Option A~ Having to raise a low leveled pokemon can be beneficial at times. Like if you want to ev train it, which can be easier. Ev grinding can level up high level members, which means you'll have to buy common candy. It's also pretty god damn funny when you are this deep in the game and you encounter a Lv.1 Beldum. Pickup is fantastic to have, the pickup table was better in older episodes, people were makin it rain w/lucky eggs and evolution stones. It's still possible to make a pickup army, just remember that it was nerfed severely.

Magnezone is always a good choice, unless your team is already heavily weak to ground. You can catch a Magnemite in the abandoned powerplant, which is where you are going next.
