  1. Hi there! Long time no see I've finally finished more or less the version 2 of the game. There's still some things I want to add (more events and side-stories), but I guess it can wait for version 3. The updated link with the game is found in the original post. Time frame for the next version? Well it depends on my motivation/availability. For example, here I didn't work on the game between October and December, and again between February and April. I'll try to work consistently on it without breaks, but I'm not a fast worker. I also have to accept to produce average work sometimes to fasten up the production.
  2. There may be similarities between the two universes but they are simply fortuitous. I did draw a lot of inspiration from another universe, though, although that was unintentional as well since I try to create something original.
  3. the champion is the player him/herself, who suffers from severe personality disorder and thinks he/she is a new trainer starting on an adventure. The player is actually one of Dr. Connal's patient (who is actually a good doctor but is perceived by the player as an abusive doctor). Dr. Connal attempts to use shock therapy on the player by letting the player take on the Reborn League, with the complicity of everyone (this is referenced by Anna who says the player is glowing, she obviously cannot reveal that the player is the champion, but she tries to give the player some confidence in order to make it easier for the player to believe that he/she is the champion, when the time comes.) the entire game builds up to the point when you must go into the champion's room, and instead of the champion there is Dr. Connal and Ame who explain everything to the player, but the shock therapy doesn't work and the player goes crazy instead. Fin. Yes, this is all taken from Shutter Island.
  4. actually the radioactive dose is negligible. also it's near impossible to die from potassium poisoning because if you eat all the bananas necessary (which is a lot more than 12) either you will vomit because you ate too fast, or you will eat too slowly and at no given time will you reach a lethal concentration of potassium in your body. that doesn't mean you cannot die from bananas! You can slip on one and fall off a cliff. You can also choke to death on one. You can also inject a syringe full of banana purée in your bloodstream and block your arteries, or extract all the potassium in the bananas and inject yourself a lethal dose. You can also mix your bananas with cyanide, or get crushed to death by a million bananas. The possibilities are endless for creative minds who want to go out in style!
  5. I left my comments in bold in your quote because it's easier. for further info, I've finished the maps of next release and am currently working on the events and scripts. I couldn't work on the game for a month because of exams.

Cool. I hope that game keeps on updating, the first part was good (except the dojo puzzle, that was unnerving)

  8. episode 5 : Pokemon Reborn- Episode V: Escape! from Reborn City and poison in vain is actually episode 6. episodes 1-3 don't seem to have a name, and episode 7 I couldn't find...
  9. in fact it can most likely live two draco meteors given the sharp drop in SpA. I don't play VGC or doubles but given the reactions I assume that even in that metagame, Pachirisu is less than common. facing a trainer with a chomp and a pachirisu in-game in reborn would be a nice easter egg... even better with a pachirisu and a gyarados in fact, better matchup.
  10. yeah, I know you did, that's how you reappeared in your bed when you lost. I will need to make it so the bed becomes a healing point only once you receive your first pokemon. before that, clicking on the bed will only say that you took a nap, but no Pokemon will be healed.
  11. this is something I hadn't planned O_O. I think you tried to heal your Pokemon in your bed at the beginning of the game, thus setting a new health point there, therefore when you lost you reappeared there instead of the Pokemon center. Then, I imagine that both floors in your house are on the same map, so appearing in your bed on the first floor triggered the event with your grandmother on the bottom floor. assuming this is true, I must delete that possibility to heal your Pokemon at the beginning of the game to fix the problem. As for your save file, you aren't particularly far away into the game (not like it's possible to be far anyway...) so you could just start over. If you don't want to encounter this bug, either 1) don't heal your pokemon in your bed at the beginning of the game 2) if you already did, avoid all trainers and go heal your pokemon at the pokemon center in oshawott square, or go to your house to trigger the cinematic the correct way.
  12. I don't know, maybe delete the music "Mystery Dungeon Primal Palkia Remix" in the BGM Audio folder, since it's the one that plays when you win a battle. If it doesn't work, please tell precisely when the game crashes and if there is any error message. Alternatively, you could accidentally set fire to your home, and buy a PC with the insurance money.
