Remember how in Gen 1 there was a chance for the Pokéball you threw to miss? With that in mind, how can people still consider it the best (Genwunners being said people)
Because gen 1 was the generation of novelty. Everything was new and unique. It was more a story of discovery than any other gen. With every generation the pokemon franchise rusted in its place and became more streamlined.
I'm not a genwunner myself but I can see what made gen 1 so special.
