[Potential SM Spoilers] SM Trading Thread
crashteamalphing replied to krim's topic in Pokémon Fan Club
Your friend's OT is 065535 or 2^16 - 1, the maximum value of a 16bit variable, also the max OT of past gens. Is it possible to manipulate the OT legally in this gen yet? Anyway that and the fact that it's shiny with what I suppose are max IV is more than suspicious, I wouldn't trust it to be legal.- 4 replies

Hillary Clinton's chances to win are 71%, almost same as the chance of Focus Blast hitting.

71.4% from FiveThirtyEight. Other pollsters give Clinton a higher chance of winning, though.

I wish you play, I wish you fight...
crashteamalphing replied to Amethyst's topic in News and Announcements
You're right, not to mention that Lin appears to have some sort of telepathic ability a bit skin to Lord Voldemort in HP, so she could know what Taka did. Unless the decision whether or not to battle Taka somehow influences whether the Meteors know what he did or not, and would decide his fate - which would be really cool. But since we KNOW that someone will die, either that happens later, or Taka dies regardless of our actions (which would make our decision whether to battle him or not pointless) or someone else dies entirely. Which is why I don't really like the idea of him dying.UNLESS Ame said someone will die but it could be different people based on our decisions: either Taka dies if we didn't battle him, or someone else (Solaris, Fern, Blake, who knows) gets punished otherwise. -

I think Fern and Blake's usefulness has expired for the story since we already battled them several times. Besides Team Meteor and Lin will be pretty annoyed at their failure and apparent carelessness/disrespect. Since only one will die I predict Lin will kill one of the two in front of the other, so that the surviving one understands that it's not a game and gets his shit together. I hope Blake dies because his character is less developed than Fern. Another possibility is simply that Solaris gets killed by Lin since they don't seem to share their world view and Solaris is kind of an outsider now. Or Taka gets killed by Solaris himself, although that's just crazy. Basically somebody in Team Meteor will pay for their recent failures. I think it's too soon for Dr. Sigmund to die because clearly some other characters deserve Lin's wrath more at this point. -
I have tears in my eyes as I write this, but it's a decision that was long overdue, and I couldn't keep avoiding it forever, so here is: I've turned 25 this month, and these past weeks have been realizing just how much I had wasted my life away in video game addiction, internet addiction, and wanting to get away from real life in general. I've made a series of decisions that have changed my life drastically. I can't remember the last time I felt this good. Now that I got rid of this "internet life", I am truly able to enjoy the real one, but it came at a very big price to pay. I hate giving up projects. Even though my progress over the last year in this game was excruciatingly slow, I never gave up and kept hoping for better days. I still very much think that this could have been a great game, and that I was capable of doing it, as I've shown until now -bugs aside as those can be fixed by some rounds of testing. I can't say I'll never work on this game anymore ever, although it's likely. I hate saying "never", and I hate quitting, but I have to learn to quit if things get unhealthy, as they are now. If I ever wanted to get back at this however, I would do two things different: 1) I would assemble a team of people to work on the game together. I can do everything on my own. But it's too slow that way, and also the result is of poorer quality. A game is a serious project, and I was insane to think I could get a game of the quantity and quality that I wanted- by doing it all alone. 2) I'm the creator of this game, and I have a name in real life. The fact that I was unable to acknowledge that by putting it in the credits, shows that I struggle to be proud with this game. A project that I'm not proud of is destined to fail. I know I've let you down, and I wanna thank all of you for supporting me through the last year or so. I will not hang around on this forum, so if you have questions or just want to contact me, best send me an email at AshPantherG@gmail.com. Pokemon Reborn is truly an incredible game, the one that inspired me to create my own fangame, and the community was unbelievable. I wish good luck to Amethyst for finishing her great game, and good luck to all of you in your life. Good bye.

I created a status update in the OP. I actually haven't touched the game for almost a month now, so I'm still at the very beginning, and nowhere close to a release. But at least now it's out there, so if you feel like checking my progress you can, and hopefully I'll get around to working on it again soon.

It could really take a while before I finish v4. One thing though, is that I'd rushed to upload v3 and didn't pay enough attention to bug fixing, so I hope to correct that and have more stable releases in the future. I'll probably ask for beta testing in the future, I'll let you know when that happens.

Sorry, which character is that? I don't remember this line. Also I usually don't check the forums too much but I came across this topic from Ame's twitter feed. The story touched me, I kept thinking about it the entire day in fact. As a physicist I like to deal with statistics and numbers first and foremost, but this kind of story reminds me that it's good to look at the faces behind the numbers sometimes. Good luck in everything you attempt Ame, and I hope that you'll be able to appreciate everything that life gives you, the good things and the bad things, life is wonderful because each individual's path is unique, and has never been walked before. It should be lived fully until the very end, if only by curiosity.

thanks, I'll make sure that you are forced to pick up the badge, since indeed getting badges is totally necessary to progress in the game, and I shouldn't leave the choice whether or not to pick it up to the player. the same thing holds for the running shoes, which you'll be forced to pick up in the next version. I kind of wanted to leave some autonomy to the players, but I have to learn in which situations autonomy is desired and when it is not, lol.

Great topic! 6) is an interesting point! I wanted to go the Reborn way and create as many events as possible, but having rare Pokemon in the tall grass, or even having "rare" patches of grass with unique Pokemon sounds like a great idea that should be expanded on! 5) is also great. I had the idea a while back of GTA style collectable items spread across the map that you could find (and that wouldn't be searchable with ItemFinder), and an explicit % of the game beat written somewhere, so that completionists could try to beat the game 100%!

I started in April/May 2014, 1st episode released in July/August 2014, 2nd in April 2015 and 3rd in July 2015. The version 4 has more content to make than the previous three. There were quite a few times when I didn't work on the game for weeks. Definitely did it casually whenever I felt like it. I'm trying to work faster, which is done by having more experience. But I can't say I'll try to work more, because I'm a student and I have exams. I don't have any estimate, because my motivation is fluctuating heavily, and so is my free time available to work on it. I just don't like making promises that I can't hold. I can say that the version 4 is definitely going to happen sometime, since when I start something I tend to finish it. Also thanks for the feedback on the game everyone, I take everything that is said into account to try to improve, fix and rebalance the whole thing for v4.

There's a new Pokemon available in the current release that should help a lot for Mizuki (you can check the Pokemon availability list in the OP, which I added yesterday). Unfortunately, I made a mistake which wasn't fixed in v3.1, and will require a v3.2, because it's just too big (I'm surprised no one mentioned it): You can't find any wild Pokemon in the Sawmill or in the Dam Valley, because I forgot to edit the terrain tags... Also about that list; it made me realise Aegis only offered two Fighting types up to this point... So I'll probably add another one somewhere before releasing v3.2.