  13. yeah so I've definitely reached the end of game and done everything (I think, unless you can already fight this gang in the north of the city). I really like the atmosphere and the story of the game, and I like some of your original ideas (the help center, the time machine) which help make the game unique.
  14. Thanks for the feedback, I'll make it so your party is healed after that battle (it is only healed when you lose currently...). Also, I'll add some broken furniture in the building with the Snubbull. But there is already some explanation as to why that Snubbull is here in the form of a letter.
  15. Yes. like I said I was at the gym, once you exit the room after beating the leader you get the end of episode message, and it crashed before the map could load. A problem with PokemonField or something, iirc. EDIT: I did try again and got the same mistake. Also, Reverse Candies are too expensive imo.
  16. great game, I went until the first badge but upon beating the gym leader and receiving the end of episode message, an error occured and my game crashed before I could save... it's really too bad because I'm never going to be able to beat her again, it was so hard... also the only reason I was able to beat her in the first place was because of a bug where if you faint an opponent pokemon, you must attack once before the next pokemon comes on. so you can pretty much heal your entire team, switch to the adequate pokemon, set up with x items, and finally use a boosting move before the next pokemon comes on, at which point you are set to sweep...
  17. don't forget the damage rolls, those are also dictated by an RNG. Speed ties also dictated by an RNG. Attacks like Assist, Metronome too. Some abilities like Moody. Magnitude's power. there's a lot more to change than what you said if you want to completely erase any trace of RNG.
  18. probably not, since it is not a problem with Sucker Punch, but with Metronome summoning Sucker Punch. Which is why it's not a very important bug, because it is very situational, but I guess Metronome in general is worth having a second look at. Sucker Punch actually works in Aegis in all conventional situations, as it does in Reborn (Byron's poochyena knows sucker punch and it works with him). Ame implemented a fix for sucker punch long before e11 iirc.
  19. the thing is I can't just copy-paste reborn's latest episode scripts, since I have many Aegis-specific scripts that wouldn't be carried over. That's why I have scripts from the latest reborn episode at the time I started creating my game. I copy new scripts sections from Reborn one by one only, so I will still have some of the new bug fixes. anyway I don't see anyone mentioning Wish is broken in the Bug Reporting section, which means it was either never broken, or nobody noticed it. From my point of view both are equivalent. A bug that no one notices isn't worth fixing imo.
  20. yeah, but it's up to you to test it. just give a trainer 2 pokemon with wish as the only attack. that way the AI will make them switch and you can see for yourself. I use the scripts from episode 11 so unless you fixed it afterwards or I am crazy and imagining things, or I somehow magically changed something without even trying, reborn's got the same problems.
  21. I just don't like the advice they give about "infinite potential", because for me as a physicist, an infinite potential is this : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Particle_in_a_box So the advice really confused me more than it helped me.
  22. Yeah I am, it's great if you can fix it, though I assume there are more important issues at hand. For example, in my game, Wish doesn't work as planned. If the opponent uses it and switches out next turn, there is an animation glitch, and the next mon doesn't get the HP. And next time the mon who used Wish switches in, he gets his own wish, albeit many turns later, so the wish isn't transferable and stays forever with the Pokemon who wished (that's actually a very interesting game mechanic, but yeah no).
  23. Sucker Punch always fails if the user goes after the opponent, so it probably shouldn't have happened. Not sure if I can fix that.
  24. Ok, so I've uploaded 1.1 now, OP is edited with new link. Also, I've decided not to change the levels of opponents, and to keep the battle options as they are– for now, because arbitrarily changing the clauses from battle to battle doesn't seem very fair, you will never know what clauses are in use in which battle. So if I did that, I would have to announce the battle clauses before each battle where there's a specific clause, which might actually be a good idea. But since this is a bit of work, and I'm not 100% sure about it, I will simply keep things going as they are for now and postpone that decision for later releases. I did play through the game myself like I said, but obviously since I know my game, I didn't have much trouble beating it. I didn't do any grinding and still beat the game without losing a single battle. About the starter Pokemon, I have no intention to change it, but I will change something in the course of events so that you are given the choice between different Pokemon at some point in the early game. I know exactly what I'm talking about, but I will keep that as a surprise for the next episode.
