Number 1 is definitely the same. Entralink is just way too powerful. I also really like the rival battle theme, Iolia Valley, and the Agate Circus theme, which is the 2nd Sinnoh game corner remix. :]]

I'm pretty sure resetting for event shinies is possible. Mainly because each encounter is a fresh one, which makes it possible. Shinies still are reasonably rare in Reborn and Rejuv tho, so keep that in mind. :]
