  1. So for my next run of the game since I've done monos, normals and all other types of jazz, I'd like to roll with a starter not part of the 18. Most people have the rule about no trading until gym six but that kind of makes it not a starter. I'd like a certain ghosty that isn't available till maaaad late. Just want to know how people do it since I can never find any takers.
  2. Yeah. I feel like Adrienne will be worlds easier than a flying type. Only one mon defends against flying as far as fighters go. But for you're bug mono, I can't imagine steel types giving you any freedom.
  3. Radomus' gym actually hurts him. Since psychic becomes a partial rock attack fighting types that would normally be worried now have no fear. Also I don't believe any of his pokes have a counter for ghosts. Hardest gym I feel most will agree on Charlotte. A well IV trained fast and hard hitting team. Unless you're team has specific advantage over her she normally ruins days.
  4. Uhh the rattata that graduated from Mickey Mouse academy. duh.
  5. Noel definitely was fun to knock down a peg with this team. Serra was tough but only because I was raising a pokemon while fighting her. The fighting mono hasn't been very rewarding.
  6. So as I'm doing my mono fighting run, I'm bound to run into fun and less than fun battles. Less than fun being the poison leader, thank god there were two and the psychic leader (actually only took two tries. Fighting types all have dark attacks luckily.) I'm now about to ruin Luna's day with one of my favorite pokes Machamp who thanks to Honest trailers has the name Goro. I remember my first playthrough when he, Charizard and Gyrados were the dream team. We take out most of the team and her last one to battle was Sableye vs Machamp.... This was before dual chop was a move and knock off wasn't in the movepool. I hated her so much. I will enjoy this battle. I will enjoy this as it will not be over quickly.
  7. Jynx. It looks like a living racial slur. Other than that just one other... ummmm.... OH RIGHT! every fairy type ever made...
  8. If I was champion. I'd have the elite four do double battles, meaning first two elite four and second two team up to do two on one battles. Didn't work my ass off so someone could snatch the crown without hassle.
  9. They're trolling you. Fern's referred to as the cool cat. He even gives you some solid advice around Charlotte's gym. I guess he's a gym buddy.
  10. Idk about the resignation thing. Simon seems to be the only one to pull that off and he's not exactly thrilled. Cal I guess did too but he's got a gym leader and a protagonist bodyguard.
  11. I haven't used Alakazam in reborn yet due to it coming so late and my team is usually just about finished at that point. Gardevoir's dual coverage is pretty good and her physical def along with her hp are both 20 points higher than Alakazam making her physical survivablity way higher. Alakazam dies if something farts in its general direction buuuuuuut his speed and power are no joke. Use wise fairy coverage wins since poison types and steel types aren't the most common among enemy usage while fighting types and dark types are everywhere. Plus Lin and Sapphira use dragons, I'd rather be ready for them.
  12. Thanks, I actually got the medicham pretty early but I chose Gallade because of (mainly design) but also fighting types generally suck with defense and special def. So i swapped.
  13. I'd like to follow the legitimate route for this run. So I'm staying away from game to game trades.
  14. I chose him as a starter once and was not disappointed at all. Hariyama's defenses are inexistant. Heracross I've heard good things about but I hate his 4x fly weakness and lack of Chesnaught's beautiful defense. Also, all of my guys have bracers on to raise stats, so when they come off I need helpful items to boost abilities.
  15. So I decided whats fun these days, a mono type. I didn't want it to be too easy so Blaziken was swapped for Monferno. My team struggled on the ice gym (mainly because I was trying to level Gallade at the same time. I was going to add Poliwrath to the sqaud to help with Charlotte but i don't know. I have a real issue with finding a way to deal with flying types since I can't get lucario for a while. Here's the team, suggest away. Soar/Emolga- yes I know its cheating but fighting types of diversity are scarce plus he's only here to deal with Arceus. nuzzle/sash makes life easy hehe. (He's out with my next fighter) Boom/Monferno- Adamant/Iron Fist (Mach punch, flame wheel, close combat, fire spin) Spin is going for acrobatics. Does iron fist affect close combat, I've no idea. Justice/Gallade- Careful/Justified(yeah I'm pretty clever) (psycho cut, swords dance, close combat, leaf blade) I think the set is pretty standard, might learn trick room over swords dance since this is a team game and switch out for SD depending on situation. Vile/Croagunk- Adamant/Dry skin (Sucker punch, rock smash, swagger, mud bomb) Her movepool is pretty bad. When she hits 49 poison jab will replace mud bomb maybe. Dry skin helps so much but Gunk shot wouldve been nice too... Goro/Machamp- Hasty/Guts (guts may be switched to no guard when dynamic punch becomes a thing. (knock off, dual chop, cross chop, bulk up) Not the best set I guess but he's where I noticed a specific lack of rock attacks as this team is painfully unprepared to fight fliers. Hood/Scrafty- Docile/Intimidate (brick break, strength, crunch, High jump and crash into a god dam pile of nothing) That move can't possibly have an accuracy of 90 and miss everything ever. Strength is in there because I never really cared for hm mules. Like I said team game so while difficult I ask that everyone consider that hms will be on the team since there are a lot of times where an hm mule would be detrimental to living and stuff. My possible joiners- Chespin (I'm a grown man but that's the cutest starter minus Charmander), Poliwag is a nice rain bud to compliment Croagunk but hurts Mongerno. Lucario since Lucario amiright? Maybe Hawlucha since idk diversity and I already have two buds who can't look ground types in the face. P.s wish me luck on Radomus.
  16. Terra wasn't bored shes %&*%ing crazy. Hilda I'm with you, Radomus while entertaining does not have my faith what so ever. If I were to guess on a meteor leader in the league its definitely Titania since what I've seen of her resembles Corey's story. Other than that, I think meteor is more fighting leaders than recruiting them. Unless they've taken this time we've been locked out the city to take in older leaders. That'd suck huh?
  17. Best starter is Blaziken. I've literally had entire matches where he was outclassed due to typing and he wins. Its pretty OP for a starter. Greninja didn't quite do it for me even with protean. Charizard is my favorite but that 4x rock tho. Chesnaught straight drilled through teams for me. Spiky shield-> leech seed-> spiky shield-> attack. In double battles I had him drain teams to death. He even (albeit with massive help) took down Charolotte's squad. He did not die and this was pre-nerf. All this information though is relatively useless since one pokemon cant handle every situation even if it can handle very tough ones. Pick the one you like.
  18. Shinies in this game are different so that Ninetails may end up looking like Naruto for you know.
  19. I like the idea of the protagonist not being unstoppable. Ame make his Garchomp mega evolve after the full restores.
  20. This story is so fire. Keep it coming!
  21. Without bug plate arceus I don't actually see this as winnable. You may want to bite the bullet and get a water type.
  22. First run I had Charizard/Gyrados. Gyrados actually survived several electric attacks thanks to having a battery. Runs 2-all of them Emolga. The power of nuzzle beats even gods (wink)
  23. Team: Geneis Goal: Fixing the world Leader: Uno Fuerte 2nd in command: Richard Strong Signature: Plus sign (like used on hospitals) 6 admins: three that lead field work, other three to do (pet projects) History: Leader was a soldier and so disgusted by war he wants to end fighting and is constantly killing gym leaders Legendary: Jirachi (fake) Dialga (real target). The idea for the leader is to split the team into announcing hunt for jirachi so people like the protagonist try to keep him away from it while his second command and second team of admins hunt for Dialga to go far enough back in time to take down the roots of the last few great wars and setup so the admins can properly lead the world. Sorry if the story is incoherrent and what not. Pokemon games aren't easy to write haha.
