Lol I see, yeah the battle was kinda made with that purpose: there's a mon with fairy wind to somewhat block ebounny and sinisect, and a mon with powder snow to kinda make mouroot a bit less OP. It is already a strong mon by this point of the game, but just in ep 1 is not yet possible to grasp its full potential. Despite what Az said about mouroot being a "crutch character", which is true in a way (not because it becomes weaker, but rather because late game mons become really fucking strong), it should not stop you from trying to see what this guy can do once you get it a couple good berries to abuse with harvest And cool to hear you liked Monochromoth, is an old line of mine that I'm glad people find of their liking. Elftik's evolution's name you can find by checking the mon's summary (I do not say its namr here because elftik is quite rare and not everyone might have caught one yet. ME, for example....). Oh well, if that's it, I can assure you there's still a long way to go before such a thread can be done. If I get to do it when all mons are available, I'd call the thread "Post your headcannon", or something like that xD Anyways, in general, I have a very solid lore for each mon already, at least the ones that I created. It will be cool to read what the players' headcannon is once the time comes tho. Anyways, as I said, there's still a long way until such a thing should even be contemplated lol.

I don't think the mon is going to be changed of typing for this reason tho. The only instance were I think we could change a pokemon already implemented of something as basic as its type is if somehow it was too broken and getting one of its STABs out would balance it. Other than that.....well it can always be discussed, but I don't really see it happening tbh. If I understood, what you want is....lore? as in, you want to know the stuff about each mon that couldn't be written in their dex entry do to space limit? for example, when I say that colourva's body has a high content of water, that banshy's scream can shatter rock, or that goshee is a literal blanket that floats, you mean stuff like that? because if it is not that then I don't think I understood what you mean o.o

Well Ebounny is the ratatta of the game, so it was added very early on, and always intended to appear very early in the game just like magpy that is the pidgey of the game. Bunnerd was made a loooooot later after ebounny was made (I think even 6 months or so after), and since it was technically a jackalope and not a rabbit per se, and since they aren't close to each other in the pokedex nº order anyways, it was accepted to have 2 "bunnies" in the game, despite that, as I said already, bunnerd is a jackalope (for those who do not know, the jackalope is a famous hoax of a rabbit-like creature with deer-like horns). When we were deciding which pokemon would go into ep 1, bunnerd was chosen as a source of fighting type coverage that wasn't particularly strong and so it couldn't be broken by that early point of the game. It also offers nice normal type STAB early on. And yeah as Ody said, Australia is pestered with rabbits. And jackalopes too.

Lol my beta magpy was able to get me hyper potions, full heals, great balls....it was a golden age, but then the Azery nation attacked.... Anyways, seeing all the catchable mons in your dex fills me with determination, as I myself are a completionist when it comes to catching these things, and due to reasons, I haven't really got the time to play myself through it enough to catch one of every kind. Specially fucking elftiks. Not minding the bugs, what did you think of the mons you saw so far, and about the gym battle? I ask this to everybody sorry if I already asked you before.

No you don't, lickylicky is a respectable bulk-abuser with STAB explosion and iirc it can also use its special attack and some coverage moves it gets, as well as getting off a bulky heal bell to cure its team. It also only has one weakness. I like lickitung over it, but I respect lickylicky a lot. I nickname mine "whynature" as a joke, but I really really respect the mon. And with this I gooo offff....

Gourgeist is supposed to be a, well, a gourd or pumpkin, and the head/body part with the pink hair and the curl on top, iirc, was supposed to be the representation of a candle with wax and a flame over it, as halloween pumpkins are usually lit with candles. The inspiration for the arms I have absolutely no idea where it comes from. Still for some reason, this thing is my fav pokemon lol. I sometimes question myself about why, but dunno, I just find it cute and appealing as a whole. But yeah, it is weird as fuck when you think about it.

