  1. Well to be fair I most certainly did go insane, I just eventually went sane again. Realized I can add a couple ghosts in at this point so I think I might do that. Shelly's at a disadvantage but Shade has the best ghost ever and I will still have litwick at that point so idk how this is gonna run. I'm nervous about kiki since I'm sure everyone will have knock off.
  2. Growing pains- So after beating Julia one has to train up their pokes and find more ghosts for the mono... there are none so cheating until that time happens and I get a butterfree to help me find some black sludge. That doesn't happen which isn't too bad since florinia is gonna be easy. I have ice, fire and poisonous ghosts what could go wrong.... I make my way over to obsidia and join flobot to save the city. You all know how this song and dance goes. Fight victoria where ghosts rule. Hooray for Amateratsu as he's mvp and I fight through the slums. The scrafty team is actually hard as hell since they all have dark moves and one of them has toxic which is fair since Scraggy learns toxic at the lvl TM06. Amateratsu quickly loses mvp status and the butterfree from before earns its place if it was a ghost. Farenheit is able to take down two of them with sludge bomb but he is one shot every attempt until they all start focusing on Amat. This plan usually fails and we wait for Sorbet to evasion hax herself to max. Finally thats done. For some reason I head down to the pier and see Amaria and best bro Cain. Since he's my rival he wants to fight. I lose this fight a couple times since Hardcore means well... hardcore. Attempt number three and I find out icy wind gets a boost. Sorbet ends this match quickly. I also congratulate Cain on evolving his oshawatt into a dewott. I didn't see it happen it was so fast. (you may want to change its animation in the Overworld to a dewott since yeah) A few random trainers later and all my ghosts are 25 which is bad since now theyre all overdosing on common candies. Fern's fight is fun since Farenheit can ohko all of them but thats no fun so I let Amateratsu and Sorbet have their hits in too. Since everyone should be allowed to embarass Fern once. And Florinia. three days fighting the same person makes you a little agitated, although some of this is my fault. I wont go over every bad play since theres a lot but the final attempt 100+ goes like this. Everyone has an oran berry except butterfree who has a rawst berry. I lead with Farenheit who OHKOs cacturne. We put grotle to sleep then spam sludge bomb on him. motherf$%^$-ing Gourgeist. shadowsneak is the bane of my life. Send in free and use supersonic and it uses will-o-wisp which is countered by the rawst berry. Thanks to RNJesus it keeps hitting itself while gust is going. it snaps out and uses a shadow sneak but its too late and it falls. Breloom vs Free is a bad match as it goes down just as fast. Finally is Cradily. Cradily is supersonic-ed and keeps hitting itself until it finishes off free. Turns out its kinda fast and OHKOs Amateratsu and Sorbet. My punching bad zebra-face is taken out while I heal Farenheit. He comes in and uses confuse ray and RNJesus approves and sludge bomb poisons cradily while I'm at full health. Its whittled down and thank christ is this nightmare over. Time to fight the elite four... oh this is only the second gym. I'm going to lie down now. The mvp of this episode is well represented in this song that I wrote just for him.
  3. Alright thanks guys. But I'm actually doing a mono run so the haunter was thrown in my file. I'll keep hunting trubbish.
  4. So i've been looking around to get a black sludge for my haunter using a compound eyes butterfree. RNG may not be in my favor but it had a nugget on it which was weird. Then I started hunting trubbish and still nada. Is black sludge just not easily found. (using hardcore mode if that makes a difference)
  5. I tried doing the run but ended up not doing it for one reason or another. Charizard and Free are sending me on the feels train. Good luck
  6. I was told bug monos are surprisingly fun. Poison isn't terribly hard either I hear. Fire mons are easy. Fighting monos are easy. Maybe try psychic or electric?
  7. Wow you'd be a harsh giving tree. Since 4/6 of those mons can kinda suck it. Yeah I hear this version is pretty tough and since I've beaten normal mode like 15 times I thought this would be much more fun. Snorunt is going to fall off after gym... 1 and litwick doesn't evolve until like gym 5 or 6. So ghastly is going to start carrying the team. Flo-bot might be doable but I fear for corey...
  8. So as the title suggests I decided on a ghost run in the hardcore mode of reborn. Seems like a fun type without the OPness of my previous runs. Fire mono and fighting mono were wayyy to easy. Especially when machamp can take a hit from Arceus unresisted. Anywho... heres the lineup Leading the charge is... Fahrenheit the Ghastly- Levitating cause he's a ghost/Timid. Thunderbolt/Sludge bomb/Hypnosis/Confuse Ray Amaterasu the Litwick- Flashing all the fires/Timid. Flameburst/Energy Ball/Wow/Smog Sorbet the Snorunt- Moody as f%$^/Timid. Powder snow(always freezes)/Icy wind/Double team/Bite Blitzle the punching bag since three mons with low health isn't fun This team is pretty solid. Blitz got boxed after the battle. The story starts off with a bang huehuehue and I get my ghastly from Ame. (it happens) Ghosts take all trainers hits baring the random dark attacks. Fern has the advantage since its raining but we call out Mr. Fahrenheit to sludge everyone. He levels at the speed of light. The factory is most kind to the team. Aster/Eclipse having evolved pokes is different and Litwick is able to eat all the fire moves while burning buzz and smogging Mag until its poisoned and both die. One segue later I'm at Julia's gym and I beat her on the 13th 1st try. Magnemite vs Litwick and he misses his first attack... Litwick does not. Chinchou comes out with a watergun but runs away with energy ball switching to emolga. I switch to punch sponge to heal up and send out snorunt. The rest of the match is snorunt versus everyone. Moody makes this battle an emotional roller coaster for me. Evasion is eventually maxed out. (Sorbet would be Neo in another life) and she freezes chinchou and electrode soo you know how that song and dance goes. Finally I have the whatchamacallit badge and get ready to leave but that's where part one ends. Who likes theme songs? No one? Well I do so here's my theme song. (p.s if anyone can teach me how to add the cool pics so I can show more I'd be thankful)
  9. Tales of Zestria was... Underated yes. The first half where the hero questions if using abilities (like a god) to help people and other sorts of interesting debates like should super powerful entities pick sides during human wars was interesting but all of this goes away in the second half. Where it becomes generic anime blandness where good are the humans and evil are the monsters. The villain even had the most potential out of all the tales villains. (Tales of Xillia's Gaius was a great villain turned opposing force who was properly utilized so he doesn't count.) The gameplay in Zest was awesome like the best in the series (that camerawork... not so much). The armor system was borderline useless unless you wanted to do the challenges. Music was pretty good. It got a 6/10 which imo wasn't 100% accurate but close. If the game had been the series first entry then the game would be like a 9.5. But since its number like 10 I think a 7-7.5 would be fair since a lot remained the same. But if you've never played an action jrpg then this is your bud or Radiata Stories which was a pretty undersold yet phenomenal ps2 game. Too many ps2 games to count.
