    good and bad news. the good: I managed to find a way to disable the problematic key on my keyboard. the bad: it wasthe R key, and I have an R in my password... so now I can't even log into my laptop... que the music some more

      didn't even notice the 3K. gonna have to find a USB flash drive to reset my pw and fix this...

      There is the option of using the built in touch keypad that some laptops have in some versions of Windows.  Just use it to put in the R, if you ever need an R
