In development of my fan-game I recently realized the possibility of overhauling graphics from Gen 3 to Gen 5, due to being so early in development. For example, here is one of the characters, Connor: Here's the mugshot so you can better compare: Before: After: This means the game would use B/W styled tiles, and B/W styled characters. Animated Pokemon would also be introduced. However, I realized that many people including myself appreciate the nostalgia and familiarity of the 3rd Gen games. The animated Pokemon would be either 5th gen (2d Animated) or 6th (3d Animated). So I suppose the question is, do you prefer Gen 3 Graphics or Gen 5 Graphics?

Jacob I don't know how you'll deal with 17 conflicting stories without some plot holes and... Gaps. I think it would be cool if this worked out how you plan, but ultimately the person who invents the personality and feelings of characters should be you. That means its easier for you to relate them to other characters, rather than them being purely standalone. That being said, I'm sure this would be really cool if you pull it off how you're planning.

Those mountains surround the route and act as scenery, that's why I didn't bother mapping them much. You can't actually see far up them, but hey, a rock or two wouldn't hurt.

Eh, okay. Here's 4 of mine. - Route 1 Bottom: here(Had to seperate maps to reduce lag) - Route 1 Top: here (my screenshot software doesnt notice autotiles properly, hence the grid): - Inner Mt. Vejyr: here (Centre room, again no autotiles are recognized so it appears that there are gaps in the floor where there is actually steam clouds): - Celeste City: here (I've noticed the trees on top of the Gym, but players cant see that so ehhhhh.) Gen 3 tiles because Gen 3 <3 Please don't comment on the autotile screenshot issues ._.

Hurricane and Thunder have 100% accuracy in the field, but the Gym Leader doesn't have those sets (luckily for you)

I actually like that idea, I might throw it in. If I do I'll make a lazy trainer for it so they appear unique.

I'm pretty experienced with RPG Maker XP now so if you have any questions on how to make a specific event, or just general help, I'd be glad to lend a hand!

One month later and all the mapping is done along with most of the sidequests. I focused a lot on sidequests and even introduced "Guilds" which act as literal sidequest parlors for awesome items and Credits, the new income system you can use to buy rare Pokemon and Items. Think Skyrim style, for example, the Thieves Guild. That aside, here's the title screen for Episode 2. Also, I'm busy making a "Cloud" Field *spoiler**spoiler**spoiler* which is self explanatory, you're fighting in clouds. Are there any ideas or cool little features you'd like to see in this field effect?

I'm only adding in general trainers and grunts at the moment as a bit of fun. It would be neat for someone to be playing and then to come across their own trainer.

Actually I never thought I'd go on this thread but that meme problem is actually pretty annoying. If I see one more rare pepe which isn't actually rare then I'm going to stab something then look at puppies to calm down.

She's actually Yuki's, so I'll take a step back for my own safety. Anyway on a serious note (can this even be serious) my husbando is Kamina from Gurren Lagann, for obvious reasons. I haven't been around long enough to know how Ame resembles Yuno, but I think I'm better off not knowing.

Actually, I'll be taking Yuno. Other than that it would be Kurisu from Steins Gate or Kurumi from Date a Live.

I hope they don't change much, I for one am super happy about this. I didn't expect them to just let the community decide for them. It's been a long time coming though, 17 years since the first one and in my opinion the fan remaster wasn't that great. I'd rather they just improve and optimize existing features rather than adding more.