  10. Maybe it was miss rainbow. That'd actually make a lot of sense.
  11. Okay so I don't know why it took so long but I'm sure by now everyone has heard the song the early meteors sing whenever they gang up on you. My question is who came up with it?It sure as shit wasn't Solaris. I doubt Sirius would make them do anything like that. Some might bet Taka and yeah he's silly but not that silly. So who is paying them to sing that nonsense before attacking. (I still find it funny btw)
  12. Hello again. Doing a Hardcore ghost run which is a little hard to pull off was wondering if I can get three mons. Female Snorunt, Litwick with energy ball if you got one laying around and most importantly Ghastly with thunderbolt /sludge bomb. EVs don't matter. Timid pokes are fine. Thanks in advance. Don't forget giratina and aegislash
  13. If you stun tent in the beginning and bulk up blaze then you may stand a decent chance but yeah more mons more fun. Head back to the beryl ward and do the growlithe egg event. You could get a pretty decent mon from the egg ranging from azurill to the ever so dangerous Axew.
  14. I'm black too. But being black and talented doesn't mean you get to be a jerk. Humility is something that has been shown in the black individuals our community is most proud of. You shouldn't showcase yourself as great. You simply need acknowledge it. If you mean what you say you mean people will get it, at least the ones who matter. In my possibly worthwhile opinion anyway.
  15. I loved his music. Still like a lot of what comes out and GOOD music is an awesome label. Buuuuuuuuut he needs to tone down the ego and maybe people wouldn't watch the video while second guessing a lot of the more solid and positive arguments for him.
  16. And as far as the "responsible" part goes, again, it is the reverse: imagine a group of 100 people. They are all expert battlers. Of those 100 people, who are all equally skilled at Pokemon, the 8 who prove to be the most responsible are chosen to be gym leaders. This is how it should work in theory, although there are exceptions and, again, Reborn purposedly deconstructs the notion (although it goes too far at times, as detailed in my earlier posts). I don't know the world the show has created or the manga for that matter but being chosen for the league which at the end of the day is a competition doesn't necessarily make you responsible. Unless of course they were told at that time they are in fact responsible for parts of the region. If that's the case then I have no argument but the only ones who know the levels of responsibility would be Ame, the champion, E4 and the leaders. The leaders have been shown to protect in the cases of Julia and Florinia mainly. But otherwise I don't want to place the burden on a character that never accepted it. Example being I don't think Shelly at any point in time was told should dangerous individuals attack your town you need to take them down otherwise she wouldn't have ran from the cops. In fact why would any gym leader run from the cops if their jurisdiction was lower than an insane orphanage runner. Why would they be locked in an orphanage if their rank dictated they could take care of themselves?
  17. One strategy that might work is RNGods helping out with a moody snorunt. Then by the time Chinchou comes out assuming it isn't first you could end up one shotting it.
  18. Sorry if my quote isn't perfect but... Upon unmasking Corey Corey- You just had to do this in front of the girl... Heather-Dad?.. I knew you were a a jerk but I didn't think you were evil Flies away* Chief- Corey but the gym trainers are among reborn's most trusted "Citizens" If the police are calling them citizens then how are they responsible for things the police can't control. Also back to the argument that because they're good with pokemon that means they handle pokemon related issues is like saying the NRA should be put on issues of domestic violence too because they have sharpshooters and are well versed in gun knowledge. Someone can't be responsible for certain things unless the responsibility is specifically placed on them. I agree leaders should be involved but if they were hired for competition then it isn't fair to say they're responsible.
  19. To be fair I'm sure they were probably afraid of the soul collecting shadow that grins from his stomach when he battles. Serious note is if not the gym leaders then some other force. One could make the argument that involving the gym leaders in political and domestic affairs is akin to involving Professional athletes in riot control. Just because they're strong doesn't mean they're responsible. I just think that since all the pokemon regions have been related (since ash goes all over the world) by now some larger force of trainers should of been established to deal with these insane organizations instead of relying on minors because... anime.
  20. I know they actually finally stepped up against plasma but I feel its mentioned several times in the show and games that the Champion plays a part in keeping the region safe so doesn't that (by default) include the elite four at least if not the leaders? I think its just wasted potential to not have more story given to these characters especially since pokemon games aren't exactly known for their depth.