Seed bomb is a very good grass STAB for gourgeist as Loyalitie said, and it allows it to deal with lots of water types without a strong ice beam. I personally run in my beloved gourgeist the set of leech seed, phantom force, will-o-wisp, and seed bomb. Leech seed slowly drains away anything other than grass types, and stacks nicely with my girl's leftovers, allowing for an insane recovery most times. Phantom force is interchangeable with shadow sneak, depending on what you want: 90bp STAB move that breaks protection, or priority to do revenge kills. Given XL gourgeist's attack stat, shadow sneak hurts enough to consider running it, as XL is also quite slow. I have phantom force because, together with leech seed, it allows to stall for even longer turns, and you cannot protect from it. Only normal types are immune to it, too, which means this has a great neutral coverage, being only resisted by dark otherwise. Also, you "don't need" protect when you have phantom force: the semi-invulnerable turn of the move acts as a protect of sorts, as nothing can reach you there, and you'll recover health and deal damage next turn anyways. Protect's only advantage over phantom force is the automatic, +4 priority protection it offers, but that's about it the way I see it. Seed bomb is the mandatory grass STAB, incredibly solid move with 80bp, 100% accuracy, and no hindering effects to the user. Gourgeist can deal with rock, ground and water types quite nicely thanks to this one move. Finally, Will-o-wisp is for hindering any mon that can be burned in general, and to cripple physical attackers in specific. With investment in HP, attack and Def, Gourgeist is a massive physical wall, that can even get 3HKO by strong SE moves like knock off and acrobatics. Ciel's gliscor in reborn, for example? its acrobatics didn't do more than half. A STAB SE flying move with 110 bp thanks to no item holding. Half. That's how sturdy gourgeist can be. When will-o-wisp hits a physical attacker, it is over for it: if you can stack it with leech seed, whatever you have in front of you will die SLOWLY and PAINFULLY. The only thing you can't really do with gourgeist is put it in front of strong special attackers, more than anything if their moves are super effective. Gourgeist's special defense just won't allow it to do the wonders it does against physical enemies. A normal type with sap sipper is completely immune to its two STABS and leech seed, will-o-wisp being your only option, so watch out for that too. I don't use trick or treat in my main Gourgeist because you can hit strongly regardless of it, and if a counter appears, the rest of your team should be able to take care of it. In any case, if trick or treat worked properly, you could be able to hit SE anything by turning it into a ghost first, but I just find it risky. I do have a gourgeist with this set however, but it isn't my main gourgeist. So yeah, TL;DR - my suggestion is a leech seed/w-o-w/phantom force/seed bomb set. NOTE: the gourgeist in my team card has shadow sneak because I haven't updated the trainer card in ages xD

Somewhere in my room, there's an old hand watch that I used to wear ages ago. I never threw it away, but I accidentally put it wherever I put it....with the alarm function activated to trigger at 22:30 everyday. It has been doing this for over 3 years now, and I have never been able to find it in any of my drawers, not in my wardrobe, not between my books.... I have no idea where the damn thing is, despite I can clearly hear the alarm, every.single.day.

@Nhadala: incredibly enough, nope. There are times that I'm like "okay fucking watch, your time is today" and I start looking for it in my drawers, but I have never found it. The sound is close, but I don't know if it just fell behind my desk or in the space between the cupboard and the wall...no idea.
And the rest of you, this is not a story this is something that is happening for real send help pls

Exeggutor is another weird motherfucker. A mandrake? a japanese legendary tree that grows faces? schizophrenia? who knows. I always liked this one picture tho, I think it represents a quite interesting way to see this mon:
-
Hi guys what's going on in this threa-oh..... Well shit, I love me some good bear mitosis.

Lol, yeah, Barbaracle is a weird one indeed. For those who did not know, barbaracle is based off a real life animal, the barnacle, that, despite its appearance, is actually a crustacean, like Kingler, Crawdaunt, Crustle, Parasect and Clawitzer (at least, the equivalent of crustaceans in the pokemon world). Barnacles have an elongated solid base that sticks them to a rock, and a hard pointy "shell" within which the actual animal's body resides (which explains why they learn shell smash). They usually live in colonies of various individuals. That's why barbaracle is a lot of these things stuck together in a rock. While incredibly weird looking, it is at least better made than just a dugtrio-like evolution; I mean, if binacle evolved into trinacle, I'm pretty sure it would be the single most hated mon of gen VI. Even despite all this, I have absolutely no idea where the hand motif came from. Very weird creature. Also, is it just me, or do the eyes on the legs stay in permanent contact with the ground? ouch, that hurts. I'm sure the leg-eyes sure would need a "hand". Get it? Ah lickylicky, the always hated evolution of a mon that wasn't particularly popular either, lickitung. Either if it's the name, the design or what it represents, I've pretty much never met someone IRL who knows pokemon and likes it. I particularly do not mind it, and actually respect it, as it can be quite strong, and is very fucking bulky. I preffer lickitung more reptilian design over it, personally. Lickitung is not based on any particular reptile I know of, just a saurian-like creature whose whole gimmick is having a long, sticky tongue. Bulbapedia offers at least 3 separated points on what this thing's origin is: an iguana/chameleon, a giant baby, or a gourmand. I'm not sure about any, although the giant baby one makes me laugh when I think about it. The wifi-like pattern, the curl on its head, the overall lost of most of the characters that allowed to define lickitung as a reptilian (like the nostrils and head shape) and the fact that its tongue is somewhat shorter than that of its pre-evolution.... I don't quite know what to think about it. Very weird creature. Dugtrio is actually a choice of mine as well, when it comes to this topic. The fact that the franchise has been so persistant on hiding its underground half, the way the 3 heads are linked together, and all the theories of what could lay deep down....all this has made dugtrio kind of uncanny to me over time. I think about it and all I can see are lots of weird things underground that end in these 3 sausage-like heads. If I'm not mistaken, it is supposed to be based off naked mole rats, or just regular moles. These things often hang one over the other, all piled up, in the galleries they excavate, so that might explain why it looks like it looks. Sort of. The fact that it is just 3 heads together still sets me off most of the time. Pineapple duck AKA mexican mariachi sombrero-wearing party-throwing dance-performing pineapple duck.....Ludicolo is indeed weird as fuck. And all the ones mentioned above are actual points used as possible origins for this thing. It is also said that it might be based on a japanese kappa, to an extent. But all of this doesn't change the fact that, yep, ludicolo is weird. Weeeeeeeird. Stunfisk, one of the absolute weirder-looking ones. Its real life inspiration is a fish whose eyes rotate on its head during its childhood and positionate in the same side of the face as adults. However, stunfisk is neither a fish nor a water type. It apparently is the "trap" pokemon. What goes on with it, I dunno.... As for my take here, this thing: Sigilyph takes a clear inspiration from the nazca lines, and native art. But that aside, this thing is WEIRD, the pokemon. It has forks, 3 eyes, and it is apparently related to unown. And if you look at it hard enough, it actually is the scheme of a bird: the single eye in the black cone is a bird head-and-beak, the two bigger yellow forks are flying wings, the black forks are bird legs and the smaller yellow fork is the tail. If you look at the picture from the side, this is made more evident. What the two spikes and the two belly-eyes stand for, I have no idea. Weird as fuck. But I love you, sigilyph. Specially since I learned how to properly write your name.

