but yeah gen 5 music is freaking incredible like it was the only game where i didn't want to leave a place 'cause the music was too good.

I agree with you. I honestly think gen 3 had the best music, even though gen5 is my fav.

the thing with RSE is that I can just about snap my fingers and start hearing the route 204 music in my head

used to be I could do that with the champion music too

for pure memorability in BW2 my favorite was the gym music once you'd beaten elsa (elesa?) but mostly I loved the way each gym had its own music and its own space, really, instead of everything following the strict 2d space divided into rooms. like look at burgh's in BW vs BW2--press-the-buttons vs. "let's see where this tunnel goes" like the whole that was animated was lovely.
