How is it that one of my best guns in BL is a level 14 Corosive revolver? the level of my character is 26 btw

lt's due to the way the random parts system works. Guns are generated with sets of parts that have stat values assigned to them based on the gun's manufactuer. ~~like Atlus, Dahl... etc XD~~
They even have a "rarity" value assigned to them that bumps up the gun's rarity. This is why Legendary Parts ~~because only certain parts in guns make them legendary in BL1~~ always make their gun legendary. however that doesn't mean that a legendary gun is better than other guns cause all the parts that make it up otherwise could be AWFUL.
But in BL1, due to the way parts can work guns of lower level can actually be better than guns that don't have great parts of much higher level. The best example is nearly always revolvers given that if they simplly have a 2 shot mag, they automatically have like... a stupid high increase to damage. ln fact, unless you get a "Masher" or a shotgun revolver... lt's actually not worth using one that doesn't have a mag of 2 due to just HOW much more damage they have due to the multiplier.
l had a 2 shot corrosive revolver that was level 26 Epic corrosive one in a playthrough as Mordecal once. lt lasted until lvl 58 or some shit and even the upgrade over it that l got was only marginally better.
lt's not like BL2 where the scaling is so stupidly absurd level to level late game where if your gun's even 1 level off it's useless. -
l should note as well Corrosive Damage being applied to an enemy or the elemental effect when it goes off actually, makes them take more damage from every source so Corrosive guns tend to be super good if they have super good parts. ~~and it's nearly always worth keeping some source of corrosive damage.~~