I haven't found any similar topic, even though I could have sworn there was one long ago o.o Anyways, over the years, gamefreak has given us quite a good share of amazing creatures called pokémon. Some are pretty normal-looking, to the point of being almost exactly the same as the real life inspiration they come from (see: raticate, herdier, ursaring, and so on). We've also gotten some human-looking pokémon (gardevoir and gallade, medicham, mr mime) and, well, lots of other things. But some of them are weird. Wether it is the real-life thing they take inspiration from, or their looks, or both, we've gotten some pretty cool yet strange pokemon that you might or might not be sure what they're based on, or why they look the way they do. Or even their names or stats or typing might make them seem weird. However, weirdness is relative to the eye of the beholder. So tell me, which one, out of the current 721, do you think is the weirdest pokémon ever made? Keep in mind that weird doesn't necessarily equal ugly.
-
We can't tell you the exact level, but think of it this way: if its evo's sprite appears in the game's folder at this point, then the mon evolves within the level cap of the episode. And how many elftiks have you found in order to consider it an "army"? why do you find so many of these things? dammit ;-;
-
The name you're looking for is Sinisect. Cool nickname for it on Sinestro tho, I call mine Sin xD It is technically possible soloing Mary with just sinisect, as it resists 70% of what her team can through at you, but the level cap is there to prevent you of getting too lucky. Still, even with that, it is possible that the mon listens to you all the time no matter what level, but again, that's a very, very lucky feat. Anyways, the problem you describe about not knowing the types, stats and levels of evolution/move-learning, that's pretty much intentional on our side. You're supposed to go in blind, fight things without knowing what they can do, and catch and use mons you don't know what will evolve into or what they will be able to do.
-
I would have replied to you the 1st time but I have absolutely no idea. I just get used to whatever controls the game I'm playing has, so this is something only Az can tell you for sure :/ And yea that thing is supposed to be rare. You lucky son of a gun, I have only ever found ONE and I had no pokeballs at the time ;-;
-
Lol god damn you got lucky there. HP ghost I can understand, but acupressure geting exactly the boosts you needed to sweep...just proof that chromalyd is best cocoon xD And a pikrieg can do that, I suppose. I haven't used one myself yet
-
Well, I assume not. If you got all the mons available and did all the post-gym quests, I think the ep is over, yes. What did you think of the gym battle?
-
If you could own one Pokemon, what would it be?

I have a similar struggle to that of Generalguy: delphox or gardevoir, hmmm.... Anyways, I like Froiky's split for this, so unrealistic answer: Dragonair. Beautiful snake-dragon, able to fly you through the skies, and fuck stats, IRL this thing would be damn powerful. I mean, it can throw beams from its mouth, wrap itself around a tank and break it, we'd be unstoppable....although all I'd like to do with it really, would be spending my time peacefully somewhere calm. You don't need world domination when you have a dragonair. Realistic (sort of?) answer: furret. Very common, very regular mon, but with cuteness levels out of all charts. It would be great to have around and hug it, I guess. -
So....are all of you agreed on any of these hair colors yet?
