs Mightyena) Send out Growlithe again, get an Intimidate Switch to something else, Garchomp (probably) KOs it Send out Growlithe again, get an Intimidate (Garchomp KOs Growlithe) Send out Cofagrigus, survive a -4 attack, use Will-O-Wisp Survive another -4 attack, use Curse (Cofagrigus probably goes down here) Send out something with decent Defense Tank hits until Garchomp goes down to burn + Curse

I've wondered this too, but I think Ame said that she didn't want to lock out all of the starters' hidden abilities, nor did she want to create corner cases only for Torchic/Froakie/Chimchar. So she just bit the bullet and accepted that certain overpowered starters would be available from the beginning of the game.
